God Loves You and Wants You With Him Forever

This day we honor all of our Veterans, both those living and those who have passed on in their duty to help keep America safe, as a land of liberty, freedom, and justice for all. We must realize,  recognize, honor and give thanks to all of these heroes for all of  their sacrifices for our sakes.  When we remember and reflect upon all that has been done by our brave military men and women; it is only then that we know,  in our hearts, minds, and souls,  that they have dedicated their lives and sacred honor in order for ordinary citizens, like me and you,  to enjoy the freedoms of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness here in the United States of America.  Let us thank them, in every way possible, for their service!

Today also happens to be Sunday - the Lord Jesus Christ's day - where we attend services all around the nation (and around the world) to honor our Savior, Lord and King.  One day, believers will be with Jesus.  We will also be with all the loved ones in Christ who have already passed on into eternity.

Today's message from Dr. David Jeremiah in his series called God Loves You - He Always Has and Always Will was truly awesome!

You can view the message at:

David Jeremiah.org: God Loves You and Wants You With Him Forever | Week of November 11, 2012

After the disappointment that many family members, friends, and fellow Christians felt about the election on Tuesday, it is good to take our thoughts away from this temporal earth and see what God has in store for us In The Father's House.  Jesus told us that "in my Father's house, there are many mansions."

Here's the entire verse:

Jhn 14:2"In My Father's house are many mansions; if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Dr. Jeremiah does a brilliant job of providing many Scriptures that whet our appetites for heaven!  There is a very good reason why we can never be completely satisfied here with life on earth.  And the biggest reason is because God has placed eternity upon our hearts.  We yearn and long for something else - other than what we experience in this world.  Knowing this makes the disappointment of the election absolutely pale in comparison.  At a time when many are grieving over the horrid direction our country is moving, it is so good to know that no matter what happens in politics, it is only temporary.  We grieve, but not as those who have no hope.

Rom 8:38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

Rom 8:39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What's more, even though it is normal and natural to grieve deeply for those loved ones who have passed on, the hope of Jesus Christ gives us an eternal perspective which the secular world cannot.

1Th 4:13But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.

The Great Evacuation

Dr. Jeremiah presents "The Great Evacuation" sermon which was taped at a rally in Alabama.  For those Christians who may not understand the difference between The Rapture and The Second Coming of Christ, this is an excellent study that uses lots of Scripture to describe the difference between the two and when each will happen as we head towards the culmination of history.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we all need to spend time and reflect; remembering all of those brave military men and women who sacrificed their own lives throughout the history of our nation for the security of our country, the liberation of those who have been oppressed in other lands, and for the liberty and freedoms we enjoy here in the United States of America.

The crosses in the cemeteries where our fallen soldiers have been laid to rest remind us of all of those who died in relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord.
There is a noticeable difference between those who "die in the Lord" and those who die without knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  Everyone grieves when a loved one dies.  Jesus himself wept at the death of Lazarus; despite the fact that he was able to raise him back from the dead!  But Lazarus later died physically, again,  probably of old age.   Knowing our eternal destiny allows us to not "sorrow as others who have no hope" [See 1 Thessalonians 4:13].

Everyone dies (unless you are a Christian who is alive at the time of the Rapture - for then you will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air!) and our destiny is determined according to what a person does regarding answering Jesus' question,  "Who do you say that I am?"
When a loved one dies in Christ, he/she is not lost.  All Christians will be reunited one day at the Rapture.  We will recognize each other and enter into heaven together with Jesus.  What a glorious day THAT will be!!

1Th 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. [fn]

1Th 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive [and] remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

1Th 4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

The Ultimate FREEDOM

Sometimes it is important to take a break from our every day routines. This past weekend, I took a nice friend's advice (thank you Steve!) and took a break from blogging.

It took me some extra time to come online today. It is past 3:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) right now and I have been trying to decide what to write about here at Talk Wisdom. I take what I write quite seriously. I do not write about trivial matters because I happen to think that is a waste of time. I often post warnings about the current dangerous political climate out there and how our liberty and freedoms are being eroded away. Many people are scared about the direction of our beloved nation. Many are claiming that this next election will be one of the most important in the history of our nation. There is no question that all of those concerns are legitimate. There is a LOT to worry about these days here in America.

We are not living in the America that I grew up in back in the 50's, 60's and even the 70's. But the progressive movement that had been building slowly over all  those years - almost at a barely undetected rate - has now been radically unleashed by the Obama era. People who may not have noticed the changes back then have now been awakened to the fact that such changes are growing exponentially and are not healthy for our nation. One big example of this re-awakening was the development of the modern day TEA Party movement three years ago! The following is a copy of an email I received today about that:

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation

Dear Patriot,

Happy 3rd anniversary!

It's been almost exactly three years since Americans from all walks of life took to Main Streets across this great nation in one of the greatest, most peaceful citizen revolts in our history...

The Modern-Day Tea Party.

What started with “Santelli’s rant” spread first to the streets of Chicago, then to 40 cities and then to hundreds of communities as millions gathered for the April 15 “Tax Day Tea Parties.”

Those “Tea Party” events have helped re-shape our political world -- shining the light of truth on runaway government spending and re-focusing the debate on Liberty and Limited Government. And Grassfire Nation team members are intimately connected with the Tea Party. Hundreds of thousands of Grassfire Nation members took part in this great moment in American political history. So, Happy Anniversary!

+ + Special Tea Party Tribute

To help commemorate the 3rd Anniversary of the modern-day Tea Party, Grassfire Nation is thrilled to offer our team “Signs Of Freedom” -- one of the best tribute books honoring the legacy of the Tea Party.

This "coffee table" style tribute book takes you on a journey through the eyes -- and the signs -- of citizen-patriots who moved a nation with their passion and resolve.

In appreciation of your contribution to Grassfire of ANY AMOUNT, we'll send you "Signs Of Freedom" as a keepsake reminder of all that the Tea Party movement has meant to our nation. Go here:

Commemorate The Birth Of The Modern-Day
Tea Party With "Signs Of Freedom

The Left has done everything in its power to demonize and destroy the Tea Party. They have called us terrorists and zombies who have held our nation "hostage." Just about every email from the Pelosi machine or the Obama campaign talks about the "radical Tea Party." But the truth is, the Tea Party represents the heart and soul of this great nation. And what motivates us is a deep love of our country and a desire to save our freedoms from the Big Government statists.

I hope you will request your "Signs Of Freedom" tribute book -- in honor of what millions of patriotic Americans did three years ago in reigniting the flame of liberty in our land.

Steve Elliott

P.S. In the coming years, I hope to use my copy of "Signs of Freedom" to share with my children and grandchildren about this incredible movement in American history called the "Tea Party." This coffee table quality book can help tell that story.

The modern day TEA Party movement commemorates the kind of freedoms that God gave to us through the Founders of this wonderful nation. However, it is also a reminder of what could be lost if we do not stand up for such freedoms!

But there is a 'FREEDOM' that surpasses any kind of freedom that we would experience on this earth. It is the freedom that is given to all believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

I hope that readers here have been following Dr. David Jeremiah's new series "7 Days Until Christ Returns." This past Sunday's message was quite riveting! You can view it HERE

In this message on giving thanks Dr. Jeremiah points out the many things that we have to be grateful for—our family, our faith—but most of all our future.

Many times in Scripture we are told to "fear not." Why? Because of what Jesus Christ has done for us due to his finished work on the cross! In eternity, there will no longer be any fear, pain, tears, sorrow, or death!

Today's devotional:

No More Fear

Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid.
Isaiah 12:2a

Recommended Reading
Isaiah 12:1-3
The word "Armageddon" shows up daily as journalists discuss the fears facing our world. But perhaps the thing bothering you today isn't Armageddon. It's the deficit in your bank account, a problem in your home, or a rift in your church.

Listen to Today's Radio Message

One of the great phrases in the Book of Revelation is "no more." We're told of a day for God's children when there will be no more tears, no more death, no more sorrow, no more crying, no more pain.

Clarence Macartney said: "When I read those great 'no mores' in the book of Revelation where the heavenly life is described... I feel I would like to add another great 'no more'--'There shall be no more fear.' When Christ was born at Bethlehem, that was what the angels said to the shepherds, 'Fear not.' Christ came to banish fear... Over the portals of heaven are written these words, greeting man as he enters the heavenly city, 'Fear not!'"

Whether you're worried about Armageddon in the future or aggravations today, trust Him and don't be afraid.

The Psalmist said, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee." That is good, very good. But still better is what Isaiah said, "I will trust, and not be afraid."
Clarence Macartney

Read-Thru-the-Bible
Judges 21:1-Ruth 4:22

When we look at everything that I have shared today, there is no doubt that man can contribute to "signs of freedom." But the ultimate FREEDOM - IS IN CHRIST THE LORD.

May God continue to bless each of you and may He continue to uphold and bless the United States of America!

When Christians Wouldn't Know They Were in a War

I have pre-ordered Dr. David Jeremiah's new book, "I Never Thought I'd See The Day - Culture At The Crossroads." and look forward to receiving it when it is released on October 2nd.

Our culture is at the crossroads, unlike any time in the past.  It is highly affecting people (whether they realize it or not) spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, politically, and also when it comes to the subjects of right vs. wrong, good vs. evil, and righteousness vs. sinfulness.

The new sermon series has begun and each week is more enlightening than the last! You can view today's topic, at David Jeremiah.org: When Christians Wouldn't Know They Were in a War | Week of September 25, 2011.

Excerpt:

Approaching the end of the age before Christ's return, we can expect an intensification of spiritual warfare. But too many Christians have failed to prepare themselves. In order to protect ourselves against the attacks of Satan, it is important to know who Satan is and what he does.

Click on the "Watch Now - This Week's broadcast" icon in the green box at the above link.

People who claim not to believe that Satan exists have not thought through the situation that we face here on this earth. Jesus Christ himself warned us about Satan many, many times during his three year ministry on earth. Since his miracles, death, and subsequent resurrection to life are facts of history, it would be wise to heed the warnings of Jesus in the Scriptures. The name "Satan" occurs 55 times in 48 verses in the NKJV Bible. He has other names as well, and is described as "the devil," "our adversary," and a "roaring lion who seeks to devour."

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because [fn] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

    Why Do Bad Things Happen?

The outrage that is swirling around our nation since the Casey Anthony "not guilty" verdict was handed down is a logical reaction, especially if you think she was definitely guilty of killing her daughter Caylee. On the other hand, if you are of the mindset that such outrage is not necessary because you believe that Casey was either "not guilty" or that the prosecution did not prove its case; then you aren't angry with the jury decision.

It truly is very sad, horrible, tragic, and upsetting to see someone get away with murder. But that's what evil does.

Jesus told us, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! For I have overcome the world."

While reading several blog and Face book comments, I have found that many Christians believe that little Caylee is in heaven with Jesus. It is a comfort to know that the Bible does tell us that there is an age of accountability (usually considered as age 7 up to age 12) where a child is automatically admitted into heaven upon death because such a child has not reached the age where he/she would be held accountable for his/her sins - precisely because a decision to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior has not been made.

There is no doubt that evil exists in this world. One of the worst kinds of evil is harming a child. Killing a child is unfathomable to most people - especially those who are loving mothers and fathers to their own children. Jesus had harsh words for those who would commit offenses against children:

Mat 18:6 "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Mar 9:42 "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.

Luk 17:2 "It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

But the promises of our Messiah - Jesus Christ - fulfilled what Micah wrote of in the Old Testament:

Mic 7:19 He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our [fn] sins Into the depths of the sea.

There is forgiveness. It is the gift of God through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is the ONLY WAY that ANYONE can be forgiven for their sins.

The evil that exists in this world is because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. From Adam and Eve's original sin - to the sins of today - we all "fade as a leaf" because of our iniquities.

"The greatest evil is the rejection of God and the hate towards man." - Pastor Miles McPherson.

When did Pastor Miles say that quote? In the first of his series on The Rock San Diego: "Why Do Bad Things Happen - Part 1, Why Evil?"

I highly recommend watching and listening to each of the sermons in this series. It may help to put many things in perspective.

The next sermon in the series is The Rock San Diego: "Why Do Bad Things Happen - Part 2, Why Worship?"

    Prophecy: Modern Europe...Ancient Rome

This morning, I watched the Turning Point T.V. broadcast of Dr. David Jeremiah on the topic of "Modern Europe...Ancient Rome."

How exciting it is to see biblical prophecy coming to fruition right before our very eyes! This is another example, and brief study, of how ancient prophets in the Bible (in this case, Daniel) prophesied about what the world would be like the closer we get to the Rapture, the rise of the Antichrist, and then Jesus' second coming.

If you are a Christian - you should view this video message!

If you are not a Christian - my advice to you is that you MUST view this video message!

Kevin Kaatz - (you are currently studying "the Christian religion," right?); Joe Brummer - (you used to be a believer for 30 years - right?); Mike Rucker - (you consider yourself to adhere more towards "Universalism" - right?); those of a different religion (Umm Yasmin?); all of the lurkers; all of the "Anonymous" people who comment at this blog, all of the non-believers who visit here...are you willing to listen?

Will you watch and listen carefully to the broadcast and share your thoughts afterwards?

P.S. If your time is short (physically, as well as spiritually - if you are not saved by Jesus Christ!), watch the brief introduction (it's important to the entire message) then fast forward past the worship music to view the message.

    God's Grace Is Permanent

On this Lord's Day, Sunday, September 7th, 2008, I would like to invite you to watch a wonderful sermon broadcast by Dr. David Jeremiah. The topic of discussion is:

    The Continual Praise of Grace

Nothing is Permanent but God's Grace

That is a strong and true statement! After listening and viewing the broadcast, I think that you will most likely agree!

During the sermon, Dr. Jeremiah quoted this:

Gratitude - The forgotten factor in happiness.

Hbr 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name.
