What's Good In America; Bad In Government

This is a two-part post which reveals what is good about America - including Faith, Family, Freedom, and Charity.  The stark difference between what our Founders envisioned for America with what would-be dictator BHO is systematically doing to transform our beloved nation into a hell-hole socialist/communist country can be seen when we contrast two examples of what is good in America with what is bad in this current government.

For those who would criticize The Fox News Channel, I think that they should eat their negative words after hearing about the following human interest stories.

First, it must be recognized that Fox was instrumental in drawing attention to the plight of an ex-marine who was illegally imprisoned for four months in Mexico.  Story here: Ex-Marine Jon Hammar back on US soil after release from Mexico prison.

Apparently, the White House and the State Department told the family that "there was nothing that they could do" about the situation. What a horrible and tragic lie! The family went through the proper channels of government, and were dissed! This is only one example of the power of the people and how a fair and balanced media outlet can help in important causes that the BHO media of mass corruption tends to ignore.

Other than Fox News Channel and conservative talk radio,  I heard that the only other mainstream media anchor that covered it was Anderson Cooper on CNN.  The others were basically silent about the unlawful imprisonment of this ex-marine in Mexico. The good news is that he has been released! Fox News Channel video link.

Another great story from Fox News was broadcast Friday night, December 21, 2012 on Hannity's special Christmas show. It is the story of an organization that builds homes for severely wounded military heroes.

This charity builds mortgage free homes for injured warriors returning home.

The home built for Andy Tevera, took a year of time for donations to come in, but it was built in only five months and is absolutely beautiful!!  Please take the time to watch the video (at the link provided above)!  It represents everything that is great about our nation; the generosity of those who would create such a charity, those who would contribute to such a cause,  and the joy of seeing this courageous young man who went through so much get honored and presented with a beautiful home for he and his wife to live in!  Andy Tevera came back a new man with such a positive attitude after all that he went through.  Truthfully, I don't know if I could have endured all that he went through.  It is an inspirational story that may change your perspective forever!

As you read the stories on that website, you will notice that it is a non-profit organization which accepts donations from generous Americans.  This is just one example of how our great nation does NOT need government to run everything!  Charity is alive and well in the U.S.A.!!

However, with so many executive orders being signed by BHO (under the radar of the American people because it's not being covered in the media of mass corruption), so many of our freedoms are being taken away at an alarming rate!

Of course, this is just the newest Executive Order coming right after the latest OUTRAGEOUS news: While the whole country was distracted with a Killer Storm and a Killer Presidential Election, Barack Hussein Obama was continuing with his plans to initiate MARTIAL LAW!
The latest headlines are almost unbelievable:

“Just before Hurricane Sandy, Obama signed executive order merging
Homeland Security with private sector to create VIRTUAL DICTATORSHIP”

The news article only gets worse: “While all eyes were on Hurricane Sandy in the days leading up to the storm’s breach on the mainland of the Northeast, the White House was busy devising new ways to enslave Americans under the guise of protecting national security. On October 26, 2012, Barack Obama quietly signed an Executive Order (EO) establishing the so-called Homeland Security Partnership Council, a public-private partnership that basically merges the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with local governments and the private sector for the implied purpose of giving the Executive Branch complete and limitless control over the American people.”
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE’VE BEEN WARNING YOU THAT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA HAS BEEN PLANNING FOR!
This new Executive Order goes further than any other in conflating federal power structures with local governments and the private sector. Based on the unbelievable language contained in the EO itself, the federal government “appears ready to begin rapidly expanding its command and control operations at the local level,” according to a story in Natural News, by establishing a vast network of homeland security “partnerships” throughout the country, which will be tasked with reporting back to the central command center and feeding “intelligence” information as requested by federal officials.
“[W]e must tap the ingenuity outside government through strategic partnerships with the private sector, nongovernmental organizations, foundations, and community-based organizations,” says the EO. It goes on to add that the merger between the federal government and the private sector is necessary to facilitate the government’s desire to better “address homeland security priorities,” which includes things like “responding to natural disasters … (and) preventing terrorism by utilizing diverse perspectives, skills, tools, and resources.”
An official “Steering Committee” will be established with representatives from virtually every single federal agency, and this committee will be guided by a separate council on how to best incorporate the federal government and DHS into every nook and cranny of American society. Once established, this council will maintain control over presumably all aspects of society by overseeing a secret police force comprised of spies from schools, community groups, churches, and various other local institutions.
“[W]e must institutionalize an all-of-Nation effort to address the evolving threats to the United States,” adds the Executive Order, which has YET to be covered AT ALL in the mainstream media.
But why would we be surprised at that? The media STILL hasn’t covered one of the biggest bombshells in recent weeks:

“Gen. Boykin: U.S. economy close to collapse, could result in martial law” You read that right: retired Lt. General William Boykin, a former CIA Deputy Director of Special Activities, has said that the U.S. economy “is just about the break” and collapse. And when the dam gives way, severe food shortages and pervasive violence throughout America will result in an executive declaration of martial law.

This latest news of preparations for a police state came after we had already learned that Barack Hussein Obama is planning to sign ANOTHER “martial law” style Executive Order — this time to enable him to take over America’s “critical infrastructure,” such as the POWER GRID and FINANCIAL INDUSTRIES!
Federal News Radio is reporting that the Obama regime is preparing to sign off on this new Executive Order, since patriots like YOU AND I have been able to STOP Obama’s so-called “cybersecurity” bill so far:

“The White House so far has failed to get a bill passed by both houses of Congress to improve the cybersecurity of the nation’s critical infrastructure, so it wants to take an alternative approach. The administration has created a draft executive order detailing how, within its authority, it would improve the information assurance of the nation’s critical infrastructure, such as the power grid and financial industries… The draft EO, which Federal News Radio viewed a draft copy of, closely follows the second version of comprehensive cyber legislation introduced by Sens. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Susan Collins (R- Maine) in July.”

Obama has signaled his intention to push through his Internet agenda via executive order. This, after last week’s failed attempt to bring the Democrat-supported Cybersecurity Act of 2012 to a full vote in the U.S. Senate. The bill would have given federal regulatory agencies the ability to mandate cybersecurity recommendations on critical infrastructure power and utility companies.

As reported in The Hill, responding to a question about whether President Obama was considering advancing his party’s cyber-plan through an executive order, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney didn’t rule out the possibility. “In the wake of congressional inaction and Republican stall tactics, unfortunately, we will continue to be hamstrung by outdated and inadequate statutory authorities that the legislation would have fixed,” Carney said. And John Brennan, Obama’s counterterrorism adviser, said at an event at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, “If the Congress is not going to act on something like this, then the president wants to make sure that we’re doing everything possible.”

The government never discusses what could justify an executive order this comprehensive.
If such a threat to the nation (and the world) really exists, the voters should be given a detailed description of its nature. Congress should debate this. Solving it should be a high national priority. If the answer is, “discussing this would create panic,” then democracy is a sham. If the answer is, “we don’t know what might happen, so we are asserting total control in advance,” then this executive order should never have been signed. It transfers too much power to bureaucrats to determine when to implement it.

As Dr. North declares, “This is no longer a nation run by the Constitution.”
The executive order itself is long, and very few people will actually bother to read it. But what it does is very clear: it authorizes the White House to take over the entire communications system, simply on “the authority of the President.”

We’ve seen this coming. We even reported on how, just recently, a government “whistleblower” inside the Obama regime blew the lid off of why Barack Hussein Obama has recently signed Executive Orders that give him the power to declare martial law across America!
Obama, through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other agencies and “czars,” is plotting a major “Reichstag” event to generate racial riots and produce the justification for martial law, delaying the November 2012 elections… possibly indefinitely!
A DHS whistleblower informed the Canada Free Press “that the DHS is actively preparing for massive social unrest inside the United States. He then corrected himself, stating that ‘a civil war’ is the more appropriate term. ‘Certain elements of the government are not only expecting and preparing for it, they are actually facilitating it.’”
A “Reichstag event” refers to a fire started in Germany’s legislature during Hitler’s rise to power. The fire allowed him to grab emergency powers and eliminate his opposition. While he blamed it on Communists, historians have long believed that Hitler started the fire himself.
According to the anonymous “whistleblower” inside Obama’s DHS, this “Reichstag event” would take the form of a staged assassination attempt against Barack Obama, “carefully choreographed” and manufactured by Obama operatives. It would subsequently be blamed on “white supremacists” and used to enrage the black community to rioting and looting, the DHS source warned.
The Obama administration would then use the violence and chaos they created as justification for the imposition of martial law in major urban cities in America, the creation of DHS checkpoints, restriction of travel, and the indefinite delay of the November 2012 elections:

“The DHS takes their marching orders from the Obama administration, from Obama himself, but mostly from his un-appointed czars. And Jarrett, especially Valerie Jarrett. Don’t think for a minute that the administration is doing anything to stabilize events in the U.S. They are revolutionaries, and revolutionaries thrive on chaos,” he added.

Now, this includes, but it’s not limited to food and livestock, water, plants, energy, health resources, transportation and construction materials and gives the government the ability to, quote, ‘control the general distribution of any material, including applicable services in this civilian market.’”

Hannity then went on to discuss how “this would give the President of the United States the authority to declare basically Martial Law during times of peace. And to be sure, this is simply the latest string of actions taken by the administration that ignore the basic principles of our constitution.”

Of course, that Executive Order was only the BEGINNING. Obama’s preparations to institute MARTIAL LAW IN AMERICA are coming together quickly.
FIRST, he signed an Executive Order, for so-called “National Defense Resources Preparedness” — that would give him DICTATOR POWERS whenever he decides he “needs” them.
THEN, he signed ANOTHER “Executive Order”, this time to take control of America’s domestic natural gas production.
NOW, he’s done it AGAIN — Barack Hussein Obama has signed YET ANOTHER Executive Order… declaring INTERNATIONAL LAW for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
As reported by blogger Henry Shivley:

“On May 1, 2012, our Glorious Leader, Premier Barack Obama AKA Barry Soetoro AKA Barry the Rat, signed yet another Executive Order – Promoting International Regulatory Cooperation. This dictate is designed to standardize regulations between the United States and its so-called trading partners.
What is a regulation? A law. So what is actually being attempted here is a standardization of international law. It is an absolute violation of the Constitution for the United States to legislate our law outside of our borders.”

And what exactly can this latest unconstitutional Executive Order lead to? As Shivley states, “Considering the many international security agreements the traitors occupying our highest seats of power have entered into, this latest executive order can absolutely be used to institute gun confiscation laws/regulations, without any consent by our Congress or our Judicial. And once these foreign laws are brought to the United States under the various security agreements, foreign troops will be brought in to enforce the foreign laws upon the people of the United States.”
This new Executive Order came hot on the heels of the recent one that Barack Obama signed to take control of America’s domestic natural gas production. As columnist Mac Slavo reports:

“While Americans focused their attention on the Colombian controversy involving U.S. Secret Service agents, prostitutes and excessive drinking, President Obama quietly signed his latest Presidential Executive Order.
The Supporting Safe and Responsible Development of Unconventional Domestic Natural Gas Resources Executive Order seeks to create what amounts to a Presidential super committee that will oversee the regulation and development of the ‘unconventional’ natural gas industry for the purpose of ensuring a long-term natural gas supply for the United States, as well as to do so in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.”

So now, by Presidential decree alone, the federal government can “coordinate action” through thirteen core federal agencies against any domestic natural gas production facility — all according to standards determined to be “appropriate” not by law, but because of political agenda.
Moreover, because a key stated purpose of this latest Executive Order is to “ensure long-term supplies,” Barack Obama’s new decree gives the federal government the ability to shut down gas production operations as THEY see fit, which can lead directly to government price fixing and centralized control of an essential natural energy resource.
While Obama’s Executive Order aims to curtail some of the practices of the hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” industry, it further expands government control over our lives through more centralization of power and bureaucracy.
THINGS ARE GETTING WORSE. As experts start to dig deeper into Barack Hussein Obama’s recently-signed Executive Order, for so-called “National Defense Resources Preparedness,” they are reporting just how bad this really is: OBAMA IS PREPARING TO DECLARE MARTIAL LAW IN AMERICA.

Under this order the heads of these cabinet level positions; Agriculture, Energy, Health and Human Services, Transportation, Defense and Commerce can take food, livestock, fertilizer, farm equipment, all forms of energy, water resources, all forms of civil transportation (meaning any vehicles, boats, planes), and any other materials, including construction materials from wherever they are available. This is probably why the government has been visiting farms with GPS devices, so they know exactly where to go when they turn this one on.
Specifically, the government is allowed to allocate materials, services, and facilities as deemed necessary or appropriate. They decide what necessary or appropriate means.

The latest report comes from the Russia Times:

“As folks headed out to happy hour last Friday evening, President Obama signed an executive order that could potentially give him the power to institute martial law in the United States in times of peace or during a national threat… Many Americans were shocked to find out that this order gives the president practically unlimited power over US citizens and their property. All in the name of national security of course.”

IT’S TRUE! As we said, Barack Hussein Obama has signed a Presidential Executive Order, which would give him the powers of a DICTATOR — whenever HE thinks it’s “necessary” to institute MARTIAL LAW!
According to press reports, “A White House order updating federal emergency powers has raised alarm among some conservative commentators, and U.S. Rep. Sandy Adams, that President Barack Obama is attempting to grab unconstitutional powers.”

A columnist with The Washington Times declared the mid-March order — an update of a 60-year-old document outlining the president’s authority in a national emergency — “stunning in its audacity and a flagrant violation of the Constitution.” The conservative Drudge Report website linked to it with the headline, “Martial Law?“
And Adams, R-Orlando, said it “leaves the door open for the president to give himself control over American resources during both times of peace, and national crisis.”

It’s almost unbelievable what Barack Hussein Obama is trying to do — BUT IT’S TRUE. According to a bombshell article in the Washington Times, “President Obama has given himself the powers to declare martial law — especially in the event of a war with Iran. It is a sweeping power grab that should worry every American.”

On March 16, the White House released an executive order, “National Defense Resources Preparedness.” The document is stunning in its audacity and a flagrant violation of the Constitution. It states that, in case of a war or national emergency, the federal government has the authority to take over almost every aspect of American society. Food, livestock, farming equipment, manufacturing, industry, energy, transportation, hospitals, health care facilities, water resources, defense and construction — all of it could fall under the full control of Mr. Obama. The order empowers the president to dispense these vast resources as he sees fit during a national crisis.

In short, according to the Times, the order gives Barack Obama the ability to IMPOSE MARTIAL LAW: “He now possesses the potential powers of a dictator. The order is a direct assault on individual liberties, private property rights and the rule of law. It is blatantly unconstitutional. The executive branch is arrogating responsibilities precluded by the Constitution without even asking the permission of Congress. The order gives Mr. Obama a blank check to erect a centralized authoritarian state.”
But why this — and why now?
SIMPLE — because he’s about to provoke a confrontation with IRAN, which could give him the excuse to implement martial law in America:

“Obama may be ready to launch devastating airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. If that should happen, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has promised massive retaliation. American troops will be targeted by Iranian proxies in Iraq and Afghanistan. American embassies will be struck across the Middle East and North Africa. Most ominously, Iranian-backed Hezbollah cells could launch devastating terrorist attacks in major U.S. cities, killing numerous citizens. The war may well come home, triggering domestic chaos. These are the very real risks of a major conflict with Iran.”

As columnist Jeffrey Kuhner notes, “The president does not – and should not – have the authority to subordinate the entire private economy to the government, especially without the consent of Congress and the American people. It is national socialism masquerading as military security. This is why conservatives — those who are serious about defending our constitutional republic – should demand that the executive order be repealed immediately.”

Thankfully, there are Members of Congress who are standing UP for the U.S. Constitution. Rep. Sandy Adams (R-FL) has introduced H. Con. Res. 110 in response to President Obama’s blatant attempt to go around the Constitution and institute martial law if HE thinks it’s “necessary.”
In introducing her bill, Rep. Adams stated, “President Obama issued a National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order on March 16, 2012 that raises some serious concerns in its wording and intent. The order has historically been based on the Defense Production Act of 1950 (50 U.S.C. App. 2061 et seq.). Rick Santorum Is Genuine; Obama Is Vain

Congratulations to Rick Santorum for his hat-trick victory in Missouri, Minnesota, and Colorado last night! I like what I am hearing from him on the campaign trail and apparently, so do thousands of voters in Missouri, Minnesota, and Colorado.

Of course, it didn't take long for Donald Trump to come out and criticize Santorum:

What Trump isn't telling people is that many in Pennsylvania REGRETTED their votes against Santorum's Senatorial re-election bid.  Why?  Because it brought in a liberal who voted for Obamacare.  Now that the state of Pennsylvania and states across the nation see what is in the awful Obama/Pelosi/Reid Healthscare bill, they deeply regret that it had been passed.  The fact remains that the Democrats manipulated the system in order to get it passed so that added insult to injury.

I don't know what religion, if any, Trump practices.  But so far, I haven't heard him express outrage against the Obama Administration for the terrible destructive move against religious liberty that was defiantly done against the Catholic church recently.  Many evangelical Christians are speaking out in defense of the Catholics because we all know that freedom of liberty, religious freedom, freedom of association, and freedom of speech are at stake.  The Founders were correct!  Our freedoms come from God - not from government!  WE THE PEOPLE do not want such a tyrannical decree against people of the Christian faith by Obama and his cohorts to stand.  I have been hearing that the Zero regime is beginning to realize that they might need to back down on this issue.  Of course, it's only for political expediency in an election year that they would do so.

Back to Trump "not getting" Rick Santorum.

I get it.  I get his ideology, political views, and how he views our nation.  He wants to restore America and work FOR THE PEOPLE, not talk down to them the way Obama does. Santorum believes in what the Declaration of Independence says and stands for. He desires to adhere to the U.S. Constitution - something which Obama has constantly trampled upon for the past three years.

In a previous post, I expressed how much I like Santorum's campaign slogan, "Faith, Family and Freedom." I also cheered about his steadfast stance against partial birth abortion and how he was instrumental in finally getting the bill banning that horrendous practice (of killing a baby that has been birthed except for the head - where scissors are inserted into the back of the neck to kill the child before it is completely out of the womb) passed and signed into law by President George W. Bush.

That is a deed straight out of the bowels of hell!!  Anyone who would condone such a practice must not have a conscience!  Abortion is MURDER...PERIOD!  And to perform an abortion in such a way as is done by partial birth abortion is a kind of murder that could be labeled as a new holocaust placed upon unborn children.

Children are a gift from God.  Such gifts should not be snuffed out in such a horrific way.  Those who adhere to such evil practices (and never confess such sin and ask for forgiveness through Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives) will find themselves absent from the Book of Life in eternity.

Speaking of eternity, I began reading the study guide called Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven by Dr. David Jeremiah again this week. In Lesson 11 - Tough-Minded About Heaven - I read many things that could be applied towards the good beliefs and policies that Rick Santorum holds in his personal and political life.

Chapter 11 is very interesting because it teaches us how we should be living our lives in the present - in light of God's plan for eternity.


Dr. Jeremiah writes:

In his first epistle, Peter encouraged his readers (and us) to "gird up the loins of [their] mind" and to "be sober" (1:13). [T]his is a military term, meaning to pull up the folds of one's robe and tuck them in the belt so as not to impede one's forward progress. Applied to the mind, Peter is saying, "Don't be sloppy in your thinking. Don't be casual. We're in a battle and have to prepare ourselves for victory."

If we, as Christians, don't gird up our minds, we will absorb the thinking of this world. We'll start believing that the world system is all there is--that there is no future, no heaven, no rewards, no eternal worship of God, and no service of God in the new heavens and new earth. If we don't stay focused on heaven, allowing that hope to pull us purposefully through this world, we will get bogged down spiritually and lose our edge.

I think that hundreds of thousands of Americans [many non-Christians, some discouraged Christians] are feeling "bogged down spiritually" by the lack of true AMERICAN leadership of this Marxist bully in the White House and thus erroneously think that we have "lost our edge."

But Jesus instructs us in the five ways we need to remain tough-minded:

1. Tough-Minded About Our Purity (2 Peter 3:11) There is a longer description in the booklet, but the following portion can be applied in realizing the attraction of conservative voters to Rick Santorum's campaign:

The opposite of pursuing godliness is denying ungodliness. In Titus 2:12 Paul wrote, "Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age."
Pursuing godliness and denying ungodliness are not theoretical ideas, they are actionable ideas --hands-on goals to pursue. In the world we live in, anyone who is not "pursuing" and "denying" is going to get caught up in the things of this world.

Mr. Santorum is not afraid to call what is wrong - wrong (e.g. abortion); and what is evil (e.g. the Iranian regime) - evil.

2. Tough-Minded about His promises (2 Peter 3:12).

Briefly:

we need to be tough-minded about Christ's promise to return and not let the world lull us into apathy and ungodliness.

Rick Santorum has often stated that this election IS CRUCIAL for the defeat of Barack Hussein Obama. I agree with him, and whoever the Republican nominee turns out to be needs to relently expose and combat the terrible direction Obama has taken this nation.   I believe whole-heartedly that Santorum is up for that job!

3. Tough-Minded About Our Purpose (2 Peter 3:14)

Dr. Jeremiah:

Every believer has been given one or more spiritual gifts--and that certainly should impact our life purpose. We must be diligent in applying those gifts in the body of Christ. It's easy to become a spiritual "couch potato" and lapse into doing nothing -- just marking time and taking up space. That is not why God saved us. There are works He saved us to accomplish, and being diligent about our purpose means accomplishing those tasks (Ephesians 2:10). One day we will stand before Christ and give an account of what we have done (or not done) for Him.

Rick chose "Faith, Family and Freedom" as his moniker for his presidential campaign. It is obvious that he puts God first in his life, family second, and the call to preserve our nation's freedom as his purpose in running for president. It's not an "ego" thing with him. I think that is attractive to many people, as well.

We already have a narcissist-in-chief who just desires to be "cool" again. How is that working out for you, America? The "hope and change" became "nope and chains" against what WE THE PEOPLE want in a president and government for our nation. We want a president and government FOR THE PEOPLE, OF THE PEOPLE, AND BY THE PEOPLE!! NOT a tyrannical one that dictates to us from cradle (if one escapes abortion and is born in the first place) to grave (which hopefully will be a long life unless the death panels in Zerocare kill us sooner)! As Rick said during his victory speech yesterday, (paraphrased) 'if government gives you rights, then government can also take away your rights.'

4. Tough-Minded About Our Profession (2 Peter 3:17)

Dr. Jeremiah:

Peter warns his readers about "untaught and unstable people" who try to twist the Scriptures to their own advantage (verse 16). then he says, since you know they're going to do this, "...beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked."

If that isn't a perfect Bible verse that describes and refutes Obama then I don't know what would be!

5. Tough-Minded About Our Progress (2 Peter 3:18)

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen."

Bible-based Christians can immediately spot someone who is genuine in their faith. For others, it may take a while. But I think that even non-Christians, at this point, have recognized the vanity of Obama and his cronies who deliberately and defiantly continue to trump the will of the people!  The American people instinctively know that those in public office arel SUPPOSED TO SERVE the PEOPLE here in the United States of America - not the other way around!!

At the end of the chapter, there is a "did you know" paragraph that I think sums up the stark differences that Rick Santorum offers as a presidential candidate, verses what Obama has shown us over the past three years.

The idea of "vanity" is made more clear by the meanings of the original Hebrew and Greek words. In the Old Testament the Hebrew word hebel {translated "vain" in Ecclesiastes 1:2) meant vapor or breath--something that had no substance and was easily dissipated. The New Testament Greek word for "vain" is kenos--a word that meant empty or empty-handed.

I think that Obama has proven himself to be vain. Most of the people of America see him and his "promises" from the election of 2008 as "having no substance and easily dissipated;" as well as "empty and empty-handed."

In both cases it is easy to see how the English word "vain" was used to translate these original words.

Whether they realize it or not, I think that one of the big reasons why Americans are now flocking to Rick Santorum's campaign is because he is a genuine person; whereas Obama appears to be empty and like a vapor. You can't fake being genuine for very long. A person's real beliefs and motives are ultimately found out.

The chapter concludes with this important thought:

A life without certainty of heaven could easily appear to be empty or like a vapor.

Whenever Wasserman-Schultz made an appearance on the Fox News Channel, I would cringe. I knew that a lie against the GOP and/or an attack against a Republican was forthcoming. The woman has her mind so set in the mentally disordered liberal/progressive political sphere, it's a wonder if she ever utters any semblance of truth.

Recall how she stood up for Weiner during Weinergate? How could anyone take her seriously after that flub? Oh...but there is much more. Congrats Charlie!

I'd like to take this opportunity to share with readers here how very proud I am of my son! He has been named "Trainer of the Month" at Fitness Together!

The following is a portion of the newsletter announcement:


Charlie works very hard around the studio and helps out in many ways, but mostly his clients think he is motivating, fun and gets them to their fitness goals. Here is a quote from Charlie's client Linnea Goodrich.

Memorial Day Memories

Tomorrow is the real Memorial Day. Monday was "Memorial Day - Observed." Well, that's O.K. Our fallen military heroes deserve both days of recognition. In fact, I vote that we should make it Memorial Week.

Fox News has been broadcasting beautiful tributes to our fallen military heroes; including a very touching one done by Lockheed Martin. Wouldn't it be great if more companies spent commercial dollars for such a noble purpose?

All of our history's war dead deserve to be in our thoughts this week. Their families belong in our heartfelt prayers.

Tomorrow's date has special significance for me because that is the date that my dad passed away - on May 3o, 1995. I have previously written about my witnessing experience with him. It was back in January of 1995 when I last saw him alive. One day during my last visit with him I had a truly faith-cementing experience. You can read about it at the link above.

I still miss him. I think that I always will until we are re-united in eternity with the Lord. The fact that he accepted Christ as Lord and Savior just four months before he passed away was an answer to my childhood prayers. I was worried about him missing heaven.

He used to call me "sweetie-pie." When I was a little girl I would run to the door when he came home from work, jumped on him, kissed him and said, "I missed you daddy!" I can still remember at the young age of seven, wondering if he would ever trust and believe in Jesus Christ. Thirty-Four years later, my prayers for him were answered!

Sometimes it is difficult to wait for the Lord's timing. However, the Lord is faithful - even when we are not! His timing is perfect! I learned that fact about God in a very real way in the midst of my father's life and death situation. The Lord also gave me a wonderful gift - that glimpse into the heavenly realm through my father's vision of a visiting angel.

I remember thinking...no one is going to believe me when I tell them what happened that morning. Then again, it doesn't really matter. The event happened for the benefit of both my father and I. No one else needs to believe it, anyway. It was our little shared miracle on this earth.

Still miss him. But I do know that one day I will see him again.

CA Marriage Amendment on Ballot!

Great news! The California Marriage Amendment will be on the ballot in November!

Five months and 1.1 million signatures later, the California marriage amendment is headed to the November ballot.

Ron Prentice, executive director of the California Family Council, said he was "thrilled."

"The fact that we will turn in 1.1 million signatures is unprecedented, coming from the grassroots and the churches of this state," he said. "We know that the road ahead will be especially quarrelsome, but we look for Christians to stand up, to represent biblical truth and God's will for marriage."

The amendment to the state constitution would protect marriage from the courts and the Legislature. The state Supreme Court is scheduled to rule by early June on a series of lawsuits challenging the state's existing one-man, one-woman marriage laws. The Legislature has passed back-to-back same-sex "marriage" bills, both of which were vetoed by the governor.

"This shouldn't be something left to the court either now or in the future," Brian Brown, executive director of the California office of the National Organization for Marriage, told The Associated Press. "The idea that California voters should be the ones to decide this is an idea that resonates with people."

So, Edwards Is Out

I have noticed that several bloggers out there thought that Edwards was out of the race a long time ago. He is now expected to make it official.

The buzz is that he's not going to immediately endorse either of the two remaining Democratic candidates.

Smart man.

He knows he has some bargaining power now and I'm sure that he'll make the most of it.

There is something that I have wanted to say about Edwards and his ad nauseum references to "tax breaks for the rich."

[Caution, you are about to enter the Talk Wisdom rant zone.]

Each time he spoke at a rally, the man just irked me no end!

That man is missing several facts that are quite important to share.

First. People who have worked their way up the ladder of success in this country should pay their fair amount of taxes; but they shouldn't be expected to give 60 - 80% of it to the government. That's just crazy! That's not fair. That's robbery. Even 50% is too much. Perhaps the super rich deserve to pay that. But if the Dems had their way I shudder to think where the cut-off might be.

Second. Edwards never seems to recognize that many of these "rich" CEO's, Corporate Executives, and small business owners donate very generously to various charities. I wonder. Has Edwards ever looked into that fact? Doubt it.

Third. The fact that many of these people provide jobs for so many others seems to escape his mind. Not only do they provide employment opportunities at their places of business, but many most likely pay monthly fees for services at their homes. They may not be under employment at the corporations they lead, but think about all of the landscapers, pool service people, pet sitters, housekeepers (I would love that one!!), home improvement contractors, etc. that they pay for services rendered at their homes.

Fourth. Without mentioning any names, I can say that I know of people who have gorgeous homes, expensive cars and enjoy many luxuries in this life. However, they have worked their butts off to earn such things. Many people, including Dems like Edwards, probably have no idea how much money, time, and mentoring efforts that such people have generously given away over the years. Do such thoughts ever enter into their minds? Doubt it.

I know of several people who have given, and/or raised tens of thousands of dollars for worthy causes such as Big Brothers & Big Sisters, The Boys and Girls Clubs, the YMCA, and various health care organizations.

Did Edwards ever do any research about this? Probably not. He is the type of man who has an agenda that he likes to spread about the country in order to garner votes from certain people who may have the same ideology that he has. I truly think that this is very regrettable. He attempts to divide this country with his negative and unpleasant combative attitude.

I know some personal stories about people whose families had financially struggled early on in their lives. In one case, a young teenager used a small, walk-in closet as his bedroom when his ill father's condition forced the family to move in with relatives. Did they mooch off of the government in order to get back on their feet? No. Families used to help related families when they were in dire straits. With so much divorce going on nowadays, it is a rare thing for families to remain intact. It is truly a sad state of affairs.

Fifth. Even though the traditional family is under attack at an alarming rate these days, there is still the fact that Christian churches often do come to the rescue of the downtrodden. Why didn't Edwards ever talk about that? I have seen hundreds of examples of Christian families generously donating money, food, clothing, shelter, Christmas gifts for children etc.; to those in need. Some of these families are very wealthy and donate thousands. Others, are not that wealthy but give what they can. In either example, it is the giving attitude that counts, not necessarily the amount of money given.

Sixth. The controversy over Edwards using a false claim that "thousands of homeless vets are being left out on the streets and under bridges" was just downright dishonest. Yes, our system is not perfect. Yes, there is room for improvement. Yes, some people fall through the cracks. However, Edwards never mentioned the fact that there is help available and some, if not most, make their own individual decisions to refuse that help.

The causes for their homelessness could be varied. Some, unfortunately, are drug addicted. Some are alcoholics. Some are mentally ill. Some just don't want the help. Some would rather panhandle than get help. Like the guest who works with veterans and appeared on Bill O'Reilly's show stated, "We can't drag them in if they don't want help." The same could be said for some of the homeless in the general public, too.

I once had a few discussions with a police officer who worked with getting help for the homeless. He admitted that some just refuse to come off the streets; even if the opportunity presents itself. They go to a shelter at night when it is cold, and then go back out during the day. They get food at soup kitchens and various church organizations that distribute food.

There are a lot of really good people who help others in this country. Many of them happen to be either well off or rich. But if we would take Edwards' pronouncements seriously, we would be left to believe that people (especially the "rich") are selfish, uncharitable, stingy, and uncaring about others down on their luck.

Seventh. The "rich" people that Edwards habitually rails against often donate lots of used clothing, household items, tools, bikes furniture...you name it...to Goodwill, the Salvation Army, AmVets and other organizations. Many people are employed as a result of such donations. Clothes that aren't resold or given away here are shipped to third world countries. Where is Edward's praise for such generosity? Answer: no where to be found.

Who usually gets praise for helping others? Celebrities. The super-wealthy. People like Oprah or Bill Gates, for example. Don't get me wrong...they deserve the recognition. But how about a clap of the hands for the ordinary Americans out there who work very hard at their jobs to earn good money to support their families and never take a cent of aid or handouts from the government? How about giving just a tiny bit of recognition for those who faithfully, and habitually contribute to churches, charities, medical research and various children's organizations both here in America and around the world? Don't they deserve more than condemnation from those like Edwards and his ilk?

A Humorous Christmas Package Story

Last year, my mom and her friend Phil came out to celebrate Christmas with us. This year, they are celebrating at home in New Jersey.

Last week, I realized that I needed to get to the mall, buy them gifts, and ship them out in time for the gifts to arrive before Christmas.

I noticed an email offer from Macy's for "free shipping" on any order of $99 or more. I thought what a great idea! I can just go online, pick out gifts for them and it will be mailed to them free of charge!

As it turned out, it took me at least an hour to find each gift! Whenever I would find an item that I thought they would like, sometimes the sizes or colors were no longer available.

I was starting to think that maybe I shouldn't have been so lazy! This "easy way" to send gifts was turning into quite the project. But it gets worse. Keep reading.

When I finally settled on my gift choices, I went to the check-out page. After filling in all of the shipping and billing information, I came to find out that one of the items was no longer available. Arrgghhh! Back to the shopping pages! Since I was trying to match three different items, I had to go back and change the colors of some of the previous items, too.

About an hour later, I completed the mission! Or, so I thought...

A few days later, I got an email message that one of the four items I was sending had already been shipped out. The other three items were not available for shipping yet.

Uh oh...

I looked at the details of the order and saw that the one item that was available was being shipped...to me! Arrgghhh! Apparently, when I went back to the shopping pages and changed my selections, the "shipping" section needed to be re-typed in. I didn't realize this and so the item was now being shipped to the billing address...mine!

I got on the phone. I was on hold for 45 minutes! Finally, a pleasant male voice came on the line and asked how he could help me. I told him the situation and asked whether or not the additional three items could be re-routed to my mom's address. He placed me on hold for about ten minutes, then came back and said that he would try to get it changed to the correct recipient. I asked him how sure he was that it would happen. Fifty percent chance? Eighty percent chance? He thought that there was an eighty percent chance that it could be re-routed.

Whew! That was good to hear.

We have had packages being delivered constantly at our house over the past two weeks. Some required signatures, others did not. On Dec. 19th, I arrived home after running errands to find a huge box at the front of my door. It was from Macy's!! Arrgghhh! I was immediately out the door, heading to the post office to mail it to my mom.

There is a small post office annex in a strip mall near the dry cleaners that I frequent. I thought that the line would probably be much shorter there, than at the main post office. I walked in, with my huge package and asked how much it would cost to send it to New Jersey. The service person measured it and weighed it. She said, "$78.50 ma'am."

WHAT????

Okay. I'm opening this thing right now and will try to figure out how to re-package it, right there in the postal place. It was the "last day for guaranteed delivery" before Christmas. I didn't have the luxury of going home, re-packaging it and sending it off the next day. The lady behind the counter helped me with some suggestions.

To add insult to injury, when I opened the box, the "gift wrapping" that I paid for online consisted of a white Macy's box with a single white ribbon wrapped around it. Nice....huh? Sheesh! Cheapos!!! I paid $6.00 for the gift wrapping!

I was livid! No, I was pi**ed off! (sorry) The Macy's internet sales manager that I was planning to call was going to get an ear full from me!

In order to get the items to fit into two of the larger Priority Mail package boxes, I had to take the items out of the Macy's boxes, wrap the white ribbon around them and stuff them into the boxes. Pretty...huh?

There was tissue paper, ribbon and boxes all over the floor as I tried to make the previously bulky items fit into smaller boxes. Couldn't even gift wrap them. They would not fit.

One older woman using a walker came in to get in line (a line that was growing by the minute) and because of my mess, she couldn't get through. I apologized to her and moved all of the stuff out of her way.

Because I had been furiously unwrapping the items in the back of the store, I didn't notice (until that moment) all of the people in line curiously looking at this "crazy lady" (well...if the shoe fits! Right Susan? heh heh ;-) ) kneeling on the floor, frantically shoving clothing into boxes and making a mess in the path of all these customers trying to get in line. It's a small place and a bit cramped. I just smiled at them and said...it's a long story.

I placed two items in one box, and the third larger, thicker item in another box. I placed the card and item description sheet in one of the boxes. The cost to mail them this way came down to $27.00.

Two days later (Dec. 21st), I returned home from Christmas shopping and found a phone message from my mom. She said that she got the gifts and that they were lovely! She mentioned that I have good taste!

I thought...wow...that was fast!

She then mentioned that she was planning on wearing one of the gifts tomorrow. I thought...tomorrow? Maybe she meant tomorrow night?

The next day (Saturday) I called my mom from my cell phone while driving around doing some last minute stocking-stuffers shopping. She thanked me, again, for the gifts. She said, "In fact, I have it on right now. (It was 3:00 p.m. eastern time). I wore it to the hairdressers (a.k.a. salon) this morning and everyone said I looked very "festive" in it."

I said, "You wore it to the hairdressers?"

She said, "Yeah...I didn't know what it was, but wore it anyway. It's a pants outfit, right?"

I said, "No mom...they are flannel pajamas!"

I tried so hard not to laugh! Here is, yet again, another one of what my kids label "a Grammy story." You see, my mom has many such stories in her 83-years-young history. Someone remind me to share the one about the mannequin! Hilarious!

She still said that everyone at the hairdressers thought she looked great! They probably didn't have the heart to tell her that she was wearing pajamas! Cute ones though...red with little skiing penguins all over them!

When I shared this story with my husband we both laughed till the tears ran!

Back to my phone conversation with my mom.

I asked her if she received two packages. There is a second one with a robe in it. She said no, not yet. Ah - ha! That's why she didn't know what they were! The card and the package description insert were in the second box!

Later that day, I received another package from Macy's. It was the one that was supposed to have been shipped first!

Ah yes...the joy and convenience of internet Christmas shopping!

Public Schools Can't Be Reformed

BIG Mistake! The passing of SB777 through the signature of Gov. Arnold is causing a huge backlash!

I would also suggest looking into charter schools. The one that my daughter attended (second semester of her 11th year and entire 12th year) and graduated from had none of this indoctrination nonsense. They stuck to the curriculum! Isn't that what public schools used to do??

As the WorldNetDaily article stated, "this was the last straw." Parents are not going to put up with blatant social engineering and radical homosexual indoctrination that is being imposed relentlessly by rabid, liberal left lunatics who happened to get elected in the California State Legislature!

What's more, those who were intimidated (or, simply "abstained from voting" which IMO is even MORE cowardly) into voting for this ridiculous bill should be so ashamed of themselves!

Please! Someone give them all a copy of "The Marketing of Evil - How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised as Freedom."

That is EXACTLY what this bill represents...the selling of EVIL! It is CORRUPTION DISGUISED AS FREEDOM!

But they went way too far this time. Parents are not being fooled by the radicals anymore. They have taken their heads out of the sand, have sat up, taken notice, and are doing something about it!!

Parents now know that their agenda "goes far beyond implementing anti-discrimination and harassment policies for public schools."

I say it's about time!

This should have happened MUCH sooner. But I'm glad it's finally happening now!

Nothing speaks louder than a lawsuit!

Lawsuit claim:

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the California Education Committee, a project of California Family Council, by the Advocates for Faith and Freedom as well as lawyers for the Alliance Defense Fund.

It names Schwarzenegger, state Attorney General Edmund Brown Jr., O'Connell and others as defendants.

The plan, which is set to take effect on Jan. 11, 2008, "recklessly abandons the traditional understanding of biological sex in favor of an elusive definition that is unconstitutionally vague," the lawsuit said.

"This lawsuit facially challenges the redefinition of the term 'gender' as it will be impossible for school administrators and educators to know whether they themselves are violating the nondiscrimination provisions of the Education Code or the Penal Code," it said.

Thomasson endorses the idea of pulling children out of public schools, and believes a constitutional amendment is the best solution. CRI is working on a referendum.

At one time, the Sydney Swans were the laughing stock of the Australian Rules football league because they had the worst record, the worst players, the worst coach, and the worst fans. Needless to say, most of their games were played in front of empty stands. But something strange happened. The team got a new coach and a few new players and began winning. Suddenly, everyone was a Swans fan, and the stands were filled to capacity at nearly every game.
