I do not always agree with what Newt Gingrich writes or everything he says during interviews on Fox News and conservative radio talk shows. I especially hated the fact that he chose to appear in a commercial on the farcical global warming hoax with Nancy PeLIARsi a few years ago.
With that said, I must admit that he is dead-straight-on and correct about everything he included in the following article from the Fox News Channel website.
NEWT GINGRICH: We Have Only Just Begun to Fight
By Newt Gingrich
- FOXNews.com
The American people will not allow a corrupt machine to dictate their future. Together we will pledge to repeal this health care bill and start over. This will not stand.
This will not stand.
No one should be confused about the outcome of Sunday's vote. This is not the end of the fight it is the beginning of the fight.
The American people spoke decisively against a big government, high tax, Washington knows best, pro-trial lawyer centralized bureaucratic health system.
In every recent poll the vast majority of Americans opposed this monstrosity.
Speaker Pelosi knew the country was against the bill. That is why she kept her members trapped in Washington and forced a vote on Sunday. She knew if she let the members go home their constituents would convince them to vote no.
The Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine combined the radicalism of Alinsky, the corruption of Springfield and the machine power politics of Chicago.
Sunday was a pressured, bought, intimidated vote worthy of Hugo Chavez but unworthy of the United States of America.
It is hard to imagine how much pressure they brought to bear on Congressman Stupak (D-Mich.) to get him to accept a cynical, phony, clearly illegal and unconstitutional executive order on abortion. The ruthlessness and inhumanity of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine was most clearly on display in their public humiliation of Stupak.
The real principles of the machine were articulated by Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings who was impeached and removed from the bench as a federal judge, before being elected to the House when he said, "There ain't no rules here, we're trying to accomplish something. . . .All this talk about rules. . . .When the deal goes down . . . we make 'em up as we go along."
It is hard for the American people to believe their leaders on the left are this bad.
They are.
The American people will not allow a corrupt machine to dictate their future.
Together we will pledge to repeal this bill and start over.
Together we will prove that this will not stand.
2010 and 2012 will be among the most important elections in American history. These elections will allow us to save America from a left-wing machine of unparalleled corruption arrogance and cynicism.
Sunday was one more step in the fight against a "Washington knows best" and "Washington should run everything" attitude.
Let us turn now to the Senate to continue this fight for real reform, for real self government, and for policies that create jobs, improve health outcomes, and increase freedom.
Newt Gingrich is the former Speaker of the House. He is a Fox News contributor and founder of the Center for Health Transformation. The Center for Health Transformation is a high-impact collaboration of private and public sector leaders committed to creating a 21st Century Intelligent Health System that saves lives and saves money for all Americans. CHT is based on the following premise: Small changes or reactionary fixes to separate pieces of the current system have not and will not work. We need a system-wide transformation. Unlike other alliances, CHT unites stakeholders across the spectrum (providers, employers, vendors, trade associations, disease groups, think tanks) and government leaders at both the state and federal level to drive transformation according to a shared vision and key principles.
Fox Forum is on Twitter. Follow us @fxnopinion.
P.S. I cannot, at this time, completely endorse the CHT (Center for Health Transformation) until I do more research on the organization. It is mentioned here in the credits about Newt Gingrich to show that he is actively involved in a type of health transformation organization for the United States of America that is not based on socialism. From what I have heard (so far), the CHT doesn't appear to go against the wishes of We The People, the Constitution of the United States of America, the Declaration of Independence, or what our Founders intended for our Constitutional Republic.

You forgot to mention that Gingrich is a poor novelist, too; even with the help of William Forstchen (whose Lost Regiment series is a treat), his 'ideas' remain a mile wide and an inch deep.
ReplyDeleteHis “This Will Not Stand” is yet another one.
Remember the time he tried to shut the government down? How'd that work out?
Gingrich has a long history of getting into staring contests...and he always blinks first.
Ever since he had to step down as Speaker of the House, he's been plotting a return. He made noises about running for president on '08 but couldn't generate enough interest; he wants to run now, and sees this as his chance to lead the (currently) nonexistent pack.
But he'll fail again. He has no endurance for a long fight, and a lifetime of being an attack dog is ill-suited in a leader.
“This Will Not Stand” will not stand. I'll meekly come and eat crow six months from now if I'm wrong, but I don't think that'll happen. How about you?
I don't always agree with Newt Gingrich either. But, I do agree with him this time. Obama was all buddy-buddy with Chavez last year. I think Obama looks up to Chavez. But, yes, what the Congress did on Sunday was despicable and Hugo Chavez style. We the people will make sure that the bill is repealed.
ReplyDeleteI found it totally funny when Gingrich said "Sunday was one more step in the fight against a "Washington knows best" and "Washington should run everything" attitude." This is coming from an ex-Speaker of the House! He seems to forget when he was in control...
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the Republicans are now going to work on taking away the health insurance of millions and millions of Americans now that they have it (or will soon have it). I imagine it won't make them very popular.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I have been going back and forth about whether or not ObaMAO HELLcare will be overturned.
1. I had some hope when I heard that many states are challenging the "you must buy health insurance or be fined" part of the bill. But then I heard that the Obama Admin. may get away with it because they put the IRS in charge of it and can claim that it is just another tax.
2. Then, I had some hope when I heard that the Republicans in the Senate will challenge it via putting in changes to the reconciliation bill and forcing it back for a vote in the House. Heard that because the "reconciliation" method was used, only a 51 member vote is needed.
3. Perhaps the last hope is what Gingrich stated on Hannity tonight. When the Republicans get back into power in Nov. 2010, they can vote against budget funding of the bill.
Nonetheless, one never knows what the Supreme Court will do in this case. The vote will probably be 5-4, with Kennedy as the swing, deciding vote. We shall see.
Kevin,
ReplyDeleteWhen the people who are now cheering this thing find out that in order to pay for this massive entitlement program, a national sales tax (Charles Krauthammer's opinion) will need to be implemented (because taxing the rich won't bring in enough funds to pay for it) which will affect EVERY AMERICAN who buys anything; their cheers may turn into huge groans and jeers.
However, by Jan. 20, 2013, (which is well before most of the benefits kick in) the end of the Obama error will happen when he is voted out of office and the new Republican president (I think Paul Ryan or Eric Cantor might be good choices) will fix things - similarly to when Reagan came in and fixed the Jimma Carter mess. History does indeed repeat itself!
Hi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteI think it's so funny that Obama was "buddy buddy" with Chavez in the beginning of Obama's Residency at the White House. But then, Chavez mocked Obama and said that the podium at the United Nations "smelled like sulfur" after Obama spoke there - which is the exact same thing that crazy maniac said about President George W. Bush!
They are both clowns - Chavez and Obama - and deserve each other! Ha!
Hi Christine,
ReplyDeleteBut when Reagan came in he issued the largest tax increase in modern times!
