Obama Caught in More Lies!

Barack Obama: Another Snakeoil Salesman

HT: Cao's blog

Paul Hollrah “Say What, Barrack?”:

Obama told his audience that, because some folks had the courage to “march across a bridge” in Selma, Alabama, his mother, a white woman from Kansas, and his father, a black Muslim from Africa, took heart. It gave them the courage to get married and have a child. The problem with that characterization is that Barrack Obama, Jr. was born on August 4, 1961, while the first of three marches across that bridge in Selma didn’t occur until March 7, 1965, at least five years after Obama’s parents met.

Obama went on to tell his audience that the Kennedys, Jack and Bobby, decided to do an airlift. They would bring some young Africans over so that they could be educated and learn all about America. His grandfather heard that call and sent his son, Barrack Obama, Sr., to America.

The problem with that scenario is that, having been born in August 1961, the future senator was not conceived until sometime in November 1960. So, if his African grandfather heard words that “sent a shout across oceans,” inspiring him to send his goat-herder son to America, it was not Democrat Jack Kennedy he heard, or his brother Bobby, it was Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Obama’s speech is reminiscent of Al Gore’s claim of having invented the Internet, Hillary Clinton’s claim of having been named after the first man to climb Mt. Everest… even though she was born five years and seven months before Sir Edmund climbed the mountain, and John Kerry’s imaginary trip to Cambodia.

Read the whole thing.

Hat Tip to Larry Sinclair.

And then there is this. In a previous post, I wrote about Obama's comment that the Muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth”…

But go to Cao's blog and look at the photo posted there.

Then read this:

Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago:

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”

This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says “Obama’s narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.”

This isn’t Obama’s white grandma, Madelyn Dunham, this is his black grandma, Sarah Hussein Obama.

He has paraded his step-grandmother in Kenya, who never saw him until the 1980s, as his “granny,” and locked the grandmother who actually raised him, Madelyn Dunham, away in a closet.

From the article at Newsmax entitlted, “Free Obama’s White Grandma.”

If this photo is from Obama himself, or his family, how did the Suntimes get the name of the woman pictured wrong?

Peculiar...isn't it?

it is amazing that people can take simple metaphores and turn them into lies. Can you look at the bills he has supported and his constant track record of effective leadership...He is a much more consistant candidate with great judgement, he never supported the Iraq war, never negativly attacked Hillary with misreresntation as she did. Never played on the ignorance and fear of the people to win votes. The question is, what are you afraid of by hiding behind these so called lies?

Oh Mayada,

This post is only the tip of the iceberg concerning Obama and his troubled past.

In addition to all of that (and there are MANY truly terrible former "associates" that he has been linked with); is the fact that he would take this country in a direction that is reminiscent of that portion of the 1960's liberal generation which held onto their own type of failed Socialistic/Marxist mindset. Obama's are quite similar in nature.

If you are young...then perhaps you don't even realize this.

Obama's form of "change" is not anything new...it's backward leading. It won't be a "change" for the better in this nation ...that's for sure!

Type in "Obama" in the "Search blog" box (upper left hand corner of my blog) and a list of previous posts (with dozens of links!) that I have previously written will be listed, one right after the other, on the same page.

Scroll down and read each post.

Then, you can come back here and answer your own (kinda twisted and convoluted) question!

[Sorry...but I call them as I see them!]

Mayada Kandaka Mannan-Brake said...

Well you look young you self. However, I have researched his history plenty of times...I have facts based on his performance just as I did with Gore. Though the country allowed the election to be stolen from Gore, I was always a proud supporter. People who have lead movements of change are part of American history...this country was founded on change. From his campaign alone, it is a leading example that we should change our politics, and perhaps end the plight of racisim in this country. You must not forget, the only person qualified to change our cynical ways is not Hillary who is already cynical, or McCain who will put us in more wars...but yes this man who will restore a sense of of peace in the nation after such horrible devestation of the Bush administration.

Mayada,

I agree completely and so does the majority of Americans!! Go Obama!!

Christinewjc said...

Well Mayada (and David), you are entitled to your own opinions. However, I believe that you are wrong regarding most of what you have written in your latest comment.

I could point out the many people who have been interviewed and asked the question, "What has Obama accomplished?" Guess what their answers have been? Silence! Most are unable to think of even one thing that the man has accomplished! Being a great "orator" and motivational speaker does not qualify a person to be president.

I could point out that if we add up all of the promises of programs and hand-outs that Obama would set in motion, it would amount to an absolutely astounding sum of money. Where will this money come from? Answer: the American taxpayer.

Higher taxes stunt job growth and job creation. It takes away the money that families can use for their everyday lives and gives it to government officials who use it for their favorite pork barrel spending projects. Recall that bridge to nowhere?

The government deserves a fair share; especially for the reason to defend our nation. But Dems always go too far with raising taxes. Did you know that some Dem leaders think that 80% tax rate isn't too much? That's insane!

I think that my husband and I can utilize the money he earns more effectively than Congress.

Obama's past dealings and associations with some people of highly questionable character should send alarm bells throughout the electorate. However, many of the supporters of Obama don't know the details about his racist minister, that minister's dealings with Louis Farrakhan (a racist against whites and an anti-Semite); his friendship with William Ayers - a known domestic terrorist!

I could go on and on...but here is a blog that has lots of information and links regarding what many investigative and thinking Americans have found quite disturbing about Obama.

If Obama wins the Dem nomination, his minions will be in for a sad awakening on many counts.

John McCain has the seasoned experience that it takes to be Commander in Chief. Obama has only a lot of rhetoric...inspiring rhetoric...but not practical nor pleasing for the direction that America should go.

All of his questionable dealings (see site links) that he has had with some really awful people will come out to the general public (who may not be currently aware because they don't read the internet news and/or blogs) and McCain will emerge as the clear choice for the majority of Americans.

I just feel bad that so many young people will find that their new "messiah-like" hero will be exposed for what he really is. An empty suit (nice man, pleasant personality, wonderful speaker etc.) but...an empty suit nonetheless whose ideas are reminiscent of the 1960's counter-culture Marxist leaning, liberal licientiousness pushing, anti-moral values views that would take this Judeo-Christian morals and values nation in the COMPLETELY WRONG DIRECTION!

Mayada Kandaka Mannan-Brake said...

lol!! Yes some supporters do not know his history since his name is not branced and well know to the public. I respect McCain, but have lost respect for Hillary. I understand you maybe a conservative, but we as Americans will not at this point in time vote in a Republican. I am sure you are afraid of big goverment etc...But there is something fundemetally wrong with a system that beleives prisons, and health care should be run like a privatized buisness. Like it or not, there are many American's who have sufford from the Bush Administration...and the republicans put him in office twice! Once the election was stolen, and who knows what happened the second time!

Now that is the power of communication...yes some people don't know much about Obama, but because he is a great communicator (necessary for any leadership position) he is able to start from the bottom (no one knowing who he is) and become a leading candidate. You sound like you may need to know more about the Senator...have you read his books?? He is more then a "speaker." These attacks on his service, and to reduce it to a small role of a "speaker," is very misleading and immature. I hope these facts below shed some light on Obama (let me know if you need resources!):

Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. (born in Nyangoma-Kogelo, Bondo District, Nyanza Province, Kenya,[8] of Luo ethnicity) and Ann Dunham (born in Wichita, Kansas).[9] Throughout his early years, he was commonly known at home and school as "Barry".[10] Obama's parents met while both were attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where his father was enrolled as a foreign student.[11] They separated when he was two years old and later divorced.[12] His father went to Harvard University to pursue Ph.D. studies, then returned to Kenya, where he died in an automobile accident in 1982.[13] His mother married another foreign student, Lolo Soetoro, and the family moved to Soetoro's home country of Indonesia in 1967.[14] Obama attended local schools in Jakarta from ages 6 to 10, where classes were taught in Indonesian.[15][16] He then returned to Honolulu to live with his maternal grandparents while attending Punahou School from the fifth grade until his graduation in 1979.[17] Obama's mother, Ann, died of ovarian cancer and uterine cancer a few months after the publication of his 1995 memoir, Dreams from My Father.[18]

In the memoir, Obama describes his experiences growing up in his mother's American middle class family. His knowledge about his African father, who returned once for a brief visit in 1971, came mainly through family stories and photographs.[13] Of his early childhood, Obama writes: "That my father looked nothing like the people around me—that he was black as pitch, my mother white as milk—barely registered in my mind."[19] The book describes his struggles as a young adult to reconcile social perceptions of his multiracial heritage.[20] He wrote that he used alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine during his teenage years to "push questions of who I was out of my mind".[21] Reflecting later on his formative years in Honolulu, Obama wrote: "The opportunity that Hawaii offered—to experience a variety of cultures in a climate of mutual respect—became an integral part of my world view, and a basis for the values that I hold most dear."[22]

After high school, Obama moved to Los Angeles, where he studied at Occidental College for two years.[23] He then transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialization in international relations.[24] Obama received his Bachelor of Arts in 1983, then worked at Business International Corporation and New York Public Interest Research Group before moving to Chicago to take a job as a community organizer.[25] As Director of the Developing Communities Project, he worked with low-income residents in Chicago's Roseland community and the Altgeld Gardens public housing development.[26] He entered Harvard Law School in 1988.[27] In 1990, The New York Times reported his election as the Harvard Law Review's "first black president in its 104-year history".[28] He completed his J.D. degree magna cum laude in 1991.[29] On returning to Chicago, Obama directed a voter registration drive.[29] As an associate attorney with Miner, Barnhill & Galland from 1993 to 1996, he represented community organizers, discrimination claims, and voting rights cases.[30] He was a lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1993 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004.[31]

State legislature
Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996 from the 13th District, which then spanned Chicago South Side neighborhoods from Hyde Park-Kenwood south to South Shore and west to Chicago Lawn.[32] In 2000, he made an unsuccessful Democratic primary run for the U.S. House of Representatives seat held by four-term incumbent candidate Bobby Rush.[33] He was reelected to the Illinois Senate in 1998 and 2002 (when the 13th District was redrawn to span Chicago lakefront neighborhoods from the Gold Coast south to South Chicago).[34] In January 2003, Obama became chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee when Democrats, after a decade in the minority, regained a majority in the Illinois Senate. He resigned from the Illinois Senate in November 2004 following his election to the U.S. Senate.[35] As a state legislator, Obama gained bipartisan support for legislation reforming ethics and health care laws.[36] He sponsored a law enhancing tax credits for low-income workers, negotiated welfare reform, and promoted increased subsidies for childcare.[37] Obama also led the passage of legislation mandating videotaping of homicide interrogations, and a law to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they stopped.[37] During his 2004 general election campaign for U.S. Senate, he won the endorsement of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, whose president credited Obama for his active engagement with police organizations in enacting death penalty reforms.[38] He was criticized by rival pro-choice candidates in the Democratic primary and by his Republican pro-life opponent in the general election for a series of "present" or "no" votes on late-term abortion and parental notification issues.[39]

Keynote address at 2004 Democratic National Convention
Obama wrote and delivered the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, Massachusetts, while still serving as a state legislator.[40] After describing his maternal grandfather's experiences as a World War II veteran and a beneficiary of the New Deal's FHA and G.I. Bill programs, Obama said:

No, people don't expect government to solve all their problems. But they sense, deep in their bones, that with just a change in priorities, we can make sure that every child in America has a decent shot at life, and that the doors of opportunity remain open to all. They know we can do better. And they want that choice.[41]

Questioning the Bush administration's management of the Iraq War, Obama spoke of an enlisted Marine, Corporal Seamus Ahern from East Moline, Illinois, asking, "Are we serving Seamus as well as he is serving us?" He continued:

When we send our young men and women into harm's way, we have a solemn obligation not to fudge the numbers or shade the truth about why they're going, to care for their families while they're gone, to tend to the soldiers upon their return, and to never ever go to war without enough troops to win the war, secure the peace, and earn the respect of the world.[41]

Finally, he spoke for national unity:

The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into red states and blue states; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking around in our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and, yes, we've got some gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported the war in Iraq. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America.[41]

The speech was most Americans' introduction to Obama. Its enthusiastic reception at the convention and widespread coverage by national media gave him instant celebrity status.[42]

Senate campaign
Main article: United States Senate election in Illinois, 2004
In 2003, Obama began his run for the U.S. Senate open seat vacated by Peter Fitzgerald. In early opinion polls leading up to the Democratic primary, Obama trailed multimillionaire businessman Blair Hull and Illinois Comptroller Daniel Hynes.[43] However, Hull's popularity declined following allegations of domestic abuse.[43] Obama's candidacy was boosted by an advertising campaign featuring images of the late Chicago Mayor Harold Washington and the late U.S. Senator Paul Simon; the support of Simon's daughter; and political endorsements by the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.[44] Obama received over 52% of the vote in the March 2004 primary, emerging 29% ahead of his nearest Democratic rival.[45] His opponent in the general election was expected to be Republican primary winner Jack Ryan. However, Ryan withdrew from the race in June 2004, following public disclosure of child custody divorce records containing sexual allegations by Ryan's ex-wife, actress Jeri Ryan.[46] In August 2004, with less than three months to go before election day, Alan Keyes accepted the Illinois Republican Party's nomination to replace Ryan.[47] A long-time resident of Maryland, Keyes established legal residency in Illinois with the nomination.[48] Through three televised debates, Obama and Keyes expressed opposing views on stem cell research, abortion, gun control, school vouchers, and tax cuts.[49] In the November 2004 general election, Obama received 70% of the vote to Keyes's 27%, the largest electoral victory in Illinois history.[50]

Senate career
Obama was sworn in as a senator on January 4, 2005.[51] Although a newcomer to Washington, he recruited a team of established, high-level advisers devoted to broad themes that exceeded the usual requirements of an incoming first-term senator.[52] Obama hired Pete Rouse, a 30-year veteran of national politics and former chief of staff to Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle, as his chief of staff, and economist Karen Kornbluh, former deputy chief of staff to Secretary of the Treasury Robert Rubin, as his policy director.[53] His key foreign policy advisers include Samantha Power, author on human rights and genocide, and former Clinton administration officials Anthony Lake and Susan Rice.[54] Obama holds assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Veterans' Affairs, and he is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.[55] The U.S. Senate Historical Office lists him as the fifth African American Senator in U.S. history, the third to have been popularly elected, and the only African American currently serving in the Senate.[56]

109th Congress
Obama took an active role in the Senate's drive for improved border security and immigration reform. In 2005, he co-sponsored the "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act" introduced by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).[57] He later added three amendments to the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act", which passed the Senate in May 2006, but failed to gain majority support in the U.S. House of Representatives.[58] In September 2006, Obama supported a related bill, the Secure Fence Act, authorizing construction of fencing and other security improvements along the United States–Mexico border.[59] President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act into law in October 2006, calling it "an important step toward immigration reform."[60]

Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discuss the Coburn-Obama Transparency Act.[61]Partnering first with Sen. Dick Lugar (R-IN), and then with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Obama successfully introduced two initiatives bearing his name. "Lugar-Obama" expands the Nunn-Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines.[62] The "Coburn-Obama Transparency Act" provides for the web site USAspending.gov, managed by the Office of Management and Budget. The site lists all organizations receiving Federal funds from 2007 onward and provides breakdowns by the agency allocating the funds, the dollar amount given, and the purpose of the grant or contract.[63] In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the "Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act," marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor.[64]

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks.[65] Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. At a meeting with Palestinian students two weeks before Hamas won the legislative election, Obama warned that "the U.S. will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Israel."[66] He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya.[67] The speech touched off a public debate among rival leaders, some formally challenging Obama's remarks as unfair and improper, others defending his positions.[68]

110th Congress
In the first month of the newly Democratic-controlled 110th Congress, Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D–WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act", which was signed into law in September 2007.[69] He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections.[70] Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with John McCain (R-AZ) of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production.[71] Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007", a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.[72]

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs.[73] He sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry,[74] and joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.[75] A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.[75] Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.[76] After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans."[77

oh and here is some info on his political advocacy:

On the role of government in economic affairs, Obama has written: "We should be asking ourselves what mix of policies will lead to a dynamic free market and widespread economic security, entrepreneurial innovation and upward mobility [...] we should be guided by what works."[91] Speaking before the National Press Club in April 2005, he defended the New Deal social welfare policies of Franklin D. Roosevelt, associating Republican proposals to establish private accounts for Social Security with social Darwinism.[92] In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Obama spoke out against government indifference to growing economic class divisions, calling on both political parties to take action to restore the social safety net for the poor.[93] Shortly before announcing his presidential campaign, Obama told the health care advocacy group Families USA: "I am absolutely determined that by the end of the first term of the next president, we should have universal health care in this country."[94]

Obama speaking at a rally in Conway, South Carolina on August 23, 2007.[95]Meeting with Google employees in November 2007, Obama pledged to appoint a Chief Technology Officer to oversee the U.S. government's management of IT resources and promote wider access to government information and decision making.[96] Reaffirming his commitment to net neutrality legislation, Obama said "once providers start to privilege some applications or web sites over others, then the smaller voices get squeezed out, and we all lose."[97] Campaigning in New Hampshire, he announced an $18 billion plan for investments in early childhood education, math and science education, and expanded summer learning opportunities.[98] Obama's campaign distinguished his proposals to reward teachers for performance from traditional merit pay systems, assuring unions that changes would be pursued through the collective bargaining process.[99]

At the Tax Policy Center in September 2007, he blamed special interests for distorting the U.S. tax code. "We are taxing income from work at nearly twice the level that we're taxing gains for investors," Obama said. "We've lost the balance between work and wealth."[100] His plan would eliminate taxes for senior citizens with incomes of less than $50,000 a year, repeal tax cuts said to favor the wealthy, close corporate tax loopholes and restrict offshore tax havens, and simplify filing of income tax returns by pre-filling wage and bank information already collected by the IRS.[101] Announcing his presidential campaign's energy plan in October 2007, Obama said: "Businesses don’t own the sky, the public does, and if we want them to stop polluting it, we have to put a price on all pollution." He proposed a cap and trade auction system to restrict carbon emissions and a 10 year program of investments in new energy sources to reduce U.S. dependence on imported oil.[102]

Obama was an early opponent of Bush administration policies on Iraq.[103] On October 2, 2002, the day Bush and Congress agreed on the joint resolution authorizing the Iraq War,[104] Obama addressed the first high-profile Chicago anti-Iraq War rally in Federal Plaza,[105] saying:

I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars.[106]

On March 16, 2003, the day Bush issued his 48-hour ultimatum to Saddam Hussein to leave Iraq before the U.S. invasion of Iraq,[107] Obama addressed the largest Chicago anti-Iraq War rally to date in Daley Plaza and told the crowd "It's not too late" to stop the war.[108]

Obama sought to make his early public opposition to the Iraq War before it started a major issue in his 2004 U.S. Senate campaign to distinguish himself from his Democratic primary rivals who supported the resolution authorizing the Iraq War,[109] and in his 2008 U.S. Presidential campaign to distinguish himself from four Democratic primary rivals who voted for the resolution authorizing the Iraq War (Senators Clinton, Edwards, Biden, and Dodd).[110]

Obama addressed the Save Darfur rally at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 2006.[111]Speaking to the Chicago Council on Global Affairs in November 2006, Obama called for a "phased redeployment of U.S. troops from Iraq" and an opening of diplomatic dialogue with Syria and Iran.[112] In a March 2007 speech to AIPAC, a pro-Israel lobby, he said that while the U.S. "should take no option, including military action, off the table, sustained and aggressive diplomacy combined with tough sanctions should be our primary means to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons."[113] Detailing his strategy for fighting global terrorism in August 2007, Obama said "it was a terrible mistake to fail to act" against a 2005 meeting of al-Qaeda leaders that U.S. intelligence had confirmed to be taking place in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas. He said that as president he would not miss a similar opportunity, even without the support of the Pakistani government.[114]

In a December 2005 Washington Post opinion column, and at the Save Darfur rally in April 2006, Obama called for more assertive action to oppose genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan.[115] He has divested $180,000 in personal holdings of Sudan-related stock, and has urged divestment from companies doing business in Iran.[116] In the July-August 2007 issue of Foreign Affairs, Obama called for an outward looking post-Iraq War foreign policy and the renewal of American military, diplomatic, and moral leadership in the world. Saying "we can neither retreat from the world nor try to bully it into submission," he called on Americans to "lead the world, by deed and by example."[117]

Obama has encouraged Democrats to reach out to evangelicals and other religious people, saying, "if we truly hope to speak to people where they’re at—to communicate our hopes and values in a way that’s relevant to their own—we cannot abandon the field of religious discourse."[118] In December 2006, he joined Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) at the "Global Summit on AIDS and the Church" organized by church leaders Kay and Rick Warren.[119] Together with Warren and Brownback, Obama took an HIV test, as he had done in Kenya less than four months earlier.[120] He encouraged "others in public life to do the same" to show "there is no shame in going for an HIV test."[121] Before the conference, 18 pro-life groups published an open letter stating, in reference to Obama's support for legal abortion: "In the strongest possible terms, we oppose Rick Warren's decision to ignore Senator Obama's clear pro-death stance and invite him to Saddleback Church anyway."[122] Addressing over 8,000 United Church of Christ members in June 2007, Obama challenged "so-called leaders of the Christian Right" for being "all too eager to exploit what divides us."[123

Wow....I just took the time to view that video over at Stop the ACLU about the homegrown terrorist group The Weathermen Underground.

I can't understand how a man who associates himself with these kinds of people has made it this far in the Dem primary!! Perhaps Hillary Clinton will choose just the right moment to expose all of this about Barack Hussein Obama!

Here is a copy of what is written at the Stop the ACLU blog as well as some of the comments:

Barack Obama has been running his campaign in the style of a revolutionary. Just how radical and liberal Obama is has been well hidden by the campaign. If you haven’t heard about his friendship with the leaders of the radical group, the Weather Underground, you can thank the media. Just how radically left this man is can be seen in what company he keeps.

In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

…“I can remember being one of a small group of people who came to Bill Ayers’ house to learn that Alice Palmer was stepping down from the senate and running for Congress,” said Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician and advocate for single-payer health care, of the informal gathering at the home of Ayers and his wife, Dohrn. “[Palmer] identified [Obama] as her successor.”

Obama and Palmer “were both there,” he said.

Obama’s connections to Ayers and Dorhn have been noted in some fleeting news coverage in the past. But the visit by Obama to their home — part of a campaign courtship — reflects more extensive interaction than has been previously reported.

Ayers and Dorhn are extremist radicals from the 1960’s anti-war terrorist group the Weather Underground, and they are unrepentant in the bombings they were a part of. They disappeared in 1970 after a bomb designed to kill army officers in New Jersey accidentally destroyed a Greenwich Village townhouse. They turned themselves over to authorities in 1980. While the Weather Underground claimed 25 bombings, these characters were never prosecuted. Charges were dropped due to improper FBI surviellance.

Even today they remain proud of their violent past.

“I don’t regret setting bombs; I feel we didn’t do enough,” Ayers told the New York Times in 2001.

Obama does some nice double talk and condemns the actions of the Weather Underground, however he remains good friends with two of them that remain unrepentant for their actions. They helped launch his political career.

Via Right Wing Nut House: There were other “encounters” with Ayers over the years, including the fact that both men served on a far left foundation as board members:

Wondering whether the three may have crossed paths is not speculation. It is a fact that they have. Ayers, Dohrn, and Obama have appeared together at a number of gatherings and academic events.

In November 1997, Ayers and Obama participated in a panel at the University of Chicago entitled Should a child ever be called a “super predator?” to debate “the merits of the juvenile justice system”.

In April 2002, Ayers, Dohrn, and Obama, then an Illinois State Senator, participated together at a conference entitled “Intellectuals: Who Needs Them?” sponsored by The Center for Public Intellectuals and the University of Illinois-Chicago. Ayers and Obama were two of the six members of the “Intellectuals in Times of Crisis” panel.

Ayers, “who in the 1960s was a member of the terrorist group Weatherman and a wanted fugitive for over a decade as a result of the group’s bombing campaign,” is currently the Board Chairman of the Woods Fund of Chicago and Obama is a former Board member.

Lefty blogger Taylor Marsh:

This is the vein in the Democratic party I will never understand, cannot accept on any level. What is it about some people who just don’t get the problems with our Democratic nominee being friendly, even taking a contribution (however small), as well as having a meeting as recently as 1995 with an unrepentant domestic terrorist like William Ayers? It reveals a lack of seriousness about the issue of terrorism and the dangerously immature judgment of anyone who is going to associate with a man, at the very least, that Republicans will use to beat us over the head with, having the bonus of hitting a spot the public loves to drink up, which is that our party is not serious about the dangers we face in this world.

Rick Moran asks the ultimate question:

Will the media expose Obama? Will they criticize Senator McCain if he tries to paint Obama as a radical? Will they dig deep into Obama’s associations and associates to discover the truth?

Update: Hillary pushed the story, but her own husband pardoned a member of the same terrorist group. Wow!

OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT? PUHULEESE , LET’S GET SERIOUS! THANK GOODNESS THE PRESS PRINTED SOMETHING REVEALING THE TRUE SENTIMENTS OF THIS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE (DEMOCRAT), STILL, ALL WERE FAR TOO KIND…

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, “UNPATRIOTIC”‘ ,THEY WROTE, [ON YAHOO AND ELSEWHERE (2/23/08)]. THIS IS, UNDENIABLY, TOO FAVORABLE A EUPHEMISM FOR ONE RUNNING FOR THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN OUR LAND! APPARENTLY, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WHO PUT FORTH THE CRITICISM, ARE SUGAR-COATING THEIR WORDS ABOUT HIM,AS WELL. I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN ELECTION YEAR, NOT A FRIENDLYSOCCER GAME!

I FOR ONE, WILL NOT BE SILENCED OR SUBDUED BY HIS CURRENT FANFARE.

THE NERVE OF HIM AND HIS WIFE! SHE BLATANTLY DOCUMENTED THAT SHE’S NEVER BEEN PROUD OF BEING AN AMERICAN IN HER ADULT LIFE , ??? (UNTIL NOW, WHEN LEFTIST-GURU HUSBAND RUNS , NOT FOR MAYOR, BUT FOR DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION FOR PRESIDENCY OF OUR UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?)

WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS, ANYWAY?… TO REFUSE TO WEAR THE AMERICAN FLAG PIN ON HIS LAPEL !… OR EVEN PUT HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART DURING OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM? THIS IS NOT MERELY “UNPATRIOTIC” WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING FOR THIS POSITION OF THE HIGHEST MAGNITUDE! THIS IS A DISGRACE. SHAME ON HIM FOR REFUSING TO DO THESE, THE VERY SIMPLEST TOKENS OF NATIONAL RESPECT.

BY HIS BOLD REFUSAL TO HONOR THESE SACRED AMERICAN TRADITIONS, THIS OBAMA UNDERMINES ALL THAT WE STAND FOR, ALL THAT MANY FIGHT & DIE FOR, EVEN AS I WRITE THIS !

WE ALL SHOULD DISMISS HIM, READILY, FROM ANY AND ALL OBLIGATIONS TO US.

IS THIS WHAT MIGHT RULE OVER OUR BLESSED COUNTRY, BE COMMANDER AND CHIEF TO OUR EVER-COURAGEOUS ARMED FORCES? HEAVEN HELP US ! WE HAD BETTER NOT ALLOW HIM TO ATTAIN THIS POST, MY FRIENDS, THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS,REVERED OF ALL POSITIONS, EVER BESTOWED ON ANY ONE INDIVIDUAL:THE PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA !!!!!!

WE PATRIOTIC AMERICANS, SAY TO BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA: “AMERICA, LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT” !

BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA HAS STATED IN AN INTERVIEW THAT, IF ELECTED, HE INTENDS TO “PARTNER WITH IRAQ “; (AS WELL AS SHUN OUR ALLIES). THAT WOULD BE A “CHANGE”,ALRIGHT. IN ANOTHER INTERVIEW HE SLURRED LACKADAISICALLY: THEY (THE PEOPLE) MAY ELECT SOMEONE ELSE “TO RUN THIS “THING” ” ( REFERRING TO”AMERICA” AS “THIS “thing”). INCREDIBLE ! BUT, WHAT IS EVEN MORE SHOCKING,

IS THAT : NOBODY, NOBODY: NOT THE PRESS, NOR THE POLITICAL PARTIES, EVEN CALLED HIM ON THESE CRITICAL REMARKS!

THIS OVERLY- PRIVILEGED AMERICAN MALE, HAS BEHAVED WITHOUT HONOR. PEOPLE FROM EVERYWHERE,EVERYWHERE,ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO PLACE THEIR HANDS OVER THEIR HEARTS AND HOLD OUR FLAGS HIGH FOR AMERICA, BUT HE OVERTLY REFRAINS??? EXCUSE ME, SIR…. EVEN OUR WORST ADVERSARIES HAVE HONORED OUR AMERICAN TRADITIONS WHEN THEY VISIT OUR HOME OF THE FREE !!! I AM TIRED OF THIS COMMUNIST SYMPATHIZING ATTITUDE AND CARELESS EMBRACE OF THOSE WHO WOULD BLINDLY WELCOME THIS BRAND OF “CHANGE” . THIS IS NO IDLE CHATTER, NOR IS IT TALK SHOW RHETORIC,THAT WE PUT FORTH.

RECENT RESEARCH IN AIM (ACCURACY IN MEDIA.COM) REVEALS VERBATIM THIS “DEMOCRATIC” CANDIDATE’S COMMUNISTIC ENTANGLEMENTS, IN ADDITION TO THE FACT THAT HIS MENTOR/TEACHER WAS A WELL-KNOWN STAUNCH COMMUNIST (FORMERLY NAMED BY HIM AS “FRANK”) :

Obama?s Communist Mentor
AIM Column | By Cliff Kincaid | February 18, 2008

In his books, Obama admits attending “socialist conferences” and coming into contact with Marxist literature. But he ridicules the charge of being a “hard-core academic Marxist,” which was made by his colorful and outspoken 2004 U.S. Senate opponent, Republican Alan Keyes.
However, through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his “poetry” and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just “Frank.”

LIBERAL? POSING AS “DEMOCRATS”, AND THEN RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT? AS I WRITE THIS, HE IS BEING PAID THE USUAL HEFTY SENATOR’S SALARY BY ALL OF US (AMERICANS, ALL) TO NOT SHOW UP REGULARLY AT HIS SENATOR’S JOB. RATHER ,IN ACTUALITY,WE ARE PAYING HIM SO HE CAN PARADE AROUND THE COUNTRY;RUN HIS HUMOR-BASED RIDICULE CAMPAIGN, AND DIMINISH OUR AMERICA, BY HIS OWN IMMATURE ACTIONS!

SO, IF HE SEEMS OVERTLY SILLY & OPTIMISTIC, WELL, WE HAVE GIVEN HIM PLENTY OF REASONS TO GRIN (IT APPEARS AS IF HE IS LAUGHING AT US … YOU GULLIBLE, INFINITELY TOLERANT AMERICANS,YOU)…

I SAY, C’MON., THIS IS THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND, FELLOW CITIZENS !

WE ARE A PROUDEST OF DEMOCRACIES, AND WE WOULD DO WELL TO PRESERVE THIS PRIVILEGE BESTOWED UPON US. AS HE WELL KNOWS, WE EVEN HAVE A COMMUNIST PARTY, THAT MAY BETTER ACCOMMODATE HIS “PUBLIC- DENIAL-OF–AMERICA”- CAMPAIGN STYLE. IF YOU ARE GOING TO RUN, SIR, AT LEAST RUN UNDER THE CORRECT TICKET, !

WELL,FOLKS,IT IS A LITTLE LATE IN THE DAY OF THIS ELECTION, BUT NOT TOO LATE. IF ANTI-AMERICAN SENTIMENT IN A PRESIDENT DOESN’T SCARE THE HECK OUT OF YOU, PERHAPS THIS WILL: I WAS DOING A REPORT WITH MY 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, ON THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES AND FOUND ON THIS DISTURBING PIECE OF INFO ON WIKIPEDIA (FREE INTERNET ENCYCLOPEDIA ITEM 20)

Do you really think the U.S. would have known American Terrorists teaching at Univeristy's, owning homes..etc...and if they are where is the organge alert!!! :)

Christinewjc said...

I am going to make a prediction. I predict that Mayada will totally dismiss the need for any concern regarding Obama and his friendship with people like Ayers and Dohrn.

Why?

Because that's what liberals do. Whenever they think that they can get away with it, they dismiss the ties of THEIR government officials with unsavory characters.

Before I started typing this, I through in a load of laundry into the washer. I was thinking that dirt such a terrorism, can NEVER be washed from the hands of the perpetrators.

Well...I just looked at the comments to be moderated and if truth be told, Mayada has done EXACTLY what I predicted!

There are also two more comments that she has written about Obama's "accomplishments." Good for her. At least she is an informed voter.

However, it still highly disturbs me that this additional information regarding Obama's RECENT SCHMOOZING WITH THE TERRORIST AYERS does not bother her...and, in fact, is being dismissed in her mind.

How sad.

FYI, Mayada - to answer your last question in your third comment (to be published below):

Mayada: "Do you really think the U.S. would have known American Terrorists teaching at Univeristy's, owning homes..etc...and if they are where is the organge alert!!! :) "

I guess you neglected to read this portion of the post at the ACLU site:

While the Weather Underground claimed 25 bombings, these characters were never prosecuted. Charges were dropped due to improper FBI surviellance.

Even today they remain proud of their violent past.

“I don’t regret setting bombs; I feel we didn’t do enough,” Ayers told the New York Times in 2001.

Nice company that Barack keeps...eh?

Are you always this fiesty when you dont get your way? lol...not sure if you can call me a liberal. I am a humanitarian to say the least. I don't dismiss anything, I simply do my research before buying into allegations. Did you dismiss Bush when he clearly stole the election from Al Gore? Did you vote for him the second time around even though they should have been impeached for violating the U.S. constitution?

May the best man/woman win the election in November. It was a pleasure chatting it up with you!

Mayada,

It appears that you like to bring up the more recent past regarding politics...except when it involves Obama and his socialist/Marxist/communist leanings. You have totally ignored and/or dismissed all of the information that I have shared regarding that fact. Perhaps the reason for this is that you are in agreement with such leanings?

Obama's Change Equals Communism

P.S. I see that the "Reverend" Jeremiah Wrong is in the news again; spewing more hateful, bigoted (it's ok for HIM to use the N word...after all...he's black) and nasty comments. Nice pastor Obama has.../sarcasm

Mayada Kandaka Mannan-Brake said...

I like this! It's a bit fun. Are you still stuck in the cold war era? FYI, it's over!!!I'm dismissing your jargon because it is bigot, and cannot hold up as a fact. You cannot prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Your attacks on my character are silly and immature.

Have you ever stepped out side of your "world?" Have you ever traveled, dealt with diplomacy, helped neighborhoods, did grass roots campaigning. Have you ever done anything for the greater good of humanity in this country? I have...and you sound like you’re isolated. It's a shame that you think this way. I hope one day you choose to live, and understand that world is not out to get you, and to get out side of your comfy life. You cannot continue dismissing human struggle, you cannot dehumanize people to the extend of calling them communist.

Your labels are a sign of fear...it is obvious you fear change like many far right conservatives. I enjoy meeting people like you; it reminds me how people choose to live in their comfort zone...like the matrix. I have one life, and I am living it as a good person, not a cynical one! You are probably the same type who does not believe what was done to the Native American's was a genocide, and if you lived back in the civil rights era you would have probably supported Jim Crow...and I am sure you don’t see how ignorant you sound. It is a shame, but I meet isolated people like you every day. Do me a favor travel the world, get involved in poor communities with children, help people out side your demographics...step out side of your comfort zone before you judge those who dedicate their life in public service! Do you choose the blue or red pill as they say in the Matrix!

Mayada,

Communism/socialism/Marxism has been shown to be a dismal, easily corruptible, oppressive, dictatorial and deadly type of government. It has been mostly defeated (for now) but as history has shown, it can reappear anytime, anywhere. You do realize that there still are communist governments (China, Cuba etc.) around the world, right?

The "utopia" idea of the Marxist/socialistic style of government has been shown to harm and kill millions of people. It is shown not to work for the good of mankind. Historically, such governments have been huge failures. Trouble is, oftentimes history repeats itself. Unfortunately, that is what I see Obama doing to America.

We face a new enemy...probably even more dangerous than communism. Radical Islamo-facism.

Obama has already stated that he would make the disasterous decision to withdraw from Iraq without winning the battle there first. His foreign policy experience is zero!! He appears to be ignorant of radical Islam's threat that is currently raging throughout the world. Are you ignorant of it too?

If so, then please educate yourself!

Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West

It isn't about "fear" Mayada. It's about recognizing the threat and taking responsibility to protect, defend, and secure our country in the midst of it all. Radical Islam isn't going away overnight. Have you seen the ongoing plight of Israel against radical Islamic terrorism over the past 61 years since it became an independent state?

Please visit that link (above) and watch the film trailer. Then, visit and read at the sites linked below so you can put down the liberalism Kool-Aid they have been serving up to you and educate yourself regarding the attacks of radical Islam going on around the world!

Don't be naive!!

Don't place your head in the sand because liberalism tells you to do so!

Lastly, you do not know anything about me. I think that it is very disingenuous of you to presume that you do.

Like my son said the other day, "don't assume anything...because when you do, you're headed towards making an a** out of u and me."

Mayada Kandaka Mannan-Brake said...

Would have to say here in America we are ignorant to Islamic fundamentalism. I understand where you are coming from. Let me be more personal, I am a U.S. citizen who came as a refugee from Sudan. My father worked as a diplomat and resigned when the fundamentalist Islamist took over....so this is a reality for me.

I disagree to the war in Iraq because it had nothing to do with 911. Conservatives, liberals, as well as moderates agree on this point. If you understand the nature of the terrorist as I do, you would know Iraq will be another desert storm. We will always have a military presence in Iraq because of this war, but we cannot continue to fight an ideological war...you cannot tell who the enemy is. It is not a regular sovereign state that waged war on us...it is random gorilla attacks...suicide bombers...matters...similar ideology when we faced the Japanese in Pearl Harbor. The truth of the matter is; war is not beneficial to anyone...especially those in it. I have met many troops here in Washington, DC who has come back. It is a sad scene!!! So many young people who join the Army and get sent to Iraq end up committing suicide.

It is easy to speak about what we should do in Iraq when we are not the one's suffering. This is also bad for Mid East Relations. We should be focused and go after Osma Binladin, we know where they are. The fight on terrorism is not in Iraq, it seems that way because we have created a vacuum by occupying a country based on false facts. Even if you voted for Bush, I am sure if you had to you would not vote for him again. He doesn't even act like a fiscal conservative...He is wastefull.

I sence that you are a good person at heart, we just grew up in differant world; therefore, have differant world views.

Christinewjc said...

You didn't mention anything about the positive side of removing the brutal dictator, Saddam Hussein, from power. His war crimes killed hundreds of thousands of his own people!

Well, it probably would be a waste of typing to argue about the Iraq war. However, I will point out two issues.

1. History will be the final judge about the war in Iraq. There is a commentary that I read quite a while ago and saved at my message board that I think speaks to this.

2. Various Iraqi leaders have "turned the corner," so to speak, and reject the terrorists/insurgents in their country and have now changed course to help our military secure the country. The people have now come to realize that we are there to help them establish their own government. We are not there to take over their country (as Iran most certainly would do).

Have you noticed that the MSM isn't covering the good news in Iraq since the surge? They only cover the bad news and always have. Why is that? Because they are biased towards the liberal viewpoints and hate President Bush.

I personally think that Osama bin Hidin' has actually been dead for quite some time. Click on this link and scroll down to several blog posts I have written about this in the past.

You are correct. We do come from very different ideological backgrounds and most likely, will never agree.

Mayada Kandaka Mannan-Brake said...

Removing Sadam Hussien is the only good point, but it should have been done in the early 90's when he was killing Iraqies. Now we have killed more Iraqies then Sadam Hussien...go figuer...over 350,000 and counting. Most of the Iraquies dying are simple casualty.

Mayada Kandaka Mannan-Brake said...

one more thing: No matter how you try to justify it, it is not o.k. to occupy a country. It is not o.k. to go into another country under false facts. If we were occupied by another country and your home, and your family died because of it you would sing a differant tune.

I beleive due to your lack of experience you are more so persuaded by the party politics and the news media. You may not agree with me, but it is human nature. Perhaps when you experience it by going abroad you would open your eyes.

The media has a right to point out all the bad...what good is in war?

Christinewjc said...

Mayada,

Please cite your source regarding the amount of Iraqis killed by U.S. forces. I have a feeling that they are tremendously inaccurate. Plus, are you separating the amount of terrorists/insurgents/loyalists to Saddam's brutal regime from tragic and unfortunate civilian deaths in that data?

War is not "good." I didn't say that it is good. However, sometimes it is necessary. Do you know anything about the Holocaust Mayada?

What I said (if you read the link) was that eventually, history will show whether the military action taken in Iraq was good strategy in the war on terrorism, or, a case of unintended consequences.

You have the opinion that I have a "lack of experience." There you go again...judging me when you don't know anything about me.

Tell me, did you even go over to the website links I had provided? My guess is a big fat "no."

I suspect that it is you, my dear, who is being hopelessly persuaded by party politics and the liberal news media that you watch on T.V. Have you ever listened to conservative talk radio? I doubt it. That is where you would get more accurate analyses of the news happening around the world.

My point about the media "pointing out the bad" is the fact that it is BIASED reporting! They don't cover THE TRUTH. They don't cover THE GOOD THAT IS HAPPENING IN IRAQ. Ever since the surge has been a success, liberals have shut up (finally) and stopped the constant Bush bashing.

I don't agree with everything that the Bush administration has done. I don't agree with the "Road Map for Peace" where Israel is being forced to give up land to Palestinians who wish to destroy them. BTW, Saddam's regime helped finance suicide bombers going into Israel. You can add thousands of Israeli deaths to his murderous regime.

I don't agree with the administrations refusal to finish building the border fence between the U.S. and Mexican border to stop illegal immigration - which has wrecked havoc upon my state. The illegal drug trade, crimes committed by illegals and vehicular manslaughter done by them driving our freeways affects so many lives and kills more people than anyone can even realize.

You keep mentioning the intelligence error (that many Dems believed and agreed with re: WMD's. The fact is that the weapons could have been moved to Syria prior to our military entering Iraq. To rehash old news is pointless. The fact is, we are there in Iraq now, defeating the terrorists (written documents recently found and translated show that Al Qaida even admits their defeat at the hands of our brave soldiers and coalition forces) and we should stay there until the Iraqis are equipped to defend their own country themselves.

FYI, we still have military presence in different areas of the world where prior battles had been fought and won. We are there at the request of those countries!

Going "abroad" is not necessary. The internet has changed how we gain our information. Perhaps you should search out these matters via the net for yourself. You seem to have swallowed the socialistic, liberal, hate Bush and America first Kool-Aid that the left is feeding you daily. Come out of YOUR comfort zone and see reality...please!
