God Blog Convention 2005!

GodBlogCon God Blog Convention

Hey friends!

I just found out about the first Christian 'Bloggers' Convention at Biola University!

Biola's Torrey Honores Institute will host a convention for Christian bloggers, Oct. 13-15, titled "GodBlogCon." The goals of the convention are to provide networking opportunities for Christian bloggers and to help them think about their medium and how they can best influence the culture and advance God's kingdom. Session topics will include: "Blogging for Pastors," "Blogging for Cultural Impact" and "Christian Political Blogging."

"Bloggers" - short for "Web loggers" - are people who start Web sites and update them regularly with personal commentary on topics that interest them. Blogging is being recognized as a new form of scholar activism. To register for the conference, visit www.godblogcon.com.

Hope to see you there!

Christine

P.S. Thought I'd add this test just for fun! Good luck! Just so you know, there is nothing "dirty" within the IQ test below so please don't let that word make you hesitate (I did at first!) to do this short, fun test. I don't know why that's written in there...maybe to draw a crowd?

Your IQ Is 115

Your Logical Intelligence is Above Average
Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius
Your Mathematical Intelligence is Exceptional
Your General Knowledge is Above Average

  1. Hi Christine -

Wow! I wish I did live so far away. This sounds like a really interesting conference. I visited the website to check it out. The workshop on blogging for writers really caught my eye. Maybe you can let me know if a tape is made available after the conference.

    Blessings,
    Anna

  3. Hi Christine,
I didn't understand where this conference is. Can you clarify. Wouldn't it be so cool for all of us to meet there? Sounds like it would be so beneficial to go and take those workshops too.

My son and I took the IQ test. We both scored 100. I thought he's score way higher than me - so I was glad to not be so dumb after all. :)

  4. Hi Jojo,

The conference is sponsored by the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola University in La Mirada, CA.

Go to the Godblog site, scroll down and click on the "THI" in the left hand menu bar (see white letters in blue space left hand menu bar) for more information. That would be so cool if we all could attend and meet!!

That IQ test is just for entertainment fun. I know it can't be very accurate because I scored an "exceptional" on the 'mathematical intelligence' portion and everyone who knows me well can say THAT isn't true! Math was always my worst subject!

Did you notice? My blog has paragraphs now! Stephen helped me to correct this problem that has been plaguing me for quite a while. He's a great guy!

Thanks again, Stephen! I appreciate you! :-)

Jojo, have you picked out a Bible study book yet? I'm going to the Christian bookstore this week so I'll look around for some choices, too.

  5. Bummer! CA is definitely too far away! I would love to be able to come out there and see my biological family - but can't afford the airfare.

Yea Stephen! Glad he could help you.

No I have not picked out a Bible study. I tried to look online for the one you talked about (I forget what you called it) but couldn't find it. I might get a chance to look at the local Christian bookstore today - but would be fine with you picking something out. Thank you!

  6. Hi Everyone!

My husband and I took the IQ test. He felt it was right in line with scores he had on other IQ tests. We had fun taking it.
It called me a "Word Warrior." I guess that's a good thing since I'm a writer!

    Blessings,
    Anna

  7. Hi Anna,

Really? This IQ test might be considered accurate? I haven't taken a "real" one before so I don't even know what a score of 115 means! LOL Is the highest score 150? I also wonder what the median score is.

I'm sad that you (and Jojo) live to far away to attend the Godblog conference. It would have been so fun for all of us to hang out and attend the sessions together! I will look into whether or not tapes or cds might be available and for sale after the conference. When I find out, I'll email the info to you!

Keep on posting... "Word Warrior" woman!
    ;-)
