Many of my friends are Christian conservatives. Most of us did not have McCain as our first choice for our presidential nominee during the Republican Primary. However, when we compare McCain to Obama, Senator John McCain is THE CHOICE - in fact, he's light-years above the radical liberal. There are DOZENS of reasons to choose McCain this November. Kupelian shares three big reasons why our nation must elect John McCain as our next president.
1. Reason No. 1 – End the tyranny of the Supreme Court.
Excerpt:
Remember, although a presidential term lasts only four years, Supreme Court appointments are forever – or almost. We've been stuck with Stevens since 1975, with Souter since 1990, with Ginsburg since 1993 and with Breyer since 1994. That's 33 years, 18 years, 15 years and 14 years, respectively. If you're an anti-McCain conservative or independent contemplating a third-party or protest vote, here's the reality you're facing: Should Obama become president, it really doesn't matter what you hope and dream you'll accomplish in the 2012 election. Perhaps your dream is that disaffected conservatives will coalesce behind a powerful Constitution Party and take the White House in 2012. Or that a chastened, energized and morally renewed Republican Party will roar back with a new Ronald Reagan leading the charge in the next election. Either way, it will simply be too late to change the composition of the court if Obama becomes president and appoints two or three 50-something justices. They'll be entrenched on the high court for decades. You'll be much older, perhaps even will have passed on from this life, when another chance comes along to reverse Roe v. Wade.
I know we're all too preoccupied with the price of gas right now to pay much attention to abortion during this election cycle. But just remember: The number of healthy American babies violently executed in their mother's wombs each and every day is greater than the entire death toll from the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.
Do you want to reverse Roe v. Wade? (And while you're at it, preserve your right to keep and bear arms? And to freely express yourself, including your religious beliefs? And to execute heinous criminals? And a great deal more?) Then support McCain, because if he is not president, Barack Obama will be president, and will recreate the Supreme Court in his image. For decades, good Americans have suffered under the judicial tyranny of a rogue Supreme Court. Right now, there is a rare opportunity to transform it into a court that honors the Constitution and the American people. Don't blow it by allowing Obama to become president.
2. Reason No. 2 – Win the war against radical Islam.
In case you've been too distracted by other concerns lately, let me respectfully remind you that America is at war. Really. We're under a prolonged, multi-faceted assault by an extremely violent, global mind-control cult called "radical Islam." Members do things like hijack planes and fly them into buildings, killing thousands. Al-Qaida says it needs to kill 4 million Americans, including 2 million children, as revenge for America's evil. This from a culture based on rage and hatred even toward one's own family members, as evidenced by an astonishing level of wife and child abuse and a never-ending stream of "honor killings" of innocent girls. They stone people to death, behead them and amputate their limbs on the flimsiest of legal pretexts, including "crimes against chastity" and "apostasy." Oh, and just last week a Saudi cleric explained publicly that it's perfectly proper for Muslim men to have sex with 9-year-old girls, because that's what the Prophet Muhammad did.
And these are the people who believe they are destined to rule the world, and to force their laws, beliefs and religion on the rest of us – by violence and terrorism if necessary.
For me, the War against Terrorism is the NUMBER ONE reason that John McCain should be our next president. However, no matter which order these three big reasons are presented, they are ALL VERY IMPORTANT for all Americans to consider before they go into that voting booth!
If you have been reading at this blog for several months, then you are probably aware of all the posts I have done regarding Obama's questionable character as well as his various associations with radical and criminal people.
Don't let the MSM'S shielding of Obama fool you! The Internet blogs are filled with negative information that you need to know about Obama. Speaking of the MSM's bias, notice how quiet they are now that our military has achieved great success in Iraq.
Excerpt:
Which brings us to Iraq and the next president.
The news about the war, what little there's been lately, is terrible – terrible that is for Democrats. You see, incredible as it sounds, we're winning the war in Iraq. We've eliminated one of the world's most brutal dictators and his apparatus of tyranny and torture. We've planted a democracy there in its place. And we're defeating the terrorists there – that's why they're not attacking us here.
As Ann Coulter wrote recently: "Despite its newness, Iraq's democracy appears to be no more dysfunctional than one that would condemn a man who has kept the nation safe for seven years while deifying a man who has accomplished absolutely nothing in his entire life except to give speeches about 'change.'"
Perhaps you haven't heard the news about the war going well? Well, that's the idea! There is no news. The establishment press, which wants Obama to win in November, is all but ignoring Iraq these days because things have improved so much there. After all, Obama has made it a centerpiece of his foreign policy that he'll pull our troops out of "this failed war" as soon as possible.
In an amazingly candid editorial, the Washington Post recently let the cat out of the bag. It was headlined: "Don't look now, but the U.S.-backed government and army may be winning the war."
While Washington's attention has been fixed elsewhere, military analysts have watched with astonishment as the Iraqi government and army have gained control for the first time of the port city of Basra and the sprawling Baghdad neighborhood of Sadr City, routing the Shiite militias that have ruled them for years and sending key militants scurrying to Iran. At the same time, Iraqi and U.S. forces have pushed forward with a long-promised offensive in Mosul, the last urban refuge of al-Qaida. So many of its leaders have now been captured or killed that U.S. Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker, renowned for his cautious assessments, said that the terrorists have "never been closer to defeat than they are now."
When you read the entire article, you will read that President Bush's job approval rating is one of the lowest in history. According to Real Clear Politics, it is currently at 29.3% However, Congress' approval rating is at a dismal 18.5%!! And, which political party is currently in control of Congress? That's right - the liberal left looney Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid - are running (or should I say RUINING) THE SHOW! We could only expect more of the same with Obama adding to the ruins.
Kupelian brilliantly contrasts the two candidates:
McCain understands that losing in Iraq is unthinkable – betraying all the coalition forces and Iraqis who have fought and died there, turbo-charging Islamic fanaticism the world over, transforming Iraq into a mecca for terrorists and further radicalizing the entire Middle East. He knows the military inside and out, and has what it takes to be a wartime commander in chief.
Obama, on the other hand, is a weak and inexperienced leader and would undo all that has been accomplished at such great cost in blood and treasure. Like other liberal elitists with giant egos (Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton), Obama believes that somehow his superior intelligence, judgment and niceness will win the day, whether by meeting with terrorist leaders like Iran's Ahmadinejad, or in undermining the Iraq war effort. The young Illinois senator simply lacks the maturity to understand what he's actually dealing with: Evil that can be dealt with successfully only with overwhelming strength and determination.
3. Reason No. 3 – A president needs strong character.
Kupelian sums up many of the articles that I have written regarding Obama's character:
Although Ann Coulter describes Obama as having "accomplished absolutely nothing in his entire life except to give speeches about 'change,'" he's not just a young, empty slate with a dazzling exterior. All his adult life Obama has associated with radicals, criminals, communists and terrorists. If you think I'm exaggerating, you haven't been paying attention – no thanks to the establishment press, which is doing its best to conceal the truth about Obama. In every area – from abortion and gay rights to taxes and spending to foreign policy – Obama's policy positions are some of the worst in history.
Like I have stated many times before - I just CANNOT BELIEVE THIS RADICAL PERSON WAS SELECTED AS THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE FOR PRESIDENT!
When Al Gore (Sore Loserman) ran in 2000, I thought he was bad. When John Kerry (traitor to our troops) ran in 2004, I thought he was worse!! But now? Obama has to be the worst candidate (and that is saying a lot - especially when we think back to Carter and Dukakis) EVER to run for the presidency - BAR NONE!
Kupelian shares some heart-warming information about the McCain's adoption of their now-grown baby girl. He also shared something I didn't know. The fact that the McCains helped friends adopt a little girl.
I had not heard about the following account which happened during McCain's horrible 5 years as a POW at the Hanoi Hilton:
But there's another factor we need to consider seriously in picking a president, as Karl Rove insightfully noted in a Wall Street Journal column.
Rove tells of a recent dinner date with Col. Bud Day and his wife.
[R]ove related a few of the stories Day told him, including one about what happened to Day after escaping from a North Vietnamese prison during the war:
When he was recaptured, a Vietnamese captor broke his arm and said, "I told you I would make you a cripple."
The break was designed to shatter Mr. Day's will. He had survived in prison on the hope that one day he would return to the United States and be able to fly again. To kill that hope, the Vietnamese left part of a bone sticking out of his arm, and put him in a misshapen cast. This was done so that the arm would heal at "a goofy angle," as Mr. Day explained. Had it done so, he never would have flown again.
But it didn't heal that way because of John McCain. Risking severe punishment, Messrs. McCain and Day collected pieces of bamboo in the prison courtyard to use as a splint.
Mr. McCain put Mr. Day on the floor of their cell and, using his foot, jerked the broken bone into place. Then, using strips from the bandage on his own wounded leg and the bamboo, he put Mr. Day's splint in place. …
Years later, Air Force surgeons examined Mr. Day and complimented the treatment he'd gotten from his captors. Mr. Day corrected them. It was Dr. McCain who deserved the credit. Mr. Day went on to fly again.
And then there is this:
Already well-known is the fact that McCain refused early release from the Hanoi Hilton, due to his father's position as a U.S. Navy admiral. Comments Rove:
Mr. Day recalls with pride Mr. McCain stubbornly refusing to accept special treatment or curry favor to be released early, even when gravely ill. Mr. McCain knew the Vietnamese wanted the propaganda victory of the son and grandson of Navy admirals accepting special treatment. "He wasn't corruptible then," Mr. Day says, "and he's not corruptible today."
Think about it.
Obama is surrounded by corruption!
McCain "wasn't corruptible then, and he's not corruptible today."
The choice is clear...at least it is for me.
In a previous post, I wrote this:
Who can genuinely be trusted during this time of global terrorism and jihad being directed at the West, Israel, and around the world? I think that man is John McCain.
I also have come to the realization that he is the candidate of destiny.
He survived imprisonment and torture at the hands of his captors during the Vietnam war. Upon his release, he immediately pledged to continue to serve our country.
He has served many years in the Senate. He has done so, faithfully. Even though I have disagreed with some of his bills (like the illegal immigration amnesty bill - but he has, admittedly, since seen the light on that) and some of the domestic policies of the past that he had (or had not) supported, the bottom line is that he continues to demonstrate genuine love, respect, desire to protect, and honor for our nation.
Unlike John Kerry, McCain doesn't "brag" about "purple hearts" received for military service for our country. Nor, did he ever become an anti-war protester who disparaged fellow military buddies like Kerry did after Vietnam. McCain doesn't tout his service accomplishments. He speaks little about his own, terrible, POW experience.
Instead, he shares a story about a Vietnam POW who was beaten for sewing an American flag into his shirt.
Just think about the difference between that POW, Mike Christian, and Barack Obama.
Obama, living in freedom and comfort here in the United States won't even wear a flag lapel pin on his jacket.
Mr. Christian, despite being beaten for it, has such regard, honor, love, and respect for this nation that he would sew a flag in his shirt during imprisonment. He did such a brave thing despite the fact that he was imprisoned and tortured because of his duty and call to serve this nation.
Such a contrast speaks volumes...doesn't it?
Despite all that McCain has gone through, the Lord of heaven and earth has preserved this man for a most important reason. I truly believe that all that has happened in McCain's life has culminated for such a time as this - our need for him to be the next President of the United States.

Very good post Christine, especially for someone like myself who's not quite committed to voting for anyone yet. I know without a doubt I'm not voting for Obama, but I'm definitely in need of more info on McCain and will be watching him now until November.
This information is just what I need for now. I haven't read it all yet, but will be doing so dilligently!
Thanks a bunch!
You are most welcome, Carlotta! The Kupelian article also points out where conservatives generally disagree with McCain.
Obviously, we didn't get our wish for a "Reagan conservative type" candidate this election cycle. However, the points that are most important to me have been covered quite well by Kupelian.
Of course, no candidate is ever perfect. But I do think that McCain is far more qualified, honest, and trustworthy than Obama.
Are you aware of the upcoming meeting being held in San Diego regarding the marriage issue in CA? Pastor Miles will be there. I want to go so I hope my schedule allows me to attend!
Oh yes I do plan to go! I had sent you an email asking you when, but I did receive the invitation to it. I'm going to post it on my website for everyone to see.
Thanks for alerting me to that!
Let's get together on this!
You're welcomed Christine!
I really enjoyed your outline of the recent church corruptions. I'll be borrowing those and highlighting them on my blog as well!
And oh yes, you may want to add "Womanism" on that list too. It's really big in a lot of black churches and just a fancier way of saying feminism. But that teaching denounces patriarchy and wipes out the headship of the husband in a family.
BTW, I'm still trying to figure out wordpress. Found out that a lot of its features that are found in blogger are only accessible in the software download. I think it costs extra but I'll be getting into it eventually.
Good work Christine and thanks for your words of encouragement as well!
I have heard of the "feminizing" of the church. Is that the same thing as "womanism"?
The feminizing of worship, small groups, and many "serving" areas of the church was a problem I read about that seemed to turn off men.
Perhaps this is why The Rock is so popular with men (and women, as well). It's a very "masculine" type of ministry! Nothing wrong with that! The fact that Pastor Miles' sermons are Gospel driven and biblically oriented matters most to me!
Maybe you can give me a link to a "Womanism" page. I'd like to read about it!
Just thought I would pose a few questions...
If Roe v. Wade is reversed, are you and your church ready to take care of unwed teenage moms and their babies. Are you ready to pay medical bills for someone who cant afford it? Are you ready to adopt abandoned babies? I am completely against abortion, but nstead of screaming and yelling at the women who feel as if they are forced into it, the church needs to step up and start caring for these women.
we are not in a war against Islam. We are at war with Iraq. We call it a war on terror, but we are in Iraq only. If we are fighting against terror, then why aren't we in Iran, China, Venezuela? Also, are you aware that the 9/11 bombings were carried out as an act of revenge on Americans for us bombing two towers in Lebanon? We say that those are innocent American lives, and they are, but we killed innocent Lebanese lives. Who does God love more? The innocent American or the Innocent Lebanese. God doesn't wear an American flag. I find it odd that you mention that Muslims are willing to use violence and terrorism if necessary to rule the world... what is America doing? Just because we wear green uniforms with the American flag on it doesn't mean it's not terrorizing. Why is it that almost every Christian I talk to is pro-life for an innocent baby, but so willing to kill an Iraqi? Is it because they should pay for their sins? That's not what Christ taught. And why are Christians so supportive of the death penalty? Would Christ inject the needle into a man who was on death row? Hell no. Christ would love him. Guns, bombs, and needles don't show love.
Why are all conservatives so afraid of Obama's willingness to talk to countries instead of bombing them?
We're not being attacked over here, true. But it's not because of the war in Iraq. It is because our homeland security has increased since 9/11. Remember, Iraq never bombed us. Osama Bin Laden did. By the way, would Christ love him? I'll answer for you: yes.
Where do we get with targeting individuals and and calling them "liberal left looneys?" Are those the words Christ would use?
And I don't want to compare Obama to Christ, although he is a Christ-follower (however many would like to label him as a Muslim and call him Barack Osama, etc.) and made to be in the image of God, but didn't Christ associate with radicals (Judas, John the Baptist), criminals (the list is too long), etc. And do gays not have the same rights that you and I do? I don't care if you think what they do is wrong, do they have the same rights as you and I? Are they not Americans? Are they not made in the image of God?
Whats wrong with being radical? Christ was the most radical man in history. And in a time where something has to change, it's not going to happen with the same old politics. We've been trying it for 8 years... and look where we are. Our economy is terrible. People are losing jobs and no one can get one. Gas costs 4 bucks a gallon, and milk costs even more.
Where is Obama surrounded by corruption?
Be wary of your quick support for Israel? Did you know that there are more Christians in Palestine than there are in Israel? Your support for Israel is your hate for your Christian brothers and sisters in Palestine. No one has done good there, so be wary of your blind support.
Electing McCain is just bringing in 4 more years of the same crap we've dealt with for the last 8 years. I'm not saying Obama is the answer, but at least he's not supported by a party that endorses mass murder in the form of war, conscious neglect of the poor, and promotion of bureaucracy as the rich just get richer and the poor become poorer.
Pray for your nation. Pray that she quits sending men and women overseas to kill for democracy. Pray that the rich quit their greedy ways and start narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor. Pray that our president would call upon God, and not the god that supports war, or the god that supports the wealthy, but the God that died for peace and yearned for the poor.
I'm sure that you will not approve this comment. I hope that you give some serious thought to these words. They are not worldly, but sought after and prayed over.
In love and peace,
Kevin
Kev,
The things you had mentioned about churches and organizations (see Birth Choice, for one example) that help at risk women (financially poor, single etc.)to keep their babies and/or make the choice for LIFE for their baby (via adoption) are already doing much to stem the tide of abortion. The lie of thousands of women "dying" because of back street abortions led to the Roe vs. Wade decision. The truth is, there were very few (in the hundreds if I recall correctly) that died as a result of illegal abortions. However, when abortion became legal, many women used it as a form of birth control. Many women have died BECAUSE of having abortions. The MSM doesn't share such statistics - politically incorrect to do so.
You obviously have a skewed view of the 9/11 attacks. I don't have time to address each of your points right now, but I would suggest that you do a search and view the documentary called "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West."
I also suggest that you place "Obama" in the upper left hand box on this blog that says "Search blog." You will see the dozens of posts that I have written (with many links to support what is being said) that show the corruption Obama has been involved in.
Lastly, America is not a perfect nation. I don't know of one that is...do you? However, we have liberated MANY peoples and nations from the tyranny of others. I don't know how much of our history you are familiar with, but WWII saved MANY nations from tyrants - like Hitler in Germany. D-Day saved France from the German invasion. There is so much more but I suggest you study our history from conservative writers - not the liberal left loonies like home-grown terrorist William Ayers who hates America.
There is NOTHING that you could say that would deter my support for Israel. I know what the Bible says about that nation. Besides, Israel doesn't persecute Christians, but the Palestinians often do.
Jesus said that we would always have the poor with us. Was he wrong?
People in the U.S. are very generous to charities, missionaries, and the poor and homeless. You just never hear about it because the mainstream media wants to paint a negative picture of conservatives - especially Christians.
Why don't you ask liberal Democrat Al Gore why he doesn't donate the millions he's making off of the "global warming" hype to the poor? Ask Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Kerry (whose dismal donations to charity was revealed when he ran for president) and all the other lib millionaires in Congress why they don't give more of their money away?
Want to know why? Because they would rather tax other people and use other people's money to fund their pet projects. Do you even know how wasteful the spending is in Congress? Ever heard about "The Bridge to Nowhere" or "The Big Dig?" They are only two of the hundreds of earmarks and wasteful spending of tax dollars. And, you want me to even consider Obama who would raise every single tax out there? No way! NOBAMA!
Obama won't even help retire Hillary Clinton's campaign debt (which he could EASILY DO!!) with the millions and millions of dollars that have come into his campaign coffers. What does THAT say about the man?
Here. I did the work for you. Just click on this link and read all of my former posts about Obama.
