Need a Laugh? Or cry...

Well, the following article will provoke some kind of reaction from you! The dirt is in the details, however. In reality, it is a very sad state of affairs. Despite that fact, I just couldn't help laughing when I read More Proof the Inmates are Running the Asylum

In the inmates-are-running-the-asylum department, too many cases are popping up to ignore them.

Read the article for the details, and then vote for your favorite idiotic "mind of the day" amongst the lunatic fringe of society:

1. At the state capitol in Olympia, Washington, Gov. Christine Gregoire (a Democrat, of course), has approved the placement of an atheist sign for public display next to a nativity scene.

2. In an unrelated Christmas story from the Netherlands, a gay group in Amsterdam has organized a "Pink Christmas" festival featuring a nativity scene with two Josephs and two Marys.

3. In Bloomington, Indiana, an undercover pro-life college student told a Planned Parenthood "nurse" that she was 13 and had been impregnated by a 31-year-old man. The nurse told the girl not to disclose her age or the age of the man. She then encouraged the girl to lie and say that the "boy" in question was 14. Apparently, local police, although they have been notified of the statutory rape implications in this case, have chosen to do nothing to investigate Planned Parenthood. They did, however, post extra security around the clinic in case of a "pro-life backlash."

4. In Great Britain (which is no longer so great), Muslims have so cowed the government that public schools have stopped teaching about the Holocaust. It seems that a significant percentage of the Islamic population in the U.K. (which is growing by frightening quantities) believes the same fairy tale espoused by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- namely that the holocaust never happened.

Apparently, in Britain we got a two-fer. Here's another example of political correctness gone crazy:

5. Also in England, the popularity of chaste pop idols like the Jonas Brothers has not been exalted. In fact, girls caught wearing "purity rings," signifying that they wanted to remain virgins until marriage, were forced to remove them. Apparently, the authorities didn't want the slutty girls to feel ostracized.

Now, we return back to the U.S. of gay, gay, gay...

6. In Congress, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), after having violated about half of the federal tax laws, is staying on as chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee. Meanwhile, Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank, the king and queen of congressional oversight of the banking industry, are still in charge of running their respective asylums. Frank, whose boyfriend ran a prostitution ring out of the congressman's townhouse back in 1990, and who more recently was involved in a homosexual affair with an official of Fannie Mae, one of the bankrupt quasi-governmental entities Frank oversees as head of the House Financial Services Committee, sees no conflict between his public and personal life. Pay no attention to that little gay man behind the curtain.

Last, but not least, we have the automaker CEOs returning to Congress (in their "green" vehicles instead of using their corporate jets) bowing in front of Queen Nancy Pelosi...

7. The great irony here is that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has a jet available to her at all times as well. Not to worry, though, because the auto makers have been so cowed that they drove to DC in their own "green" vehicles the next time they came calling with their hands out.

The punch line is the best!

It's like "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" meets "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." Except that Mr. Smith is in a straight jacket in a rubber room while the loons run the asylum.

Yep...

If author Doug Patton knew at the time that the Governor of Illinois would be caught (allegedly) trying to sell Obama's Senate seat - I'm sure he would have included that in his insanity list!

Illinois? Chicago? Corruption? Is ANYONE at all surprised by this??

But there is more! Go read the article.

Excerpt:

"The breadth of corruption laid out in these charges is staggering," Fitzgerald said in a statement.

On second thought, these are not laughing matters. They are all truly sad and represent man's utmost depravity that has taken over our beloved nation - and the world.

Come back Lord Jesus...and rescue us from these and their utterly senseless derangement syndrome!

Yeah, because she’s the Governor of all Washingtonians, not just the Christian ones.
Anyway, some “person or persons unknown” have already removed it; it was found in a nearby ditch. The nativity scene, of course, was untouched. Praise God!

Denial of the Holocaust isn’t confined to Britain; some people in both the US and Canada have been claiming this crap for years. Among them are Bradley Smith, Fred Leuchter, and the aptly-named Arthur Butz. There are others in Sweden, Italy, and France. Only the USA seems willing to support three such wingnuts.

The great irony here is that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has a jet available to her at all times as well. Not to worry, though, because the auto makers have been so cowed that they drove to DC in their own "green" vehicles the next time they came calling with their hands out.

Nancy Pelosi isn’t in the business of building cars, though; if the Big 3 automakers want $34 billion from Congress, they should at least have enough confidence in their products to drive one to D.C.! Or maybe they could “airpool” and take one jet instead of three…or even fly coach (wouldn’t that be something)!
But the rich don’t think like you and me because they don’t live like you and me (well, not me, anyway).

These are interesting times.

I've had to cut back on my news consumption Christine... all the stupidity gets to me. I've had to start taking it in small, measured doses... of course, that's not usually a problem, since they repeat the same thing 800 times per day, you only have to watch for a couple of minutes and you're all caught up.

The difference between the Atheist sign and the religious symbols in Washington State is that the Symbols are just that, symbols of belief, while the sign attacks religion. To keep things fair and in kind the Atheists should only be allowed to put up a symbol of what they believe... oh wait... I guess that would have to be blank when you don't believe in anything... how very sad...

"Yeah, because she’s the Governor of all Washingtonians, "

Except that the nativity contains no message insulting anyone, whereas the atheist posted a sign deliberately insulting to the beliefs of over a billion people. Having said that, I would certainly get behind full prosecution for anyone who stole the sign or tried to unlawfully block any group's right to free speech. This issue has to be fought out in the arena of public debate and ideas, and not with lawlessness.

"Nancy Pelosi isn’t in the business of building cars, though;"

Very true. Also true: Corporate CEO's are not charged with oversight of public funds and protection of the public trust. Congress is. To see congress paying such attention to money that will come out of the public coffers is admirable. To see the waste that they support in the name of personal prestige and support of constituent groups, such as the UAW and NEA, against the good of the public most certainly is not.

I guess you missed my previous post about the atheist sign mocking all religions - and the fact that the person placing it right next to the Nativity scene did it for precisely that reason.

A person who places a Menorrah on display is citing celebration of the Jewish holiday - it is not mocking the Christian faith. But the atheist sign does. Gary answered all of this already, anyway.

As far as the Muslim invasion in Britain goes - there are some very serious issues going on over there. Just do a search for "Lionheart blog" in the U.K. He is a Christian who has been forced to run for his life from both the Muslims that want to kill him and the British authorities that want to silence him - for telling the truth about them.

I don't think that taxpayers should bail out ANYONE - especially the car companies.

I prefer the Republican Congressman's idea (name escapes me at the moment) who suggested a tax holiday for all Americans for two months!

Hi Matt -

I hear ya! There is such a thing as blog news fatigue!

It seems so obvious that atheists who are vocal about their non-belief, do so for only one purpose - to mock believers.

Funny how they work so hard at mocking "God and religion" - when they are supposed to not believe in God!

Hi Gary -

Isn't it strange that the image of a Baby lying in a manger scene bothers these atheists? Must have something to do with their consciences...

GMpilot said...

No, Christine, I did not miss you r previous post. I tried to answer it yesterday, but apparently it either didn't get through or was rejected; I've sent it again.

Who said anything about a "Muslim invasion"? You were ranting about how some people claim that the Holocaust never happened! I certainly didn't deny that; I simply said that there are quite a few other nuts who say the same thing--and the three biggest ones are home-grown.

Menorahs don't disturb me any more that a Nativity does. However, you know that the Jews believe that their Messiah has not yet come. You believe otherwise. But since Jesus was definitely Jewish, and since it's no longer fashionable for Christians to persecute them anymore, it's okay for their religious symbol to share the same space with your religious symbol.
Don't go all wingnut on me ag--oops, too late.

Mr. Baker seems to believe all the stereotypes he's ever heard about atheists. I could succumb to all the equally bad stereotypes I've ever heard about Christians, but that would make me as bad as him.

A tax holiday for all Americans for two months is a splendid idea.
Of course, that means citizens will have to repair their own city infrastructures, police their own cities, put out their own fires, and fight Al-Queda on their own, since that's at least where some of our tax money goes.
It also means I won't be drawing my pension...and since I need my pension, that would be a bit upsetting.
I'd certainly support a lighter tax burden, though. What should we stop funding for 60 days?

Christine,
It occurred to me that Christine Gregoire (not yourself) should change her name by deed poll if she feels that strongly against Christianity. "Christ-ine" is out of place for a misotheist! Really, if she stoops to the level of violating a nativity scene, she should reconsider her own name. Both are on the same level of unhinged stupidity.

Christine,
With the exposure of corruption regarding Gov. Blagojevich, the extent of that corruption which has shocked investigators, and the way that Obama and his crew have lied to their back teeth about Obama's connection with the governor I think you should forget the birth certificate issue and pray that this corruption issue will bring him to book, and prove his ineligibility for office. This is far more explosive that the other matter.

I think you might be right! This scandal has only just begun and Obama will most likely be found to be right in the middle of it all!

I just shared the following comment on another blog:

I am wondering whether or not this Blagojevich scandal and arrest could be the start of a much larger sting operation? What are you thoughts on this?

The blogs are exploding with connection information about Obama, Blago, Rezko, etc.

I was surprised that Blago's bail was so low. Could it be for the purpose of tracking his additional movements to see how far down the rabbit hole (and who is involved) goes?

I also heard that possible senate seat candidate #5 is Jesse Jackson Jr.!

One commenter (you - Murray!)at my blog is suggesting that this may ultimately be the downfall of Obama's bid for the presidency - more damaging than the "natural born citizen" cases. Perhaps he is right!

I just can't imagine that Obama could get through this latest scandal unscathed.

Back when I originally wanted to write to you (Sean of The Nein blog) via email in order to share some speculation (on my part) about a possible "sting" scenario involving Obama, I was wondering if Obama could have been on the "good guy" side of the law, helping to catch the perpetrators. When Obama was meeting with Bush for Intelligence briefings, I was extremely worried that he could have gotten information that could have hurt our nation. However, I have noticed that Obama isn't meeting with Bush anymore.

Since Obama was so surprised by Blago's arrest, I now presume that he just might end up being one of the "big fish" destined to be caught in this latest Chicago incident of corruption.

The MSM is trying so hard to claim that Obama "didn't know" about this scandal and that "it has nothing to do with the president-elect. Sorry...that's BULLCRAP!

GateWay Pundit has quite the scoop about this scandal!

I think that I am going to create a new blog post (Blogment!) using these comments here!

I have embraced no stereotypes about atheists. Writing as a liberal, however, you continue in the above statement to show that they are judgmental ("as bad as him") and express insulting opinions with little to no regard for evidence. Or perhaps you can prove me wrong here: I have commented a great deal on this blog. How about going and producing some comments I have produced about atheists that were not supported by comments you or other prominent atheists have made? Go man! This is your chance to give evidence that I am the scum you say I am!

Otherwise, simply retire as the common and cowardly liberal mouthpiece that so many others are.

My feelings exactly. The examples given in the post are both shameful and shameless. It's very disheartening to watch the slow dismantling of Western Civilization by people with neither a better alternative nor better history.

I am an Atheist and I am very grateful for the world that Judeo-Christian believers have created. I would hate to see all that work be brought low for no better reason than that given by folks who just don't like the Christian diety.

Christinewjc said...

Indigo Red -

All I can say is thanks. It is indeed rare for a person who labels him/herself an atheist to appreciate anything about God or the kind of nation that should be attributed to the input and work via Judeo-Christian values, ethics, and beliefs.

The dismantling has been getting worse every year. All we Christians can do is pray, watch, work, and share the Gospel with non-believers until Jesus returns.

A note to our good friend GM: He seemed concerned that atheists were being targeted for abuse since the atheist sign in Washington had been attacked while the nativity scene had not. People have gone out of their way to make up for things by committing arson in Sarah Palin's church, one of many acts against churches every year. I also read a story on line that people have taken to putting GPS trackers in religious displays this season to protect against theft.

As is often the case, the person implying persecution overlooks the fact that others are experiencing it on a much worse level.
