Prayers needed

Prayer urged for 21 Christian aid workers held hostage.

Christinewjc said...: Father God, I lift up each and every one of your servants who are being held hostage by the Taliban in Afghanistan. May they gain strength from You, and peace from You; a peace that surpasses all understanding, no matter what kind of circumstances they are currently in.

I pray that those who are critically ill would be healed and those who are sick to recover. I pray that the hearts of the people who are holding them hostage would be turned away from their evil ways, and as a result, would be turned towards compassion for the hostages and set them free.

I also pray for the families and loved ones of those two brave servants of Christ who lost their physical lives while serving in the name of Jesus Christ.

May the faith of the surviving loved ones grow strong and may their hearts be comforted knowing Your promises of eternal life in heaven.

I pray all of this through your precious Son's name, Jesus Christ. Amen.; August 4, 2007 at 7:25:00 PM PDT

The Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience

Christians, when they have lived up to the highest ideals of their faith, have defended the weak and vulnerable and worked tirelessly to protect and strengthen vital institutions of civil society, beginning with the family.

We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:

1. the sanctity of human life
2. the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
3. the rights of conscience and religious liberty.

Inasmuch as these truths are foundational to human dignity and the well-being of society, they are inviolable and non-negotiable. Because they are increasingly under assault from powerful forces in our culture, we are compelled today to speak out forcefully in their defense, and to commit ourselves to honoring them fully no matter what pressures are brought upon us and our institutions to abandon or compromise them. We make this commitment not as partisans of any political group but as followers of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

THE RELEVANT OBAMA ADMISSION

At Barack Obama’s web site, the following admission:

As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children…’ “

Read that last line again.

“That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children…”

That’s an admission that Great Britain “governed the status” of Barack Obama, Jr. He has chosen to highlight this on his own volition.

And this leads to the relevant question:

HOW CAN A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN’S STATUS BE “GOVERNED” BY GREAT BRITAIN?

A natural born citizen’s status should only be governed by the United States.
