Obama & RINOS: Lethal for America

To be honest, I don't really know whether or not this "Ulsterman" character has any genuine inside information about the White House and Obama. I don't know whether or not he is telling the truth. I don't know whether or not he can be trusted. But one thing I do know is that I was just as angry and surprised to read about Congressman Darrell Issa's 180 degree turn to NOT investigate many of the crimes that have occurred with this far leftist socialist Marxist thug of a pResident in the White House and his puppeteer cronies. The constant activities that are going on to destroy our economy, capitalism, our freedoms and liberty, and keep many Americans unemployed so that they will be forever dependent on government; the adding of trillions to the debt, the desire to keep spending, the refusal to repeal ObamaSCARE despite the FACT THAT IT WAS RULED UNCONSTITUTIONAL BY A FLORIDA FEDERAL JUDGE shows that these people in charge are not loyal patriotic Americans. They are out to destroy our way of life.

Before I post the link to the Ulsterman article, how ironic is it that Obama finally allowed one company to resume drilling in the Gulf after ignoring a judge's orders for 7 months; but about one hour before Glenn Beck was going to report and expose this on his show, the ban was lifted? It's such a coincidence that makes you go hmmmmm!!

Back to Issa. I don't usually read the newspaper, but when I read a back issue a few days ago and found out that Issa now wants to support this pResident, I almost choked on my coffee!!! What an absolute disappointment RINO Issa has already turned out to be!!!!

Because of the above article, I am led to believe that this "Ulsterman Insider" might be the real deal. However, who can trust anyone anymore in this bizarro world of the fraud a.k.a. the Islamofascist ObaMarxist and his anti-Israel, anti-American, anti- U.S. Constitution, pro-deficit antics to destroy our nation and his anti-drilling, job killing policies who should be in jail rather than in the Oval Office of the people's White House? [I know that sentence is a grammatical atrocity, but so is ObamaFRAUD so I'm keeping it as is.]

Newsflavor:White House Insider: Republicans are a Bunch of Spineless Pukes

Obama thuggery and RINOS are a lethal combination for the future of America.

I truly pray that Americans who aren't paying attention, or, are not yet concerned about the huge amount of dangers we are witnessing from this dreadful administration will WAKE UP before it's too late!

Hat tips to all links.

Update:

Just after writing this post, I was led to continue reading "Decision Points" by George W. Bush. The last time I picked up the book, I left off on page 368. The following is what I just read this evening:

I drew strength from family, friends, and faith. When we visited Camp David, Laura and I loved to worship with military families at the base's chapel. The chaplain in 2006, forty-eight-year-old Navy Lieutenant Commander Stan Fornea, was one of the best preachers I've ever heard. "Evil is real, biblical, and prevalent," he said in one sermon. "Some ignore it, some say it doesn't exist. But evil must not be ignored, it must be restrained." He quoted Sir Edmund Burke, the eighteenth-century British leader: "The only thing needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Stan believed that the answer to evil was freedom. He also knew that there would be a cost. "There has never been a noble cause devoid of sacrifice," he said in one sermon. "If freedom is worthy of defense only to the point it costs us nothing then we are in desperate need as a nation."

Above all, Stan was an optimist, and his sense of hope lifted my spirits. "The Scriptures put great premiums on faithfulness, perseverance, and overcoming," he said. "We do not quit or give up. We always believe there is no such thing as a hopeless situation."

Amen!!!

Lesson Learned

The Christian band Jars of Clay always has songs with very deep meaning in the lyrics. I have been listening to their album called "The Long Fall Back To Earth." There are many great songs on the CD. I like some better than others. Some of the songs I grew to like. The following song is one of them:

Lesson one - do not hide
Lesson two - there are right ways to fight
And if you have questions
We can talk through the night

So you know who you are
And you know what you want
I've been where you're going
And it's not that far
it's too far to walk
But you don't have to run
you'll get there in time

Lesson three - you're not alone
Not since I saw you start breathing on your own
You can leave, you can run, this
will still be your home

So you know who you are
And you know what you want
I've been where you're going
And it's not that far
it's too far to walk

But you don't have to run
you'll get there in time
Get there in time

In time, to wonder where the days have gone
In time, to be old enough to
wish that you were young
When good things are unraveling,
bad things come undone
You weather love and lose your innocence

There will be liars and
thieves who take from you
Not to undermine the consequence
But you are not what you do
And when you need it most
I have a hundred reasons why I love you

If you weather love and lose your innocence
Just remember - lesson one

Prophecies Pointing Towards Imminent Return Of Jesus Christ

Yesterday, Joel Rosenberg sent me an email link to his blog that reveals an amazing and prophetic statement by rabbis in Israel. I received the following excerpt in that email, but be sure to go to Joel's blog to read the entire essay.

Joel's essay begins:

A number of influential rabbis say unrest in the Arab world signals the coming of the War of Gog and Magog and the soon coming of the Messiah, reported a leading Israeli news service on Wednesday.

The article is consistent with similar reports in recent years suggesting that a growing number of rabbis believe the War of Gog and Magog and the Messiah are coming soon.

The "similar reports" link is a complete library - in and of itself - of additional links provided by Joel that can be regarded as concrete evidence towards what his blog post yesterday is reporting. Proof is a very good thing to show when making such claims! I will be busy reading those additional reports throughout the day!

Anyone who is familiar with the Bible, particularly end times prophecy, knows that the chaos that is happening around the world was predicted thousands of years ago and recorded in certain prophetic books of the Bible such as Ezekiel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Jude, Revelation and others.

There are so many end times prophecy books that are really good. Joel Rosenberg (see his blog) has written several. I have mentioned many good books (seek out books by the following authors: Dr. David Jeremiah, Ed Hindson, Grant R. Jeffrey, to name a few) over the course of five years as a blogger here at Talk Wisdom. However, there is one book on my shelf that I haven't completely read yet. It is called "Every Prophecy of the Bible" by John F. Walvoord. Although I haven't read it cover to cover , it is certainly a great reference guide that reveals all of the prophecies of the Bible. It might serve as a good "crash course" for anyone interested in end times prophecy. The book is divided into sections that include prophecies regarding the coming Messiah in the Old Testament, and how those prophesies were fulfilled by Jesus Christ in the New Testament; as well as the prophetic books containing verses that deal with the end times.

On to Joel's essay!

In Christ,
Christine

RABBIS SAY ARAB UNREST SIGNALS MESSIAH COMING SOON

Also: revolution building in Libya, "Inside The Revolution" now in paperback, details on blog.

By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C., February 23, 2011) -- A number of influential rabbis say unrest in the Arab world signals the coming of the War of Gog and Magog and the soon coming of the Messiah, reported a leading Israeli news service on Wednesday.

Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, described in the Ynet article as an "unconventional Lithuanian leader who is believed to have mystic powers," recently spoke of the tumultuous events underway in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Iran and elsewhere in the Middle East. "People have come to me and said that it's 'Gog and Magog,'" he said. "We cannot know. But it's probable that any unrest that God creates shows that the Messiah is coming, and that we must begin to prepare for it and become stronger."

On this, I agree with Rabbi Steinman -- the War of Gog and Magog is approaching, the Messiah is coming, and we must be prepared and become stronger spiritually as the Lord's return draws near. Indeed, these will be central themes of the 2011 Epicenter Conference in Jerusalem this May. That said, I suspect the Rabbi and I disagree on the Messiah's identity. That's a good discussion to engage, particularly now. The Hebrew prophets told us the Messiah would be.....

Outlive Our Earthly Lives

A brief post today, but one that I found especially important and inspiring. In the book of Acts, Peter was being asked by a crippled beggar for some silver or gold coins.

Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk" And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them--walking, leaping, and praising God. (Acts 3:4-8)

Max Lucado writes in his new book, Out Live Your Life:

What if Peter had said, "Since I don't have any silver or gold, I'll keep my mouth shut? But he didn't. He placed his mustard-seed-sized deed (a look and a touch) in the soil of God's love And look what happened.

It is interesting to note that the beggar didn't thank Peter for the healing - he at least knew enough to thank God for it!

Other beggars wanted healing. They watched the cripple dance and exclaimed, "I want my healing! Touch me!"

Lucado:

So Peter complied. He escorted them to the clinic of the Great Physician and invited them to take a seat. "His name,...faith in His name, has made this man strong...Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins my be blotted out, so that time of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (vv. 16,19)

Blotted out is a translation of a Greek term that means "to obliterate" or "erase completely." Faith in Christ, Peter explained, leads to a clean slate with God. What Jesus did for the legs of this cripple, he does for our souls. Brand-new!

The Bible verse that tells us that we all "fade as a leaf" in this world indicates that our time here is quite brief - especially compared to all of eternity.

Isa 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousness's are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.

It is because of our iniquities that we needed a Savior, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place in order that we could repent and be reconciled back unto God.

The story from the book of Acts in the Bible demonstrates the absolute fact that salvation is something we take with us, while money, possessions, fame, education, clothing, food, and everything else that we could do, accomplish, earn and utilize on this earth are all temporary; just items that we leave behind at our death.

However, the love of God and our love for others we take with us into God's kingdom! That is why our own personal salvation and the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ for the sake of salvation for others is our daily duty as Christians.

The final commandment that Jesus gave his followers before he ascended back to God the Father was the Great Commission. (see Matthew 28 below).

Lucado:

An honest look led to a helping hand that led to a conversation about eternity. Works done in God's name long outlive our earthly lives. (bold mine)

Mat 28:1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

Mat 28:2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

Mat 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

Mat 28:4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

Mat 28:5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

Mat 28:6 "He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Mat 28:7 "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."

Mat 28:8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

Mat 28:9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.

Mat 28:10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."

Mat 28:11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened.

Mat 28:12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,

Mat 28:13 saying, "Tell them, 'His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.'

Mat 28:14 "And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will appease him and make you secure."

Mat 28:15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them.

Mat 28:17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Mat 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Truth Is What Is Unequivocally True

There is so much turmoil and chaos going on in the world today. It is difficult to focus on just one topic at a time. But focus we must if we are to truly understand what is really happening.

For many people, the truth is a relative concept. Political correctness gone crazy is mostly the culprit. Without the foundation of God's Word, the Bible, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit (Who guides us into all truth), it can be very difficult for individuals to discern truth from error.

The prophecies on the end times in the Bible are occuring now at an alarmingly rapid rate. It would behove us all to pay close attention to them. But you most likely will not get such information from the Media of Mass Deception, except for a few news analyst shows on the Fox News Channel.

That is why the new media - blogs - are so vital to finding out the truth. The spin that seems to rule the airwaves in most newsroom circles is very disturbing. That is why many people are turning to the Internet and blogs to find out what the Lamestream media refuses to report.

For example. The following link to a blog post at American Thinker reiterates my point:

Can Truth Prevail in a Culture of Spin?
posted by null at American Thinker - 9 hours ago
Truth is what is unequivocally true. It is not constrained by ideology, creed, or spin.

Glenn Beck is quoted as saying, "The truth doesn't have an agenda."

But the spinmeisters do have an agenda. And most of it leads (unfortunately) to evil.

The five comments over at the American Thinker link (as of 2/19 at 8:29 a.m.) are quite excellent as well.

I applaud the author for the spirit of this article. It can be difficult sometimes not to despair when one sees and hears the million blatant and obvious lies all around us. The chuzpah with which politicians and "journalists" take us for fools is breathtaking and it seems to be getting worse with accelerating speed. With all the lies and propaganda, will people realize when they are being robbed of their money, of their freedom, their rights and essentially their culture? The Europeans never did. It seems a lot of Americans do. God bless the United States of America!

Re: “the co-opting of the academic community”

The government didn’t co-opted the academic community; THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY CO-OPTED GOVERNMENT. The academy is where all ideas originate. Not wanting to appear un-enlightened, members of government and business adopt its ideas. That’s where multiculturalism came from. By taking over, liberals in the academy have replaced the pursuit of truth with political advocacy [archive.frontpagemag.com] , namely of ideas everyone is afraid to challenge for fear of being accused of not being worthy of their position.

Lay this article over the pages of Atlas Shrugged and see if you can find much difference. No, the author is not trying to plagiarize the story, she's simply reporting on the reality of the day and it just so happens to be frighteningly similar.

An interesting article. What you are describing here is the process of becoming a third world country. Our venal, corrupt, collectivist, hack politicians and bureaucrats would rather rule in a third world country than serve in a first world one.

That last sentence reminds me of John Milton in Paradise Lost, who has Satan saying this quote on his expulsion from Heaven:

"It is better to reign in hell than to serve in
heaven."

Considering the fact that Jesus warned us in the Bible to avoid hell even more than he spoke about heaven, I'd take Jesus' advice over Milton's or satan's.

The link in the third comment above to a FrontPageMagazine.com article is excellent and well worth the time to read it.

Excerpt:

Advocacy and activism have their legitimate roles in the political sphere. But it has long been the consensus of higher educators that the core mission of colleges and universities, apart from research, is education. This was made clear in the founding statement of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) in 1915, and more recently in a landmark brief submitted to the Supreme Court by the American Council on Education (ACE) and fifty-three other academic associations, including the AAUP, in the 2003 case of Gratz v Bollinger, which stresses that the purpose of education is to instill the capacity for independent thought.

“Educators believe that developing the powers of analysis in this way is not merely one among many skills to be taught; it is the chief skill, because on it rests understanding and freedom. Socrates thought knowledge and freedom so essential, and so dependent on close reasoning, that the unexamined life is not worth living. The purpose of education, held the Stoics who carried his idea forward, is to confront the student’s passivity, challenging the student’s mind to take charge of its own thought. To strengthen the ability to reason is to enable the student to determine what to believe, what to say, and what to do, rather than merely to parrot thoughts, words, and actions of convention, friends or family.”

Since education and advocacy (to say nothing of activism) are thus antithetical to each other, serious issues are raised when universities and their subdivisions engage in advocacy and activism. Such actions undermine educational purpose and fall outside of authorized mission. Indeed, they transform education into indoctrination.

Unfortunately, advocacy and activism are well established in the public university systems of Pennsylvania, often announcing themselves boldly in department and program mission statements. That such announcements are considered acceptable is a strong indicator of how deeply the academic culture of the component institutions has, in some respects, been deformed.

The difference between the kind of education which allows the freedom of students to think through any issue and be presented both sides before forming an opinion or analysis of such, and the advocacy/activism that is currently going on via the majority of leftist (some socialist and even communist!) professors who mostly adhere to indoctrination of students to be puppets of their own beliefs is quite evident and exposed for all to see through what is happening in our own country when so many young people were fooled to vote for Obama and his undefined "change" mantra. Well, all of America is now suffering at the hands of the kooks and thugs that used to only protest at rallies in places like San Francisco, but are now running (and ruining our nation) things in our current socialist/Islamo-fascist/communist/and radical union leader advocating government.

But you don't need to take my word for it. Read these blog posts:

AHMADINEJAD SAYS "THE FINAL MOVE HAS BEGUN," GLOBAL REVOLUTION MANAGED BY THE TWELFTH IMAM

* Anne Graham Lotz has written an excellent column on "Prayer for Egyptian Believers" now posted at www.joshuafund.net

By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C., February 18, 2011) -- Quick update before the Iran story: Mahmoud Abbas is trying to force a U.N. vote to condemn Israel for building "settlements" on territory the Palestinians claim is theirs but refuse to sign a peace treaty to get. The good news: the Obama administration is threatening to veto the resolution if it comes before the Security Council. The bad news: the U.S. is proposing to condemn Israel in a different manner to appease Abbas and the Islamic world.

"The U.S. informed Arab governments Tuesday that it will support a U.N. Security Council statement reaffirming that the 15-nation body 'does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity,' a move aimed at avoiding the prospect of having to veto a stronger Palestinian resolution calling the settlements illegal," reports Foreign Policy magazine in a story posted on its website. Unbelievable. Way to treat our only true democratic and stable ally in the Mideast. I'm posting updates on the blog as the story develops.

Now, back to Iran.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is telling the people of Iran that the Twelfth Imam is managing the the revolution now underway in Egypt and in various parts of the Islamic world, and that "the final move has begun" to destroy America, Israel and the influence of the Western powers in the epicenter.

"We will soon see a new Middle East materialising without America and the Zionist regime and there will be no room for world arrogance (the West) in it," Ahmadinejad told a crowd chanting "Death to America, death to Israel and death to Mubarak" last Friday. Agence France Presse reported that "in his fiery style, Ahmadinejad, showed his messianic beliefs on Friday, saying the world was witnessing a revolution managed by Imam Mahdi, the 12 Shiite imam who disappeared as a five-year-old in the 10th century and who Shiites believe would return on the judgement day."

"The final move has begun," said Ahmadinejad. "We are in the middle of a world revolution managed by this dear (12th Imam). A great awakening is unfolding. One can witness the hand of Imam in managing it."

The Twelfth Imam and Iranian eschatology are topics that deserve more attention than they are getting from the media or our government officials. Let us pray that our leaders wake up to the true gravity of the threat posed by Iran's apocalyptic regime before it is too late.

UPDATES:

* Yesterday, Glenn Beck devoted an entire one-hour program to the topic of the Twelfth Imam, which I was glad to be able to assist with. I've posted a link to a YouTube clip from the program on my blog. My comments are part of a video segment that begins at 6:22 minutes into that clip. I was glad to see other people interviewed for the program included Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former Delta Force commander Lt.-Gen. (ret) Jerry Boykin.

Please take a moment to read it and share it with others.

Sharing The Bread Of Life

I just began reading Max Lucado's latest book, "Outlive Your Life - You Were Made to Make a Difference." It was one of the gifts that my son bought me for Christmas. Since I had two other books to read before getting to this one, it has taken me two months to start Lucado's book.

I really enjoy Lucado's writing style. He always places some humorous anecdotes in his books while revealing profound truth about living the Christian life that Jesus would have us live. Even though I am only on page 40, the book has already had a great impact on my life.

After reading several pages of Lucado's book, I decided to go online and read what has been published on some of my favorite blogs. However, I got that usual annoying message that my borrowed laptop was "in need of repair." I wanted to skip over that, so I clicked on the choice "start windows manually." Well, after looking at a blank dark screen (except for the tiny "Microsoft" trademark message at the bottom of the page) for fifteen minutes, I decided it might be a good idea to listen to the recommendation to start up using the repair mode. So, I shut the computer off, restarted it, and this time I clicked on the "start up repair (recommended)" icon.

After watching the repair message at work for what seemed like 15 more minutes, I clicked on the choice to "cancel repair." Well...I must have waited too long because the message I got said something like this:

"The current repair session cannot be cancelled."

Lucky for me, it only took about five more minutes for the repair to be completed. I still had a bit of trouble. My computer was supposed to restart on it's own, but nothing was happening so I shut it off myself and then restarted it.

I thought about the statement, "the current repair session cannot be cancelled" and thought of God's mercy and grace through the cross of Christ. It must have been because I was reading Max Lucado's book that I drew a parallel between the computer message and God's message to mankind.

I have often stated here at this blog that Mercy is God withholding what we do deserve, and Grace is God giving us what we don't deserve. The gospel of salvation through the cross of Christ is the world's "current repair session that cannot be cancelled."

In chapter four, Lucado shares a humorous story about going on an errand, at the request of his wife, to buy bread at the grocery store. When he gets there, he collects his favorite cereal, milk, Oreo cookies, barbecue chips (does this guy love junk food or what??) and some ice cream. He checked out and went home. His wife looks at the purchases and then asked, "where's the bread?"

Max had forgotten the big item.

"The one thing I went to get. The one essential product. I forgot the bread."

Lucado goes on to write:

Might we make the same mistake in a more critical arena? In an effort to do good, we can get distracted. We feed people. We encourage, heal, help, and serve. We address racial issues and poverty. Yet there is one duty we must fulfill. We can't forget the bread.

Peter didn't.

Now, listen to what I have to say about Jesus from Nazareth. God proved that he sent Jesus to you by having him work miracles, wonders, and signs. All of you now this. God had already planned and decided that Jesus would be handed over to you. So you took him and had evil men put him to death on a cross. But God set him free from death and raised him to life. Death could not hold him in its power. (Acts 2:22-24 CEV).

[Peter] would eventually speak about poverty. The church would soon address the issues of widows, disease, and bigotry. But not yet. The first order of the church's first sermon was this: pardon for all our sins. Peter delivered the bread.

[Would] you consider the offer of Jesus? "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again" (John 6:35 NLT).

Max Lucado gives us some insight into what it takes to make bread.

The grain-to-bread process is a demanding one. The seed must be planted before it can grow. When the grain is ripe, it must be cut down and ground into flour. Before it can become bread, it must pass through the oven. Bread is the end result of planting, harvesting, and heating.

Jesus endured an identical process. He was born into this world. He was cut down, bruised, and beaten on the threshing floor of Calvary. He passed through the fire of God's wrath, for our sake. He "suffered because of others' sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all--was put to death and then made alive--to bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18 MSG).

Bread of Life? Jesus lived up to the title. But an unopened loaf does a person no good. Have you received the bread? Have you received God's forgiveness?

What an awesome and powerful analogy!

Our God is a God of second chances! If we will simply believe that Jesus is who He said He is - the Son of God, Savior and Lord, and we confess our sins at the foot of the cross of Calvary and accept him as Lord and Savior of our lives, we will be forgiven and saved. People, make sure that you receive the Bread of Life of Christ Jesus. The ONLY Bread of Life that really matters now and will ultimately matter in eternity.

Someone very dear to me and my family passed away in January. I can't know for sure if this family member was saved, but I tried my best to witness to her over the course of 15 or more years.

I usually do not share detailed personal information at this blog, but I will state that in the eulogy that I wrote for the funeral, I was led to share the gospel of Christ for the sake of the people attending. I do not know if what I said encouraged anyone there who is not yet saved to receive the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior. Perhaps a seed or two were planted. However, when someone dies we realize just how brief this life on earth truly is. The Bible tells us that "it is but a vapor" compared to eternity.

Once a Christian receives the Bread of Life, it is our duty to pass it on. Max Lucado writes:

After all, if we don't, who will? Governments don't feed the soul. The secular relief house can give a bed, a meal, and valuable counsel. But we can give much more. Not just help for this life but hope for the next.

[So] along with cups of water, plates of food, and vials of medicine, let there be the message of sins forgiven and death defeated.

Remember the bread.

The secular world climate these days reveals an open hostility towards Christianity in general, and Jesus Christ in particular. Despite the fact that believers are often ridiculed and hatred is constantly being hurled at us, we must turn our distress, sadness, and fears into boldness so that we continue to be faithful ambassadors for Christ.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" For God made Christ, who never sinned to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:19-21 NLT).

Iran's Dangerous Game

Believe me, I know that what is happening in the Middle East is no "game." If anything, it is a very dangerous game. The warning signs are evident. They have been discussed in thousands of articles and written about in many books. Read and study the book of Revelation (as well as other prophetic books including Ezekiel,**Daniel, Jeremiah, Psalms, Zechariah) in the Bible. You will be prepared, informed, and you will also know the outcome of what is being labeled (by some) as "The Coming Insurrection."

The evil players (like those in Iran) are coming out on the chess board and through utilizing a sleight of hand, they DICTATE what they perceive as their moment of victory. However, Christians know better! Whatever "victory" that they perceive on the horizon will ultimately be short-lived. How do I know? The prophecies of the Bible can be trusted because all 300 or so that were predicted about the coming Messiah were mostly fulfilled in the Person of Jesus Christ at his First Coming into this world. We can look with confidence that the final prophecies regarding Jesus Christ at his Second Coming and the culmination of history at the end of the world (as we know it, prior to the Millennium) will be fulfilled and come to fruition as well. Bottom line...GOD AND ISRAEL WIN!

As for those who would follow the 12th Imam (the Mahdi) in the religion of Islam, the FACT that he would be against Israel and the Jews proves that he will be a type of false prophet against the God of the Bible. Will he be THE Antichrist? I don't know. But he will certainly be a type of antichrist. Jesus warned us in Scripture that there will be (and already are) many antichrists in the world.

1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

1Jo 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
- NKJV - Blue Letter Bible

Meanwhile, we do as Christ commanded. We watch, work, and wait for His glorious appearing. Whether one will be on this earth (physically speaking) or watching from heaven depends on where you are (spiritually speaking) when the Rapture occurs.

Back to the dangerous game.

While reading a fascinating article over at Pam Geller's Atlas Shrugs blog, I noticed several inconsistencies and blatant words of extreme hypocrisy being spewed by the radical Islamic regime's puppet man - that lunatic Iminajihad, and that awful and deadly maniacal Islamic terrorist, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. I found at least 11 instances of inconsistencies and/or displays of hypocrisy. See if you can pick them out (or find more!) in this copy:

US, Israel will soon exit Middle East: Ahmadinejad
Finally, under the Obama regime Iran's genocidal aspirations seem possible.

US, Israel will soon exit Middle East: Ahmadinejad By Mohammad Davari (AFP) – 16 hours ago
TEHRAN — President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Friday that a new Middle East is being created which would be free of the United States and Israel, as he backed the Arab uprisings but warned Egyptians to be watchful of America's "friendly face."

Massive crowds of Iranians, waving flags and chanting "Death to Mubarak!" and "Death to America!" descended on Tehran's Azadi Square (Freedom Square) to listen to the hardliner who lashed out at the West and Israel in a speech marking the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

"We will soon see a new Middle East materialising without America and the Zionist regime and there will be no room for world arrogance (the West) in it," Ahmadinejad told the cheering crowds who gathered despite the cold and cloudy weather.

In a speech directed in good part at the Arab uprisings, Ahmadinejad said Egyptians need to be careful of the United States.

"They (the United States) have adopted a friendly face and saying 'we are friends of people of North Africa and Arab countries', but be watchful and united. You will be victorious," he said.

"Iranian nation is your friend and it is your right to freely choose your path. Iranian nation backs this right of yours."

Iran, which has no diplomatic ties with Egypt, has expressed its support to the uprising there, with supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calling for installing an Islamic regime in the world's most populous Arab nation.

In his fiery style, Ahmadinejad, showed his messianic beliefs on Friday, saying the world was witnessing a revolution managed by Imam Mehdi, the 12 Shiite imam who disappeared as a five-year-old in the 10th century and who Shiites believe would return on the judgement day.

"The final move has begun. We are in the middle of a world revolution managed by this dear (12th Imam). A great awakening is unfolding. One can witness the hand of Imam in managing it," said Ahmadinejad, wearing his trademark jacket.

Ahmadinejad, who has often denied the Holocaust, said the United States is an "accomplice to the oppression of the Zionist regime."

"If you want people to trust you, first of all do not interfere in affairs of the region, including in Tunisia and Egypt. Let them be by themselves," he said.

"Come and take away the Zionist regime which is the source of all crimes... take it away and liberate the region. Free the region and give it to the people and take this regime, which is the child of Satan (the United States), out."

Crowds of Iranians chanted pro-Egypt and anti-US slogans as they participated in the regime-organised anniversary celebrations -- a yearly rallying point for the Islamic regime.

Chants of "Marg bar Mubarak (Death to Mubarak)", "Egyptians, Tunisians, your uprisings are just and we are with you" and "Hosni Mubarak 'mubarak' (congratulations) on the uprising of your people!" were heard in streets of Tehran.

Similar marches were taking place in provincial cities.

The 1979 revolution toppled the monarchy of shah Mohammad Reza, a key US ally in the region. Diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington were broken off soon after and remain so to this day.

"Death to America! Death to Israel!" chanted the crowd as they carried Iranian flags, banners and posters of Iranian revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who led the uprising against the shah, and of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the nation's supreme leader.

The European Union is boycotting events marking the anniversary in protest at the hanging of Zahra Bahrami, an Iranian-Dutch woman executed by Tehran, a diplomatic source said.

The Netherlands has condemned the hanging of Bahrami, who was initially arrested during mass protests over Ahmadinejad's disputed 2009 re-election, which sparked a deadly crackdown, but executed on drug smuggling charges.

Her execution prompted the Dutch government to freeze all diplomatic contact with what it labeled a "barbarous regime" in Iran.

During last year's anniversary rally, Iran's opposition had attempted to stage anti-government demonstrations which were crushed by security forces and the Basij militiamen.

Since then the opposition supporters have stayed off Tehran streets but their leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi have sought to hold a rally on Monday in support of Arab uprisings in the region.

But critics say their plan is to garner their supporters and attempt to stage an anti-government demonstration.

** One book (outside the Bible) that I highly recommend is Dr. David Jeremiah's "What in the World is Going On: Ten Prophetic Clues You Cannot Afford to Ignore."

Chapter Eight: The New Axis of Evil has in depth analysis of Ezekiel's prophecies regarding the coming invasion of Israel by the surrounding Arab nations. It is truly scary to see what this ganging up on Israel will be like. Only God can rescue his people! This fascinating chapter ends with much hope:

(See Ezekiel 39:25-29)

Thus Ezekiel ends his monumental prophecy on a high note, extolling God's tender love and compassion toward His people. No matter how great the evil in men's hearts, no matter how much destruction and death that evil brings about, God's ultimate purpose in confronting that evil, in revealing His glory among the nations and in bringing His own from the lands of the enemy is always to accomplish the salvation of His people.

There is nothing to fear with God in control! Present events will lead to the ultimate accomplishment of God's purposes - and we know what they are through His Living Word, Jesus Christ, and His written Word, the Bible!

Ironic or Planned? Mubarak Resigns On Iranian Regime Anniversary

I have read that in the Muslim world, events occurring on specific dates and anniversaries hold much significance. Yesterday, when it looked like Mubarak would resign as President of Egypt (but then backed away from that claim), I couldn't help but think about how ironic (strike that - how SCARY) it would be if the announcement was being held back until it coincided with the Iranian Regime celebration on the 32nd anniversary of the overthrow of the Shah of Iran (One of Jimmy Carter's worst moments).

We now have witnessed 32 years of evidence on how dreadfully awful THAT turned out for the people of Iran.

I hope and pray that the Muslim Brotherhood (see earlier post here) doesn't get a foothold in Egypt. That would be a VERY BAD OUTCOME.

Here are some blog posts on the announcement:

The Role Of Deception In Islamic Terrorism & Achieving a Caliphate

In the wake of the firestorm of deserved criticism hurled against the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, for his absolutely ridiculous and extremely naive and unintelligent comments regarding the Muslim Brotherhood, I have done some online research and found two very important articles that every American needs to read!

Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs:
Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood: In Their Own Words

Whenever you hear the news organizations discuss the need for Egypt to reform towards democracy, remember this warning from the article above:

Democracy Is Islam's Entryway to Power

I have already posted the following comment in the comment section of my previous post here at Talk Wisdom, but it helps to explain why the term "democracy" can mean different things to different people:

9:50 pm February 10, 2011
Don Bistrow wrote:
Obama likes to use the word Democracy but never in the context of a Constitutional Republic.

He does believe in a “majority” as in “we won.” However, Obama doesn’t care for the system in the United States.

So as Obama calls for a transition to Democracy and his own National Intelligence Director believes the Muslim Brotherhood is secular and has sworn off violence and/or terrorism we do wonder what Mr. Obama is actually asking for.

He and his administration of had conflicting statements and relied on press releases because they failed to have intelligence although they did have information of simmering problems one-year ago in which they ignored the valid warnings.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/08/AR2011020805786.html

Obama has now failed miserably domestically and internationally. He must go.

What an excellent observation! Have you ever heard Obama utter the words "Constitutional Republic" when describing the type of government that was established by the Founders?

Obama likes to use the word Democracy but never in the context of a Constitutional Republic.

Glenn Beck has been describing what the Muslim Brotherhood represents IN THEIR OWN WORDS on video and in written articles all week on his television program. The following article challenges the reader and helps confirm the ignorance of the left who are currently complicit in naively trusting that the Muslim Brotherhood is a so-called "moderate" organization (as Clapper so ignorantly stated).

Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs: The Muslim Brotherhood: A Moderate Islamic Alternative to al-Qaeda or a Partner in Global Jihad?

The second article (above link) is an impressive evaluation of how authors named "Leiken and Brooke" have been duped into believing that the Muslim Brotherhood is (or ever could be) a moderate organization. The following is the concluding thoughts of the author:

Conclusion and Evaluation

The thesis presented by Leiken and Brooke was inspired by impressions received during conversations with members of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose names are not mentioned and who are quoted neither fully nor accurately. It is clear that both Leiken and Brooke were duped by the ambiguity of their interlocutors' rhetoric, which was tailored for Western ears and meant to lull suspicions and hide genuine intentions. Leiken and Brooke were deeply impressed by the support given by the Muslim Brotherhood for "democracy," but they failed to understand that for the Muslim Brotherhood and the West, the word has two completely different meanings. As far as the Muslim Brotherhood is concerned, Islamic rule expresses "true democracy," and that is the only kind to which they are committed.

The Muslim Brotherhood poses a serious threat to the West. It hides behind ambiguous terminology, which makes the organization appear moderate and enables it to operate freely in its host countries, thereby establishing a convenient base from which to disseminate radical Islamic ideology among the growing Muslim communities. Once that has been achieved, demography and radically-minded public opinion will enable the Muslim Brotherhood to take over a government by "democratic" means. That will signal the last day of Western democracy in that country and the installation of an Islamic government, whose objective will be to export radical Islamic rule to other countries, the next step in realizing the vision of a world Caliphate. In Europe the sand is running out, and a showdown with the Muslim Brotherhood is closer than anyone suspects. However, to a certain extent, the focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict delays the realization of Islamic aspirations in Western Europe.

As far as the Muslim Brotherhood is concerned, Spain is an occupied country, as are other regions in Europe that were once under Islamic control. The organization's "pragmatism" is manifested by its willingness to postpone a confrontation until it has garnered sufficient political (or military) power to shake the ruling governments to their foundations and effect a complete reversal. The collapse of the moderate Arab regimes into radical Islamic hands is likely to accelerate the empowering of an Islamic state that regards the West and its culture as the chief enemy.

The Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda differ regarding tactics but share a common strategy. Al-Qaeda favors world Islamic recruitment for a revolution made possible by terrorist attacks and an implacable jihad to destroy the economies of the Western countries and expel Western presence from Muslim regions. The Muslim Brotherhood supports terrorism and jihad against foreign presence in the Islamic world, but its top priority is constructing a Muslim infrastructure in the West that will slowly but surely enable it to rule during the 21st century. The organization's stance is that an Al-Qaeda attack against the West at this time might hamper the Islamic movement's buildup and focus the West on the threat implicit in Muslim communities. However, as far as the final goal is concerned, there are no policy differences between Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. The two organizations have the same objective: to place the entire world under an Islamic caliphate.

The Muslim Brotherhood is involved in terrorism and provides religious Islamic justification for suicide bombing, terrorism, and terrorist attacks against American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Jihad in all its aspects, including military, is perceived as the prime tool in the battle against the West. It is difficult to find a common set of interests for the United States and the Muslim Brotherhood, as do Leiken and Brooke. Collaboration with the Muslim Brotherhood, while turning a blind eye to their intentions, both overt and hidden, is tantamount to paving the way for their "democratic" takeover of the moderate Arab regimes (similar to the bitter experience of the Legislative Council elections in the Palestinian Authority in January 2006) and for harming the United States' most vital interests in the Middle East. It is not easy to understand why Leiken and Brooke have recommended that the American administration consider the Muslim Brotherhood a potential partner, given that the United States is its principal enemy. The organization actively seeks to destroy America's status as a world power and to replace it with an Islamic power whose foreign policy will be based on jihad and the spread of Islam.

If you don't believe the truth that the author of these articles reveals, then take a look at an additional opinion:

Mischaracterization of Muslim Brotherhood by Clapper is Highly Disturbing! [Updates! See Comments!]

Wow! Megyn Kelly's show on Fox News has contained a plethora of important information surrounding what is currently going on in Egypt. If you can find video clips of her show, I would suggest that you view them!

It is being widely reported that Hosni Mubarak is about to step down. It is also being reported that the military will take over rule until new elections happen in the Fall. But who really knows what will happen until we get word directly from Mubarak himself?

Earlier, Obama said a few words about "history being made" in Egypt and that it is coming about through young people who took to the streets to demand democracy in Egypt. Apparently, he was speaking in front of a group of young people in Washington state [correction: Michigan].

I don't know about you, but it often appears to me that Obama isn't really in control of the United States. His lackadaisical attitude comes forth each and every time there is a crisis going on either here in the U.S. or other places around the world.

I would dare say that if President Bush was still in office, he would have expressed concern about Israel. He would have honestly stated what danger Israel would be in if the Muslim Brotherhood took over in that country.

Last evening, I reviewed all of the Glenn Beck Program shows on this issue. It is difficult to ignore the proof that he has shown over the last two weeks. You cannot argue with videos and printed statements that his research team has done about the connections between the Islamic Socialists, all of the socialist/communist/progressive leftist groups who want Social Justice across the globe, and the Muslim Brotherhood who have specifically stated that they want a Muslim Caliphate across the world. Their hatred and desire to destroy Israel and "kill the Jews" has NEVER been rescinded. These facts make the recent statements by James Clapper even more alarming!

Clapper is the current United States National Security Council Advisor. He is of the opinion that the Muslim Brotherhood is a "secular" (meaning, not religious) organization that does not support Al Qaeda or other terrorist groups. Minutes ago, he was called out on Megyn Kelly's show as holding "a deeply naive position" by K.T. McFarland, who is a national security expert, columnist, and commentator.

Update - also see:

The Blaze - Stories
Intel Director: Muslim Brotherhood Has ‘No Overarching Agenda…in Pursuit of Violence’ - In a House Intelligence Committee hearing Thursday morning, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper refused to admit that the Muslim Brotherhood is...

F.B.I. Director Robert Mueller contradicted Clapper. The Muslim Brotherhood is a group that has supported terrorism in the past. Mueller stated that they will further discuss this group in a closed session. The exit of Mubarak would have a significant affect on Israel, and on many of the surrounding countries.

Jamie Smith, former CIA officer says that the Muslim Brotherhood is trying to change their image and become a party of influence in Egypt. They have a history of supporting violence, crafting violence, and carrying out violent acts through various Islamist groups that promote terror. If that takes place, the peaceful relationship that the U.S. has with Egypt would be in jeopardy and so will Israel's safety in the region. We should be deeply concerned. Muslim Brotherhood leaders have been quoted as saying, "If violence is necessary, that should take place." Osama Bin Laden has quoted what the Muslim Brotherhood espouses regarding violence to meet their nefarious goals.

Ultimately, Jamie Smith declares that the mis-characterization of the Muslim Brotherhood is highly disturbing.

I don't know if what I'm about to share holds any significance for the uprising in Egypt, but I found it a bit coincidental. I am currently reading President George W. Bush's new book, "Decision Points" and in the chapter on Iraq which discussed "the decade since the Gulf War resolutions that had demanded Saddam Hussein to disarm, the four years since he had kicked out the weapons inspectors, the six months since President Bush had issued his ultimatum at the U.N., the four months since Resolution 1441 had given Saddam his final opportunity," and three months past the deadline to fully disclose his WMD," President Bush wrote:

"Diplomacy did not feel rushed. It felt like it was taking forever.

Meanwhile, the threats continued. President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt had told Tommy Franks that Iraq had biological weapons and was certain to use them on our troops. He refused to make the allegation in public for fear of inciting the Arab Street. But the intelligence from a Middle Eastern leader who knew Saddam well had an impact on my thinking. Just as there were rises to action, there were risks to inaction as well: Saddam with a biological weapon was a serious threat to us all."

Could it be that this new revelation from Bush's book is just one of the reasons why the people who have been angered who want to oust Mubarak to demonstrate? I guess there is no way to know for sure. But the hatred that has been spewed (by our own media of mass deception and all the leftist crazies) against President Bush over the years of his presidency has most certainly reached the ears, minds, and dark hearts of those who opposed his decision to legitimately go to war in Iraq. Despite what the naysayers have said, objected to, and continue to spew about the decision to go into Iraq, liberating Iraq may have a very important role in what transpires in the Middle East in the near future.

Ambassador Bolton is on the show now.

Bolton (paraphrased here): Perhaps the military sees that it's time for Mubarak to go. They would make clear for 10 days now that they think it's time for the demonstrators to go home.

Once Mubarak makes his statement, we will see how it works out. The military wants the protesters to go home.

The army has shown restraint. 200,000 in the square. What do they all want? The same thing? There are 84.9 million Egyptians not in the square. The military wants to avoid confrontation. The economy is tanking and can't afford for this demonstration to continue.

The dice are being thrown. Risky period here. Won't go from Mubarak regime directly to Jeffersonian democracy. If situation becomes more unstable, the Egyptian/Israeli agreement can be in jeopardy. A lot at stake for America here.

Kelly: Muslim Brotherhood not radical?

Bolton: Pres. Obama said history being made. What Clapper stated was the single most foolish thing that any official has ever made. Should tell the truth. If not, then should have declined to answer the question. Muslim Brotherhood would behave like Hamas. Has moderates around it as a disguise - good camouflage, but has clear agenda to take power and the danger is very real.

Consequences are dire. Verges on mob rule.

Kelly: Egyptian generals are discussing an important announcement immediately. Egypts Supreme Council is looking at this situation and have an announcement to make imminently.

Is there a coup going on? Is there something that is being agreed upon between Mubarak and the military?

Bolton: Military has a huge amount of respect by the people. They want to step into the will of the people. Mubarak has something to say that will inevitably please the protesters. The military is breaking with the protesters, it appears. The military is supported by the U.S. and doing this in an orderly way would be seen by both the U.S. and protesters as a peaceful way to end the demonstration.

The question remains to be seen if what Mubarak says is to their liking. The protesters have sacrificed a lot over the past few weeks, they have the question of whether or not they will be happy with Mubarak's departure and what will take his place.

Heritage Foundation: Want real democracy and real reform? Possible theocracy or radical Islam taking hold in Egypt?

We want real democracy but will it be one person one vote? It can take 10 - 15 years. A vacuum could be made here and the Muslim Brotherhood could sneak someone in who appears moderate but not clear if that will happen. Not sure that the demonstrators will get what they want. A lot of questions out there. The tough stuff may just be beginning. Who is taking power in Egypt?

Kelly: Isn't Egypt dependent on the U.S.? What are the odds of turning away from U.S. and Israel? If the wrong people get in that could happen.

Heritage Foundation spokesperson: If Islamist group gets in it can be anti-Israel, anti-West and can be violent. It is a critical junction in Egypt.

Concern if any radical group comes to power. How realistic? It's an insurgency right now. They don't have a leader right now to take power. Need to consolidate their power. Who is the opposition? Who is leading this movement? Muslim Brotherhood is most organized right now.

What Jesus Makes Known to Us

Morning

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends.

The LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?--It is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.--God hath revealed [them] to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, even, the deep things of God.-- [Even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world to our glory.

Blessed [is the man whom] thou choosest, and causest to approach [to thee, that] he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, [even] of thy holy temple.--The secret of the LORD [is] with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.--I have given to them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatever I command you.

===================================

Evening

Thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone]; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth to an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are built together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.--If indeed ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious. To whom coming, [as to] a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, [and] precious, ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion.

Isa 60:18 Re 21:14 Eph 2:19-22 1Pe 2:3-5 Ps 65:1

Commentary from Christine:

Despite the fact that these devotionals are written in the form of Olde English, they are classic pieces of biblical literature. What makes them so great is that each devotional is chiefly written through the act of quoting directly from the Scriptures.

For example. Let's look at the wording in John 15:15 (using the NIV version throughout this post) -

"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."

Knowing that Jesus is Lord and Master should make us realize that we ought to be called his servants. However, He chooses to call us his friends. Being a friend is a much more intimate relationship than being a servant. In today's world, we could compare the term "servant" as being a subordinate co-worker. Sometimes, even a relationship with a co-worker can grow into a friendship.

What is important in this passage is the reason WHY Jesus can call his followers friends. He said, "for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." Elsewhere in the Bible, Jesus tells us that "I (He) and the Father are One" and "he who has seen me (Jesus) has seen the Father."

Statements like this do not give us any leeway in determining who has the ability to save us from eternal death. Only Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Therefore, those who believe in other religions that exclude Christ as the Son of God are lost.

Jesus never minces his words. The entire chapter of John 15 is blunt and direct about who is saved and who is not. The two main themes within the chapter proclaim what Jesus teaches about the Vine and the Branches, as well as Jesus' warning about the world's hatred.

Here is the entire chapter:

Jhn 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

Jhn 15:2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes [fn] so that it will be even more fruitful.

Jhn 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

Jhn 15:4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Jhn 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Jhn 15:6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Jhn 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

Jhn 15:8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Jhn 15:9 "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.

Jhn 15:10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

Jhn 15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

Jhn 15:12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Jhn 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Jhn 15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command.

Jhn 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Jhn 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

Jhn 15:17 This is my command: Love each other.

Jhn 15:18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.

Jhn 15:19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Jhn 15:20 Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' [fn] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

Jhn 15:21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me.

Jhn 15:22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.

Jhn 15:23 He who hates me hates my Father as well.

Jhn 15:24 If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

Jhn 15:25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason.' [fn]

Jhn 15:26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.

Jhn 15:27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.

Commentary from Christine:

Keep in mind that Jesus was speaking to Jewish believers in Him before he went to the cross. Jesus lived as a Jewish God-man during the Incarnation. When he said the following words to his disciples, the term "Christian" wasn't in existence yet:

Jhn 15:18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.

Jhn 15:19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Today, after the fact of the sacrificial death on the cross of Christ and his subsequent resurrection to life, we can also apply those words to Christian believers.

With all the turmoil happening in Egypt today and the virulent Muslim hatred for Israel and the Jews (especially the Zionists), plus the hatred againt Christ and Christians, we can see what Jesus was referring to when he said, "if the world hates you."

The chosen people of God (my people, Israel) and of God's Son, Jesus Christ, were prophesied in the Bible as being hated. Jesus himself warned us and we have the words written down in Scripture to remind us of that hatred. This is all the more reason to take Jesus' admonition in the following verses seriously:

Jhn 15:4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Jhn 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Jhn 15:6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Apart from Christ, we can do nothing. We must "remain in Him."

Jhn 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

What does this mean? It means that we believe that he is God's Son (1 John 4:15). It means that we receive him as Savior and Lord (John 1:12). It means that we do what God says (1 John 3:24). It means that we continue to believe in the gospel (1 John 2:24. It means that we are to relate in love to the community of believers, Christ's body (John 15:12).

We are to be like a branch attached to the vine. Apart from Christ our efforts are unfruitful.

Keep in mind that the farming analogy in this passage shows how God is glorified when people come into a right relationship with him and begin to "bear much fruit" in their lives.

It is important to know that "bearing fruit" is not limited to soul winning, although that is a very important part due to the commandment of The Great Commission. Bearing fruit also includes answered prayer, joy, and love (as mentioned in John 15:7,11, 12). Galatians 5:22-24 and 2 Peter 1:5-8 describe additional fruit: qualities of Christian character. As you can see, we have our work cut out for us!

At the end of John 15, Jesus offers us much hope. He speaks about the Holy Spirit being given to us to help us endure the unreasonable hatred and evil in the world as well as the hostility many groups and individuals have towards Christ. The Holy Spirit is given two names, Counselor and Spirit of truth. The term 'counselor' conveys the helping, encouraging and strengthening work of the Spirit. 'Spirit of truth' points to the teaching, illuminating and reminding work of the Spirit. As we can see, the Holy Spirit ministers to both our minds and to our hearts.

John 16 is a wonderful passage where Jesus teaches about the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to read and study it.

Once I became a born again Christian, I recognized the fact that the world's value are often the opposite of God's values. This can make a believer feel like a misfit. However, even though life can be very difficult now, one day we will rejoice. As believers in the Messiah, Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior of the universe, we can look with confidence ahead as we keep our eye on the future because we can rely on God's promises! Remembering that the ultimate victory has already been won enables us to keep and claim the peace of Christ. Not the peace that the world gives, but the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding. Even in the most troublesome times we can take heart! For Christ has overcome the world for all eternity.
