A Lesson In Irony

Two separate articles, one at WorldNetDaily and the other at The Daily Mail show us the double standard of deference given towards those of the Muslim faith; while, in contrast, raging hatred and intolerance is continually and unabashedly unleashed towards Christians. After reading these two articles, one cannot help but notice the absolute hypocrisy that exists in our world today.

The rabid hate and lack of ANY tolerance that homosexual activists in the U.S. have towards conservative Christians, contrasted by the dignified and respectful tolerance that homosexual activists (and/or their sympathizers/supporters)in the U.K. give towards Muslim parents who hold objections to homosexual indoctrination of their children in public schools is truly a lesson in irony...

Excerpt from "Muslim's fury" article:

He added: "In Islam homosexual relationships are not acceptable, as they are not in Christianity and many other religions but the main issue is that they didn't bother to consult with parents.

"This was completely one-sided.

"Homosexuality is not a priority to parents but academic achievement is. This just makes parents think 'What the heck is my child being taught at school?'."

Yep...my thoughts exactly!

So you're saying that tax-paying gay and lesbian Americans should "tolerate" it when their political representatives not only defame their lives and families but also work to enact restrictions on their ability to form private contracts and share employee benefits? I thought we lived in a secular democracy. I guess I was wrong.

Anonymous,

That is not what the post was about.

I have a suggestion for you.

Please re-read each article and the post. Then, perhaps, you may be better equipped to ask a question/make a statement that deals with the issues at hand.

That's true. Your post is about how citizens should "tolerate" being defamed by their elected representatives. To do otherwise is "anti-Christian", right? Talk about irony. ;)

translation of homomiltant speak:
"private contracts" = Marriage license.

"share employee benefits" = inter office dating.

I thought we lived in a secular democracy.

translation: I wished we lived in Godless democracy.

anonymous, Republic may be more appropriate than democracy.

"anonymous, Republic may be more appropriate than democracy."

translation of fascist speak:

I might call myself a conservative but I believe government should legislate morality by enforcing Christian norms onto the populace. Those that refuse conversion should accept second class citizen rights.

Anonymous,

You obviously do not want to address the true meaning, subject, and purpose of the post.

Coming to a blog as a troll and calling the regular commenters "fascist speakers" just shows your ignorance and refusal to recognize the true nature and point of the topic.

Christine,
You are correct, this is indeed ironic, however, should we really be surprised? Jesus warned us that we would be hated, because they hated him first. This isn't really against us, it's against Him. The reason that Christianity is the focus of so much hatred is simply because it is the Truth, even if people don't acknoledge this, or even realize, as I'm sure most of them don't, that this is the reason for their feelings, the direction they recieve from forces that they very well may not even know are influencing them (ie demonic influence) certainly point them toward hating us. Islam, or any other religion is tolerated, on the other hand, for the simple reason that it is not the Truth, and so followers of such are already on the wrong side, and any that they can suck into their ranks will be similarly doomed.

Of course, you already knew all of that, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

God Bless,
Matt W.

Well said, Matt, very well stated!

You are correct. We should not be surprised. We all know what, and whom, generally influences those who are in error regarding God's revelation of Truth.

From just the secular humanistic viewpoint, however, it's doubly ironic (to me) that they would embrace sensitivity towards Islamic beliefs at all!

Both do, indeed, share the same blindness to the absolute truth as revealed through the Person of Jesus Christ and God's Word. You are exactly right about that!

Wow! I leave a very polite post and get called a "militant homo", "ignorant", and a "troll". Good thing this posted is titled Irony. ;)

Christinewjc said...

I will leave the "militant homospeak" for Mark to explain.

This is the third time that I am asking you to read the articles and my post. Sometimes the "third time is a charm." Then, perhaps, you will see that your comments here do not match up with the true meaning, subject and purpose of the post.

Let's look at some definitions of "ignorant."
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source - Share This
ig·no·rant Audio Help /ˈɪgnərənt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ig-ner-uhnt] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective 1. lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man.
2. lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics.
3. uninformed; unaware.
4. due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement.

I would say that #3 is the fitting definition here. You have continually showed how uninformed and unaware you are about the topic at hand.

Next definition: internet troll.

I think that such descriptions of you fit the bill quite well.

Homomilitant speak translation:

I might call myself gay, but I believe government should indeed legislate my personal morals and sexual acts so they too can be the "norm". Those that refuse this conversion should be labeled as second class citizens as well as bigots, hate mongers and homophobeic.

News flash: There has never been in all human history a Govt that has not legislated "morality", to think otherwise is pure foolishness or just wishful thinking.

Mark,

Yes, I agree completely. If you treat others with violence and attempt to suppress their constitutionally protected civil liberties then you should be labeled a hate monger and bigot. We live not in a Republic, but a constitutional Republic that protects minority rights against the tyranny of majority rule.

Perhaps I can suggest a high school American Government textbook for you. ;)

Mark said...

We live in a Representative Republic, I have an old Political Science Degree around here somewhere. Lots of countries have Constitutions - makes them no more a "democracy" than China.

I must have missed that CNN story of me and other disciples of Christ using violence to supress your rights.

Lastly, your comment says nothing about any Govt that has not legislated "morality" - so I will accept that you also "completely" agree and are grateful you too live in the United States?
