The Coming Inevitable Conflict Between Israel and Islam

In this crazy, mixed up world which, unfortunately, is being led (or, more accurately NOT being led properly!!) by the Obama BADministration, it is not hard to find examples of the Obamas being guilty of the typical adage, do as I [we] say, not as I [we] do mentality. It is shocking to me (but, not surprising when you think about this current dumbed down electorate we have that voted these big spenders back into office!!) to witness such aberrant and blatant hypocrisy from the most leftist, big government, wasteful spending, socialist, anti-Israel, commie/Islamo-fascist couple to ever be in office. But the good news is that maybe the media of mass deception is finally turning against the would be dictator and his Imelda Marcos kind of wife.

Obama's continuing and permanent campaign includes fund raising by granting "access" to Obama in exchange for being a donor.   Why is he still campaigning four months after the election of 2012?  Because he wants to lie to the public and turn them against the Republicans so that the Democrats can win back the House of Representatives.  Think about how devastating THAT would be!!  That's how we got the horrid ObamaScare bill passed - when the Dems were in control of the House, the Senate and the presidency. 

Going back to the "fund raising to gain access to Obama" revelation.   Could you imagine if George W. Bush (or any Republican) did such a thing? The media elites would be screaming from the rooftops AGAINST it!

I don't know what it would take for the media of mass corruption to really turn against Obama.  They are still too mesmerized by the Kool-Aid.

However, one group has told us why they would turn against him.  We have been warned by Hamas what would set them off against Obama.  If he attempts to go to the Temple Mount during his upcoming visit to Israel, all hell might break loose!

At this point, there are only unconfirmed rumors that Obama plans to visit the Temple Mount during his trip.

WND reports:   "However, last night Hamas stepped up its threats regarding Palestinian rumors that the U.S. president may visit the sacred site."

“Visiting of Obama with Israeli soldiers entering the Al Aqsa Mosque will actually touch the deep and the tender part of the Palestinian, Arabic and Islamic countries all over the world,” Mahmoud al-Zahar, Hamas’s senior leader in the Gaza Strip, stated.

 

Zahar apparently was alluding to previous Palestinian and Arab rioting instigated after then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s visit to the Temple Mount in 2000.

Zahar continued: “If he is looking to have this visit it means he is accepting Israel as a legitimate occupation, which is undermining his morality and his credibility. Jerusalem up to this moment and all of the Palestinian land is under occupation.”

The Hamas leader was speaking Sunday night on WABC Radio’s “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio.”
 

The question is, would Obama do such a foolish thing?  Let's just hope that Obama will heed such threats from Hamas in order to avoid a diplomatic catastrophe during his visit.

The usual Hamas propaganda of calling the LEGITIMATE STATE OF ISRAEL an "occupation of all of the Palestinian land"  tells us that the two-state solution that so many U.S. Presidents and Israeli Prime Ministers have tried to work out over several decades is still just wishful thinking.  The Palestinians and Arab Muslims will NEVER be at peace with Israel precisely because they refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist in the first place!  No matter what the United States does, the inevitable conflict between Israel and Islam is going to happen.  It is just a matter of when.

Those who believe that Israel has a covenant right to the land that they live in because it was given to them by God in the Bible is a simple way of explaining Zionism.  Not all Christians (or even Jews, for that matter) believe this.

In a recent post entitled Refuting Anti-Zionism, I included the reasons why biblically based born- again Christian believers support Zionism. Additional links at the bottom of the page [at link above] share even more information.   Unfortunately, the liberal side of Christianity doesn't agree.  Within that post, you will see an excerpt that explains their flawed reasoning in rejecting Zionism.

Only one of these positions is the truth.  God's Word tells us truth about such matters and man cannot compete with the wisdom and knowledge of the Bible!!  All that man can do is twist the truth to his own imagination and liking.  But when he does, he is being a liar.

Look, I realize that there are people who think they have good intentions on this issue (like George W. Bush and Condi Rice did with their "Road map to Peace" initiative), but they are still hopelessly confused about God's Word on the matter when they attempt to do something like dividing the land of Israel; and especially when it includes the irrational attempt to divide Jerusalem in order to gain peace. 

However, according to the Hamas charter, the Arab Muslim goal of "wiping Israel off the map" and "pushing Israel into the sea"  has never been revoked.   There is no doubt that they would rather fight to the death than to give up on their insane goal of destroying Israel.  Add in all the other Muslim countries that agree with such a mindset (like Iran) and you have all the reasons in the world to think that they will constantly be threatened and one day, will be attacked for the intent and purpose of total destruction. 

What protects Israel?  Or should I say Whom?  [Answer:  God!!]  We have seen many miracles where Israel has been attacked and saved from destruction.  We have witnessed biblical prophecy coming true right before our very eyes in this generation - from the proclamation of Israel as a State again on May 14, 1945 up until now.

God brought them back to their land that was their inheritance forever!

Eze 36:24

For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Amo 9:15

And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

And, don't believe the propaganda that the Jews sent the Palestinians out of the land! The Peel Commission Report reveals that areas were purchased from the Palestinians by the Jews.

That report is very long, but here is a brief quote that tells us what really happened:

An expert Committee should be appointed to draw up a Land Code.

Recommendations are made with a view to the expediting of settlement (the need for which is paramount) and to the improvement of settlement procedure.

The present system of Land Courts is contributory to delay. Until survey and settlement are complete there should be two or three Land Courts separate from the District Courts and each under a single British Judge.

Up till now the Arab cultivator has benefited on the whole both from the work of the British Administration and the presence of Jews in the country, but the greatest care must now be exercised to see that in the event of further sales of land by Arabs to Jews the rights of any Arab tenants or cultivators are preserved. Thus, alienation of land should only be allowed where it is possible to replace extensive by intensive cultivation. In the hill districts there can be no expectation of finding accommodation for any large increase in the rural population. At present, and for many years to come, the Mandatory Power should not attempt to facilitate the close settlement of the Jews in the hill districts generally.

The shortage of land is due less to purchase by Jews than to the increase in the Arab population. The Arab claims that the Jews have obtained too large a proportion of good land cannot be maintained. Much of the land now carrying orange groves was sand dunes or swamps and uncultivated when it was bought.

Isn't that interesting to read that the orange groves were planted by the Jews after the land was purchased and it was previously either swampland or uncultivated?

It was David Ben-Gurion - who was the first and third Prime Minister of Israel - who invited the Palestinians back into the land to live side by side with the Jews in Israel. The Jordanians were the ones who told them not to live there!

The Palestinians who live in Israel live peacefully side by side with the Jews.  How is that to be explained?  It is the hatred against the Jews taught by the  PLO and Hamas leaders that compound the problem of peace!

Yes!  God is ultimately in control!

He made the proclamation in Genesis 17:8-9:


Gen 17:8   And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Gen 17:9   And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

Deu 4:40   Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong [thy] days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

Jos 14:9   And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.

1Ch 23:25   For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:

Jer 25:5 They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

Refuting Anti-Zionism

I must admit that it is highly disappointing and disturbing to me when a blog post topic inadvertently spins out of control and ends up including a "blame the Jews" guest commentary that really had nothing to do with the original topic. That is what I found when I recently revisited Professor Tracy's Memory Hole blog.  After reading it, my heart sank.

For anyone who has been following Professor Tracy's research regarding the inconsistencies in the Sandy Hook school shooting, you just might be as surprised as I was at his "allowing" a blogger named James Fetzer to post what appears to be an anti-Semitic (but more accurately, turns out to be anti-Zionist) rant against the Jews. If you read the link above, you will see the letter written by a blogger who commented against the original post:

It is best to read the entire back-and-forth arguments over there, but my focus here is to address the supposed difference between someone being anti-Semitic vs. anti-Zionist.

In the typical "blame the Jews" and "blame Israel" mindset of liberal leftists here in America, the Arab Muslims have no blame put upon themselves for the horrible conditions for their people or the constant war against Israel situation in Gaza. 

When the so-called "leaders," like Hamas, would rather spend millions of dollars, if not billions of dollars, to buy weapons and rockets to send into Israel to kill and maim her people along with their edict to destroy (push Israel into the sea) the Jewish state rather than buy food, create a better infrastructure, educate their populace and teach PEACE RATHER THAN HATE against Israel; how is it that the Jewish state and Christian Zionism is to be blamed for all of the Palestinian ills and the obvious plight of their people?

Admittedly, it would take me a lot of time to type out rebuttals to most of what the writer at Media Monitors Network says regarding his essay pitting Zionism against the Bible.  I will make a guess that this was written by a leftist.  For one thing, the spelling and grammatical errors are very apparent.  For another thing, his misuse of Scripture is quite evident.  Here is one example:

Zionists say, based on their non-literal, speculative, spiritualized interpretation of Genesis 12:3, that we are to give total, unquestioned support to some of Abraham’s children, while others of Abraham’s children are to be hated, persecuted, ethnically cleansed, bombed back into the Stone Age, maybe even nuked.

I do not know of any Christian Zionists who think like that or would agree with such a barbaric "solution." Fighting against Muslim terrorists is not the same thing as what this author incorrectly presupposes in his rant. And labeling all Christian Zionists under such a ridiculous label is a LIE. So much for the author's subheading at his blog that states, "...where truth prevails."

Yes. The author is entitled to his own opinion but labeling it as truth is another subject entirely.

He goes on to write:

But in Genesis 21:13, 17-18 God also bestows His blessing on Ishmael and his descendants, saying, "For I will make him a great nation." According to the same principles of interpretation by which we have made Genesis 12:3 a command for political support of the modern nation of Israel, Genesis 21:18 must be taken as a command for political support of the modern Arab nations. (Anybody want to start up a "Christian Ishmaelist" movement to lobby for Arab national greatness?)
 

Years ago, during the "Ismail Ax" writings discovered after the Virginia Tech murders, I wrote a blog post which included the difference in how God views Isaac vs. Ishmael.

If you scroll down, you will see "The TRUTH from the Bible (NKJV). I will share two excerpts of Scripture written there and a brief comment:

Gen 22:1 NOW it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."

Gen 22:2 Then He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

Gen 22:3 So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

Note what God says to Abraham in Genesis 22:2 -  "Then He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac,"  YOUR ONLY SON!

Note what the Bible says about Ishmael (Ismail in Arabic):

Gen 17:19 Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

Gen 17:20 "And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.


Gen 17:21 "But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year."

Gen 17:22 Then He finished talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

Notice that God's Covenant is established with Isaac and his descendants. Ishmael's descendants were only referred to as a "great nation."

The term "great" can mean both large and/or  wonderful.  We know that the Arab nation lands are hundreds of times larger than tiny Israel - which is a nation the size of New Jersey.  History can determine whether or not both meanings of the word "great" apply to the Arab descendants of Ishmael.

An important milestone in the history of Christian Zionism occurred in 1979, almost a century after William Hechler approached Herzl and offered to mobilize Christian support for a Jewish state: the founding of the Moral Majority. Founded by Rev. Jerry Falwell, the Moral Majority was an organization made up of conservative Christian political action committees that succeeded in mobilizing like-minded individuals to register and vote for conservative candidates. With nearly six million members, it became a powerful voting bloc during the 1980s and was credited for giving Ronald Reagan the winning edge in the 1980 elections. One of the Moral Majority’s four founding principles was “support for Israel and Jewish people everywhere.”

 

In 1980, Falwell, who ran a television ministry that reached millions of viewers, said of Israel: “I firmly believe God has blessed America because America has blessed the Jew. If this nation wants her fields to remain white with grain, her scientific achievements to remain notable, and her freedom to remain intact, America must continue to stand with Israel.” Falwell disbanded the Moral Majority in 1989, but conservative Christians have remained vocal supporters of Israel though they lacked a strong formal structure for pro-Israel political action.

 

Christian Zionists, through their volunteer work, political support, and financial assistance to Israel and Jewish causes, have shown that they are stalwart friends of Israel. They have donated large sums of money to support Israel, including to charities that pay the costs of bringing Jews from the former Soviet Union and Ethiopia to Israel. For example, Pastor John Hagee has raised more than $4.7 million for the United Jewish Communities. Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to help poor Jews across the world move to Israel.

When I first heard the reports about Bully Biden's visit to Israel and how it ended up in U.S. Ties with Israel ending up in a 'Crisis of Historic Proportions,' what else do we need to know about ObaMAO'S OBVIOUS HOSTILITY towards the Jewish nation?

A member of the U.S. government met with organizers of Tuesday's "International Temple Mount Awareness Day" to pepper the activists about their intentions regarding Jewish ascent to the holy site.

"It was obvious," one of the planners told WND, "the individual who met with us from the Obama government was concerned about the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and what is being done to deepen it."

The organizer talked on condition of anonymity and also on condition that WND kept confidential the name of the U.S. official who met with the Temple event planners.

The International Temple Mount Awareness Day is being planned by a coalition of Jewish groups, including The Temple Institute, the Organization for the Renewal of the Temple (ORT), Women in Green, the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation and Israel National Radio.

"We call on Jews and Gentiles around the world to mark March 16th as a day of solidarity with the Temple Mount and the prophetic vision of 'a house of prayer for all nations,'" reads a statement from the organizers of the event.

In coordination with the Waqf, the Mount's Islamic custodians, police here ban all non-Muslims from praying on the Mount despite an Israeli Supreme Court decision requiring police to offer an arrangement that will enable public Jewish prayer on the site.

The Israeli police cite security concerns for their Jewish prayer restrictions, explaining they fear the outbreak of Muslim violence if non-Muslim prayer is allowed.

This is Barack Obama Inc. deliberately tampering with an allied government of these United States in running an intelligence operation out of NSA, with apparently no Congressional oversight, none from CIA and involving the sacred diplomatic corp as cover.

That is all quite illegal as it is an act of espionage, war without Congressional notification and using the State Department in the most duplicitous manner.

Once again, these are impeachable offenses for Barack Hussein Obama, Aaron Burr Biden and Hillary Clinton. Gen. Jones and George Mitchell at the very least should appear before Congress and at most this requires a Justice Department investigation as the American government can not be running Ehud Barak out of the White House and threatening Jews about building homes or threatening them about how they can pray.

seala - What about Jesus' admonition to watch for His return? He mentioned the signs of the times would be as in the days of Noah and the days of Lot. What do we know about those days? Hearts grew cold towards God. Noah's warnings were ignored by the violent, sexually immoral people. Sodom and Gomorrah was filled with the sin of homosexuality.

Look at today! Do you see similarities? Even your attitude shows disdain for fellow Christian believers that are still sharing the gospel and warning about the judgment that is to come.

You are correct that we are to live out our faith through love. But wouldn't you agree that one way we love nonbelievers is to warn them of dying without Jesus and being separated from God forever as a result?

We are to live, work, watch and pray. Jesus told us that all of these things are important. It is my hope that you will study your Bible more so that you will be prepared to evangelize the unsaved until Jesus returns. That is our duty as Christians. Remember the Great Commission given by Jesus before his ascension into heaven to be with the Father?

Christians may not know the day nor hour, but we have absolute confidence that Jesus will one day return. Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies in his first coming. Our faith is a reasonable and evidential one. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. We must believe that God is. Jesus asks each of us, "Who do you say that I am?"

I think that the fulfillment of hundreds of Old Testament prophecies by one Man - the Son of God who is Jesus the Messiah - ranks up there in mathematical probability for his return to fulfill the rest of the prophecies about Him as well as His promises to those who confess Jesus as Savior and Lord!

Despite your current rejection of Jesus and His Word, the Bible, there is still hope for non-believers! - That is, if you repent in time...

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.


2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The rest of 2 Peter informs us of how suddenly "the Day of the Lord" will come upon the earth.

2Pe 3:10 ¶ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

In the next verse, we are also informed that as followers of Jesus, we are to be in "[all] holy conversation and godliness." Such a thing is definitely counter-culture! The secular humanist's "god" is tolerance, moral relativism, sexual immorality, and the "anything goes" type of attitude. No one is supposed to make any judgments. THAT IS THE MYTH! It is one of Satan's best schemes...tolerate evil and sin to our detriment - to our physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual death.

2Pe 3:11 [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness,

If the following verse does not say "judgment" all over it, then you are not reading it correctly!

2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

That's right. Believe the enemy of our souls and don't even worry about it all! /sarcasm

The following is a promise of our reward for being faithful.

2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Just Whom is the One that we may be found of him in peace? Who is without spot? Who is blameless? Jesus Christ!

2Pe 3:14 ¶ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Think about what Jesus endured on the cross for you and your sins! The gospels and epistle writings are in the Bible to teach you "according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you."

2Pe 3:15 And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

We may not understand everything. No one does. But the Bible provides everything that we need to know about Jesus and salvation! Those who do not study the Bible and apply it to their lives are FOOLISH! They will end up "unto their own destruction."

2Pe 3:16 As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

The next verse is a warning to nominal Christians. Without stedfast faith in Jesus Christ - being born again as Jesus tells us in John 3:3, one can fall for "the error of the wicked."

2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

We are to have "the mind of Christ." How do we do that? First, by being born again. Second, by studying and applying Scripture and growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ!

2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Understanding Bible Prophecy Fulfillment (Part 1)

In a previous comment thread, Mike Rucker asked me to provide a "prophecy that has been fulfilled in 2008." Now, I'm not quite sure if he was just joking around with me or if he seriously wanted a conversation about biblical prophecy.

Nonetheless, I did a lot of work locating links so that I could answer some of his questions. Since my time on the blog is limited this morning, I thought that I would use the comment as my blog post for today.

Biblical prophecy is a HUGE topic for discussion. It cannot be covered in just one blog post. Therefore, I have labeled this response as "Part 1."

Here's my post:

1. Your lottery comedy routine makes me wonder whether or not you are genuinely serious about this topic.

2. I think that you misunderstand my position. Let me see if I can help alleviate your misunderstanding about prophecy fulfillment.

Bible prophecy is continually being fulfilled. Demanding that I show you a specific prophecy being fulfilled "in 2008," as you have asked, is not necessarily an accurate portrayal of how prophecy fulfillment is being revealed.

For instance. Today, the ancient prophecy of David, regarding the fact that Israel would be (and currently is) surrounded by many enemies is an exact prophecy fulfillment. If you read the Scripture at that link, you will see that David names the exact enemies (ancient names and current names listed in that post) that have surrounded Israel and have called for her complete destruction (e.g. Iran leaders want Israel pushed "into the sea.")

Because of biblical ignorance, we see the current U.S. administration attempting to make peace deals between the Palestinians and Israel. They may have the best intentions in mind, but the fact that the so-called "Road map to Peace" requires Israel to give up portions of land (that the Lord gave to her via nations that allowed the formation of the Jewish State after the Holocaust) is a HUGE mistake...IMHO.

I don't want to get too far off topic.

On May 14, 1948 (when the exact date was prophesied for Israel's re-formation as a Jewish State in the Bible) until now, we are witnessing prophecy fulfillment almost every day in that region of the world.

Here is a link that describes, in detail, how amazing it was for that prophecy to be fulfilled.

Other prophecy fulfillment can be seen through the increase of hurricanes, tsunamis, tornadoes, floods, fires, etc. being suffered around the world.

There is also the fact that Jesus himself stated that the signs of the times would be as "in the Days of Noah" (known for it's skepticism and godless paganism, violence, mocking of the faithful etc.) and as in the "Days of Lot" (known for it's sexual immorality and destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah).

If you have been following my posts at this blog about the Falling Away of false convert Christians, as it is revealed through the Bible, then you know that such re probation, heresy, and apostasy is growing exponentially today. The book of Jude warns of this exact thing!

There has been discussion that some view Barack Obama as THE Antichrist. Poor Glen Beck. Just asking the question has placed a barrage of insults and condemnation upon him! I was watching a re-broadcast of his T.V. show last night, and it was mentioned that there were 450,000 google hits about his interview with John Hagee. Today, there are 878,000! Good news travels fast...eh? Just checked again! Now it's over 928,000!

There has always been speculation regarding who the Antichrist will be. There are people who exhibit a spirit of Antichrist, but this does not necessary mean that they are, or could become THE Antichrist described in Revelation.

The hatred for Israel by Her many enemy nations is not only a central, continuing theme in Bible prophecy, it is one of the greatest signs of the approaching end times. Those who don't see or notice this would be wise to study it and notice how accurate the Bible has been throughout the centuries in this matter as well as many others! It is so crystal clear that to miss it would truly be tragic for non-believers and their destiny in eternity.

Pray For Peace of Jerusalem

This morning, it was my intention to write about the horrendous murdering of students studying at a Jewish religious school in Jerusalem by a radical Islamic terrorist.

While I was driving home yesterday, I listened to a first hand account by World Net Daily journalist, Aaron Klein (who is in Jerusalem) via the Michael Savage radio show, about how awful this attack on the students really was.

Aaron described that in the aftermath, once the bodies of the dead and wounded were carried out, there were prayer books strewn about, covered with blood.

Now, contrast that with the despicable display of Palestinians "celebrating" this attack.

It's enough to make anyone vomit!!

If these two, polar opposite descriptions and reactions don't make you shake your head in disbelief, anger, sorrow and sadness, then nothing will.

I wanted to write more. But I think that I will just share a few links and an email that I received from Joel Rosenberg today.

We must pray, unceasingly, for the Holy City of Jerusalem and the State of Israel - especially in these dangerous times when Israel is surrounded by enemies.

We are calling on pastors, evangelical leaders and churches around the world to mobilize your email and phone prayer chains to pray for the people of Jerusalem and Israel at this critical time. Please also pray for the largely forgotten Israeli citizens who live in Sderot, Ashkelon and other towns along the border with Gaza who are being hit with a seeming never-ending barrage of rockets, missiles and mortars. Please consider having a special time of prayer during your weekend church services for the peace of Jerusalem and for peace along the Gaza border. Please also pray that God would miraculously change the hearts of the Palestinians who are responsibile such evil attacks. And pray that the Lord would have mercy on the vast majority of Palestinians who hate such attacks and feel trapped by the actions of the Radical Islamic jihadists around them.

A few other specific prayer requests you might consider:

* Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as we are commanded in Psalm 122:6.

* Please pray that the Lord would comfort those wounded in the attack, and the families of those killed, and that the Lord would show His people how to comfort all those who are suffering so greatly. "'Comfort, O comfort My people,' says your God. 'Speak kindly to Jerusalem; and call out to her, that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity has been removed, that she has received of the LORD'S hand, double for all her sins.'" (Isaiah 40:1-2)

* Please pray for wisdom for the leaders of Israel to know how best to respond to this attack. May they be like "men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do." (I Chronicles 12:32)

* Please pray for wisdom and discernment for the Christians in Jerusalem and throughout Israel to know how best to comfort their neighbors and be a force for prayer and peace. "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." (Romans 12:15)

* Please pray for the upcoming Joshua Fund tour in Israel and Epicenter conference in Jerusalem. As I noted above, we believe it is more important than ever to bless Israel and stand with her. We trust that the Israeli authorities are going to keep the city and country safe. And we intend to be on our knees, beseeching the God of Israel to be our hope, our protection, and our shield. Now is not the time to abandon Israel. Now is the time to stand with her in prayer, and in person. "For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not keep quiet....You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves, and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." * Finally, please pray that the Lord would show you and your congregation how to bless Israel in tangible and practical ways in the days and weeks ahead. "For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me." (Matthew 25:35-36)
