The Myth of Separation of Church and State

I read an article link while over at the TEA Party Community this morning, and wanted to share the article here along with some thoughts that I had after reading it.

I am not a Constitutional scholar (as Barry Soetoro seems to claim - ha!), and I'm not extremely well read on all of the interpretations of our Founding Documents.  However, I think that I have a good general knowledge of them; as well as how and why our founding came about.  Moreover, my 24 years of Bible study has helped me see that the truth of our founding is entrenched in Judeo-Christian laws, faith, and values that come directly from the Bible.

I would like to draw your attention to the long comment posted there underneath the essay. The author of that comment seems to be saying (at least that is how I interpreted it) that a completely secular government here in the U.S. was the goal of the writers of the Constitution. However, I disagree with that and here is why.

Before the Constitution was written, The Declaration of Independence came first. The document is filled with acknowledgement of God and pointed towards the fact that England's king usurped power by inflicting governmental power over the colonies (and, thus, was taking away their God given rights) while at the same time, the powers-that-be in England tried to form one government approved certain Christian denomination over the people. 

Our nation is (or was) based on Judeo-Christian values in order to preserve our freedoms, liberty, and justice.  But when government becomes all too powerful, it leads to tyranny.  Our freedoms, including religious freedom, are taken away.  Without God's Word as a guide, our nation would not have existed (IMHO) and this "great experiment" would not have survived.  Now, I'm not so sure of our survival anymore.  Those who would have us become a socialist/communist/Islamo-fascist nation are intent on rejecting the very principles, morals, values, and ethics that allowed us to become great in the first place.  They are getting away with corruption, deception, propaganda, and downright evil - all the things that created Nazi Germany, Leninist and Stalinist Russia,  Imperial Japan, and all of the communist nations with dictators (like Mao) that have killed hundreds of millions of people. 

The way I see it is that denying (or repressing) our Judeo-Christian values is having a devastatingly negative effect on our culture, government, freedoms, liberty, and the justice that used to exist here.

The current attempt to bring Muslim sharia law into our nation is proof that such a religion (more like a political jihadist "religion" of force) is detrimental to our Constitutional Republic and needs to be suppressed.  Why?  Because they want a caliphate - which means that their goal is to take over (by jihad) not only the U.S. but the world.  Even the perpetrators of radical Islam admit that Christianity or Judaism cannot exist in their world.  Even the non-religious aren't safe.  Christians, Jews and secularists are all labeled as infidels and deserving of death if we don't convert to Islam.  This is according to their "holy" book, the Koran.

I think that the balance of church and state can exist while not infringing upon religious beliefs that come from the Bible.  False religions and dangerous cults notwithstanding, the plumb line of Scripture guided our Founders towards envisioning a Republic (as Franklin stated when created - "We have given you a Republic...if you can keep it.") 

The principles that our nation was built on can only be kept by those with faith in God - and is not achievable without Him.  Why?  Because without the Creator and Judge of the Universe as a basis for good, anything goes and evil will flourish.  Just a few of my thoughts on this issue.

Happy Independence Day America!  As it turns out, yesterday, Egypt had taken brave steps in order to achieve their own independence from the radical Islamic Sharia-law jihadist Muslim Brotherhood leader, Mohammed Morsi.   He and many in his government were taken into custody by the Egyptian army.


The reactions here in the U.S. to this historic event that just happened in Egypt are certainly varied!

The heart of the matter is the burgeoning power of the state over our lives. The data being collected on us all is making former East German totalitarians of their Stasi envious. Last week I wrote: never before has the government of a nation spied and maintained intelligence upon its own population to any degree approaching this, without it being a totalitarian, terrorist regime. And the tragic distraction is that many notables seem absorbed with fulfilling the old adage, “Generals always prepare for the last war.” That is especially calamitous,

That has been going on for decades, fomented through Democrats and the top-down controllers of the Republican Party, alike

Muslim Brotherhood? They have had a working relationship with the CIA since Operation Paperclip (we inherited them from Hitler) according to noted investigative reporter/author, John Loftus. He reported on this extensively, years ago, significant slices into which are readily available online. And there we have “Arab Spring.”

Further, Obama’s NASA has given China critical strategic defense technology, his military flew a drone to Iran and left it for them to reverse engineer (though it could have easily been recovered), and they are collaborating with Russia in joint military “disaster response,” within the USA, to be engaged when they deem the time is right. This joint U.S./Russian effort, to quote the Russians, includes, “monitoring and forecasting emergency situations.” Having been educated to a degree in the arts and practices of the USIC, that is the United States Intelligence Community (suggestion: when we read “community” there, we should all say “awww”) what does one suppose that to mean?  It is the Obama regime doing that, hardly Ed Snowden. It is the Anti-American insurrectionists doing these things, not a resistance whistle blower, who prior NSA whistle blowers assured us had to leave the country, admitting “It was the only thing he could do.”

So, neither Marxists, nor fascists, nor Islamists are to be regarded as the enemy, nor as suspected terrorists. (We have them all in this “administration,” whether in “kinetic action” fact or in sympathy, from Obama himself, on down.) Who then are our personnel in intelligence, our armed forces, and “homeland security” being taught are the most suspected of any and all suspected terrorists?

The answer to that has been clearly reported from numerous sources by now: Evangelicals, returning veterans, constitutionalists, pro-lifers, and of course, those who take seriously our founders’ admonition of the Second Amendment, to form free militias, in order to practice vigilance for our Sovereign People’s state of freedom. In short, the chief enemies of the Obama/NWO regime are any who would take seriously the “duty” prescribed us by our national charter, the Declaration of Independence. to oppose their despotism by whatever means are appropriate and necessary.

This is not a matter of liberty adjusted for security, but of America vs. Anti-America, of popular sovereignty vs. despotism reaching totalitarian levels never before available. A government of free people does not “need to know” what its people are doing. A free people always needs to know what its government is doing.

There is no security in granting the state powers of hegemony over the People. That is utter insecurity. Last, but certainly not least (in fact, most importantly!!!) I want to share an Independence Day message and call to prayer that I received via email from the "Concerned Citizen" publication of Concerned Women for America:

  

  On this Independence Day, let's take time to reflect on the blessings we have in this nation. Our forefathers designed a government based on Biblical principles and one that would guide a people grounded in God's Word. John Adams' said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." 

 

We have strayed. Lost our moorings. And our society is showing the results of our decisions not to follow God's design for life, sexuality, family, and generally doing what is right in our own eyes.

 

      But we can take back lost ground - with His help and by His grace. 

 

      We ask you to pray for our nation. There are many critical concerns facing this great land. Ask God to give our leaders wisdom to protect our nation, its families and our freedoms.

 

Pray that all God's people will see the importance of being salt and light in our culture and take the time to pray and act, taking a stand for righteousness.

Election 2012: America's Next Crucial Date With Destiny

I am currently reading a book called "America's Dates With Destiny."  In the chapter "Declaration Of Independence Signed," we find out precisely what the motivation was behind the creators and signers of the document in declaring America's independence from King George III in England.

We can only imagine how furious the king was after receiving the document.  In fact, he dispatched Admiral Lord Howe on an emergency mission to Staten Island in order to demand that the declaration be revoked.  The king thought of himself so highly that the thought of "his subjects" in America refusing to obey the king's laws - by declaring their freedom from his tyranny - must have infuriated him!  What the king didn't realize is that the "subjects" in America were appealing to a higher law - the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God."

That phrase had a very specific meaning in the eighteenth century.  John Locke (1632-1704), the British philosopher, said it quite simply:

"The law of nature stands as an eternal rule of all men, legislators as well as others.  The rules that they make for other men's actions must... be conformable to the law of nature....i.e. to the will of God." (11)

Sir William Blackstone (1732-80), the great teacher of the English common law, wrote:

"Man, considered as a creature, must necessarily be subject to the laws of his Creator, for he is entirely a dependent being....And, consequently, as man depends absolutely upon his Maker for everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his Maker's will.  This will of his Maker, is called the law of nature." (12)
 

The book goes on to describe that one law of nature is gravity.  This could be described as "the will of God revealed in creation."  Gravity is a law written into the workings of this world by the Creator.  You don't have to believe in God to understand the law or to witness its power, but the law is there nevertheless, and breaking it results in immediate and sometimes painful consequences.

But King George had broken God's revealed law.  He had overstepped the limits of his authority established by God in the Scriptures and noted by the Magna Carta.  Again, using Locke and Blackstone as our guides, we might categorize those eternal laws that limit a ruler's power as the will of God revealed in Holy Scripture.  Blackstone wrote, "Upon these two foundations, the law of Nature and the law of Revelation, depend all human law; that is to say, no human laws should be suffered to contradict these."  (13)

We can definitely see how far our government has strayed from the original intent of both the Declaration and our U.S. Constitution.  They have done so at the extreme detriment to our nation.  There is A LOT than needs to be fixed.  But even a new leader can't fix it all at once.  It took decades to get to this point of the brink of destruction that we face (financially, economically, morally, internationally, militarily, and especially spiritually) and the only leader who will solve it all is Jesus Christ at the time of his return.  Living in the future Millennium will show us what the ultimate temporal life is like - and will adhere to the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" perfectly!  Meanwhile, we suffer under imperfect (and, unfortunately, often evil) "leaders" due to the "god of this world" and his penchant for spreading relentless evil, sin, and death.  But there is hope eternal - and that rests ONLY in the Son of God - Jesus Christ!

Back to the book chapter.

We have already discussed the Declaration's source of our Liberty.  Next, we find the Unalienable Rights of Mankind.

"Then, in the second paragraph, they got down to some specifics of that law, beginning with these eight wonderful words:  "We hold these truths to be self-evident...."

Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, and the others were about to list the great truths that led to the birth of our nation and to the eventual creation of a better kind of government.  Yet they told King George at the outset that those same truths with all their historic consequences were "self-evident" -- that is, they were plain, widely recognized, and needed no further proof or explanation.

Then they listed these obvious truths:

That all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men,
deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these end, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it.
 

The book goes on to ask the question:

And where did our forefathers find this basic list of unalienable human rights?  Again, they found them in the Bible.  God is the giver of life.  Moses said it in the Old Testament:  "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being." (17)

God is the giver of liberty.  The Apostle Paul proclaimed it in the New Testament:  "Now the Lord is the Spirit:  and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."  (18)

And God is the giver of humanity's right  to pursuit happiness.  King Solomon wrote about the pursuit of happiness in his ancient book of wisdom:  "And also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor--it is the gift of God."  (19)

The framers believed those basic rights were God-given.  They were not man-invented or state-granted.  And because those rights were from God, they were "unalienable."  They could not be sold, traded, or taken away.  Moses said it this way:

"God is not a man, that He should lie,...
Has He said, and will He not do it?
Or has He spoken,
and will He not make it good?" (20)

And Jesus Himself promised, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."  (21)

When God gives rights, they are forever.  The words of Scripture made that perfectly clear.  But the signers had also learned at their parents' knees that we live in a fallen world where sin and wickedness prevail.  Every new generation has its share of men and women who attempt to steal God-given rights from their neighbors.  Because of this threat, civil government was instituted by God to protect people's rights.  The Old Testament stories of those first kings of Israel gave our nation's forefathers the basis upon which to institute a more perfect government in this land.

The signers said it this way:  "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

Scripture informs us that after rescuing his people from Pharaoh,  God wanted to lead the Israelites directly, through God-appointed prophets, priests, and elders to be His voice among the people.  But the people wanted a king "like other nations."  We learn through the prophet Samuel that human kings would misuse and abuse them. 

God warned, "And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen...."(22)  But the people refused to listen, so God said to Samuel, "Heed their voice, and make them a king." (23)

God loved his people and established a godly pattern (the Ten Commandments for example) for the kings too follow; urging them not to turn aside from the commandments.

The apostle Paul reaffirmed this godly pattern for all civil government when he wrote, "For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God...For [a ruler] is God's minister to you for good...[and] God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil." (25)

Let me stop here for a moment.  Do you see a similar pattern in the election of Barack Hussein Obama here in America?  Some of the people were clamoring for a "new kind of leader" who promised the moon, but gave us the horrible situation that we are in now due to the Obama administration's  lies, deceit, deception, corruption, and dismissal of God's Word!  During the frenzy of the 2008 election, signs of "hope and change" were everywhere.  And Obama gave speeches telling the people what they wanted to hear.  However, once he got into office the real roots of his rage [see the documentary 2016:  Obama's America] became so apparent that many former supporters of his are now totally against his re-election!

I think that God heard our fervent prayers during the 2010 mid-term election which helped stem the huge tide of destruction that was occurring against our nation!  The change in the House of Representatives stopped the avalanche of the liberal leftist agenda that was previously being heaped upon our nation and people. 

We now stand at the crossroads of whether we will continue spiraling down away from our God-given liberty and unalienable rights into a pit of doom and despair! 

It's your choice, America. 

Hopefully, enough of us will vote Obama out (while at the same time, do so overwhelmingly so as to overcome the voter fraud, deceit, and deception that we are seeing happening) and continue to PRAY TO GOD FOR OBAMA'S REMOVAL FROM OFFICE!!

The covenant between God, the king, and the people was simple.  The king would retain his office as long as he obeyed God and protected the unalienable rights of the people.  But if he failed and elevated his own good above the people's good, he would be removed from office.  The signers of the Declaration said it this way:  "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the  People to alter or to abolish it." (26)

If the truth be told, this writer, William A. Gensert over at American Thinker explains EXACTLY what must happen during this election season. Republicans must Breitbart Barack! The call for hard-hitting ads against Barack Hussein Obama during baseball games this Spring, and football games in the Fall, is a great suggestion!  As the writer points out, there are probably millions of Americans who are not paying attention to politics right now. They are too busy with important things - like their jobs, raising kids, and keeping their household budget afloat.

However, there are millions of others who are busy doing unimportant things, like playing video games, watching mindless T.V. shows,doing silly and pointless "farm building" on Face Book, or spending life with their headphones on. We need to be diligent and continue to share what the new media; (Internet blogs, conservative websites, forums, new film documentaries etc.) presents regarding the truth about Obama and how what he and his ilk present is not what our Founders envisioned. The media of mass deception will continue to be lapdogs and shills for this pResident, so people will not likely get the truth from there.

I have referenced the book "Ameritopia - The Unmaking of America" several times over the past month or so. I am currently in Chapter 11 - "Post-Constitutional America." It is the first chapter in section III entitled, "On Utopianism and Americanism."

In his own way, Andrew Breitbart outwardly, vocally, and publically lived his life the way John Locke describes it. And when he saw evil, corruption, injustice, political correctness run amok, and communism being implemented via this current gangster government, he worked to expose it for all to see. When one goes up against the strong political machine of liberal leftist wolves, a person can get beat up by them ...or even killed. We do not know as yet the exact cause of Andrew Breitbart's death, but with all of the vetting videos now coming out against Hussein, we can see exactly why he could have been targeted. In the end, we may look back and see his untimely death as a sacrificial turning point that will lead to Obama's defeat in November.

Back to Levin's book:

"It is often asked as a mighty objection, where are, or ever were, there any men in such a state of Nature?...The promises and bargains for truck [trade], etc....in the woods of America, are binding to them, though they are perfectly in a state of Nature in reference to one another for truth, and keeping the faith belongs to men as men, and not as members of society" (2,14).

When we want to see the difference that the role of true faith exercises in Americanism vs. Utopianism, look first to the Bible, and secondly to the difference between Individualism vs. Collectivism.

Levin continues:

Concisely put, this is the heritage and lineage of the American people, which dates hundreds of years before the American Revolution and transcends all else. From the earliest settlers escaping persecution or seeking opportunities in the New World, to the original colonies asserting self-rule through popular sovereignty and numerous local governing bodies; from the demand for independence, the assertion of inalienable individual rights, and the Revolutionary War, to the founding of the constitutional republic to secure individual liberty and the civil society, the American people engaged in the most widely considered and far-reaching exploration of humanity--its meaning, cultivation, and application--in world history. Even half a century after the adoption of the Constitution, the character and psychology of the American people were apparent to Alexis de Tocqueville, who wrote, "They have been allowed by their circumstances, their origin, their intelligence, and especially by their morals to establish and maintain the sovereignty of the people" (Democracy in America, 1, 54).

The coast to coast cry for the "sovereignty of the people" is what brought the rise of the TEA Party Patriots back in the Spring of 2009. And getting back to our Constitutional Republic founding will probably take decades - but it can be done now that Americans have been awakened by the totalitarian methods being used by our current pro-socialist government. This election will be crucial in deciding what direction our nation will head into - the liberty that a Republican leader wants under a Constitutional Republic; or the tyranny that is currently wreaking havoc under Mr. Obamination. That will be our choice, folks.

Mark Levin's Best Selling Book "Ameritopia"


I have just started reading Mark Levin's new book Ameritopia - The Unmaking of America.  I have only gotten through the introduction and first chapter, but just those first 26 pages are power packed with information that makes the book very hard to put down! I want to read it all TODAY!

I recommend this book to EVERYONE who rejects the intrusion of a radical government into our personal lives that is hell-bent on forcing policies that are anathema to our Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution!  Levin has masterfully shown, in a general sense, what the Obama Admin is trying to do to ruin America without even referring to him or his administration!  Unless you are blinded by ObamaBorgBotism, you will see the destruction going by Obama on every page of book!  Levin utilizes strong warnings against utopianism from our Founders and many others (including the critical works of John Locke, Charles Montesquieu, Alexis de Tocqueville) all the way up to and including Ronald Reagan.

As I read through just the first 26 pages, I kept seeing evidence of why, what, where, and how the Obama puppet is being led by billionaire puppeteers like evil George Soros to create an "Ameritopia" against the will of WE THE PEOPLE! Those of us who have been paying attention will see Levin's book as the exposure of all the corruption and destruction that is going on in Washington D.C. today! The book is a blueprint about everything that is WRONG with utopianism (which includes the terrible political errors of National Socialism, Communism, Islamism, social "justice," etc.); everything that the sane world and America have fought against throughout history! I think that EVERY American who cares about our nation returning to our Founders vision of a Constitutional Republic needs to read this book!  Buy several copies and give them out to your neighbors, friends, and ESPECIALLY your adult children!  Our children have been subjected to so much socialism in public school, college, and via the media of mass deception that many of them are not understanding of the dangers that utopianism leads to.  But ask anyone still alive from The Greatests Generation....THEY KNOW!  And they pledged their lives, their fortunes and sacred honor to defeat the enemies when they reared their ugly heads!

This morning, another comment trickled in at a post I did way back in July of 2010 regarding the harassment of the "American Community Survey" people.  It is only one small (but very annoying) example of what the Leftist Statists currently demand of WE THE PEOPLE (against our will, our Declaration, and our Constitutional rights, of course)  There are hundreds, if not thousands of examples of what ObaMARXIST wants to do (and, unfortunately IS DOING)  to "change" our Constitutional Republic! And it is NOT GOOD!

Levin admits that this shift to socialism/utopianism didn't start with Obama, but it has been greatly accelerated through his abominable and evil machine of an administration. We cannot survive four more years of this accelerated form of government tyranny!

Happy Independence Day Weekend!

Hope everyone enjoys a safe and happy Independence Day weekend! Mine didn't start out very well. My blog was hacked into on Friday. I think that I made a grave editing error and my dashboard was exposed for a few minutes. When I realized the mistake, I immediately erased what was causing the problem. Shortly after that, I could no longer log into my dashboard. I tried to get into my blog dashboard several times over the next few hours, but to no avail. I finally closed my browser and shut off the computer for the night, hoping that perhaps the problem would get fixed overnight by blogger.

This is basically what happened. After utilizing the "preview" button to look at my new post (Exposing A Loony Leftist Lie,) it just suddenly disappeared from the edit/compose box! I then received a message that I had never seen before. It said something like, "Post not saved. Could possibly have been deleted by another person editing the post." Those were not the exact words, but that was basically what the message was telling me. I got nervous. I thought that perhaps someone now had complete access to my dashboard.

Several choices entered into my mind. I thought about deleting this blog and starting over. I also thought about creating a new blog within a provider other than Blogger. I have noticed several of the major blogs that I have in my sidebar have done that. Perhaps they wanted to get away from Google/Blogger too.

My next thought was that I would loose over five years of blog posts if I just went ahead and deleted this blog! That would be a lot of work gone down the drain, so the option of deleting this blog was no longer on the table. Fortunately, the next morning, I was able to log onto my blog dashboard and everything seemed O.K.

Anyway, I would like to thank the readers who frequent here and the many guests who come by this blog via search engines. I hope that what you searched for, and read here at Talk Wisdom helped you.

As I walked my dogs this morning, I noticed that many of my neighbors have flags displayed outside their homes. Some have flag poles and display the flag every day. My husband recently put up a large flag near a window outside our home. We have always had a small one on a stick positioned upon our "Welcome" sign on our front door. 

It makes me happy to see the symbol of our nation and the freedom that it represents displayed by so many neighbors! I think that in these difficult times, with the kind of gangster government that our nation is suffering from, displaying the proud symbol of our patriotism towards our beloved country is even more important than ever. There are people who live in this nation who obviously show their hatred for our flag and what it stands for. They adhere to philosophies and a type of government that is foreign to most Americans. But the freedoms and liberty that the flag represents allows such people to trample on the very symbol that we love; but they, unfortunately, hate. Ironic, isn't it? I also think that it is very very sad.

I recently saw a movie called, "The Majestic." Jim Carrey starred in the movie along with Martin Landau and Amanda Detmer. I really liked the movie all the way up until the end. I guess you could say that I felt the same way one commenter at the link did when he wrote:

"I first hated this film when I saw it. I think my opinion's softened on it over time, but I will always hate it for the fact that it trivializes the HUAC trials and the seriousness of the anti-commie hysteria of the 1950s." - bxc85

I sincerely think that the ending of the movie was, in a not-so-subtle way, an attempt to re-write history. It did not project, as "bxc85" stated above, the seriousness of the anti-communist sentiment of the 1950's.

Just think about how people felt about radical Islam just after that tragic and horrific day on 9/11/01. Would people who lived through that change their minds about the threat of jihadist terrorism over the course of history? Would a little town of patriotic military families end up cheering a victorious sounding speech in a congressional hearing if the person speaking the words was a pro-radical Islam supporter? I don't think so!!

It is so typical of liberal leftists to gloss over any person or group who is, has become, or always has been radical and dangerous to our way of life. What more can I say about this?

I also think that it is a terrible thing to realize that this movie was made in the same year that the terrorism attack on our nation occurred. Perhaps it was made and released before that tragic day, but I also think that it was inappropriate considering how dangerous communism and nazism was in the 1950's. I can't help but wonder what my father would have thought of the movie. He fought in WWII, and could not bring himself to discuss the horrors of that war. To trivialize communist sentiment during a Congressional hearing should be anathema to any truly thinking person.

I was brought up to believe that communism was very bad. Why? Because MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WERE KILLED! President Ronald Reagan cemented that belief with how often he discussed the need to defeat it. Since he worked in both Hollywood and in both state (California) and federal government, he was very familiar and aware of the communist threat back then. What would he have thought about the ending of that movie?

It was a strange experience to view a film that I liked at first, but then found very disturbing at the end.

With A Firm Reliance On the Protection of Divine Providence

The title of this particular post here at Talk Wisdom today is taken from the final sentence of our Declaration of Independence. You can read the entire Declaration at U.S. History.org - Declaration of Independence

During the debate in New Hampshire between the candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, Michele Bachmann quoted a portion of the Declaration:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...

Congresswoman Bachmann quoted that section during an answer regarding her pro-life position. What is amazing to realize is that back in 1973, the Supreme Court chose a woman's political rights over and above the unalienable rights of a baby in the womb.

Unalienable rights:

Unalienable rights are natural rights that can not be taken away from you. Such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as stated in The Declaration of Independence of the United States. Rights that are given to you by your Creator. They are considered natural rights and not legal rights.

The good news regarding the abortion "rights" debate is the fact that more and more people are changing their minds from the pro-abortion position to the pro-life position. The question we all must ask ourselves is what would Jesus think about this? I think that there is no question that Jesus is pro-life. After all, he died on the cross to save mankind from their sins in order to be reconciled unto him and to give us life. With confession and repentance from sin, and asking Christ to enter our hearts as Savior and Lord of our lives and to indwell us in the form of the Holy Spirit, we have the assurance of living with him, for him and beside him in the kingdom of heaven for all eternity. He told us that he would never leave nor forsake us! That is the blessed hope that we have when we belong to Christ!

As I read the words of our Declaration today, I could not help but notice how many of the reasons why our Founders and We The People of the Colonies wanted to break away from the tyranny being imposed upon them by the British king. In fact, I noticed several of the reasons being similar to the oppression being inflicted upon us by the gangster government of Obama over the past 2 1/2 years. Can you spot them too?

The Declaration informs us how and why the U.S. Constitution was written the way it was - often called by the supposed constitutional "scholar" - Barack Hussein Obama - as so-called "negative rights" of what the government CAN'T do to its citizens!

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Thank God that We The People are waking up more and more citizens of these United States of America into seeing just how tragically damaging this puppet pResident in the White House, the puppeteers dangling him towards their Islamo-Communist-social "justice" tyranny in this depression, and those who would cover up all of the corruption, abuses, usurpation, illegal activities, and tyranny that is being imposed upon our States and people!

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Our Founders were geniuses!! The form of government that they gave to us isn't perfect - but ORIGINALLY, the closest thing to a perfect form of government that we might ever experience here on this earth.   Unfortunately, because so many have forgotten God and have drifted away from His Word, we are so far away from what was originally intended for our nation - a Constitutional Republic - that what our nation has become today is almost totally unrecognizable to what it should be!

I was astounded to hear a statistic that only 5% of the world lives in freedom. Did you know that? We can see the terrible effects that Islamic terrorism and tyranny is causing in all of the misnamed "Arab Spring" conflicts going on in the Middle East. The dictators do not want to give up their power over these people. But the people who have been terrorized by their evil leaders and the Arab terrorists living among them now want freedom more than anything else! And many are willing to give their lives for the cause!

I recently watched the movie "The Patriot" again. [Note: Plot described at link. See the movie first if you haven't already seen it.]

Here is just a portion of the plot:

At the beginning of the American Revolution, Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) is a South Carolina veteran of the French and Indian War and a widower raising his seven children. The year is 1776, and Martin is called to Charleston to vote in the South Carolina Assembly whether a levy should be passed in support of the Continental Army. Fearing the consequences of a war with Great Britain, Martin refuses to vote in support of the levy, which is nonetheless unanimous. Ashamed of his father's perceived cowardice, Martin's eldest son, Gabriel (Heath Ledger), enlists in the Continental Army against his father's wishes.

[Note: Additional spoilers ahead.]

At "The Patriot" link, you will read about the horrible sufferings that one particular family (and others) endured during the American Revolution. There is one scene in the movie where the main character (Benjamin played by Mel Gibson) loses his son Gabriel.   In his enormous grief, Benjamin decides not to fight any longer. But then, in one of the best scenes of the movie, we first see a huge American flag rising from a valley area and as the scene continues, we then see Benjamin riding on his horse holding that flag - riding to re-join the Continental Army to fight the British!

The Declaration continues:

To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

That phrase, IMHO, describes Obama and his terrible administration most accurately!!

I have a little research assignment for readers - if you care to participate. Please go through the list of grievances against the king of Britain and in the comment section, relate one or more of the grievances listed there to one or more of the many law-breaking incidences that Obama has done over the past 2 1/2 years.

In conclusion, the Declaration of Independence, in some of the finest words ever written, tells us exactly what we need to do now in order to get out of the mess that America is in [Hat tip to Glenn Beck because he has said this many times]:

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

“Dear Mr. Obama,

It is a fact, indisputable to honest minds, that there is virtually no aspect of your origins, personal or ideological, that are not somehow wrapped in fraud. The multiplicity of your actions which seem to defy all reason and all comprehension, however, are easily deciphered and understood in light of your real ideological father—Saul Alinsky, author of “Rules for Radicals.” Alinsky is your true origin in ideology and political methodology. Alinsky is your father and it is this father, Saul Alinsky, whose dreams you seek to fulfill every day of your life.

And how better can we understand and interpret Alinsky, than by noting that Alinsky literally dedicated his own book to Lucifer, also known as Satan.

Let us hear Alinsky’s own words of dedication and I quote: “(to) the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom—Lucifer.” Mr. Obama, if Lucifer was Alinsky’s ideological father, then you are Lucifer’s ideological grandson.

Leave it to Lucifer to seek to fundamentally transform Heaven, a place of absolute perfection; leave it to Alinsky to refer to Heaven as “The Establishment.” It is Alinsky who preached to generations of admiring radical protégés and I quote: “There can be no such thing as a successful traitor, for if one succeeds he becomes a founding father.” This quotation of Alinsky’s is not something taken out of context; it is the focal-point of his work and the end point to which his reasoning process leads.

Mr. Obama, you spent years teaching workshops on ‘the Alinsky method’; you raised money to fund the Alinsky Academy, while working with the unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist, Bill Ayres.

Alinsky’s own biological son has publicly reveled in your success, saying and I quote: “Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.”

Mr. Obama, from this time forward, we will view you through the Alinsky Looking Glass and interpret your actions with a spirit of utter distrust—irreparable distrust which you have more than earned, by your actions while holding the office of President.

Alinsky is all about being The Trojan Horse and are you not, Mr. Obama, the greatest Trojan Horse in all of American history? Alinsky himself believed that ‘true revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within.’ Alinsky also espoused another related maxim: “Wherever possible, go outside of the experience of the enemy.”

As you well know, this means: adopt a strategy that is something the enemy has never seen before and, therefore, cannot properly interpret, until it’s too late for the enemy to be able to mount an effective resistance and save himself. A perfect example of this principle in action is the new mission you have given the head of NASA.

You want NASA to make outreach to Muslim countries NASA’s #1 priority. This idea is so far out in left field that it defies comprehension—but, then again, you knew your NASA mission would have this effect on us, didn’t you?

We can’t see your dark purposes, because your actions go so far outside the experience of The American People. If we view this travesty through the Alinsky Looking Glass, however, here is what we see: Mr. Obama talking, in glowingly eloquent terms, about space programs no longer being “competitive” but
“collaborative.”

But this is just another, Alynsky-inspired sleight of hand and a classic bit of theatrical misdirection, isn’t it? When we look below the surface, however, what do we see?

We see the strongest protests against your policy from none other than the former head of NASA. You and the current head of NASA are talking about the importance of ‘helping countries establish space programs’ and you pointed to Indonesia, where you spent your formative years, as a possible partner.

How can this partnering with Muslim countries be done, without sharing NASA technology with these nations?

Mr. Obama, by these actions, you know all-too-well that you are putting technology into the hands of the very people who would use it in the creation of ballistic missiles that could reach any city in the United States.

Can any reasonable person deny that there would be a direct pipeline for this technology from any moderate Muslim nation “partnering with NASA” to a terrorist entity or a nation like Iran?

You can calmly deny your treasonous motives all you want—that’s the deceit & guile of your Alinsky methodology: denial after denial uttered in your calm, well-modulated voice. The only people in the room who are ever in the wrong are, of course, those who are expressing their anger openly—especially if it is anger directed toward you.

Once this NASA technology is in the hands of terrorists, the situation is irreversible—and that is exactly what you want!

Because you pursue a course of action that risks NASA technology finding its way into the hands of terrorists, you are therefore a confirmed traitor of the highest order and we demand that our Senators and Congressmen immediately put a stop to this unfolding travesty and call for your immediate impeachment.

Mr. Obama, you are most prolific. We see Alinsky’s signature methodology permeating Elena Kagan’s unyielding refusal to admit to contradictions in her words and actions.

Kagan embodies the artful dodger of Alinsky methodology. We rightly admire Senator Sessions’ dignified & forthright approach in the confirmation hearings. However, he is perhaps too much of a Southern gentleman to get as mean & aggressive as he needs to get, in order to defend America effectively against the likes of Elena Kagan.

Everything within us abhors the Republican leaderships’ simpering acquiescence to the momentum of this fraudulent confirmation process; theirs is an unforgivable lack of courage witnessed by their unwillingness to take bold action and to resist at all costs the ascension to our Supreme Court by a fraud such as Kagan—nor do they even show the fortitude required to mount a filibuster against this enemy of our Freedoms.

It is Kagan who argued to the Supreme Court that political speech can and should be regulated by the federal government, up to and including censorship of books.

It is Kagan who, as Dean of Harvard Law School, established Shariah law’s most powerful and prestigious beachhead in American academia to date: the Harvard “Islamic Finance Project’—directly financed by Saudi prince Alaweed Bin Talal, a member of The Muslim Brotherhood—the oldest Islamic terrorist organization in the world. The purpose of this project is to train American lawyers to practice Shariah-Compliant Law in The United States of America.

Have We-the-People heard even one question directed at this woman regarding her dedicated & concerted efforts to lend institutional respectability to repressive & unconstitutional Shariah law? We have not.

Remember: It is Kagan whose impassioned argument, before the Supreme Court, urged that American corporations should be permitted, under the guise of the 1st Amendment, to provide material aid to terrorist organizations and do so with utter impunity.

Finally, if confirmed, it will be Kagan who casts her vote on cases brought to the Supreme Court that will determine if Conservative Talk Radio survives The Fairness Doctrine or not; it will be Kagan who will hear cases as to whether Shariah law should be allowed in the United States as a “legal-system-within-a-legal-system”; it will be Kagan who will draw deeply from the well of radical Alinsky politics, her penchant for intellectual dishonesty and her ignorance of—and disdain for—“The Doctrine of Original Intent”—that the Constitution means precisely what the Founders intended it to mean. Given all the foregoing, is it not time to set a precedent in the Elena Kagan vetting process?

No Supreme Court nominee has ever before sunk so low as to be brought up on charges of perjury, during a Confirmation process. Furthermore, every single one of Elena Kagan’s statements are made under oath. Where an oath is administered, perjury charges may be brought.

In light of Kagan’s apparent utter disregard for the Truth and the abundant documentary evidence that proves this, what could be more appropriate than that a courageous Senator bring charges of perjury against her?

Therefore, we citizens of America demand that our leaders bring Elena Kagan up on charges of perjury, without further delay! Has Senator Sessions not said, repeatedly, that Kagan’s testimony under oath absolutely contradicts the facts that are key to examining her for confirmation? Has Kagan not lied—and does she not continue to lie—under oath, by denying material facts that would disqualify her from serving on the Supreme Court, if she had answered truthfully & directly the point of each question?

No amount of “qualifiers” added to an answer make that answer truthful, when the net-net is that Kagan’s answer is “yes” when the facts say “no” and “no” when the facts say “yes.” A half truth is a whole lie. Kagan speaks anything but “The Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth”—which is just as Saul Alinsky would have it.

Mr. Obama, we don’t know why you hate America but, then again, we don’t know why Lucifer hated Heaven either. We stand irreconcilably opposed to you and your plans to destroy America.

The actions you are now taking will inevitably bring this about, if you are not stopped. We will act boldly, as law-abiding citizens, to do whatever it takes to save this Free Republic, to stop and decisively defeat you & your accomplices and, thereby, restore our country’s security and Freedom.”

Afterthoughts About July 4th

Sometimes it can be hard to describe the mood of a group of people who took to the streets to protest this current out-of-control government. You can get a sense of what they are thinking due to the signs they were holding during the protest. I can only share the feeling that I personally got while standing there, waving my American flag and watching the actions, and reactions of the crowd.

I started up a conversation with the lady who was holding a sign that read: "90% Tax Increase for Congress!!" She told me that earlier, the "Don't Tread on Me" guy was sitting on the stone granite horse statue that was located on one corner across the street from the pond. He sat there for an hour, waving his huge "Don't Tread on Me" flag. The lady surmised that perhaps it got too hot (temp reached 100 degrees) and that is why he got off of the horse. A half hour later, I got the chance to ask the "Don't Tread" guy about the incident. He told me that someone reported him to the city and an official came by and told him to get off of it.

The newspaper account estimated that there were about 1,000 people at the rally. Apparently, there were only four Obama supporters there.

Several attendees who went to the rally on April 14th said that the first rally had twice as many participants. We can only guess as to why many people chose not to participate in this one. July 4th holiday plans? The heat? Or, apathy? Who knows.

I did sense that the people there were fiercely loyal to our country. The signs they held were proof of that. On the other hand, their total disgust for our current government - including Democrats and Republicans in Congress - was quite evident.

Before picking up Donna and driving to the rally, I looked in a few stores for some patriotic items. Target had NOTHING. I was saddened and disappointed to see that. In their typical "$1.00" section at the front of the store, I did see a shelf label that said, "flags - 2 for $1.00." That made me feel a bit better. Perhaps they just sold out of everything. There were also some children's rubber sandals with the stars and stripes on them. That didn't thrill me so much. I thought of how ObamaFRAUD and clueless Congress are trampling on our rights, freedom and spending OUR MONEY like DRUNKEN SAILORS (just a saying). Putting a flag design all over the sandals doesn't honor our nation very well. Just my humble opinion, of course.

Next, I went into our local Old Navy store. They had a small display of T-shirts that had a flag design (similar to the one I was wearing) with "Old Navy 2009" under it. I was hoping to find a visor to wear. They had some hats, but I don't like to wear hats.

Then I went into Michaels. That is where I found some flags. There were some craft items and Mylar balloons, but not much else.

I was very saddened by this. Perhaps I just went to the wrong stores, but I can remember seeing hundreds of items for sale on previous July 4th holidays! What happened this year? Is it just because of the economy? Or, was it due to apathy on the part of American retailers? I don't know.

Lastly, I gave it one more shot and walked into Albertsons grocery store. Every holiday, they usually have a big display of items to buy for each particular occasion. Not so this time. No big display, only a few mylar balloons. The next day I went to Stater Bros. for some groceries. The only thing that store had were patriotic flag paper plates and napkins!

Why?

Why so little merchandise available to the public to celebrate our Nation's 233 years of existence since its birth?

It saddened me. Truly saddened me!

Is Independence Day going in the same direction as other holidays? The secular powers-that- be have turned Christmas into "Winter break." Easter is more about bunnies, Easter eggs and baskets rather than the celebration of Christ's Resurrection. Is Independence Day now just another holiday where people pay less attention to its true meaning and more attention to their own whims of gratification?

The Obama File drew my attention to an article where the author described this July 4th as "divided and grim. "

I don’t think I’ve ever seen my country so divided and depressed on the Fourth of July in my lifetime and -- no matter what Bob Dylan dreamed up -- I’m not young, forever or otherwise. That includes the Vietnam War period when both sides at least had some conviction and excitement for the future, even if wrong. Not so now. The current situation is grim.

Obama is already over. In six short months, the now-spattered bumper stickers with "Hope and Change" seem like pathetic remnants from the days of "23 Skidoo," the echoes of "Yes, we can" more nauseating than ever in their cliché-ridden evasiveness. Although they may pretend otherwise, even Obama’s choir in the mainstream media seems to know he’s finished, their defenses of his wildly over-priced medical and cap-and-trade schemes perfunctory at best. Everyone knows we can’t afford them. His stimulus plan -- if you could call it his, maybe it’s Geithner’s, maybe it’s someone else’s, maybe it’s not a plan at all -- has produced absolutely nothing. In fact, I have met not one person of any ideology who evinces genuine confidence in it.

On the foreign policy front, it’s more embarrassing. He switches positions every day, such as they are, while acting like a petit-bourgeois snob with our allies and then, when people with genuine passion for democracy emerge on the scene (the courageous Iranian protesters), behaves like a cringe-worthy, equivocating creep. Enough of Obama.

I don't necessarily agree with the rest of the post at that link. However, this sentence is certainly apropos:

But don’t get me wrong - I love my country. And maybe it’s because I love it so much that I am so depressed. Yes, I know it’s always darkest before the dawn and all that. And I want to “look at the bright side,” as my grandmother always advised. Still, these are dark times and it’s hard to pretend otherwise. Obama’s eager aide-de-camp Rahm Emanuel wants to seize on this as an opportunity - and perhaps he’s right. Only not in the way Emanuel would suggest, ramming through Obama’s ill-conceived notions.

I think that the phrase, "I love my country...and maybe it's because I love it so much that I am so depressed" applies to millions of people as they somberly celebrated our Nations' founding this year. How much longer will we be able to enjoy our God given, hard fought for freedoms? Benjamin Franklin once said, "We have given you a Republic, if you can keep it."

Where are the gatekeepers??? That's what I want to know!!

Actually, I do know who the gatekeepers are. They are first and foremost, our brave, bold and honorable military!! God bless each and every one of you!!

Next, the additional gatekeepers are you, me, and every other citizen of the United States of America who value our Constitutional Republic and the freedom that title represents!

I think the funk we feel is perhaps a function of despair…despair brought on by the inexplicable degradation of our fellows. There is a profound sadness when the minorities behave in a bigoted fashion and those we thought loved freedom appear surprisingly willing to toss it overboard for little rewards or facile atonement. When our educators, we so deeply respected seem to have defiled our youth for a bit of silver…despair when we wonder why the defenders of our freedom seem no where to be found. I don’t know how old you are but I think old enough to have lived through the 70s, yes? Talk about a demoralized and depressed nation! It was a horrible time. We had just lost a war and 58,000 lives in Vietnam, the President was forced to resign, there were gas lines, inflation was through the roof, American hostages were being held in Iran and nobody seemed to have a clue what to do about any of it. I’m sure that there have been other times as well in our history when all was bleak and the future drab and unappealing. And yet we endured. And survived. And better times arrived.

It helps me to remember that right now there are thousands upon thousands of American men and women, most of them much younger than I am, who are serving in war zones and putting themselves in harm’s way and every day when they get up they put on a uniform with an American flag on the shoulder and they go out to face the day, knowing it might be their last. They don’t get to spend a lot of time being depressed and sad. They have to believe there is something worth fighting for. They have to stay the course. And surely a country that was unworthy of the sacrifice would not be this privileged, to have such fine men and women willing to lay down their lives for her.

Maybe we’re just in a dry season right now. The first decade of the new century has been an eventful one for us, from the disputed 2000 Presidential election to 9/11 to the Iraq war and now the financial meltdown with the bad economy and lots of fraud and scandal and failed leadership everywhere. But we’ll fix it. We always do.
