Woke up earlier than usual this morning. Took the dogs out (got 3 now...dogsitting my friend's dog too!) about an hour before sunrise. I stood there smiling, enjoying the quiet time and comfortably cool air in the back yard. The birds were not out chirping yet. The only thing I could hear outside was the soft wooshing sound of the sprinklers.
When I came inside to make some coffee, I also turned on the news to find out that all is not well with the world...yet again. The North Korean Menace had tested a nuclear bomb underground!
I am telling you now...if the United Nations does not step up and DO SOMETHING about this, that useless organization SHOULD BE DISBANDED!!
Seriously!! Take all the money that is being wasted for, and by all these fat cat do nothing "ambassadors" and feed the people of North Korea!! Oust Kim Jong Il!! The guy's name fits him...HE IS ILL!!
Michele Malkin has done most of the up-to-date research on this. Awaiting President Bush's comments coming soon...
More to come...

Before we go running about screaming about the North Korean menace, ("yellow peril" just seemed too obvious), let's not forget that this is the same country that is apparently using rubber-band technology to launch their missles and that claims that Kim Jong Il routinely shoots 3-4 holes-in-one when he golfs. In short, their missle test may be the same as me throwing rocks at bottles.
ReplyDeleteMaybe so, Limpy99. But they continue to defy all U.N. orders to cease and desist from their nuclear bomb-making plans. They exploded something underground, and it is likely nuclear in nature.
ReplyDeleteThere is word today that perhaps they used conventional weapons. It may take a while to find out the entire truth of the matter. But the fact that they are sending out missles into the ocean (one, apparently, had the potential range to reach Hawaii!); ignoring every single country who condemns their actions; thumbs their nose at the concerns of the countries in the U.N. Security Council; continues to make additional threats (like today towards the U.S.); etc. makes them a dangerous, rogue nation that, as it currently exists, can never be trusted!
"ignoring every single country who condemns their actions; thumbs their nose at the concerns of the countries in the U.N. Security Council; continues to make additional threats"
ReplyDeleteYou do realize you just described our current foreign policy don't you?
Spoken like a true blue secular progressive Limpy99!
ReplyDeleteFinally, a compliment.:)
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I think North Korea with nukes is a really, really bad idea. I just can't say I'm all that worried about their ability to do much with them besides maybe drive them over to their local Stucky's before blowing themselves to little bits.
Yes. I see why you'd take it as a compliment. "Secular progressive" sounds a lot better than "loonie, left-wing fanatic!" heh heh ;-)
ReplyDeleteEven if North Korea doesn't have the means to deploy nuclear weapons yet, I don't think that the world should just stand by idle, allowing them to continue their ambitions. But I fear that the do-nothing U.N. will probably "resolution" us to death and not accomplish one darn thing to deter North Korea's plans.
