The term "tolerance" has become the buzzword of this decade. However, for most secular-progressives and liberals, the meaning of the word "tolerance" has been permanently changed to "total acceptance...or else." This is why America is in a quagmire of legislated sin. This is why so many decisions that are, quite frankly, horrible in nature and unpopular to the majority of Americans have been made into pagan-humanistic type laws. Through lawsuits supported by the ACLU and pushed through by liberal judicial fiat, laws promoting sinful behavior(s) that our Founding Fathers probably never could have even imagined would have come up within law decisions, are being pushed through under the guise of "tolerance" and so-called "rights."
We are suffering from the unintended (as well as intended) consequences of such laws today. Every subject from abortion, homosexual behavior "rights," euthansia, to sympathy for illegal immigrant law breakers leads to, and in many cases, results in, someone's death.
I received several emails from various people that discuss very different issues, but have in common the fact that laws promoting sin which are created by men's minds often lead to death.
Let's start with an innocuous subject; one that is entirely separate from the list above.
Bill Keller wrote about the popularity of The Sopranos series:
People love the HBO series the "Sopranos" for the same reason they love "The Godfather" trilogy. Even 34 years after it was released, "The Godfather" starring Marlon Brando is one of the most popular movies ever made. So what makes "The Godfather" movies, other organized crime movies like "Goodfellas," "Donnie Brasco," "Carlito's Way," and "Scarface" such a hit with people? After all, these are movies where the lead characters are part of organized crime, men who spend their life killing, stealing, cheating, and destroying other people's lives. They are involved in illegal businesses such as bookmaking, prostitution, extortion, selling drugs, and any other illegal activity you can name.
THESE ARE MEN WHO LIVE THEIR LIVES IN COMPLETE REBELLION TO GOD AND HIS WORD, SO WHY ARE THEY SO POPULAR? PEOPLE LOVE SIN MORE THAN THEY LOVE GOD!!!
The popularity of these fictional crime bosses like Tony Soprano can be directly linked to the popularity of the real-life crime bosses like Charles "Lucky" Luciano, Myer Lansky, and Bugsy Siegel who ran New York in the '30s, to Al Capone who ran Chicago in the '30s, to all the men who ran the various families across the nation throughout the decades. Men like Giancana, Marcello, Trafficante, Genovese, Gambino, Bonanno, Lucchese, Colombo, Accardo, and Gotti to old, calculating, evil, and brutal men who without conscience or mercy spend their lives killing and destroying others. There is absolutely nothing glamorous or redeeming about how they live. There is nothing special about them. They are simply men who have chosen to live a life of crime and live in violation of society's laws as well as God's!
Hollywood and television are largely responsible for how we look at these criminals. They have glorified and glamorized the lives of these men, often turning them into sympathetic figures. The movies and television have showed the human side of these men while almost justifying and excusing what their life is really about. Make no mistake my friend, these are cold, calculating, evil, and brutal men who without conscience or mercy spend their lives killing and destroying others. There is absolutely nothing glamorous or redeeming about how they live. There is nothing special about them. They are simply men who have chosen to live a life of crime and live in violation of society's laws as well as God's!
He makes a great point! His conclusion is unmistakable. PEOPLE LOVE SIN MORE THAN THEY LOVE GOD!!!
Now, I know what you are all thinking. Keller was discussing and describing illegal activity. You may want to argue that my original list does not include anything illegal (except for the illegal alien issue) and therefore, should not be named as sinful and/or compared with illegal activity. But you are wrong! It is not man's laws that count...it's God's Law! Through the Laws of God comes the knowledge of sin. Man, creating any "law" that now labels a former sin as no longer a sin is a LIE! It may be legal, but it's still sin in God's eyes.
What's worse is that once a law that promote a sin that leads to death is on the books, such a law can be abused and extended far beyond its original intent. For example, on the question of abortion, why can't a child be killed outside the womb since his/her life is considered expendable while inside the mother's womb?
Greg Koukl has a great article over at TownHall.com that discusses the fact that "partial-birth abortion" is not really about abortion. It is infanticide! His reasoning on it cannot be denied!
This leads us to the subject of euthanasia. In another article, I was reading about a desperate mother who wants more time with her terminally ill 17-month-old child. But a Texas court may side with the hospital officials that want to terminate baby Emilio's life immediately! If that doesn't convince you that we are living in a culture of death, I fear that nothing will!
Children are under attack in record numbers these days. Even people whom we thought we could trust with our children are often filled with evil intent!!
From the parade of male and female teachers who are discovered to be molesting young teen boys and girls, to pederast gay priests who molested hundreds of young boys, to children being kidnapped, molested, raped, sodomized, killed and thrown away like they were garbage by child predators, to children and teens being stolen and given over into the sex slave trade; there is no doubt about the seriousness of this growing epidemic! We could list hundreds of terrible, excruciatingly-painful examples. I'm not positive of the accuracy of the latest statistics, but I have heard that one out of every 10 children will most likely be molested before they reach adulthood. THAT'S AWFUL!!
For the latest agregious example, read about a psychiatrist who molested over 21 children over the course of several years. You must read Glenn Beck's Real Story from last night's T.V. show. Here's a written copy about the Real Story segment:
A 75 year old child psychiatrist in California was arrested last week on charges that he molested three patients who were ages 9, 11 and 12 at the time. It's an absolutely disgusting case, but the worst part is that there are likely lots of other victims who will never get the justice they deserve.
The Real Story is that this monster -- and let me give you his name in case there are still victims out there, Doctor William Ayres -- has allegedly been molesting kids under his care for so long that the statute of limitations has run out for many of them.
Under a California law that went into effect in January 2006, child victims can pursue criminal charges only up until their 28th birthday. Before that law, they only had 10 years from the day of the molestation.
But, either way, why is there a statue of limitations at all??? I've been saying for a while that we are separating ourselves in this country. But that separation goes deeper than the elephant and the donkey...it's a disconnection from our own laws. We say we care about children, but then we go and create arbitrary statutes of limitations for a crime that changes their lives forever.
Are you telling me that these monsters aren't going to molest again? Are you telling me that the pain of child rape ends when they're 28? If you believe that, I want you to send me a letter because I guarantee that it'll be written with something like pig's urine or crayons. Honestly, the number of non-insane people who will send in letters will be zero. In fact, I'll bet I get more coherent, more well-reasoned letters from people who believe this guy should be castrated with a pickle fork than I do from the apologists.
When a child is molested, a part of them dies. To me, that means the statute of limitations for child molestation should never die.
Did you read that last paragraph? When a child is molested, a part of them dies! Yet, we have the ACLU defending such monsters as the despicable group called NAMBLA!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE PEOPLE??? WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE OUTRAGED ABOUT THIS?? Whistleblower analysts like Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly on cable are the only high level newsmen who cover these awful occurences. The ACLU is a disgusting, anti-child protection organization that places the "rights" of sinful, porn-saturated evil and despicable men over and above the God-given rights of children not to harmed! It's abominable...
By now, most have heard about the verbal battle between Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera about the illegal alien who killed two teen girls with his car while driving drunk. Bill's Talking Points tell us exactly why many politicians do not want to enforce the existing illegal immigrant laws and thus have established anarchy through sanctuary cities across the U.S.
Is this going on because "tolerance" trumps the lives of American citizens? Partially. Many politicians on both side of the aisle would use the impression of wanting to promote "compassion" for these people. But the bigger issue involves, money, voting advantage, corporate greed and cheap labor.
Remember the classic movie called, "A Christmas Story?" The director of that movie and his son were recently killed in a drunk driving incident by an illegal immigrant. Where's Hollywood's outrage about this??? They pick and choose what angers them...and saddens them....I guess. Click on this WorldNetDaily link to read more detail about this tragic incident that has happened because illegal immigration laws are not enforced in Los Angeles; thus, once again, another illegal alien ends up killing two more Americans with his vehicle while driving drunk.
AWFUL!!
My friend Jaded once posted a comment that showed statics about just how many Americans are killed each year by illegal immigrants. If I recall correctly, the statistic showed that more Americans are killed (in various ways) each year, here in America, by illegal aliens than the total number of soldiers who have died while fighting in the entire Iraq war! [Note to Jaded: Please correct this, if needed - thanks.]
[Update: Jaded responded, corrected my statement and clarified what she originally stated in the comment section. Thanks Jaded!]
Here is a copy of the comment:
My last example will most likely anger most liberals, friends of gay people etc. ; simply because such a topic resides at the top of the "tolerance" category. But it needs to be said. Please understand that my concern is for the children.Hi Christine,
I did post a statistic about deaths and violent crime in America, and the result was that you had a greater chance of being randomly assaulted, raped or murdered here than in Iraq, but it had nothing to do with illegal immigrants. (There have currently been well over 100 murders in Philadelphia alone since January 1st) More people were victims of violent crime and murder in this nation since this war began than the totals of the same crimes in the middle of a war zone. This includes all military deaths related to the war. Does that make me a fan of the war? No. But, I think we need to look at the entire picture...the streets of our cities are war zones and we need to do something to stop it!
I have also posted about my personal opinions on illegal immigrants, but it was separate and apart from the crime statistics, and merely my opinion. My opinion is that when someone comes here with complete disregard for the laws of our nation, feeling entitled to pick and choose which laws should apply to them and which shouldn't, that isn't the type of character our country needs. It is also a slap in the face to every citizen and immigrant who had to jump through hoops to get here legally. If someone doesn't respect our laws in the first place, that person doesn't deserve amnesty. That is merely my opinion.
And frankly, I find the portrayal of Italians in shows like the Sopranos to be offensive. I'm half Italian, and that's not really how we are. I'm also almost half Spanish and a little bit Russian, and all of my family came here legally from Italy, Russia and Spain. So, no, I obviously don't have anything against Hispanics either when I'm focusing on the illegal immigrant situation. My grandparents on both sides were the first generation in their respective families to be born here. All of my family came to the US after 1900, and it was a struggle, but they followed the law because they respected the country and what it stands for. To break the law in order to be here then demand special treatment is unbelievable to me.

It was because of the blatant promotion of homosexual behavior acceptance and advocacy in public schools that I got involved in activism against such an issue in the first place. I'm active in such concern not only because it is a behavior which is regarded as sinful in the Bible, but also because such behavior causes rampant STD's, HIV, AIDS illness, disease, and death. Promoting such a behavior as "normal," "natural," and even going so far as calling it "acceptable," and "desirable," ignores the fact that many ex-gay people would warn the public that such activity is none of those things; in fact, it is the exact opposite! In addition, homosexual behavior often causes emotional problems, drug use and abuse, alcohol abuse, promiscuous and unhealthy sexual deviancy encounters, all which affected their bodies, souls, minds and spirits.
Religious convictions are not the only reason to deter such behavior. The physical consequences should be enough for school officials to shut down every gay-straight alliance in public schools. The "tolerance" issue which is being marketed and promoted under the guise of "safety" for students does not include the warnings of how gay sexual behavior can destroy their bodies and lead to disease, deformity and death.
Please take the time to read this post at Laigle's forum. Then, be sure to follow this this link to a pdf article entitled, Federal Distortion Of Homosexual Footprint (Ignoring Early Gay Death?)
As the post at Laigle's forum shares:
...Paul Cameron and Kirk Cameron, both Ph.D.’s who for years have been exposing the truth about homosexuality and its fallout (and suffering severe consequences from the liberal establishment), came out with a study (Federal Distortion of Homosexual Footprint) that shows the following:I think that Laigle points out what all convervatives know to be true:
Whereas smoking shortens the life expectancy of smokers by 1 to 7 years, the homosexual lifestyle shortens the life of practicing homosexuals by 24 years.
The conclusion the authors reach is certainly reasonable:
“Given the greatly reduced lifespan for homosexuals, school children should be strongly and consistently warned about the dangers of homosexuality even more so than smoking. Those school districts which are introducing pro-gay curricula need to rethink their priorities.”
The Left is a species that is not known to listen to reason. In fact, they are notorious for inventing their own facts and, as you know from personal experience, viciously attacking and smearing any professional whose findings are incompatible with their ideology. The only thing that could possibly motivate these radicals is a successful lawsuit brought against them. After all, as I pointed out in the above-referenced article, the thing that brought down the cigarette industry was a huge lawsuit that cost them billions.
You are absolutely right in your data, gentlemen. We are dealing with a deadly lifestyle here and the government is ignoring the consequences. But let’s stop being polite with people who have never shown any regard for human life—from abortion to euthanasia to stem cell research—and mobilize the ex-gay movement to fight this war to win!
The time to stay silent about this is over.
Remember what Jesus said about "those who shall offend one of these little ones?"
Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Mar 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
Luk 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
One day, the effects of evil will be gone forever. Meanwhile, as it is stated at my other website, we are to be actively engaged in the world for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ:
The Bible further instructs us to preach the whole Word of God (2 Timothy 4:2), which includes being the salt of the earth and asserting a moral influence. In this age of moral relativism, the person who holds a pro-moral position is often attacked or ridiculed. If a story can be slanted to the left of the political or religious spectrum, it will be. If an event involves abortion or homosexuality, the news will be slanted in a pro-abortion and pro-homosexual direction.
In 1992, Dan Quayle was ridiculed and called "arrogant," "aggressive," and "offensive" because he argued for objective moral truths - not personal preferences. "This subtle distinction," says Chuck Colson, "is at the heart of the moral conflicts dividing our culture today."
Ask God what He would have you do in this centuries-old war between the wisdom of God and the wisdom of man. The powerful pagan forces that opposed Elijah (1 Kings 18), that fought our Lord (Matthew 16) and that battled Paul (Acts 17) are among us still; forces that seek to throw off the moral cords of God (Psalm 2) and declare themselves liberated - only to find themselves slaves to their own passions and ideas (2 Peter 2:19). I dedicate this site to alert Christians to the pagan dogmas that exist today. We are in a battle for the hearts, minds, souls, and spirits of our children. How can you help to save the United States of America for the sake of our children and grandchildren?
My prayer is that God will open the eyes of His people to the need to know and defend the one worldview that speaks to reality - to the real world - namely, Biblical Christianity. Every believer knows that some day the kingdoms of this world will "become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever" (Revelation 11:15). It is each Christian's moral duty to live, wait, watch, and work for such a time and especially to manifest the character of Christ in our present circumstances. He is our Savior, Lord, and King, and His love needs to be shed abroad in our hearts and in our world - now.
Rev 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

This is an interesting and informative page.
This analogy certainly describes the current political debate today on this issue:
The Pit... A homosexual fell into a pit and couldn't get himself out. A pharisaic fundamentalist came along and said, "You deserve your pit." A psychologist came along and said, "Accept your pit. That way you'll be happy." An apostate liberal came along and said, "Your pit is God's beautiful gift to you." A gay activist came along and said, "Fight for your right to stay in your pit." A researcher came along and said, "Discrimination against pits is illegal." A charismatic came along and said, "Just confess that you're not in that pit." Respectable people came along and said, "We don't associate with pit-dwellers." His mother came along and said, "It's your father's fault you're in that pit." His father came along and said, "It's your mother's fault you're in that pit." His wife came along and said, "It's all my fault you're in that pit." But Jesus, seeing the man, loved him, and reaching into the pit, put his arms around the man and pulled him out.

In a recent ad article entitled Learn how 'sin' becomes a 'right,' which tells of the accuracy of David Kupelian's book "The Marketing of Evil", the following was said (which reiterates the theme of my post):

Learn how 'sin' becomes a 'right'
Top pick explains the 'Marketing of Evil'

Just a generation or so ago abortion and homosexuality were considered by many Americans to be sin, a violation of the laws of God. Now they are trumpeted as "rights" society must endorse. But this week's top pick at Shop.WND.com, is "The Marketing of Evil" by David Kupelian, which reveals this generation isn't necessarily more evil, it just has succumbed to a great marketing campaign.
"The Marketing of Evil" reveals how much of what Americans once almost universally abhorred has been packaged, perfumed, gift-wrapped and sold to them as though it had great value.
According to Kupelian, the manager editor of WorldNetDaily and the driving force behind Whistleblower magazine, expert marketers have played on America's deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity and tolerance to persuade Americans to embrace as enlightened and noble what previous generations considered evil.
Extreme body piercing, teaching homosexuality to grade-schoolers, public approval of abortion and homosexuality and easy divorce all have been handed to America as "rights," he concludes.
"For example, few of us realize that the widely revered father of the 'sexual revolution' has been irrefutably exposed as a full-fledged sexual psychopath who encouraged pedophilia," he notes.
"It's often said that marketing is warfare, and in 'The Marketing of Evil,' David Kupelian clearly reveals the stunning strategies and tactics of persuasion employed by those engaged in an all-out war against America's Judeo-Christian culture," said syndicated columnist David Limbaugh. "If you really want to understand the adversary's thinking and help turn the tide of battle, read this book!"
"Like the dazzling disclosures in the final page of a gripping whodunit or the fascinating revelation of a magician's secrets, 'The Marketing of Evil' irresistibly exposes how it was done," said Rabbi Daniel Lapin, of Toward Tradition. "In years to come Americans will acknowledge a debt of gratitude to David Kupelian for his honesty, courage, and laser-like insight in this must-read book."
I've read Kupelian's book several times. It is absolutely excellent!! Rave reviews here.
