She wasn't used for political leverage?? Uh huh. How quickly some forget!"<br /><br />I'm not defending government intervention in health care, but it doesn't seem like a very comparable example to me. For starters, the legislation was directed toward Terri. Unless the president has some super-secret plan to raise Ted from the dead, I don't think that much applies. Something that is applicable is that countries that do adopt government run health care systems have far worse survival rates for cancer, so it is entirely likely that, had this system of the president's already been in place, Ted might have passed away a good deal sooner. I also seem to recall the Dems turning the Paul Wellstone funeral into quite the campaign commercial while the grieving family fumed. Bunch of class actors.<br /><br />I also won't defend the outburst during the speech. Anyone who has read the current bill knows that the president is lying about numerous things, but that was an improper act. Considering how disrespectful this president and congress has been to their constituents, however, I find it difficult to work up a lot of care. When the Dems censor mail to constituents, kill all conservative ammendments in committee, and openly lie about what is involved in their bills (which most admit they haven't read, though that's a charge easy to make against Republicans as well), kill investigations into corrupt dem governors and organizations, pay off unions at the expense of tax payers, and rack up more debt in a year the Big Spending Bush managed in four, it's hard to work up a lot of respect.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11769241624759010694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12391603.post-73671535457331551952009-09-10T07:38:33.657-07:002009-09-10T07:38:33.657-07:00GMpilot,
