News Roundup 3/30/07

Haven't posted a News Roundup in quite a while, however, usually you can get most of the news that the MSM biased sources ignore at blogs like Michele Malkin's, Little Green Footballs, HotAir, WorldNetDaily, and Drudge. All of these excellent websites are bookmarked either in my blogroll or website links here at Talkwisdom.

There are so many outrageous things to report today. I will start with the one that has already been cancelled due to Christian outrage. See? It pays to speak up!

1. Display of Controversial 'Chocolate Jesus' Sculpture Cancelled. This is certainly good news. When I heard a report about this licentious and repugnant display of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I was outraged! This is beyond the pale, people. Regardless of what the "sculpture" claims that he, "didn't do it to insult anyone," the truth is that it is highly insulting, blasphemous and disrespectful (to say the least!) to Christians everywhere.

Unfortunately, this is typical. Every Easter, the usual news magazine culprits print their annual, anti-Christian "articles" questioning the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This incident is yet another attempt for spiritually lost people to mock our Lord and Savior.

Christians make up 70% of this country. It's not appropriate for those who choose not believe in Jesus to mock him. Just because they choose to ignore the fact that Jesus is who he says he is, namely, the Son of God, Lord and Savior of mankind, does not mean that they should have the liberty to abuse our country's freedom of speech in such a derogatory and despicable way as this.

Liberty does not mean licentiousness! Immoral license implies: "a freedom specially granted or conceded and may connote an abuse of freedom". That is exactly what this sculpture was, and I am so glad that the hotel manager had the common sense (finally!) to reject it from display.

2. Speaking of licentiousness, how about the admitted pedophile who created a website designed to give these creeps access to photos of young girls? What's worse, he wants to "mainstream" the morally reprehensible desire to have sex with young girls. So UGLY!! DISGUSTING!

Free speech was never intended to be used for such a purpose! This is why we have laws and restraints against such awful compulsions!

There is an epidemic of child predators and abusers in our nation today. Thank God that Bill O'Reilly has pushed for most states to pass Jessica's Law. Sexually abuse a child? Put any first time offender away for 25 years to life! That is appropriate justice for a crime which negatively and horribly affects a child for the rest of their lives. A pedophile should forfeit at least 25 years of his life in prison. When a child is abused and killed as horribly as Jessica was, then the perp deserves the death penalty...exactly what that murderous slimeball Couey deserved.

3. Hot Air has already covered the Rosie O'Dimwitt debacle quite thoroughly.

Intro over there:

I’m not exaggerating when I say that this is the video against which all future Rosie clips will be compared. Never has so much useful idiocy about so many subjects been compressed into so little time.

It’s her finest hour.

To the best of my knowledge this is the first time she’s used the show to advance Trutherism, which would seem to present a bit of a quandary for the resident “serious journalist.” Will she continue to lend her prestige to too-nutty-for-the-nutroots anti-Americanism? Or is it time to cut Big Mama loose and preserve whatever shred of credibility the show still has left?

Go see the video of Rosie's rant... that is, if you can stand it!

Commenter ibmkeyboard #89
over at LGF quipped, "The View should be re-named "The Spew!"

How apropos!!

*******
Update: 3/31/07

P.S. Isn't it odd that Rosie has turned off comments completely over at her sorry excuse for a blog? She even took off the email option! She has closed off all sources of replies to her ridiculous rantings of untruth and her spewing of hatred.

Dictator!

Yeah...she's for "free speech" only when it's her own! She cuts off Elizabeth Hasselbeck every day on "The Spew."

Bully!

Even her minnions of gushing trogolodyte (using definition #4:
a person unacquainted with affairs of the world; although some might even fit into the category of "cavedwellers," or an "animal living underground" too) followers can't respond.

4. I'm so glad and grateful that we have a President of the United States who doesn't do his business based on the latest liberal left lunatic poll. My hubby emailed the following article to me today. It certainly "hits the nail on the head" as far as the liberal left's ad nauseum complaints are concerned. The entire article was credited to Jay Leno, but at the moment, I was only able to confirm that the last statement was genuinely said by him. If anyone has proof that all of it was stated by Leno, please provide the link.

Whoever said all of this, whether or not it was Leno, absolutely made a great observation about the ungrateful whiners and complainers in our nation today!!

I've never heard Leno saying anything like this...but this is what got sent to me.....

JAY LENO..." HITS THE NAIL ON THE HEAD"
[Note: Update 3/31/07 Jaded was kind enough to share a link that tells us that Jay Leno did not say all of the following. Only the last quote is his.]

The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.

So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What we are so unhappy about?''

Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes , an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.

How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have , and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What about the President who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The President who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same President who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?

The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad?

Think about it -- are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the "Media" told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.

Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go.

They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a "general" discharge, an "other than honorable" discharge or, worst case scenario, a "dishonorable" discharge after a few days in the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by "justifying" them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way -- Insane!

Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad.

We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.

"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?" - Jay Leno

Rosie O'Pennafonte: Hollywood Morphing Into One Gigantic Idiot

My comment there:

Love this post!
Doug, you always demonstrate the greatest ability to share some serious truth, masterfully showing what village idiots these three people really are…and at the same time…making it all quite hilarious!

Second Update at 2:36 p.m.: Speaking of Hollyweird, there is a fire burning up behind the hill which is dangerously close to the famous "Hollywood" sign in Los Angeles, CA.

Hmmm....could this be a sign (pun intended!) of some sort? Could this be a sign against The Spew?
I wonder...

Good post Christine! Funny how nobody ever talks of making a "chocolate Prophet Mohammed." I wonder why...

Rosie O'Moonbat has hinted at her belief that 9/11 was an inside job to destroy Enron documents, and those of other countries. That's funny, because Enron execs were huge buddies with the Rosie's pals in the Clinton administration -- not that the cholesterol that's clogging Rosie's neuro-transmitters will ever become dislodged long enough for her to learn that.

The essay from Jay Leno isn't something he really said. I always forget how to insert links in my comments, so here's the site... you can copy and paste:

As for Not-So-Rosie...what she seems to have missed is the fact that even if the WTC was brought down by explosives INSIDE the building, the planning for the even happened began while Clinton was still in office. And in this day and age of instant news, did it never occur to her that someone might have seen a worker in the building setting up the explosives and snapped a pic on a cell phone?! And, she seems to have conveniently neglected to pay attention to the man who designed the twin towers when he said that he designed the building that way... in case of a plane crash. Oh, and nevermind the fact that steel is forged with fire to begin with...of course fire can melt it! The steel wasn't actually melted, it was softened from the intense heat and the weight of the building caused it to collapse. Little technicalities like that have no role in the minds of the truly whacko.

Mr. Jaded is reading a book which debunks all of the 9/11 conspiracy theories. I can't recall the name of it, but he says it's really interesting, informative and makes total sense. Plus, the people who are doing the debunking are actual scientists and such...not some obnoxious, self-absorbed comedian who has over-estimated her intelligence. OOOoooo she makes me mad!

Hi Doug!

Thanks! I added a link (in this blogpost)to your post about Rosie O'Pennafonte...thanks for the laugh! It was hilarious!

It's so sad that someone so idiotic like her has such a huge platform to spew her ignorant rhetoric.

Hi Jaded,

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

Just saw this link (via LGF) about Popular Mechanics responding to Rosie's stupid rantings.

I'm glad that you and your husband haven't fallen into the camp of the conspiracy theorists. I know some Christians who, unfortunately, have fallen for the propaganda and it's truly sad!

Thanks for that link! I just forwarded it to Mr. Jaded... he will love it!

I think it's great for someone to have strong opinions, and to have the courage to voice them in a public forum. However, an opinion is an interpretation of the facts... since Rosie's "facts" are wrong, her opinion is then rendered invalid. I get so annoyed that she voices them as facts and truths, when in reality, she has no idea what she's talking about because she listens to propaganda and mistakes it for fact. Ignorance is no excuse to be as dangerous as she is.

I no longer have the faith in the President that I once did, but the planning for these attacks happened long before he took office. I still think he handled the immediate aftermath perfectly, and I'm thankful he was the one in office at that time.
