An Open Letter to Senator Ted Cruz

Introduction:

I continue to applaud U.S. Senator Ted Cruz from Texas and his efforts to encourage the defunding of Obamacare.  Despite the fact that he faces criticism from so many, including the RINOS in the Senate, he keeps drawing much needed attention to the disaster that is looming over America next Tuesday.

Critics try to analyze why he is doing this.  Some say it's only because he wants to run for president in 2016.  Others say that as a TEA Party conservative, Cruz is attempting to undermine the establishment Republicans in the Senate for political purposes.  Of course, the majority of the media of mass deception (even some Fox News pundits - which is disappointing!) attempts to paint him as "crazy," a "rabble-rouser," an "extremist," (note: the usual word that liberals use for Islamic terrorists!) and even an "anarchist" (as Harry ReiDUNCE has recently stated in his usual verbal diarrhea on the Senate floor).

I'm with Sarah Palin when she stated that Cruz is most interested in keeping the promises he made to his constituents when he ran for that Senate seat! She also had a lot to say against the RINOS in the Senate - which includes her former running mate in 2008- John McCain. McCain has been such a disappointment on many fronts lately. Like John Boehner, I think that McCain was most likely briefed with classified information regarding the arms deals of the Obama BADministration to both Libya and Syria. Therefore, he's not really interested in the formation of a select committee to get to the bottom of what really happened in Benghazi. I haven't heard McCain talk about Benghazi lately. He was probably all for the investigation until he found out that he (along with other members of Congress) could also be deemed complicit in the deaths of four Americans due to his own knowledge about the weapons deals.

Back to the topic.

The way I see it is that even if the defunding of Obamacare doesn't get done, at least Cruz will have drawn much needed attention to the fact that it is a disastrous law that needs to be abolished! We shall see what happens this Friday as the vote is taken (with a possible filibuster by Cruz - and the reason why is explained HERE) and the subsequent activity as the bill is taken up by the Senate and then goes back to the House. I think that the House Republicans and the conservative Republican Senators in the Senate should stand their ground on this issue.

The train wreck that is ObamaScare Hellcare will be such a disaster that we may see a repeat (in 2014) of the election in 2010 where Republicans (hopefully, conservatives) will not only keep the House, but also take the Senate back!

Many people justifiably fear that once this Hellcare bill is implemented, it will be very difficult (if not impossible) to undo by the time a newly elected president is sworn in. That might be true, but I certainly hope not!

The other hope that we have is that the bill will be delayed for at least one year. Apparently, reports in the news tell us that the exchanges ready and aren't in place; so the states may have more time to refuse implementation that way. Admittedly, I do not know all the ins and outs of such a procedure, but hope rings eternal.

Another reason that I admire Senator Ted Cruz is that he is not afraid of failing. He has stuck to his guns in this very challenging effort. He made a pledge to his constituents in Texas to do all that he can to defund Obamacare. He is ignoring all of his critics (and there are legions of them!) from the left, the right, and especially the media of mass corruption. I'm sure that Senator Ted Cruz doesn't visit and read blogs. He's too busy doing all the hard work currently at hand. However, I'd like to provide some encouragement for him by sharing words of inspiration in an open letter which includes readings from the new Turning Points Devotional magazine of October, 2013.

Open Letter:

Dear Senator Cruz,

I can't thank you enough, from the bottom of my heart, for all that you are doing in your efforts to defund the disastrous law known as "The Affordable Care Act."  The title of the law is oxymoronic, because it is neither an affordable health care plan for the American people, nor is it a law that genuinely cares about us and the economic hardships that so many people are already enduring.  It is simply an "act" that is designed to take over 1/3 of our economy by the current tyrannical government officials in Washington D.C. who had the gall to exempt themselves from this terrible law!  I ask, how crazy and egregiously unfair is that?

Please continue your efforts to get this awful law defunded.  Do not listen to the pundits and naysayers who are all trying to gang up on you and discourage your urgent goal to keep your promise to your constituents in Texas by doing all that you can to defund this monstrous mistake which will ruin health care here in America.  There are millions of Americans, like myself, who are with you all the way on this issue!  We are so grateful that SOMEONE is not afraid to speak up for us; which is what many other Republicans in the Senate are, unfortunately, unwilling to do.

I continue to hope and pray that you will get some Democrats in the Senate on your side regarding this very important defunding issue.  It is crucial that Obamacare is defunded and eventually discarded for a more reasonable health care law.  This is a defining time in the history of our nation.

Meanwhile, I would like to share two devotional messages of encouragement with you.  I pray that even if you never get the chance to read the words, that the prayers of millions for you across this great nation will lift you up in your efforts; knowing that God has called you into action for such a time as this.  He has equipped you to act during America's time of trouble.

Turning Point Ministries Devotional for October 2, 2013:

The Lord...never fails.  Zephaniah 3:5

Look up the word "fail" in a thesaurus and you'll find terms like:  blunder, break down, fall, fizzle, flop, blunder, fold, lose out, and disappoint.  These are strongly negative words, and sometimes we're so afraid of them we don't move forward in the endeavors God has for us.  What would you do today that you aren't doing if you knew you could not fail?

When fear of failure keeps us from moving forward in faith, fear has won.

While we can't guarantee that all our projects and ambitions will end successfully (as we define "success"), we can be certain that God's plan for our lives will be fulfilled as we trust Him.  Zephaniah 3:5 says, "The LORD is righteous in her midst, He will do no unrighteousness.  Every morning He brings His justice to light; He never fails."

Don't worry about success or failure.  Concentrate on trusting God and obeying Him.  Move forward, knowing He never blunders, breaks down, fall, fizzles, flops, flounders, folds, loses out, or disappoints.

He never fails.

Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; as Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
- Thomas O, Chisholm, in the hymn "Great Is Thy Faithfulness."

Turning Point Ministries Devotional for October 1, 2013:

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.  In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear.  What can flesh do to me?  Psalm 56:3-4

Fear is the first step toward obedience.  In Scripture, when God calls a person to a specific task or role, there first response is usually an objection, question, or doubt.  Fearfully, they ask, "Why have You chosen me?  I'm not qualified.  I've never done this before.,"

God chose Israel, although it was a small, insignificant nation (Deuteronomy 7:7).  God chose Moses, although he had run away from Egypt in fear.  God chose Joseph, although he was ridiculed and sold by his brother.  Jesus chose an unlikely group of men to be His disciples.  God delights in choosing those for whom it is impossible to fulfill His commands in their own strength.  He assures us "Cal upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me"  (Psalm 50:15).

When God calls us, He equips us.  If we get stuck in fear, we are forgetting who God is.  Although fear is a natural first step,m we must move from fear to faith to obey God.  As we focus on Him, remembering His power and strength, our faith increases.  He will be glorified through our obedience and bring to completion all He has promised.

Faith isn't the ability to believe long and far into the misty future.  It's simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step.

Senator Ted Cruz is currently “filibustering” on the Senate floor to #MakeDCListen on defunding Obamacare. According to various pundits and outlets, this is not technically a filibuster of course, but Professor Jacobson explains that a vote for cloture is a vote for Harry Reid. Zig-zagging against Obamacare

I realize I have re-posted this a number of times. The first time was November, 11, 2008, a week after Obama’s first election. Because I knew we had elected Door No. 2. Watching Ted Cruz and others on the floor of the Senate tonight, I have to repost it again. Is It Time For Conservatives To […]
