A Question

A few moments ago, Glenn Beck told his listeners that he has received numerous death threats. Two years ago, when his tour bus was on the way to the next location (for his annual comedy tour), one of the security people reminded Glenn that there are crazy people out there - intent on killing him.

This was happening before the monumental success of his radio show, his Fox News Channel TV show (he was previously "hidden" on CNN's "Headline News" channel), the success of the launching of the 9.12 Project, the success of the TEA Party revolution, and the success of his book "Common Sense."

Now, we can only imagine the ratcheting up of death threats against him due to the enormous success he now enjoys.

This morning, Glenn spoke about why he does what he does. He claims not to do it for money. He claims not to do it for fame. He claims that he does it because he must share the TRUTH about what is happening here in America.

I believe him.

He has probably earned enough money already to quit and allow his family to live comfortably for the rest of his life. So why keep on keepin' on?

Because he must share the TRUTH about what is happening here in America.

He has enjoyed enough "fame" now so why keep on keepin' on?

Because he must share the TRUTH about what is happening here in America.

Glenn humbly shared that he has had many sleepless nights, worrying about what is happening to our beloved Republic. He prayed a lot - and continues to pray about all that is transpiring now. Why?

Because he must share the TRUTH about what is happening here in America.

Like him or not, he has helped awaken many people out of their stupor from the Obamamania matrix. Americans are now learning the truth about this bogus POTUS and they are willing to stand up at town hall meetings and oppose the ObamaSCARE HELLcare legislation. Those who have now read the bill realize how CRUCIAL it is to educate others about all the bad stuff in the bill - and they are willing to go out and speak their minds about it.

Glenn asked a pertinent question on his radio show a few moments ago.

What are you willing to die for?

I await readers answers.

Trust your own counsel, turn of the TV---it does a world of good.

  2. OK Anonymous. You gave your opinion about Beck. What about the question?

  3. Recently on his show, Glenn Beck was enjoying a drink with a woman wearing a mask of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He tried to persuade her to drink from the glass, and after she appeared to do so, chuckled and said, "By the way, I put poison in your--no," or words to that effect.

Last time I checked, threatening a public official with death--even in jest--was a federal offense.

Meanwhile, since Beck's tirade that Obama has "a deep-seated hatred for white people' and that he plans "forced reparations" (presumably for African-Americans, because they, unlike Japanese-Americans, never received a formal apology from the government).
Meanwhile, as of this hour (2200 local), Beck's show has lost how many advertisers? Seven, in two days?

Perhaps the question shouldn't be "What are you willing to die for?" but "What are you willing to kill for?" Glenn claims he recently carried his concealed sidearm to the movies. What was he gonna do there--shoot Megatron when he appeared onscreen?

  4. Make that two people who have now shared their opinions about Beck.

    What about the question?

  5. Well, despite the greater number (?) of readers on this blog, none of them--even the most devout--have bothered to respond. So, I will.

Maybe there is nothing that any of them are willing to die for. When I joined the military, I did not take an oath to die for the nation. My oath was to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, to bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and to obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Willingness to die was only implied; it was not required. I was (and am) willing to die to defend my family and friends against criminal violence; I'd even be willing to kill to prevent that. But I'd rather not have to do either one.
But it's easier and more dramatic to die for someone than to have to live with them. Can YOU do it, hostess?

For more than a year now, you've spewed out anti-Democrat, anti-Obama venom like you owned the patent on it. You DARE to repeat Beck's "What are you willing to die for?" without answering it yourself. (You never mentioned if Beck answered it HIMself--I suspect he didn't.) Haven't you ever heard of 'leading by example'? Supposedly, your Christ practiced it--why can't you? If you feel so strongly on whatever has your knickers in a twist at that moment, why don't YOU declare what, if anything, you're willing to die for?
If you're willing to die for your God, then what makes you any different from, say, Muhammad Atta? He both died and killed for his!
If you're willing to die for something less, why can't you say so?
I will tell you why. It's because you are a moral coward.

Remember the headlines last week about all those people lined up in Los Angeles to receive free medical treatment? They weren't all illegal immigrants, nor all welfare slackers. Many of them were people who were down on their luck--and a surprising number of them were likely men who, like me, had taken the Oath years and years ago. People who aren't healthy find it hard to get (or hold) a job, and people who can't hold a job find it hard to get healthy. Where's your concern about them?
IMHO, the best way to show your God how much you love him is to show your fellow men how much you love them. All religions preach that, but none of them really practice it.

Beck's question, and your parotting of it, is an insult to any thinking, compassionate person. Beck's about the same age as I; he would have been old enough for Vietnam service. What division did he serve in? And by what right does a guy whose income is in six figures ask me what I'm willing to die for?

You and he both should go look in the mirror and ask that question.

"Fear prophets...and those prepared to die for the truth, for as a rule they make many others die with them, often before them, at times instead of them."

  6. GM,

Thank you for answering the question - and for spewing your own form of venom at me.

After all these years - you appear to know even less about me than you did from the start. It goes to show that there is a huge difference between observation of a person vs. really listening to what they have to say.

    Have a nice day...

  7. You're welcome. It appears we're both guilty of that offense.

Now, how about answering the question I asked you? What are you willing to die for?
Having the effrontery to ask others that question, without answering it yourself shows a lot of that 'pride' you so despise.

Once again, all these passionate, conservative, Bible-believing boosters who dwell here have gone strangely silent. Are you one of them?

  8. What if I choose to be silent about the issue as well? Does that make you a better person than I?

Just because you answered the question and no one else chose to do so, does that make them "bad people" or "moral cowards?"

Why have you singled out "all these passionate, conservative, Bible-believing boosters who dwell here" in your rant but haven't called out the atheists, agnostics, Jews, Muslims (except for one terrorist), and those of every other religious persuasion on this earth who probably read this blog?

Oh wait...I remember what choosing not to answer a question is called. Do you? Here's a hint: it starts with an "F."

Ironically, it happens to be a word that rarely, if ever, is uttered by Obama.

  9. Oh, I see. You don't answer because you don't know what you're willing to die for, and you hoped that someone might give you a clue!

Sorry, hostess, but you'll have to find that out on your own.

As for that F-word: I don't usually utter "fox" in everyday speech, either.

  10. GM,

The answer is so obvious, yet you refuse to see.

There is no reason for me to die for anyone. Someone already has - for everyone, in fact.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
    Romans 5:8

As Dr. David Jeremiah once put it:

But there is one person who understood injustice very well. After being falsely accused and beaten, Jesus hung on a cross to die for sins He never committed. It was the ultimate injustice, and yet in the end, it brought about justice for all of us.

Christians love justice, righteousness, truth and the unfailing love of God. We also are grateful for the forgiveness pf our sins through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ who willingly went to the cross for our sakes - that is love and mercy.

The word that I was referring to was FREEDOM. That is the word that Obama rarely, if ever, utters. Have you ever asked yourself why this is so?

Unfortunately, Obama is also a proponent of much evil. God's Word instructs us to "hate evil and love what is good."

Amo 5:15 Hate evil and love what is good; remodel your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on his people who remain.

God's grace and unfathomable love for us is so evident in His Word and through His Son, Jesus Christ. No matter what happens to us physically here on this earth, believers in Christ have the promise of eternal life:

2Jo 1:3 May grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God our Father and from Jesus Christ his Son, be with us who live in truth and love.

Jud 1:21 Live in such a way that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you.

Any two-bit politician can utter the word "freedom" (and many do, including those who don't believe in it). I'm more interested in what he does about freedom.

Unfortunately, Obama is also a proponent of much evil. God's Word instructs us to "hate evil and love what is good."
God's Word also instructs us about "not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments". Oh, my.

"Amo 5:15 Hate evil and love what is good; remodel your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on his people who remain."
"Perhaps"? Oh, that's right: it's a 'blessed hope', not a blessed 'certainty'.

"God's grace and unfathomable love for us is so evident in His Word and through His Son, Jesus Christ. No matter what happens to us physically here on this earth, believers in Christ have the promise of eternal life:

If you believe that, then why all the crap about Obama?
YOU believe it'll all work out in the end, just as God the Father planned, while I have to try to set things right here and now, since I have no expectations of a blissful Beyond.

You may be living in 'truth and love', but there's not much of either in evidence here. If you have to advertise it, it ain't there.
