Whew!!!  The author that I'm about to share with you calls his latest blog post, "The Homosexual Empire."  He describes the fact that the "Gay Manifesto" is deep in the throes of establishing a sodomite despotism here in the United States and elsewhere.
 

Don't believe this is true?


Well then take a look at what happened to a bakery business that wanted to hold onto their Christian religious beliefs and maintain the right to refuse service to a lesbian couple that were planning to marry!

That lesbian couple could have found plenty of other bakery businesses that would gladly take their money and bake them a cake.  But no...they had to FORCE this particular bakery to either bake their cake OR BE FORCED TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS!  Any thinking person can see what the agenda is here.  Just as the bakery stated in the window when it closed:

If any readers came along and read the accusations hurled at me [e.g. like "Jenny" did in comments here] because of my recent post entitled The Lie That Homosexual "Marriage" Is Acceptable to God;  then you will most likely be in for the shock of your life when you read The Homosexual Empire by Theodore Shoebat!

They claim to desire safety for all, yet they desire to see us, the Christians, in fear and trepidation of them. The pastor is presently awaiting on the decision for whether or not he will be prosecuted. They keep telling us about their fear of having a “Christian nation,” when in reality they are striving to establish a sodomite despotism, why they are gradually making more and more powerful and conspicuous.

If they succeed, we will live under an outright Homosexual inquisition, and if they really had their way, they would build a homosexual empire. How do I know that this is true? Very simple, look into history and we will find the ultimate results of homosexuality.

We complain of the sodomite movement, but we must realize that we are heading toward a revival of an ancient utopia much more depraved than now, because in antiquity homosexuality was the norm, not only that, it was a part of religion and government.

In ancient Rome homosexuality was most common, it was not solely a preferable activity, but interconnected with the religion, the state, and the culture. Homosexuality was as ordinary as marriage, and more preferable, and the pagan Caesars themselves were open sodomites. Jupiter, or the tutelar god of the empire, was a homosexual deity who satisfied his lusts with the Trojan Ganymede, and another young man named Fabius. (1)

Because of the sodomite behavior of the gods, their worshippers would see no wrong in plunging deeper in their depravity and being homosexual themselves. Their mindset was, if the gods do it, then I could, and should, too

It is no wonder, then, as to why when St. Paul gives his descriptive history of homosexuality, he recounts that they “changed the truth of God into a lie,” (Romans 1:25) before “God gave them up unto vile affections” and they turned to homosexuality (Romans 1:26-27).

The worship of this homosexual god was enforced by the state, and when Christianity came, it was the sodomite establishment that killed Christians for rejecting this reprobate god. A statue of Jupiter Phlilius was erected in Antioch by the famous wizard Theotecnus who, like Haman, told the emperor Maximinus that Jupiter demanded of him “to expel the Christians as his enemies, beyond the limits of the city and the adjacent territory.” (2)

This order began to be issued in all the cities of the empire, and even the subjects were told to purge the land of the Christians. The priests of the pagan gods were commissioned to orchestrate the persecution, and they did not hesitate to comply, for they wished to establish a universal utopia like Babel, in which all worship the gods as one.

When Antiochus invaded Judea he had erected an altar to Jupiter, and those who refused to burn incense to it were brutally executed. This homosexual tyranny is further made clear by the fact that before the conquest, the traitorous Jews, in wanting to integrate Israel with paganism, built a gymnasium, “according to the laws of the nations” (I Maccabees, 1:15). The gymnasium was inherently homosexual, with the exercisers being completely naked. (3)

The gymnasium was a place where the pagans would exalt the male body to not only partake in homosexual attraction, but to as well honor the pagan gods, (4) by whom homosexuality was justified. In Sparta, the gymnasium was institutionalized in the role of forcing recruited young Greek boys, by the age of twelve, into becoming homosexual warriors. The historian Plutarch writes:

By this age the boys came to be courted by lovers from among the respectable young men. The older men, too, showed even more interest, visiting the gymnasia frequently and being present when the boys fought and joked with one another. (5)

The sodomites agenda wants to see this same cruel tyranny established today, in order to build a homoerotic utopia where boys are recruited for a homosexual army, and the male body is exalted as the primal and pure physique of a warrior. Lets not forget what the Gay Manifesto says:

We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of your shallow dreams and vulgar lies. We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms, in your sports arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your movie theater bathrooms, in your army bunkhouses, in your truck stops, in your all male clubs, in your houses of Congress, wherever men are with men together. Your sons shall become our minions and do our bidding. They will be recast in our image. They will come to crave and adore us. … We shall raise vast private armies, as Mishima did, to defeat you. We shall conquer the world because warriors inspired by and banded together by homosexual love and honor are invincible as were the ancient Greek soldiers.

The Spartans recruited boys into a militant homosexual system, and so today we find the sodomites gradually trying to extinguish parental rights in regards to sexuality, for the purpose of convincing children into becoming sodomites, and ultimately, recruit them for their movement. This is clearly seen in Chris Christie’s decision to ban all licensed therapists from treating homosexual children to bring them back to normality and the natural order. They want the state to sever the influence of parents from their children, and make the youths open to homosexual propaganda, and thus for recruitment.

 
Since it would be difficult for the sodomites to actively introduce children to homosexuality, they want parents to do this for them. One reprobate has made this recent statement:

“I have had intuitive thoughts that such would be a healthy way for parents to interact with their children and introduce their children to sensual/sexual pleasure and bonding and loving practices … Who better to do it, than the parents first?”

Homosexual acts were not only encouraged and common, but imposed in the pagan world. In Sparta, for example, if you were a handsome man of good character and did not have a male lover at all, you were fined. The ancient scholar Aelian explains:

And any man of good appearance and character who did not fall in love with someone well-bred was also fined, because despite his excellence he did not love anyone. (6)

The sodomites today want us to revert to the homosexuality of antiquity, and to force us to accept their ideology. This forced acceptance will only lead to forced participation in homosexual activities. This is why the Gay Manifesto states:

If you dare to cry faggot, fairy, queer, at us, we will stab you in your cowardly hearts and defile your dead, puny bodies. …The family unit-spawning ground of lies, betrayals, mediocrity, hypocrisy and violence–will be abolished. The family unit, which only dampens imagination and curbs free will, must be eliminated. Perfect boys will be conceived and grown in the genetic laboratory. They will be bonded together in communal setting, under the control and instruction of homosexual savants. All churches who condemn us will be closed. Our only gods are handsome young men. We adhere to a cult of beauty, moral and esthetic. All that is ugly and vulgar and banal will be annihilated.

The exaltation of the male body was rooted in the pagan hatred for women, which was inherent in the Greco-Roman religion. Hesiod, one of the greatest prophets for the religion of the Roman empire, wrote that Zeus actually created women as a curse to men, a belief completely contrary to the civilized and beautiful Genesis account of Adam and Eve:

Both immortal gods and mortal men were seized with wonder when they saw that precipitous trap [woman], more than mankind can manage. For from her is descended the female sex, a great affliction to mortals as they dwell with their husbands–no fit partners for accursed Poverty, but only for Plenty. …even so as a bane for mortal men has high-thundering Zeus created women, conspirators causing difficulty. (7)

Homosexuality is rooted not in some fabricated condition, but in hatred toward women, that same hated which the devil harbors for the softer gender, for it was a woman–Mary–who gave birth to the Messiah. As God tells the devil in Genesis:

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (Genesis 3:15)

In a statement, the group said it is “deeply disappointed and saddened that the State of New Jersey now prohibits therapists from treating minors who have made a personal choice to seek help overcoming same-sex attraction,” according to the Jerusalem Post.

“The new law tramples on the rights of mental health therapists to engage freely in their profession, and it unfairly denies teenagers seeking therapy for issues that are troubling them the ability to obtain professional help.”

Christian organizations haven’t been entirely silent, however. The New Jersey law is being challenged in court by Liberty Counsel Action, an offshoot of the Moral Majority based in Orlando.

Liberty Counsel is challenging a similar law in California — the only other state to ban reparative therapy. On Thursday, a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court upheld the law, setting up a possible Supreme Court challenge.

In addition to being the most liberal circuit court in the country, the 9th Circuit is near the top of the list for most-reversed by the Supreme Court.

No Longer A Slave to Sin

Two obvious things that can keep people from finding forgiveness and in slavery to sin (if never confessed and repented of ) and separated from our Redeemer, Jesus Christ,  are:

1.  Our own self-centered desires.

2.  Our own stubborn pride.

I have been dismayed regarding the hate filled rhetoric often spewed against Christians in various social media networks.   It was one big reason why I left Face Book.  Recently, I have found that certain individuals over at the TEA Party Community object to Christians sharing their faith and Bible verses there.  What's up with that?  Personally, I think that the trolls of liberalism (including any other "ism" you can think of;  plus secularists, atheists, and agnostics etc.) cannot stand to read the truth and then just politely disagree about it.  They have been so indoctrinated that they not only reject Christian faith, they need to go much further.  They can't resist the urge to mock it, disparage it, hate it and verbally abuse those who genuinely love God, His Living Word - Jesus Christ, and His written Word - the Bible.

I believe that the problems that exist between those who say that they believe in God, but reject Christ as the only way to be reconciled back unto God is because of individual perception of sin(s) and what to do about them.  It is ultimately a matter of the heart, soul, mind and spirit. 

Other religions and denominational arguments aside, I would like to invite everyone to take "The Good Test."

The Viciousness of the Homosexual Left

The IRS targeting (and profiling) of conservative groups, including possible felonious violation of fellow citizens' civil rights, has prompted a writer over at American Thinker to explain how to Understand the Viciousness of the Gay Left.  In the past, I have often labeled such a description of "the viciousness of the homosexual left" as "the radical homosexual agenda."

I agree with one commentator (at the link above) who states that we should not call the movement "gay," which had it's original meaning of "happy, cheerful, glad, joyous, joyful  etc." stolen from the vernacular.  We should use the term "homosexual" or "sodomite."  Thus, I have tweaked the title of my post to reflect that.

The entire article is quite enlightening.  However, I will include just a few segments that involve the targeting by the IRS through a homosexual organization called "The Human Rights Campaign;" which is actually a front for destroying anyone or anything that disagrees with their totalitarian homosexual indoctrination beliefs and tactics.

When you read the article, you will be blessed.  It will show conservative Christian readers here who believe in God, The Bible, and Jesus Christ and His Gospel that we are NOT the intolerant ones.

THEY ARE!!!

It also demonstrates that such activists are NOT the same as all homosexual individuals.  It is kind of like the Muslims vs. Muslim terrorists.  I would go so far as to describe this particular mean-spirited group as sodomite terrorists!

During hearings on Capitol Hill, Chapman University professor John Eastman of the National Organization for Marriage unveiled new evidence that the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay advocacy organization, may have feloniously obtained confidential tax documents from the IRS and then published them with the intent of humiliating political opponents.

This accusation, as has been noted by several commentators including Dennis Prager and Ann Coulter, brings the current IRS scandals to a whole new level. Below is the exchange that took place between Rep. Paul Ryan and Prof. Eastman:

RYAN: So your donors are confidential, that's protected by law. You have proof that the IRS leaked your confidential donor information to a group that opposes your point of view. And your donors were harassed as a result of that. Is that correct?
EASTMAN: Yes.

As Dennis Prager pointed out in his show, this is the most serious chapter of the IRS scandal. A brief transcript:

PRAGER: People will more openly talk about marital problems, and certainly child problems, than they will disclose their financial data [...] And so to publish people's tax returns is to in some ways strip them naked in public [...]

EASTMAN: [...] what was leaked to the Human Rights Campaign was Schedule B of our tax returns, which is our list of major donors and their addresses. And that is as private of a tax return as your own individual 1040 tax returns. And it's a felony for anybody to disclose that information without your permission. The Human Rights Campaign posted this on their website and we immediately called for them to take it down [...]and this is a felony. It is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, to disclose somebody's tax returns without authorization [...]The Human Rights Campaign had been trying for a long time to get our donor list so that they could do just that to our donors [harass and intimidate them]. The president of the Human Rights Campaign, Joe Salmonese, had just recently become a national co-chair for the Obama re-election campaign.

While bad enough, this is only the tip of the iceberg -- the gay lobby is also gleefully co-opting military and police forces to hound its enemies too.

What is sadly (and terribly!!) ironic, is that since the military allowed openly homosexual men to serve and be "out" in the military,  the sexual assault rate rises by 35% (mostly homosexual rapes).

The following points within the article should be welcomed by those of us who agree with the stance that marriage is the union of one man and one woman and that homosexual behavior is sin, an abomination in the face of God, undesirable, unhealthy, disease-filled, and as the Bible tells us something to be avoided.  Those who engage in it should do as any other sinner - confess and repent before Holy God, ask for forgiveness, turn away from such aberrant behavior, and ask Jesus Christ to indwell their hearts in order to help them live according to God's laws and His better plan for their lives.

Seeing Yourself Biblically vs. as an I AM Imposter [Video link added!]

One of the reviews in the back of  Pastor Miles McPherson's new book, "God in the Mirror - Discovering Who You Were Created To Be." is written by Mark Driscoll, founding and preaching pastor, Mars Hill Church; NY Times bestselling author:

"In this helpful book, Pastor Miles shows us that unless we see ourselves biblically we will have a false identity that leads to a life of misery."

Since I am only on chapter 8, the following discussion does not cover the entirety of what you will learn from the book.  However, it is a brief discussion, including some analysis from Scripture, about the overall importance of what is discussed in chapter 2.


Pastor Miles writes:

Once you have adopted Satan's identity for yourself apart from God, you have to validate that identity by proving your value and importance. You become chained to earning acceptance and approval, always working to be something, to make something of yourself. The devil will be right in your face challenging your identity, like he challenged Jesus by demanding He prove Himself in Matthew 4: "If you're the Son of God, prove it! Do this, if you are the Son of God, do that." The devil will confront you in the same way.

Pastor Miles goes on to describe some of the bad or sinful ways that Satan will go about tempting you to "prove" yourself.

This section got me to thinking about all of the craziness, corruption, and chaos that people create in their own lives, which then affects other people and their lives.

Why?

 It all starts because they have "exchanged the truth for a lie."

I suggest reading the entirety of Romans 1.

The Romans 1:25 verse informs us:

Rom 1:25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

However, reading some of the prior verses as well as the verses following Romans 1:25, puts what Paul is talking about into more clarity:

Rom 1:22	Professing to be wise, they became fools,

Rom 1:23

and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

Rom 1:24

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,

The verses following Romans 1:25 tell us what RESULTS from uncleanness, lusts of the heart, and dishonoring their own bodies:

Rom 1:26	For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
	Rom 1:27	Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Homosexuality is being presented these days as "the new normal." But God's Word tells us differently. It isn't "the new normal" - it has always been an abomination and sin before God's eyes.

Note that Paul mentions "vile passions." This passage includes heterosexual sexual sins as well (like pornography, adultery, abortion, prostitution, bigamy, polygamy, bestiality etc.).

Paul goes on to write many other sins that people get involved in and how they are negatively affected by them. The I AM imposter is fervently fed by such things:


Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

Rom 1:29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, [fn] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,

Rom 1:30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Rom 1:31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, [fn] unmerciful;


We could all probably spend days, weeks, months and even years giving examples of those who have been caught up in such vile acts and actions. It is truly awful to see how debased minds in government, in the media, in Hollywood, in aberrant businesses, in liberal/progressive colleges, in public education, in heretical churches etc. have changed America - and not for the better!

So, what do we do about it?

I think that Pastor Miles book helps give us direction regarding such matters.

He writes:

"You could spend a lot of years manipulating people or fooling yourself into being a little god, an I Am imposter, whatever he (Satan) has convinced you to be. What a waste of time. Would you agree that Satan has been successful in wearing you out trying to prove yourself, to be someone that God never intended you to be? I know people who spend their entire lives trying to fulfill someone else's vision or expectations for their lives, when in fact they would have been so much more fulfilled sticking to God's plan for them."

Pastor Miles provides a chart that gives a comparison between your I AM factor and the characteristics God intended for your identity, and those associated with an I AM imposter identity. God intended for you to rest in who He made you to be. Satan's identity will result in nothing but restlessness and unnecessary striving.

This is only the beginning, people. Much, much more in the book that will help you in regards to finding your true identity in Jesus Christ!

My prayer is the same as Pastor Miles:

My prayer is that God opens your eyes and reveals to you who you are and where your life is going so you will not allow it to be destroyed by Satan's lies.

It's amazing how brain-dirtied the ObamaBorg Bots (a.k.a. The "gimme-dat" crowd will continue to walk right into his trap of communism/Islamo-fascism without a whimper - until the economy collapses and they don't get their free stuff any longer.    Then, their "useful idiot" status will be gone.  Who knows what will happen at that point?  Well...the video gives us hints and it will be very ugly!

Unfortunately, history often repeats itself and people don't learn from history (e.g. Weimar Republic), so they fall into the same traps of evil leaders (in this case, a puppet kind of leader whose handlers are a combination of nefarious corruptocrats like the world has never seen before).

Today, we could add on the evil of radical Islam-fascism that has taken hold in the Middle East from the original cuddly and sweet-sounding "Arab Spring."

Envy Is The Great Leveler

It has been interesting to read blog posts which attempt to decipher the reasons why a certain percentage of voters "went Obama."  One writer at American Thinker has a theory:

We simply cannot understand Karl Marx, Stalin, Alinsky, Obama et al apart from envy and Schadenfreude.

Obama has been exposed over the past four years as a person who regularly utilizes all seven deadly sins in his evil habit of wreaking havoc upon Americans and America:

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work

I cannot recall a single instance where Obama has shown kindness towards those in whom he opposes. He has shown only hatred against them and generally attacks them on a regular basis.

New York (CNN) — A Manhattan mother returned home early Thursday evening to find two of her young children stabbed to death in a bathtub, as their nanny lay bleeding nearby, police said.

NEW: The father is a CNBC executive, officials familiar with the investigation say.
The mother, 38, had just returned around 5:30 p.m. to the family apartment on Manhattan’s West Side with her 3-year-old daughter, who she had just taken to swimming lessons, police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
All the lights were out in the residence, so she went downstairs to ask the doorman whether her two other children and their nanny had gone outside. After the doorman said they had not, the mother went back upstairs and started looking around, Kelly said.
Peering into a bathroom, she let out a scream upon finding her 1-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter stabbed to death in the bathtub, according to Kelly.
The children’s 50-year-old nanny was on the bathroom floor unconscious and bleeding from what appeared to be self-inflicted stab wounds to her neck, Kelly said. A kitchen knife sat next to her, according to police spokesman Paul Browne.
A neighbor, Sandy Marcus, told CNN that she called 911 after hearing the mother’s screams. Another neighbor recalled it was hard to ascertain what was going on since “everybody was screaming.”
The children were taken to Roosevelt Hospital and pronounced dead.
The father of the children is Kevin Krim, an executive with CNBC , several officials familiar with the investigation said.
The nanny is at St. Luke’s Hospital, also in New York, in critical but stable condition, according to Kelly. No charges have been filed yet in the case, he added.
Klein described the family at the center of the horror as “all-American” and “lovely.”
“It’s like something you read about in the papers, in some distant country, but never on your floor,” she said.

Here the story takes a dark turn! It turns out that Kevin Krim, the father of the two children stabbed to death, allegedly by the Nanny, is SVP and General Manager, CNBC Digital! And shortly after the murder of the children, CNBC pulled down the story regarding the lawsuit against the banks!
How long will the story remain at Marketwatch before it is “Orwellized?”
Are the children of the executives at Marketwatch even now in danger?
As a side note, the official story regarding the murders is that the nanny stabbed the children, then tried to slash her own throat. Suicide by cutting ones own throat is extremely rare, less than one percent of all suicides, and is primarily committed by men with military experience. Women committing suicide by slashing their own throat is almost unheard of!
While the corporate-owned media is proclaiming the “rush to judgement” guilt of the nanny (who has survived but cannot yet speak) she has not actually been charged yet, nor is there any apparent motive for the nanny to have done such a thing. whatreallyhappened.com/node/197971

If this man had been even just perceived as a Conservative Christian, the liberal leftist lunatic news reporters would have been all over this story!!  But when it's someone from the protected "class" of LGBT status, such information is downplayed.

Until most people wake up and realize that there IS SUCH A THING AS THE MILITANT HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA, which is intent on destroying what is good about straight Americans and America in general, we will all be vulnerable to the devastation that is being imposed upon our children and grandchildren.

Such individuals are being trained like the Hitler youth were - to believe in a cause that is evil and filled with hatred that they would kill in order to get there way.

When the angelic visitors in the Sodom and Gomorrah episode in the Bible came to warn Lot and his family to flee from there before it was destroyed, they were almost assaulted so that the homosexual men of the city could "know them" (which meant have sex with them). God blinded the sexual deviants so that they could not find the door which they intended to burst into in order to homosexually rape the angelic visitors. Despite the fact that Lot said to the men, "do not do so wickedly," the men were so crazed with their sexual intentions that NOTHING was going to stop them - until God intervened.

I think that this is a lesson for all to learn from. It is only when confession of sinful thoughts, words, and deeds are done that forgiveness can be given by God to rescue men from their evil ways.

Homosexuality is nothing new. It occurred in biblical times and throughout history. But today's generation is pushing to completely normalize it and demonize anyone who disagrees with them!!  Thus, the blindness of such individuals about their sinful state of being (especially as it is compared to God's holiness and righteousness) is so great that they and their supporters would do anything in order to avoid facing the reality of their sinfulness and repenting of their reprobate minds, actions, thoughts, words, and deeds.

The politics of the radical left; in fact, the Democratic platform in D.C. now totally embraces the idea of "gay" marriage. No wonder people are leaving that party in droves! Have you heard about the dozens of black pastors who disagree with Barack Hussein Obama on this issue??  Are you going to label THEM as a "hate group"? 

Today, it is certainly not the Democratic party of the era of John F. Kennedy, where one could be genuinely proud of being a Democrat.

My 88 year old mother ( a Democrat her entire life) told me that when Barack Hussein Obama stated that he supported "gay" marriage, that was the last straw in her book. She could NEVER vote for an individual who believed that! She thought it was AWFUL!  She is part of "the greatest generation," and I totally agree with her on this issue!!

In conclusion, I'm sure that there will be bloggers who will comment on this post, calling me the usual derogatory names and label me a BIGOT. Go ahead! Because as I have written previously on this blog, I embraced that label because to me, it means:

What Matters Most To You?

It is certainly disturbing to see all the damage that Obama and his minions have done to America.  Obama is evil and (sorrowfully) an unchecked criminal. But what is even more disturbing is seeing him being led like a puppet by evil billionaire puppeteers like Soros. Many of the activities done by the Obama administration are certainly treasonous.

All of their ilk may think that they are getting away with it.

God will NOT BE MOCKED!

God does see all that is done on this earth and the silliness of men with extreme wealth and unchecked power will all fall to dust and blow away in the end.

Isaiah 64:6 tells us that we all "fade as a leaf" and our "iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

But those who hope in the Lord Jesus Christ are reconciled back unto God!

Earthly "success," whether good or evil is temporary. Heavenly rewards are eternal. Those damned to hell will spend eternity separated from God forever.

Choose this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house - we will serve the Lord. (see Joshua 24:15)

Owning It... I Am Responsible

Many of the stories in the news of late have something in common.  Whether it be a politician, an accused criminal, a group of kids on a bus mercilessly disparaging an elderly bus monitor; or even our current Attorney General and pResident in the White House - they all refuse to admit that they are responsible for the trouble they have caused and the sins that they have committed.

There is a right way to own our sins, misdeeds, and failures.  Only sin that is owned can be overcome.

Dr. David Jeremiah shares the story of a well-known attorney in Pennsylvania who pleaded guilty to corruption charges back in 2009.  All of the details of his case, trial, and eventual sentencing were covered extensively in the media.  Dr. Jeremiah chose not to name the individual because it wasn't his goal to focus on the person's failure.  However, he recently highlighted a letter that the man submitted to the judge just prior to his sentencing:

"Your Honor, I take full responsibility  for my actions and in actions.  When I [got involved with the other guilty parties] I knew instantly that was wrong.  I had the responsibility to say no and not to assist them in any way...I knew better and I lacked the courage to say no...  I had the responsibility to refuse them...  I had the ability to do the right thing and say no.  I was wrong for giving in...  I was also wrong not to report this to the authorities...  I was both scared and selfish and I will forever regret that decision.

"...I apologize to my family for the hell I have put them through...

"Second, I apologize to my partners, my employees and my friends.  I am truly sorry...

"Third, my sincere apologies to [my] clients...

"To the Court, I apologize for the damage I caused...

"Last but not least, I apologize to the people of [our] County and ask for their forgiveness...The people of [our] County did not deserve this long nightmare.  For that I am truly sorry...

"I completely respect this Court and I am prepared to accept your decision.  I am confident your decision will be just.  Thank you.  Respectfully submitted, [Name]."

Dr. Jeremiah goes on to say that he can't make a judgment as to whether or not the accused meant what he said. That's between him and God. Only God truly knows the content of any one's heart, of course. Words can be cheap and often are in court cases when a person suddenly has a "courtroom conversion" experience in order to escape the judgment about to be rendered. In this man's case, he didn't mention God at all.

It is important to recognize that the man did not ask for letters from others who could have spoken on his behalf. His own admission of guilt and subsequent apology (it was a 1,400 letter of penance) was the only one submitted to the judge.

 The man ended up getting the maximum sentence in prison. The judge cited that he could have said "no" and walked away without becoming involved.

"Only sin that is owned can be overcome."

That is an important concept in Christianity. However, there are some Christian writers who (unfortunately) skip over the need for confession and repentance before asking God's forgiveness at the foot of the cross of Christ. Let me explain.

Two days ago, I was in a Christian book store looking for extra copies of the famous "Bible Promise" book. The two store clerks were busy with other customers when I arrived, so I started looking for the book on my own. I came across one book that intrigued me. The cover mention Jesus and the words he shared in the gospels. It was categorized by subject, ( e.g. "faith," "love," "giving," "mercy," "grace," etc.).   I was hopeful that I had found a good substitute in case I could not find the Bible Promise book. As I read the table of contents, I noticed that there was nothing in there that called for confession of sin, repentance, or ASKING for forgiveness. There was mention of God's forgiveness, but the act of man's part in all of this was missing! I was saddened. I thought that I had found a book that would share the gospel message accurately, but I was wrong! I often refer to such "Christianity" as the cross less gospel.

When Jesus came to John for water baptism at the time he was about to start his ministry, John the Baptist stated emphatically what the people needed to do:

Mar 1:3 "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.' " [fn] Mar 1:4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Jesus himself stated the need for individuals to repent:

Mar 1:14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom [fn] of God,

Mar 1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."

Every sin by an individual is FIRST a sin against God.  Therefore, every person needs to own his/her sin before God.

We can learn a hard lesson from King David.  In his psalm of confession for the sins of murder, deceit, and adultery, he said to God, "Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight."  (Psalm 51:4)

David could not make things right with the dead man, and he did sin against other people.  But what was meant by the term "only" was "ultimately."  Ultimately, every sin ever done by all people across time unto eternity, is done against God.

David Jeremiah explains:

Eugene Peterson captures the sense of David's words to God in The Message:    "You're the One I've violated, and you've seen it all, seen the full extent of my evil."

How "politically incorrect" is THAT statement translation in today's world!  Oooohhh!  You can't call anyone "evil" or accuse them of doing "evil" these days.  That's a BIG NO-NO! But Jesus called people and their deeds evil:


Mat 12:34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

Mat 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

  Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"


Dr. Jeremiah emphasized that we all must admit, "I have sinned." He writes:

We can't say, "I was forced to sin," "I was influenced to sin," "I was taught to sin," or " accidentally sinned." Those kinds of blame-shifting words are used when we have not yet arrived at the point of accepting full responsibility for our actions. There is no more contrite record of confession in the bible than that of King David following the revelation of his sins in Psalm 51. The only thing he didn't ask God to forgive him for was not coming forward on his own to confess his sins. It was only after Nathan the prophet confronted David, nearly a year after his sins, that David confessed (2 Samuel 12:1-14). The Anglican/Episcopal Church's Book of Common Prayer contains a General Confession that beautifully highlights both kinds of sin--commission and omission: "We have left undone those things which we ought to have done [omission]; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done [commission]; and there is no health in us." David confessed his sins of commission (murder, adultery), but should also have confessed his failure to come forward on his own (deceit) without having to be called out by God's prophet. But we get the sense from the depth of his anguish in Psalm 51 that he is confessing everything to God. He confesses not as the King of Israel who might have made excuses or asked for allowances. He confessed as a guilty sinner who was finally willing to own his sin.

If we paused here, I could name dozens, if not hundreds of sins that have been committed by our current excuse-making government. It is a sad but true fact that those who think they will "get away with it" in this life, certainly will not in eternity. There is but ONE WAY to overcome our sin. His name is Jesus Christ and his work was at the Cross at Calvary!

Dr. Jeremiah continues:

Only sin that is owned can be overcome. And I don't mean overcome only in the sense of a recurring sin. I also mean overcome in the sense of putting right that which sin has tainted. Sometimes the results of sin cannot be reversed. We all have learned that grievous lesson. But to the extent that relationships can be repaired, reparations made, and reconciliation enjoyed, owning and overcoming are prerequisites. First, we have to repent of our sin. Like Christ told the church at Ephesus, we must "repent and do the first works" -- the works of righteousness (Revelation 2:5). Repent means to change your mind; it means to turn and go the opposite way; it means to stop sinning. Second, we have to acknowledge (confess) our sin to God and to any against whom we have sinned, and ask their forgiveness: "I have sinned. Would you please forgive me?" (1 John 1:9) Third, we need to make reparations where we can. If our actions have caused loss to others, we must restore what they have lost to the best of our ability (Proverbs 6:30-31, where "sevenfold" suggests "payment in full"). Fourth, we must covenant with God to seek His power to avoid repeating the sin (Job 31:1). Regardless of how often we sin, we must purpose not to sin again. May God grant you and me the grace to be responsible--to own and overcome every sin!

It is only after the act of confession and repentance of sin that God with grant us mercy and grace through our Lord Jesus Christ. Mercy is God withholding what we deserve. Grace is God giving us what we don't deserve!

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for dying on the cross and taking my own sin upon your body so that I could be cleansed from all unrighteousness and have the Holy Spirit indwelling in my heart! You left my sin, and all the sins of the world behind in that grave when you rose again on Resurrection Sunday!  You're AMAZING LORD!  What an awesome Savior you are!!
