The words of Daniel finally unsealed - By Hal Lindsey

Encrypted prophetic messages are being unlocked exponentially. All of these things point to the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming very soon, whether you are ready or not. Don't put off your decision any longer. Time is rapidly running out for you to get ready to meet Him when He comes. The wicked will never understand. Will you?

Lindsey writes:

How could a man of the first century A.D. who has never seen a machine describe the technical marvels of the 21st century? John was told to write about what he saw. I think he did an inspired job.

Today, Daniel and Revelation are among the most discussed and debated books within the whole canon of Scripture. More expositions have been written in the past 10 years focusing on Daniel and Revelation than probably any other books in the Bible. It's as if the words of these books were sealed up until the time appointed.

Even 60 years ago, most of what Daniel predicted here didn't make sense. These things certainly did not make sense to the generations prior to the 20th century. Daniel, directly taught by Heaven's highest angel, Michael, said as much. Daniel asked the archangel, "As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, 'My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?'"
Note very carefully the archangel Michael's reply, "Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand."

This was the second time Michael told Daniel that the words were to be sealed until the time of the last days generation to whom they were addressed. The archangel concludes with special instructions to Daniel: "But as for you, Daniel, conceal – or encrypt – these words and seal up the book until the time of the end; many will go [travel] back and forth, and knowledge will increase."

Knowledge has greatly increased. And as we've seen will increase even more. Also, just as predicted in this verse, the limitations of time and space to travel have been exponentially decreased.

This has unlocked the encrypted prophetic messages that were intended for this generation. Current events have unlocked them further. All of these things point to the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming very soon.

Don't put off your decision any longer. Time is rapidly running out for you to get ready to meet Him when He comes. Just recognize you are a sinner, and accept the gift of pardon He purchased for you in His own blood. He is coming, and soon.

Whether you are ready or not.

Hi Christine:

This is a very refreshing post for a very hot Friday in South Carolina.

Shabbat Shalom, my dear friend and much love to my "little" sister on the West Coast. (ss)

Hi Susan!

I'm glad that you found the post refreshing! Hope it cools off soon in South Carolina. Not used to that heat? Can't blame you!

We've had some unusually hot and humid weather in CA. Usually, we experience a very dry, desert heat here. Reminded me of summers in NJ!

God bless you!

A commenter named "Caponumen" stated concern about Lindsey predicting "the date or the time" of Christ's return over at the Digg site. Here is my response:

I can appreciate your concern about anyone claiming to know the "date or time" of Christ's return. But I didn't see anything in this article that did that.

Lindsey was demonstrating that the signs of the end times are now here. The ability for people to rapidly gain knowledge and instantly spread the gospel throughout the world (not only by missionary journeys, but also via computer email, message boards, blogs, articles etc.)wasn't even possible until near the end of the 20th century. Plus, with wireless connection and the introduction of the new iPhone, people can access the internet while walking down the street!

Additionally, the ability to rapidly travel "to and fro" wasn't possible when those words were written by Daniel. Therefore, such signs were hidden (or sealed) for such a time as this.

These details may appear small to some, but they are huge when you consider the primitive society during the time they were written. Such revelation could not have even been conceived by mankind back then. It is just more proof that the Bible is, indeed, a Divine book that was written by men through God's inspiration as these men were carried along by the Holy Spirit

Mr. Hal Lindsey wrote in his recent essay, "The world into which people were born in the year 2000 is already disappearing. It will not exist by 2012." This appears to me that he is hinting Jesus would return in 2012. Well, he hinted in his 1970 book The Late Great Planet Earth that Jesus would come in 1988. I'm not falling again for this.

Mr. Lindsey predicted that the Soviet Union and the Arab-African Union would invade Israel. Yet the Soviet Union has since collapsed and Russia can't even contain one of its own most rebellious former states, Chechya. The Russian Army isn't as powerful as it used to be. Furthermore, Arabs and Africans are very far from uniting as one can see the present situation in Africa and the Middle East.

Mr. Lindsey also predicted a ten-states Revised Roman Empire would arise in Europe. Yet the EU's membership exceeds to 27.

What do you make of this? What does the Bible say about a prophet whose predictions do not come true?

Hi Aaron,

Welcome to Talkwisdom! I can appreciate your concern. However, if we take the proper context of Lindsey's sentence by reading the previous paragraph and additional sentences, I would say that he isn't hinting about Jesus' return in that year.

Here's a larger portion of the article:

Alvin Toffler saw this phenomenon developing. This was the basis of his 1970 best-seller "Future Shock." Toffler defines future shock as "the shattering stress and disorientation that we induce in individuals by subjecting them to too much change in too short a time." Toffler predicted, "Millions of ordinary, psychologically normal people will face an abrupt collision with the future."

We live in much greater stress and anxiety because of the "exponential rate of change" that is accelerating in our world. The world into which I was born ceased to exist a long time ago. But the change was gradual enough to allow me time to adjust. The world into which people were born in the year 2000 is already disappearing. It will not exist by 2012.

What I think he meant is that the world (more specifically, cultural condition) probably won't be anything like the year 2000, (meaning, the culture at that time) in 2012. Things are changing so rapidly now, even the technology advances that we knew back in 2000 are now considered obsolete compared to what we have today (the iPhone is just one example).

There are predictions and there are opinions. I happen to know of several Biblical pastors/scholars who think that Russia (which was formerly known as the Soviet Union) has been supplying weapons to Iran. It isn't a stretch to think that some day, those two countries (and their leaders) may come to the decision to gang up on Israel and attack her.

In addition, there are reports that the friendship between Russia and the U.S. is waning. Is another Cold War on the horizon? Only time will tell.

The revised Roman Empire may contain 27 states, but doesn't the book of Revelation reveal "10 horns" becoming as "one" and coming up against Israel in the last days? Perhaps not all of the revised Roman Empire takes part in this conflict?

John Hagee's book Jerusalem Countdown" presupposes that those conspiring to destroy Israel in the last days are probably be Iran, Russia and several other Arab states.

Grant Jeffrey discusses the fact that Psalm 83:2-8 prophetically predicts that the ancient names recorded in those verses match up with the current nations have already joined in with the plot to destroy Israel in the last days in his book The Signature of God

Christinewjc,

Thank you for your kind reply. However, with due respect, there is a problem with the interpretation of Rev. 13:1 as Europe being supposedly the ten-horns Revised Roman Empire. Let's read Rev. 6 through 12 again. The author of the Book of Revelation places the following events BEFORE (not after!) the appearance of the ten-horns, seven-heads beast:

1) Seven seals as foretold in Rev. 6 would be broken and all terrible things would befall mankind - great earthquake, the sun turning black, the moon turning red as blood, stars falling from heaven

2)hail and fire mingled with blood, 1/3 of trees burnt up, and all green grass burnt up.

3)great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea - 1/3 of the sea became blood

3) 1/3 of mankind is killed

4) 1/3 of marine life is killed, 1/3 of ships around the world are destroyed

5) descent of the star Wormwood on earth

6) two witnesses (believed by most evangelical Christians to be Elijah and Moses) appear at the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem

7)a flood that the dragon cast out of his mouth to "carry away" the woman (Israel)

And now we come to Rev. 13:1:"THEN I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns,[b] and on his horns ten crowns..."(NKJV - emphasis mine)

Did any of this happen before the EU was formed?
