Deception, Division, and Destruction Are Satan's Favorite Tools

While reading Dr. David Jeremiah's new book I Never Thought I'd See The Day - Culture at the Crossroads, I have come to realize that the three D's - deception, division, and destruction are Satan's favorite tools in the spiritual war against those who believe in Jesus Christ.

One very obvious example is the current Occupy Wall Street uprisings. There are some people who may have thought that they were protesting for the right reasons. But the truth is, many desperate people who have been out of work for so long have been deceived (and paid) to protest. They are spewing hate, lies, intolerance, and bigotry. They are hell bent on causing deception, division and ultimately destruction. Why? The first reason is because they are being deceived.

Dr. Jeremiah:

Satan is the great deceiver. John 8:44 records Jesus' reply to a group of Jews who were resisting His message. Jesus boldly told them that they were children of their father the devil, and that they were not hearing the truth because their father's native language was lies.

Well, guess who is the main father of lies in the Occupy Wall Street staged protests? None other than George Soros. He has often been described as a mini-me of the anti Christ - and with good reason. Do a Bing search on the man and find out what evil and destruction he has wielded across the world. He is one of the top ten billionaires in the world but uses his money to manipulate others to do his bidding for evil purposes.

Dr. Jeremiah:

Revelation 12:9 refers to Satan as the one "who deceives the whole world," which he does by imitating the work of God with counterfeit and camouflage.

The key thing to realize is that once people fall for those who do Satan's bidding, they are led astray and away from God.

Dr. Jeremiah:

Spiritual deception may be Satan's most insidious weapon in his guerrilla warfare against us. Jesus and the apostles speak of it nearly thirty times in the New Testament. One of Satan's greatest deceptions today is leading people, even Christians, to believe he does not really exist or that he isn't as bad as he's made out to be. The problem is, deceived people don't know they're being deceived! Undetected deception makes us extremely vulnerable because we do not know the enemy is even there, which means we neither watch for nor erect defenses against him. The continual deception of the great deceiver requires constant vigilance and dependence on the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

If a person has not been born again - as Jesus told us was necessary in John 3:3, then THE most powerful weapon against spiritual deception is missing in that person. The Holy Spirit indwells believers and helps to guide them unto all truth through discernment strength when studying the Bible.

I hear people often say that they don't "understand" the Bible, or they "disagree with" some of what the Bible teaches. Why? Because they have not submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Until that happens, the revelation in the Bible that points to Jesus Christ as the long-awaited Messiah will just sound like a "horrible (crucifixion) turned nice story (resurrection) to them.

When I grew up in the Catholic church, Bible study wasn't emphasized as much as the catechism of what the church taught. That is why I was personally confused about the crucifixion of Jesus. I can remember looking up on the front wall of the church, seeing the huge image of Jesus Christ being crucified on the cross and thinking, why did he have to die such an awful death?

My confusion about this remained until I was invited to a Pentecostal church by a friend I had met at work. Previously, I had not known what it meant to be born again.

Years after I took that step, the Lord led me to a Bible study in my neighborhood. It was during the inductive study of the book of John that I re-dedicated myself to Jesus Christ.

Back to the topic.

Dr. Jeremiah:

Satan is the great divider.

Satan has always been a divider. When he was cast out of heaven he divided the angels, taking a third into rebellion with him (Revelation 12:4). He divided the first couple, bringing sin and disharmony between Adam and Eve. He divided the first family, pitting Cain against Abel (Genesis 4:8). In the early Church, Satan influenced the heart of Ananias, dividing his loyalty between God and money (Acts 5:3).

Satan continues all three of these deceptions today. Deception against the goodness of God through dividing people away from Jesus Christ through various ways (i.e. false religions, mocking Christ, atheism, etc.) is increasing at an alarming rate. Dividing couples is seen through the breaking of an oath to a spouse through the rampant divorce rate, adultery and other forms of sexual sin, the killing of babies in the womb through abortion, and the list goes on and on. We see the greed of people and their nefarious activities through the evil use of wealth, which is a sign of division between such a person and God. We know the truth of the saying, "the love of money is the root of all evil." When a person loves money and what he/she can do with it for their own purposes rather than God's purposes, then we see how deception, division, and destruction can occur all around us.

Dr. Jeremiah:

Satan is the great destroyer.

The Bible liken Satan to five different animals:

He is a serpent trying to deceive God's people.
Genesis 3:1
Revelation 12:9

He is a bird trying to despoil God's harvest.
Matthew 13:4:19

He is a wolf trying to defeat God's flock.
John 10:12
Matthew 10:16

He is a lion trying to devour God's children.
1 Peter 5:8

He is a dragon trying to destroy God's Son.
Revelation 12:1-9

Satan is consumed by his obsession to destroy the work of God in the universe, and specifically on Planet Earth.

Dr. Jeremiah goes on to say that Satan will do anything - destroy, wreck, ruin, kill, inflict grief, disease, pain, and anguish - to cause the victim to blame it all on God. Unfortunately, such a strategy often works. But the faithful can stay steadfast through it all because they know Who wins in the end.

Recall all of Satan's attempts to embitter Job? He destroyed everything in Job's life - except Job's faith in God. And when Satan couldn't achieve that, God restored everything that Job had lost.

The thing to remember is what Dr. Jeremiah states here:

"all the evil and destruction inflicted upon us have their ultimate source in Satan, the great destroyer. His evil presence in our world is not God's doing; it is ours. We open the door to him by yielding to his temptation."

The account of Job is an illustration of what we must do today. No matter what happens, we must be steadfast and strong in our faith. I know it's hard - especially when we lose a loved one. But the promises of Jesus Christ lift us up and give us a hope that is beyond anything that this world could possibly offer! Jesus told us that "he is not of this world" (see John 8:23)   Jesus also told us, "in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! For I have overcome the world" (see John 16:33).

Jesus Christ overcame the world at the cross! Confession and repentance of sin and simple faith (like that of a child!) in Him and what He did for the redemption of mankind at the cross is all that is needed.

Every person who ever lived has this choice:

Jos 24:14 "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!

Jos 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Hey, what happened to that Saturday foot-stomp about Google? Have you discovered that the malware designation isn't a wicked Sorosian plot to silence you?

Why is the post gone? Google hasn't the power to take it down; only you can.

That following piece about “The Lord Is My Shield” was written the same day, and quite obviously in the frenzy of learning you'd been 'targeted' by Google. It loses some of its impact without the previous post.

When they've made a mistake, a mature person admits it and apologizes. No sign of that here; just erase the post and pretend it was never written. This is not the way to celebrate our eighth year of association (opposition?), Christine.

GMpilot,

I took it down and resaved it in "draft" mode because I wanted to go through the procedure of requesting that my blog be reconsidered against the improper designation that it "would harm computers." Unfortunately, when I got through all of the pages of instruction, the final page where I could submit such a request would not allow me to send it. Long story short, the page had an indication on it that had a down arrow which should have included all of my blogs on it. Instead, there was nothing listed! I tried to include it in the text of my request, but after typing out what was going on and including the link to Talk Wisdom, the "send" button would not work because I had not placed my blog name in the previously required box. I tried to type it in there but that wasn't allowed. Long story even shorter, it looks like I have no way of contacting blogger for reconsideration.

According to what has happened so far, it looks like I am being forced to change my blog domain. This may take months since I don't know how to do it. For now, I will save the most important posts in Microsoft Word (thank God my husband recently installed the software for me) and then repost them when I decide on a new blog.

I asked my husband whether or not Norton Antivirus software would detect any kind of malware on my blog and he said yes.

However, you could be right about a malware link. Perhaps a commenter placed a link within a comment that was picked up as malware by Google. If that is the case, then it might take forever to find and delete the comment/link!

Lots of questions, not enough answers at this point.

My husband said he would look into it further and try to help me solve this dilemma.

GM,

Since you don't have a blog, you may not reach the following information, so here is what I have found out so far:

1. When I click on the "this site may harm your computer" link, it says the following (with live links, left out here):

Results labeled "This site may harm your computer" We want you to feel safe when you search the web. We're continuously working to identify dangerous sites and increase protection for our users. The following warning message appears beneath the title of search results we've identified as sites that may install malicious software on your computer: "This site may harm your computer."

Example Web Page
This site may harm your computer
This is an example web page. You have reached this page by typing
in examplewebpage.com or examplewebpages.com ...
www.examplewebpage.com/ - Cached - Similar

If you click the title of the result, you'll be shown a page with the following warning message at the top rather than being taken immediately to the webpage in question: "Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!"

You can choose to continue to the site at your own risk by copying and pasting the web address directly in the address bar, then pressing Enter on your keyboard. However, be aware that malicious software is often installed without your knowledge or permission when you visit these sites, and can include programs that delete data on your computer, steal personal information such as passwords and credit card numbers, or alter your search results. For more information on these types of sites, please visit StopBadware.org

If one of these sites downloads malicious software onto your computer, learn how to report malicious downloads and clean your system.

When I click on "learn how to report malicious downloads and clean your system," I found out that ANYONE on blogger could file a false claim on that page!!

This is what the next page states:

Report malicious downloads If you're concerned that a site you visited downloaded malicious software onto your computer, please follow these steps:

1.Remove the malicious programs from your computer. If you're concerned that you've inadvertently acquired some malicious software on your computer, please read our recommendations for cleaning up your system.

When you get to the "report this site" page, all that is required is the URL and a typed in letter box (to prevent software robots doing this). There is an optional description box, then the "submit" button.

So you see, anyone can make a false claim against a site. I wonder if the software "engineers" check out the validity of the reports or just automatically designate the site as dangerous because someone (or several people) reported it that way?

I still think it's very strange that Bing search results and Yahoo search results don't make the same claim that Google does regarding my blog. Very fishy!

Another example. Here's the Google search for "Paul Vallely" that led to my blog - the person ignored the warning and clicked on it anyway:

More proof that my site was unfairly flagged by google!! If there was any malware involved, it would have shown up on the Bing search too. Also, each and every blog post that has been wrongly flagged by google has the Norton "OK" green button next to it which says:

Dear Readers,

I apologize for straying away from the original purpose for this post. But this mystery about my blog being unfaily targeted is still going on. I hope and pray that it can, and will be solved soon.

Meanwhile, I welcome comments regarding the post "Deception, Division, and Destruction Are Satan's Favorite Tools."

Very likely the latter. Like I said, it's not Google's job to police the internet. Have you any idea how many blogs exist in English alone, not counting everywhere else?

Yes, I received the same message you did; it's meant for blog readers, after all. However, StopBadware.org has no affiliation with Google either, and was probably alerted by Google to the supposed complaints about your site.
I wouldn't want to expose anyone I know to some of the vitriol I've read here, but I wouldn't dream of trying to stop it. I have already informed StopBadware.org that you're not a malware-loaded site. (Malevolence, yes, but not malware.)

”Lots of questions, not enough answers at this point.”

Sounded as if you had all the answers on Saturday!

I use an antivirus suite other than Norton, and it cleared you of malware as well. This leads me to believe that you have indeed been spiked, but there's no evidence that Google has done it. I must ask again: you were screaming about the untrustworthiness of Google five years ago, so why are you still using it?? Are there no Christian search engines good enough (or large enough) for your approval? Or is it simply that Google is the 800-pound gorilla in this field, and nearly everyone, even Christians, uses it, so you feel you have to?

Oh, also, I'll be glad to submit my comments regarding the post "Deception, Division, and Destruction Are Satan's Favorite Tools." I hope they don't get lost...

GMpilot said...

As per your request...

Deception, division, and destruction are Satan's favorite tools. But who taught them to Satan?

His former boss, that's who!

God practices deception: He told Adam & Eve not to eat of a certain fruit in Eden, warning them that they would die if they did so (Genesis 3:3).

He gives people bad laws, even requiring the sacrifice of eldest children, so that they may be filled with desolation and know that God is their lord (Ezekiel 20:25~26).

He causes people to believe lies, that they might all be damned (2 Thessalonians 2:11~12).

God practices division. There are too many to list here, but a sample from Matthew will suffice:
Jesus, the purported 'Prince of Peace' declares that peace and harmony is the last thing on his mind (Matthew 10:34~37).

Paul says that every thought must be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Kim Jong Il would approve, at least in principle.

The whole book of Acts is filled with libel against the Jews; libel which has endured for twenty centuries (3:14~15, 5:30, 10:39, 13:45~46, 17:5, 23:12~15). Religion once again divides people.

God practices destruction. In fact, the Bible is full of scenes where God's favorite pastime is destroying people, places, and things. We'll just skip over the Great Flood—we all know that story—and mention a few specifics:

God sends evil spirits to plague people (1Samuel 16:15). Maybe Satan is one of those, in which case he could use the 'Nuremburg Defense'.

Because Ahab refused to slay a man at God's command, God says that Ahab will be the sacrifice instead (1 Kings 20:42), and not just Ahab alone, but all his people.

But this really says it all: God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies (Nahum 1:2).

Satan doesn't even come close. We know who the real expert in deception, division, and destruction is.

GM,

Thank you for sending that notice to StopBadware.org. I'm glad to hear that you were able to send a message to them. I don't know whether or not it will help, but I certainly appreciate the effort on your part!

The inability for me to alert Google about the wrongful report bothers me. I need to find another way to get through to them since the message page I was supposed to utilize didn't list my blogs and therefore would not allow me to report the issue.

I do use Bing - almost all the time. But I can't control was viewers use to get to this site. Like I have said over and over, the Histats information shows me the back links (and what was typed by the searcher to reach Talk Wisdom) and it was when I clicked on the live link to see what page it was listed on in the search, I found the "may harm computer" warning. I don't know how long that message has been there, but my stats have gone down considerably ever since the day I discovered it.

On to your second comment.

You wrote:

Some questions.

Isn't it true that free will allows a person (or angelic being) to CHOOSE to do right or wrong?

If a person or angelic being CHOOSES to do wrong, how is that God's fault?

Can any being have the knowledge of good and evil and NEVER do evil?

Can a good God hate evil, death and sin, yet require it as punishment for those who disobey? If not, then where is justice?

YOu wrote:

God practices deception: He told Adam & Eve not to eat of a certain fruit in Eden, warning them that they would die if they did so (Genesis 3:3).

Ah - but the fact is that they died spiritually - immediately. They later suffered physical death as well, as we all will. You know the reasons why.

You wrote:

This is a classic case of taking two verses of Scripture, interpreting it to fit your anti-God opinion, and not researching what is written before and after these verses.

Here is a concise analysis from the NIV Application Bible notes:

Ezekiel 20:25 notes:

Why would God five them laws that weren't good? This isn't talking about any aspect of the Mosaic law - Ezekiel reinforces that law (20:11, 13,21. Evidently the Jews had taken Exodus 13:12 and 22:29, the dedication of firstborn animals and children, as a justification for child sacrifice to the Canaanite god Molech. God was giving them over to this delusion to get them to acknowledge him, to jar their consciences, and to revitalize their faith (20:46).

You wrote: "
He causes people to believe lies, that they might all be damned (2 Thessalonians 2:11~12)."

Again, the NIV Life Application Bible notes:

This man of lawlessness with his power and miracles will deceive those who have refused to believe God's truth. God gives people freedom to turn their backs on him and believe Satan's lies. (Note from Chris: Another way of say that "God gave them over to their own lusts," etc.) If they say no to the truth they will experience the consequences of their sin.

You wrote:
"God practices division. There are too many to list here, but a sample from Matthew will suffice:
Jesus, the purported 'Prince of Peace' declares that peace and harmony is the last thing on his mind (Matthew 10:34~37)."

Even without using the notes, I will say that Jesus was being honest here. He knew that some would not accept him, his sacrificial death on the cross and subsequent resurrection from the dead. The lack of peace and harmony is because of man's sin and inability to not do evil as a result. Government, other religious people, and even family members can oppose Christ and cause disharmony and a lack of peace.

NIV Life Application Bible notes:

Jesus did not come to bring the kind of peace that glosses over deep differences just for the sake of superficial harmony. Conflict and disagreement will arise between those who choose to follow Christ and those who don't. Yet we can look forward to the day when all conflict will be resolved. For more on Jesus as peacemaker, see Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 5:9, John 14:27.

You wrote:

"Paul says that every thought must be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Kim Jong Il would approve, at least in principle."

Oh gosh GM, you are really slipping with this one! Kim Jong Il isn't God, just thinks he's a god in his own mind.

Gaining the mind of Christ is a spectacular thing! It is something that every Christian needs to work on for his/her entire life!

NIV Life Application notes:

Paul uses military terminology to describe this warfare against sin and Satan. God must be the commander in chief - even our thoughts must be submitted to his control as we lilve for him.

You wrote:

"The whole book of Acts is filled with libel against the Jews; libel which has endured for twenty centuries (3:14~15, 5:30, 10:39, 13:45~46, 17:5, 23:12~15). Religion once again divides people."

I would agree with you that "religion divides people." But true Christianity is a RELATIONSHIP with the Living Lord of the universe - Jesus Christ! As far as your claim of libel against the Jews goes, the opposition described in the book of Acts through imprisonment, beatings, plots, and riots caused by Jews and Gentiles against Christians shows how much they were persecuted. But such opposition actually caused the spread of Christianity!

The NIV Life Application Bible states:

Growth during times of oppression showed that Christianity was not the work of humans, but of God.

As for the rest, the destruction of people due to their sin is THEIR OWN FAULT. This is known as justice. You do believe in justice here on earth, don't you?

Your last comment is typical of the "blame God first" skeptic. It's really a huge shame that you continue to be so deceived by Satan.

GMpilot said...

Christine, when God chooses to “send people strong delusion, that they may believe a lie”, and then destroys them for behavior as a result of believing that lie, whose fault is that? In Exodus, God 'hardened the heart' of Pharaoh. He said he would do it (4:21), he did it again and again (7:3, 7:13, 9:12, 10:1, 10:20 10:27, 11:10 ), and in the end slew him and his army for doing exactly what God wanted him to do. Now you might call that justice, but it's the justice of the kangaroo court.
God says disobedient children are to be put to death! Either your own children were paragons of virtue, or you chose not to strictly follow that rule. Please don't give me that old excuse of “that rule no longer applies.” Right here on this page, at the top of the right-hand column, you have the words “God's Word Stands Forever!” That means all of them...unless you're another 'buffet Christian' who picks and chooses which laws he'll obey. God hates gluttony as much as he hates homosexuality, but I've seen more than a few...um...full-fed Christians.

Dr. Jeremiah likens Satan to, among other animals, a serpent. I wonder how he'd explain this:

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16

Evil things are not usually depicted as wise. Clearly, Jesus did not seem to think the serpent was evil, especially since it had told Eve the truth. She ate the fruit, and did not die. (Genesis says nothing whatever about a 'spiritual death'.)
Oh, and in that same chapter of Matthew, Jesus also tells his disciples to NOT spread the 'good news' to the Gentiles, and especially not to the Samaritans (10:5). His message was only for the Jews, and no one else.

If scripture can be interpreted to fit my 'anti-God” opinion as well as your pro-God one, that only means that scripture is unreliable. I've been saying that for a long time.
Even the most blood-washed Christian cannot deny that Satan never murdered the whole world, as God is said to have done. I realize all religions need to have a bad guy to blame for the evils that exist, but David Jeremiah and you are wrong: when it comes to deception, division, and destruction, the God of the Bible has no equal. His own Book says so.

Google reported badware-related activity on talkwisdom.blogspot.com/ as of Oct 16th 2011, according to StopBadware.com. In order to find this out, I put in your address and had them search it.

I consider the date to be important, since it was the very next day you got your knickers in a twist about it. I am now quite convinced that the malware was linked to you by someone else. Whether they knew they had done so we'll probably never know.

SiteAdvisor, run by McAfee, also found 'no significant problems' with your blog. Site is one of the trusted linkages to StopBadware.

Anyway, you will have to forward the complaint—I'm not the admin, you are, and Jesus won't do it for you.
This is where to go:

http://www.stopbadware.org/reports/d94a3e37c79724ea3f1b6da900dffbd1

The hash of numbers is the page of results of my inquiry into your blogsite. Below it is a link where you can complain to them.

Why should I care? Probably because cries of 'persecution' by Christers usually prove to be unjustified, I guess. Anyway, it's up to you now. Ganbare yo!

Christinewjc said...

It took a lot of time, but I finally found a way to get answers regarding my complaint. I found a forum through Blogger where I was able to ask why and how my blog was flagged. The attendant there showed me which two links in my sidebar bloglist area were affecting my status in Google searches. I deleted the links to the two blogs (one was hacked and the other was plagued with malware) and requested a reconsideration of my site. I was instructed to go through several steps in order to get to the proper form and submit my site for reconsideration. After I completed each step, the information attendant wrote that it usually takes 10-12 hours to have the malware warning lifted.

I'm exhausted! Between working on that, bathing two dogs, trimming and grooming the one with long hair, and all the other chores I had to do today - I'm out of energy!

Regarding your other comment. If I may be brief, let's just say that we are never going to agree on this topic and leave it at that.

GMpilot said...

So, does this mean that you will now apologize about those 'Google LIARS', or is that too much to expect from you?

Regarding the other subject: I don't expect you to ever agree. I just want you to understand why I don't agree. It has nothing to do with hating God, or reveling in sin, or any of that other stuff you like to cite. It's an honest disagreement.
