Evil Marketing Sleight of Hand.

In a past blogpost, I mentioned why I refuse to donate money to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I mentioned my shock, sorrow and dismay when I learned that this organization was guilty of forwarding funds though some affiliate organizations over to Planned Parenthood, one of America's largest abortion providers.

This morning, there was a segment on Fox and Friends about a man whose mother died of breast cancer. He set out to break the world record for consecutive days (or hours?) of bowling and met this challenge in order to raise money for two charitable organizations. On the surface, this sounds very admirable. However, one of the organizations that the money went to was the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

My heart sank, yet once again.

This organization is a donation gathering phenomenon. They are everywhere! I've seen their ads on T.V. (expensive to produce, I'm sure), in print ads, on billboards, in newspapers, on websites requesting donations, in hundreds of "Race for the Cure" marches, selling T-shirts with the same slogan; and the list could go on and on. Don't all of these ads cost a lot of money to broadcast and display? How much money is genuinely going to breast cancer research and not the foundation's board members, or even worse, abortion provider organizations?

When you read the above article link, you will see that in Iowa, a Komen "affiliate" gave $6,000 to the nation's largest abortion provider. How many abortions would just that one donation pay for? How many states have done the exact same thing (or, had given even more money) to terminate the lives of the unborn? How many babies have had their lives snuffed out with that money from a charitable organization that is supposed to save women's lives from breast cancer, not kill female (or male) babies in the womb??

Does this man (as honorable as his intentions were) even know about the connection between the Komen Foundation and the child killing machine known as Planned Parenthood?

I wonder.

I do not know his personal views on this subject, but donating to an organization that is supposed to save women's lives from breast cancer only to see some of the funds go to an organization that has helped kill over 45,000,000 babies in the womb just makes absolutely no moral sense!!

The name of "Planned Parenthood" is inaccurate as well. It's more like Planned Infanticide!

Right on Christine! Evil does not like to look like evil, it prefers to hide under that which is Good and Right, especially when it can use some worthy causes and catchy phrases that makes people feel intimidated if they question it. Nice discovery and thanks for bringing Light where there was darkness! Be prepared for some to say "Why are you against breast cancer funding! WHY?!

Hi Christine -

It's possible he doesn't know about the connection. I didn't until you brought it to light.

The use of donations for breast cancer research for other purposes might even be illegal. For me, it has the smell of reverse money laundering - taking clean money and using it for an ugly reason.
When other charities raise money for a specific project, they have to use it for that project unless they inform you anything over and above a certain amount will be applied elsewhere.

Another truly tragic example of funds (millions!!) often diverted to organizations that support (and perform) the horror of abortion!

Buffett and Gates Charities Big Boon for Abortions

Buffett "gift" means millions for abortion!

Some quotes from article:

The Gates Foundation has given the Planned Parenthood Federation of America almost $12.5 million since 1998, including funds to persuade teens to support abortion and to lobby the United Nations to advance pro-abortion proposals, reported LifeNews.com

The foundation also has given nearly $21 million to International Planned Parenthood over the last seven years, where funds have been used to promote abortions in third-world nations and to set up pro-abortion family planning centers in South America, Africa and Eastern Europe.

"It's tragic that much of Warren Buffett's billion-dollar attempt to improve the lives of people around the world is actually going to fund organizations that take the lives of unborn children and encourage others to do the same," said Dannenfelser.

Buffett, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, will give the Gates Foundation more than 12 million shares of his company's stock, according to the Associated Press. At just over $3,000 per share, it would add $37 billion to the Gates Foundation's $29 billion, making it the world's largest charity.

Bill and Melinda Gates also have spent millions promoting abortion in their home state, having given nearly $2 million to Planned Parenthood of Central Washington and Planned Parenthood of Western Washington to fund abortion centers.

The Gates Foundation also gave the Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada more than $1.3 million.

Absolutely tragic!!

Truly sad!!
