I can't agree with 100% of it, but it was still a very good speech. However, what I thought was even more telling than the speech itself was the reaction of the Democrats to certain parts of the speech. For instance, when he said, "In November, we witnessed a landmark achievement when scientists discovered a way to reprogram adult skin cells to act like embryonic stem cells. This breakthrough has the potential to move us beyond the divisive debates of the past by extending the frontiers of medicine without the destruction of human life." And the dems all kept their seats. He didn't say, hey, I'm against research, and want people to suffer because I don't believe in the research, he said, he, this is great, we can now both have what we want. How can you not applaud that?

There were a few other things as well where the dems kept their seats and didn't clap, and I was left wondering, are these people Americans? How can they not support that, it wasn't a partisan deal, it was about what is good for America. This is crazy!

As far as them having to go back to JFK to find a good Dem President, how true that is. You really have to stop and think about this. With the left-ward shift in both parties over the years, the fact is that JFK, with the stances he took at the time, would be a Republican today. The dems of his era, that are still dems today, have shifted so far to the left that they have nothing in common with him anymore.

This is an exciting time to be alive, but a terrifying time to be raising little children. I am thankful President Bush is a believer.

Much love to my "little" sister on the West coast from South Carolina. Did you notice how they needed to skip over several Democrat former presidents in order to discuss one that had a good presidency?

As I watched, I couldn't help noticing that the Kennedys were so taken by Obama's celebrity status. Yes. Obama has a unique and powerful ability to be a great motivational speaker at rallies such as the one shown on T.V. today. But did you notice something else? The man said NOTHING of substance! All we hear is "hope" and "change" ad nauseum. Where are his ideas? What would he do about Iraq besides barking that he was against the war in the first place and will bring the troops home? How? Would he go against the advice of General Petraeus?

Sorry folks. Obama may be a great orator. He may be a charismatic, motivational speaker. But such things do not add up to someone who I think can lead this country.

Compare Obama's lack of ideas to President Bush's State of the Union address which is filled with accomplishment; as well as additional ideas to help solve problems we face as a nation.

I do not hear anything from Obama that even comes close to any ideas or knowledge of what to do for America.

He is about to make his "reaction speech" to President Bush's address. We shall see what he says.

It was surprising to hear a much more positive "Democratic response" from that governor? of Kansas. Took seven years, but we finally got one.

I suppose it was because of the Democratic majority in Congress that the Dem elites didn't want their responder to rail against the president like they have for the last 6 years!!!

Hmmm.....Christinewjchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18434229284833642438noreply@blogger.com
