I'm sorry - I thought you were the same Arlen I "met" online from that blog site.

I look forward to reading your new blog when you get it up and running! What a great name - "The Opportunity." That is exactly what Jesus offers us all - the opportunity to be forgiven of our sins and a member of his flock when we accept Him as Lord and Savior of our lives!

Please let me know when your blog is up so I can link to it in my sidebar and visit each day! God bless!

Christinewjchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18434229284833642438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12391603.post-66133690726710808272013-04-29T18:48:44.291-07:002013-04-29T18:48:44.291-07:00Christine, As much as I would love to take credit ...Christine, As much as I would love to take credit for writing at Gulag Bound, that's not me. However, I am putting together a blog entitled "The Opportunity" that I hope to launch soon in an attempt to lure and influence people to Jesus Christ.

You see, I am of the opinion that the though many things are important in this life (like your work), the most important question that anyone will ever face will come after they die: What did you do with the person of Jesus Christ when you were alive?

It is my sincere hope that The Opportunity will attract people to Jesus and that they will accept Him and want to have a relationship with Him.

Please keep up your good work!Arlenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12270897153690221169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12391603.post-22934531130450859062013-04-29T07:38:54.702-07:002013-04-29T07:38:54.702-07:00Hi Arlen!
Thanks for sharing that wonderful verse...Hi Arlen!

Thanks for sharing that wonderful verse! It is one of my favorites because it shows how insignificant our troubles are here on this earth compared to the fact that Jesus has overcome the world at the cross of Calvary!

I have been away from my computer over the past 3-4 days, and that in and of itself was a bit of a blessing! I didn't have time to watch much TV either, so I was able to keep my mind from the usual barrage of bad news.

Arlen, your sentence, "The world with all of its pressure related days and pent-up stresses cannot shake my my hope, which comes directly through Jesus" describes why you are able to write what you do at Gulag Bound and share about Jesus and the Bible in comments here and elsewhere. The fact that your hope (mine too!!) can NEVER be shaken by "the world" and what goes on here is a wonderful testimonial regarding your strong faith in Jesus' goodness, mercy, grace and love!

When Romney lost the election, so many people I know stopped reading and commenting on blogs, stopped watching the news, and were very angry that Obummer got into office for another LONG 4 years. I was very disappointed too, but it just wasn't meant to be. After 4 more years of this BADminstration, people are going to be clamoring for conservative leadership again!

I have visited with Mormons in my home in the past. Very nice young men! In fact, two of them once attended the Christian Fellowship that my family and I were attending at the time. I had hoped that they might rethink the Mormon church and focus more on Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. They visited my home one more time after that, but their belief that God is not Spirit showed how different our beliefs were and how skewed there teaching is.

However, I agree that their zeal for mission work puts us Christians to shame! But there are other methods to reach the masses with the Gospel these days. It is my prayer that the posts I include here about Jesus and the Bible reach into the hearts of visitors who happen to come here via a website or from a web search engine.

Had a busy (and tiring!) three days but it was all good.

Hope your Sunday blessed you too!Christinewjchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18434229284833642438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12391603.post-20375173021035180612013-04-28T07:01:43.070-07:002013-04-28T07:01:43.070-07:00Good morning Christine. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

The world with all of its pressure related days and pent-up stresses cannot shake my my hope, which comes directly through Jesus.

On a different subject, I had two Latter Day Saints come through my neighborhood and to my house last evening. Very nice, well behaved young men finishing up their 2 year mission. They definitely understand what is important to them. Oh that Christians would follow that kind of dedication to God's Word and spread the truth.

Have a GREAT Sunday!Arlenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12270897153690221169noreply@blogger.com
