July 4th at Temecula TEA Party!

Went to the Temecula TEA Party today with my new friend Donna! It started at 11 a.m., but we arrived at 12:45 p.m. There were several crowds of people on each corner of the busy intersection of Ynez and Rancho California Rd. There were also several groups lined up along the road on all sides.

As we turned the corner to find a place to park, I honked the horn several times and gave a thumbs up! Everyone along the route waved their signs and flags and cheered! After we parked we found a nice shady spot under some trees. It was hot!

There were all kinds of home-made signs. Some were familiar, others were quite hilarious!! Here are some examples:

1. OBAMA - One Big A** Mistake America
2. Don't Tread on Me
3. 90% tax hike for Congress (loved THAT one!)
4. Crap and Trade (with a pic of a pile of it! hah hah!)
5. Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing its idiot
6. Tea or Kool-Aid (pics) - Which one are you drinking?
7. Next time read the bill!
8. Washington D.C. Corruption
9. Vote the bums out!
10. 1776 not 1984
11. Got Socialism? (other side) Is this what you wanted America?
12. Taxed Enough Already!
13. I'll keep my freedom - you keep the change
14. Audit the Fed!
15. Say no to generational theft!
16. My child is not your ATM!
17. Of the people, by the people, for the people.

I approached the guy with that "Of the people" sign and told him about ObamaFRAUD's speech where he purposely left out the "for the people" part of that phrase. The man said, "it doesn't surprise me."

There were many many more signs. A lot of them were very clever - and so true! I will add them as I recall them.

My friend Donna took some photos and will send them to me via email so I can post them tomorrow.

Hundreds of people drove by honking their horns in support and giving the thumbs up sign. Some people drove by with sour looks on their faces...pretending that they didn't see us. There were also some nasty people who shouted curses out the window and put up their middle fingers. What childish losers...

There were certainly many more people driving by, honking, waving, and giving the thumbs up support!!

Happy Independence Day!

More tomorrow!

P.S. As I was searching the blogs, I found out that President Bush and Laura Bush attended the Let Freedom Ring Festival in Oklahoma. Gateway Pundit reports: Thunderous Applause Greets Bush in Oklahoma-- 6 Standing Ovations

Excerpt:

Former President George W. Bush spoke amid thunderous applause in a rural Oklahoma town to celebrate the Fourth of July, calling the U.S. the ''greatest nation on the face of the earth.''

Bush was given six standing ovations as he spoke Saturday inside a remodeled rodeo arena in Woodward, a town of about 12,000 residents in northwest Oklahoma. About 9,200 tickets were sold for the event, which would be the biggest crowd for Bush since he left office in January.

Bush spoke of the bravery of injured soldiers he'd met throughout his presidency, and thanked members of the military for their service. He also thanked spectators for giving ''a retired guy something to do.''

Great comments over there. Here's a few of my favorites:

Every day we're stuck with Obummer makes President Bush 1000% better than the day before.

I certainly did my share of bitching about GWB, even though I twice voted for him.

However, on this Independence Day, I wish that GWB were President instead of BHO. BHO doesn't understand or want to understand our Founders intentions about the importance of personal liberty. GWB, on the other hand, DOES!

I'm glad to see that GWB is getting some applause today.

I'm so glad I'm not a liberal anymore.

Obama has taken the country down in so many ways. Obama is an idiot on energy policy. He is an idiot on economics. And his health care rationing and plundering will bring medical disasters.

We all love and respect President Bush. some won't admit it how much better off we were.

  1. Odd...I didn't read anything here about taxes; there were some anti-Obama signs, as you noted, and there was some nostalgia about GWB, and some comments about those who passed by...but I didn't read anything about why all those people were supposedly assembled there! Were there any prominent speakers? Were there any speakers at all? This was claimed to be a "grassroots" phenomenon, but its partisan language is plain:

"Obama and liberals in Congress are taking us down the road to socialism, seizing control of key banks, insurance companies, the automobile industry, etc. They are currently working on a government funded national health care program which is expected to cost roughly $2 trillion while rationing services."

Um...the bailout requests didn't just pop into existence last January, you know. They were already on Bush's table in September--you know, when the meltdown actually happened, and when Senator McCain decided to "suspend" his campaign and return to Washington to do something about it? (How'd that work out, anyway?)
'[S]eizing control of key banks, insurance companies, the automobile industry, etc.' Sounds like several Mechanized Infantry divisions physically occupied Wall Street and the suburbs of Detroit! We all know that's not what occurred, and such alarmist rhetoric makes it sound like 1917 Russia...which is what it was meant to do. Yeah, some banks were 'seized' and propped up with more money, because if they'd crashed, it might well have led to a run on the other banks, which would surely have led to disaster. But it was Ben Bernenke, and Bush's economic team, who proposed it, in November.
It can be rightly argued that Bush and the conservatives in Congress started us down that so-called 'road to socialism'. We were financing two wars and cutting taxes at the same time, something governments at war NEVER do. Where did we get the money for all those "bunker-busters" and Predators? Why, from trade with China, of course. The same China that fills our Wal-Marts with cheap goods, and fills their pockets with good money...ours. We haven't impoverished future Americans so much as we've enriched future Chinese!
Why were so many in Congress so silent for so long? Didn't any of them see this coming? That's culpabiliTEA.

BTW, I'm on a government-funded health-care program. It's the Veterans' Administration. I don't need it much right now, but those folks who return from Iraq and Afghanistan with parts of themselves missing might feel differently.

The language all blames Democrats for this, as if it all began on 1/20/09. Just like Bush "kept the nation safe" for 8 years...starting on 9/12/01.

"Hundreds of people drove by honking their horns in support and giving the thumbs up sign. Some people drove by with sour looks on their faces...pretending that they didn't see us. There were also some nasty people who shouted curses out the window and put up their middle fingers. What childish losers..."

Nine months since the elections and some are still wanting to overturn the results. It's obvious who the 'childish losers' are. I await your latest iteration of the birth certificate "controversy". Such irrationaliTEA!
I've never claimed to be nonpartisan, but at least I don't run a website that pretends to be.

The July 4th Tax Day TEA parties are a lot like 4th of July fireworks. They look good, make a lot of noise, attract a crowd, and then the next day are forgotten.

  2. It can be rightly argued that Bush and the conservatives in Congress started us down that so-called 'road to socialism'.

Not really. The mortgage crises was the result of Democrats manipulating the mortgage markets so that undeserving borrowers (democrat voters) could get home loans. The Republicans in congress warned congress in 2006 (film clips should be available on the net). The Democrats controlling oversight of Fannie and Freddie pooh-poohed them and said everything was fine. It can be said that Bush argued for bailouts, but not acting as a conservative, who would have said, rightly, that the market would sort things out more efficiently than government. As it is, Obama stated that unemployment would stay below 8% with the stimulus but perhaps hit as high as nine without it. It's over nine with it. Conclusion: Obama and his team don't know WTF they are talking about. If liberal economics worked, California, NY, and Michigan would be the three most prosperous states in the union. As it is, they are they are either the largest debtors or in complete decline.

"We were financing two wars and cutting taxes at the same time, "

Perhaps governments don't usually do it, but maybe they should. Aside from the year immediately following 911, tax revenues were up with tax cuts. It was brought out in the campaign that the last time that capital gains taxes were cut, revenue from capital gains went up. Obama said he would raise them again anyway even if they would lower revenue "to make them more fair." Conclusion: Obama is willing to harm the country to appeal to class enviests.

"[S]eizing control of key banks, insurance companies, the automobile industry, etc.' Sounds like several Mechanized Infantry divisions physically occupied Wall Street and the suburbs of Detroit!"

Well, let's see - we have a group of politicians making political decisions on how to run a business with basically no accountability. Obama, to the best of my knowledge, has never had any experience in a business that actually had to make a profit. He proved that nicely by dividing up most of GM between governments and unions, two entities that have exceedingly poor track records for improving sales and productivity. As for mechanized divisions in Detroit, after the disaster that liberals have made of the area, I would want something heavy to go in. The average housing price is $7000. You can get some homes for as little as $1000. Of course, there are almost no support businesses or services. Thanks to unions and liberal government policies, what was formerly one of the most productive manufacturing economies in the world has been reduced to debris.

  3. "Yeah, some banks were 'seized' and propped up with more money, because if they'd crashed, it might well have led to a run on the other banks,"

Or the banks and other business would have realized that they were losing money and taken their own actions to correct them. Historically, businesses have always responded more quickly than government to correct economic problems. Why? Because they stay in business by correcting problems. Politicians need only appeal to their constituents whether it actually does any good or not. As it is, not only has the stimulus been a bust, but Obama has committed more for health care reform than was spent in the wars you mention. All that on top of benefit spending that he already admitted was unsustainable.

There's a good reason why the TARP and stimulus funds are being expressed in a "coup" like fashion - They are being muscled by a liberal fascist. When government is threatening to put businesses out of business and suppressing data (as in EPA climate reports) for the sake of passing their energy agenda, you have a fascist government in action. The fact that they wear suits instead of brown shirts is a difference in aesthetics only.

"The same China that fills our Wal-Marts with cheap goods, and fills their pockets with good money...ours."

On the contrary, Walmart has demonstrated the benefits of trade. China earns money for its production. We save money over buying overpriced goods. My family saves between one and two thousand a year thanks to the prices at Wal-Mart. Others save more. How much of tax cut would have to be made to give all of the Walmart shoppers that much increased buying power? More than we are likely to ever see again.

You do have a point about foreign debt, however. Too much of it is a killer, and the more you assume the more you pay. Obama's budget proposed this year will incur debt around the same amount of the entire Bush presidency. And at least Bush arguably made us safer. Since Obama has taken over, we are now in a worse position with China and Korea is test firing like crazy. He is following the same course the Japanese tried to save the auto industry, which failed. He is pursuing the same course with Green Jobs that Spain tried, and failed. And he is trying the same course with health care that just about everyone tried, and failed, at least with failure being defined as more rationing and less service than the current American system.

"The same China that fills our Wal-Marts with cheap goods, and fills their pockets with good money...ours."

Of course they did, but they kept getting re-elected and they have a separate health care and retirement system so there was really no reason for them to change, was there? The TEA parties are the first step in showing that may be changing.

"The language all blames Democrats for this, as if it all began on 1/20/09."

Much the same way Obama blames everything on Bush. At least Bush addressed the problem with positive results. (i.e., no further attacks on US soil, though several were detected early and stopped.) So far, everything Obama said about arresting unemployment and stimulating the economy has been wrong. Every promise about openness and availability of bills for review has been renegged. His town halls are staged with hand-picked plants and despite his reputation for brilliance, he doesn't seem to answer much of anything that isn't scripted. Dr. Goebels would be very proud.

"The July 4th Tax Day TEA parties are a lot like Obama's promises. They look good, make a lot of noise, attract a crowd, and then the next day are forgotten."

I don't doubt that the libs will forget them. They seem to have very poor memories for anything bad related to their annointed candidates. I think time may tell a different story come 2010, especially if, as I anticipate, Obama's policies work out the same way that they have every other time liberals have tried their socialist dream: High debt, lousy service, ever diminishing freedom.
