News Roundup 2/2/07

Sometimes, I'm just led to a certain blog on different days. I realized that I hadn't visited Michelle Malkin's yesterday, so I made her site one of the first on my "to visit" list today. As usual, there are lots of posts waiting to be read. But the one that caught my eye and earned my "first click of the afternoon" actually had been posted over at HotAir. Imam prays to stop oppression and occupation at DNC MEETING!

HT: Hot Air

Oh!

My!!

GOSH!!!

Go click on the video! Many great quips and comments there, too. A few of the best were:

I knew the democrats would embrace religion. Just not this one.

This is going to make a great RNC ad in about 12 months.

REALLY!!

The Imam's identity:

I believe it’s Imam Husham Al-Husainy. He’s a Shia cleric from Dearborn.
Boy, Dems sure love them Hussein’s don’t they?

I love the democrats. They keep stepping in it. Who wrote the agenda for this meeting, Biden or Kerry?
This is going to be a fun year.

"Fun" comments aside, there is reason to be concerned...

“oppression and occupation” very typical words with all the dems and it just goes to show where their heads are at. Amazing, the play book of the extremists working very well with the left. GOD BLESS our country and it’s future if this is what we have to look forward too. Where is common sense gone in the minds of those people??

Isn’t it a bit scary how the islamafascists and the left sound sooo much alike way too often?

Jihad Watch says Yahya Hendi gave the 2004 benediction… and previously had this to say;

Whoever calls the people (and/or himself) to the following and obedience of another law other than the shari’a is a disbeliever and a mushrik.

The scholars of Usool-ul-Fiqh have all agreed on the axiom that “None has the right to legislate but Allah.”
That would rule out human documents like, say, the U.S. Constitution, wouldn’t it?

DNC’s Imam Testified for Sami al-Arian

HT: LGF

That Imam testified for Sami al-Arian? The one who was convicted??

Now THAT'S SCARY!!!!

*******

Jihad Watch has a transcript of the Imam's prayer. More importantly, there is a not-to-be-missed explanation by the classic Qur'anic commentator Ibn Kathir. He explains:

Allah asserted that the two paths He described here are both misguided when He repeated the negation `not'. These two paths are the paths of the Christians and Jews, a fact that the believer should beware of so that he avoids them. The path of the believers is knowledge of the truth and abiding by it. In comparison, the Jews abandoned practicing the religion, while the Christians lost the true knowledge. This is why `anger' descended upon the Jews, while being described as `led astray' is more appropriate of the Christians. Those who know, but avoid implementing the truth, deserve the anger, unlike those who are ignorant. The Christians want to seek the true knowledge, but are unable to find it because they did not seek it from its proper resources.

This is why they were led astray. We should also mention that both the Christians and the Jews have earned the anger and are led astray, but the anger is one of the attributes more particular of the Jews.

Robert's comments are very poignant:

It is interesting to see the Democrats standing with heads bowed piously while the Imam Husham Al-Husainy prays, in veiled terms to be sure, for their conversion to Islam, and oh yes, for the destruction of Israel ("And help us to stop the war and violence, and oppression and occupation").

Wow!
