The Ramsey Case

It appears that the killer of Jon Benet Ramsey has been found. The news reports claim that he had confessed to "accidentally" killing the girl. Is that going to give him positive points in the eyes of the jury?

The suspect is a "school teacher" who raped a 6 year old girl!! That's awful enough!! Since she was old enough to talk, he would have been identified by her. What makes us think he's telling the truth about "accidentally" killing her? If his DNA matches the DNA found in the little girl's underwear, then we will have positive proof that this man is guilty of the crime.

Speculation abounds, however. One report that I heard is that he is guilty of another crime in Thailand and just confessed to the Ramsey case so he could get 3 decent square meals a day in a U.S. prison. I know. Quite a speculation.

Is it premature to release the parents from the "umbrella of suspicion" in the girl's death? They have been victims of the public's (especially the media's!) speculation of guilt that has been hanging over them for 10 years.

I'm sure that they went through absolute hell on earth because of it.

I can't blame Mr. Ramsey for not wanting to appear before the cameras of the media again after the despicable treatment he and his wife received from them over the last 10 years.

One has to wonder if all that psychological damage didn't hasten the death of Patsy Ramsey as she suffered from ovarian cancer.

God rest her soul.

I also wonder if Mr. Ramsey will ever get any apologies from the media giants. Don't hold your breath...

It is possible to accidently kill someone, you know. However, I'm generally inclined to look down on all media coverage of any criminal case whatsoever until the verdict has been reached. The media is, in my opinion, responsible for corrupting jurors. In the civilised world, we're supposed to have trial by jury, not trial by media, and the example of the Ramseys being suspected and harassed etc. etc. is a good case of this. In my view, you're guilty of nothing until a court has found you guilty.

Last I heard there were no links between piss poor media coverage and ovarian cancer. Which doesn't excuse the horrible job the media did covering this case. If only it were an isolated incident. When we learn to stop paying attention to sensationalized "news" sories, then we will get the news we desrve.

I still stick to the parents did it theory.

Hi cjm,

Welcome to my blog! Yes. I agree that it is possible to accidently kill someone, but I really doubt it in the Jon Benet case.

It is generally better to withhold judgment until a trial is complete. But even then, sometimes justice isn't served (especially when it involves celebrities such as the OJ, Robert Blake and Michael Jackson cases, to name a few). After viewing/hearing all the evidence against them, I think they were clearly guilty of the crimes they were charged with.

Hey Limpy99,

I liked your typo of "sories" when you meant "stories." "Sensationalized news sories" are a sorry problem in our current news media world...that's for sure!

What's even worse, though, is the tendency for newspapers to resort to a trick of using old photos to falsely present a "massacre" in an Iraq war zone. This is nothing less than despicable! In fact, I thought it was treasonist!

Bob,

What has you so convinced that the parents did it? I think they are innocent.

It is looking more and more like this guy arrested in Thailand was just obsessed with the Ramsey case and since news is coming out that mentally he's "not all there," he has decided, for some crazy reason, to falsely confess to the murder.

I have to admit I'm not paying any attention to the Ramsey case, but more than one person who is has told me the confessor is just a nut. Too bad, they should kill him anyway for putting the father through this. Unless Bob's right.

Christine, tell me you're not buying the right-wing propaganda machine spin about false massacres. There's really no reasonable debate about them. I confess I don't know what you mean by "old photos", and I will admit that the press will screw up like that, but denying that the massacres occurred gets us nowhere.

Hi Limpy99,

Michele Malkin covered several incidences of faked photos at her blog. There can be no doubt that they were deliberately faked!!

Here is a google search of links to the posts.

Truly despicable!!

This one, in particular, was in an effort to smear our U.S. Marines!

Our Marines did not kill these people.

The terrorists did.

Increasing doubt about Karr's guilt in the Ramsey killing, but I just heard a brief blurb on Fox News Channel that he may be responsible for another killing of an 11 year old girl.

limpy99,
There have been entire news video coverages made of complete and utter staged acting being reported in the Main stream media in this war. Geesh, just recntly photographs have been exposed as staged over and over. Like little mickey mouse dolls strategically placed in rubble...."Damn those Lebanese Children Killing Jews!"

Remember the Father holding his "dead / wounded" son against a white brick wall in the streets after a battle with the Israeli’s fighting the Facsist Islamic Nuts( I mean the displaced peace loving Palestinians)...Fake! NBC did a @.14 second apology about it during prime time news after it was exposed as a set up. WOW! Thanks NBC! give me a break!

The general media has an agenda, and it is not about telling the truth. It's anti Israel and pro a "people" that does not exist. "Palestinians" have never been a "nation" and have never been led by anyone (ie Islamic Fascists) that does not call for the utter and complete destruction and death of the people of Israel. Including all those that support Israel..Humm God fearing folk included? Yep the United States and many European nations as well.

oh yeah...the Ramsey case.
I have no idea!

My gut feeling, the Family knows more... I am kinda with Bob, but it's a pure gut feeling which I normally at lest take notice of...

Innocent Pheh!

No I don't really know from what I understood the girl showed signs of abuse to those who were around her.

Ick!! Ugh!! I'm so ill!! The more that I hear about this Karr and his sexual pedophile proclivities, the more sick to my stomach I get!!

His involvement in child pornography (please don't call it "kiddie porn"...it makes it sounds way too innocent an endeavor...)
is coming out into the open now. His facination about the rape and death of Polly Klaas is sickening beyond belief!

I have always thought that the "free speech" ruling on internet pornography involving the images of children "if they are not real children" being OK according to the Six Sick Supreme Idiots er...members of the Court, was an atrocious mistake.

Time and time again we see how inexplicably harmful and disasterous child pornography is. It influences pedophile creeps to act out such despicable acts.

Where does "free speech" end and the realization that such crazy, relativistic thinking to allow "virtual child porn" on the internet leads our nation down the cesspool path to "the marketing of evil?"

When do we get to say that certain, evil things that leads to the disgustingly harmful sexual abuse and death of children should be banned forever and is more important to uphold than a free speech opinion??? Can someone please tell me that???

Christinewjc said...

I wonder...

Since the Six Sick Supreme Idiots terribly awful ruling of striking down the ban on "virtual" child porn images on the internet in 2002, have the incidences of child porn motivated rapes and deaths of children increased? From the news reports alone, I'd have to say yes!

Anyone have some statistics?

This Karr person just gets more and more bizarre!
