I think that the author did a fairly good job sharing the contrast between the various beliefs of four distinct religious traditions.
However, I felt that the goal of "confronting differences over the meaning of Jesus' life" was sorely lacking on the Christian side of "the differences."
The Bible has recorded many of the words of Jesus. If some of these were included in the discussions, I think that many readers would have been led closer to the truth about who Jesus really is.
Fellow Christians, you or I could list hundreds of verses and/or references from the Bible that identifies who Jesus is!! In fact, it would be great for each of us to pick out our favorites and list them in the comment section.
The Bible reveals that Jesus himself asked, "Who do you say that I am?"
Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Ah! This verse gives us a hint to know why the author of the article may not be able to determine who Jesus really is. It has not been revealed to him by our Father in heaven. Perhaps further research will help lead him to Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.
The conclusion people reach about Jesus determines whether or not one is reconciled back unto God and where each of us will spend eternity.
The answer to Jesus' question is in God's Word! Trying to find the answer outside of God's revelation to all mankind seems strangely disingenuous, doesn't it?
Isn't it odd that there were no Bible quotes or even references in the article?
So, we must ask, why did the author neglect to do any research from the Bible?
Or, if he did do some research, why would he not include any biblical references that could have given him the Christian answer to his original question?
The historical fact of Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection to life is the proof of his claims!
Could the author's neglect in biblical research have something to do with being afraid of finding out the absolute truth of the matter?
I wonder...
