Petraeus responds to moveon.org
Petraeus to MoveOn - You're welcome
Everyone knows who is behind MoveOn.org and what they represent. They represent everything that is un-American, anti-military, anti-morals and integrity and they act like little bratty, foul-mouthed children who are, (as the young girl in the movie Hook said to Captain Hook [paraphrased]) "a very bad man who is in desperate need of a mother."
I had forgotten where, when, why, and how this awful group started their hatred spewing. Late last night, I watched a news show that reminded me of their "roots" and the murky-muck that they slithered out of to wreck havoc upon our society.
The organization originally began in an effort to get Clinton's lying, obstruction of justice a** "censored" so that (in their view) the country could move on to so-called "more important things." Now, they are, unfortunately a powerful organization that forces the Democratic candidates to walk lock-in-step with their rabid lunatic ideology or else they would be harassed and cut off from that evil-eyed billionaire Soros' funding.
Nice big-money financed liberal-left-lunatic-lobbying dictatorship they turned out to be...eh? [Note: If you want to know more about George Soros and his terrible history of anti-Americanism, read Bill O'Reilly's "Culture Warrior." ]
The fact that Hillary Clinton practically called General Petraeus a liar in the Senate hearings tells us where her loyalty is. How frightening it is that she currently has the lead in the running to be the Democratic nominee for our next President of the United States! Well, actually, all the Dem candidates are frightening, too.
Back to General Petraeus and his response.
It was certainly heartening to hear that he had received an email from a friend who had heard about that undeserved character assassinating ad and wanted to share his thoughts with the honorable general. He did this through sharing the poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling:
[IF]
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!
--Rudyard Kipling

Real Clear Politics
Last, but not least, I'd like to add a little wisdom from the Bible, too.
Rom 12:17
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Rom 12:18
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Rom 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Rom 12:20
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Rom 12:21
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

There is something that we all can do to condemn this group and hold them accountable for their actions. Please read the following email that I just received this morning from Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America:
Dear Friends,
Gen. David Petraeus addressed Congress with his long-anticipated progress report about our mission in Iraq. The news that the surge is working, the Iraqis are beginning to take back their country and our troops are defeating al-Qaeda is encouraging to patriotic Americans.
But pro-defeat groups like MoveOn.org and their allies in Congress have decided that any good news regarding Iraq is bad news for them politically. MoveOn.org viciously attacked the character and integrity of Gen. Petraeus with a full-page ad in the New York Times calling him "General Betray Us!"
Gen. Petraeus is an emblem of patriotism. He has willingly taken the mandate provided by the President of the United States and the U.S. Senate to serve his country in one of the most difficult missions in the world. Gen. Petraeus is admirably living up to an extremely complicated job of heading up a war effort in a dangerous region of the world.
It is legitimate to ask tough questions of Gen. Petraeus on his testimony but not to question his patriotism. The vicious attack on him, his commitment to the American people and the integrity with which he leads the Multi-National Force in Iraq will go down in history as a disgrace. It will be seen not only as a reprehensible criticism of Gen. Petraeus but, by extension, those who serve under him - all members of the United States Armed Forces.
In response to the unwarranted assault on Gen. Petraeus' character, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) introduced resolutions that strongly condemn these personal attacks on Gen. Petraeus' honor and integrity.
If MoveOn.org does not speak for you, please call your Representative and Senators at 202-224-3121 and urge them to go on record condemning the personal attacks on Gen. Petraeus' integrity and the forces he leads and to vote in favor of the Cornyn resolution in the Senate and the Boehner resolution in the House.
Sincerely,
Wendy Wright
President

I really liked this WorldNetDaily "Letter to the Editor":
Petraeus rocks
Gen. David Petraeus is a rock, a gift from God to this backslidden and divided nation. The left has a full-page article in the New York Times calling him "General Betray Us." My suggest to WorldNetDaily is to use "David 'The Rock' Petraeus" every time you have an article on the general.
Petra means rock in Greek. There is a place called Petra where the Jews will find refuge in the End Times. Jesus is the rock.

I would also add the fact that Jesus is the Rock of our salvation!
