I think that Vermont and Maine pro-gay marriage officials realized that after CA passed a state constitutional amendment IN FAVOR OF TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE when the people in LIBERAL CALIFORNIA voted, it showed them that they cannot win this debate via the ballot box. That is why they went through their liberal lawmakers in their individual state legislatures.

Massachusetts pro-traditional family advocates have been trying FOR YEARS to get the "gay" marriage issue up for a vote by THE PEOPLE - but the powers-that-be there probably KNOW that they would lose at the ballot box. Therefore, they are doing everything in their power to PREVENT any propositions from coming before the PEOPLE OF MASSACHUSETTS in voting ballot form, to prevent the WILL OF THE PEOPLE from speaking on this issue.

Remember. If the vote in CA on Prop. 8 had gone the other way - the pro-gay activists would have prevented the traditional definition of marriage to stand in the state.

Just because they lost at the ballot box, they will verbally bash, harrass, and torture anyone (e.g. Miss California) who disagrees with their indoctrination agenda.

They lost. The passage of such a law in Maine and Vermont does not always reflect the will of the people.

California is a great example. The courts instituted, and forced, "gay" marriage upon our state. The people rose up and got petitions signed to get it on the ballot for election 2008. Proposition 8 passed and wrote that "only marriage between one man and one woman is recognized as legal and valid in California" into our state constitution. IMO, THAT was the right way to do it. The majority of people voted to keep the definition of marriage as it has been for thousands of years.

However, in Vermont and Maine, only a few people in powerful positions (who are supposed to be carrying out the will of the people) instituted "gay" marriage upon everyone in that state. I don't think that is the right way to do it. But that is just my opinion.Christinewjchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18434229284833642438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12391603.post-23172056515602526362009-05-10T07:09:00.000-07:002009-05-10T07:09:00.000-07:00Do you think the federal government should overtur...Do you think the federal government should overturn the new marriage equality laws in Maine and Vermont -- written by the state legislatures -- if an administration came to power with the intent to do so? Do you support a federal constitutional amendment to outlaw gay marriage in all 50 states: the sort of amendment proposed by former president G. W. Bush?Jessicanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12391603.post-59754224541901300272009-05-09T15:13:00.000-07:002009-05-09T15:13:00.000-07:00This is grat news and it is about time.
