Prayer Request
It is 12:30 p.m. PT and I just got home from the hospital. Perhaps no one will read this until tomorrow morning. But I would like to ask each of you to pray for my husband, Charlie.
We were at a co-worker's retirement dinner this evening, enjoying the conversations and having a great time with friends. After eating a delicious dinner, Charlie appeared quite tired. I was thinking that we should leave right after desert. Didn't make it that long. Suddenly, he suffered from chest pains, broke out into a cold sweat and became incoherent.
The paramedics came immediately...I was amazed. They treated him on the scene and then off we went to the hospital. I sat up in the front seat and teared up during the ride. Charlie must have sensed that I was worried and he called to me from the back of the ambulance to say he was alright!
That's my love...more worried about me than himself! He's my prince and beloved...
At the emergency room, he received additional treatment, a chest ex-ray and had blood drawn. He is resting comfortably, but they need to take more blood overnight and monitor his vitals. He will be seeing a cardiologist in the morning.
They don't think it was a heart attack; but it is still a mystery.
Thank you, in advance, for your prayers.
Trusting in the Lord.
Your friend in Christ,
Christine

I am praying for you and Charlie, Christine and the kids too. When God allows the enemy to touch a loved one it changes our perspective quickly. You are loved in Jerusalem. (ss)
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Charlie and your family, Christine.
"Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strengthy, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:30-31 (my favorite, actually)
We'll say a prayer for your husband! Keep us posted, Christine.
God bless!
My best wishes to you and your husband Christine.

Just checking back to see if there are any updates. I pray all is going well.
Thank you all so much! I really appreciate your thoughts, good wishes, and especially the prayers that you are sending up on behalf of my husband.
Yesterday was quite hectic and once I got home I just went to bed!
Charlie is doing well and is coming home today! I am leaving in a few minutes. Just wanted to say how grateful I am to all of you for your concern and prayers.
I will eventually have a more detailed update. For now, the cardiologist said that he had a "cardio-vascular reaction." To what? He doesn't know! A heart attack hasn't been completely ruled out, but it is doubtful. It could have been brought on by stress (likely) and/or an allergic reaction to something he ate. All the tests that have been done haven't given us any negative clues about what caused it...yet.
Charlie was encouraged to walk around the the 6th floor yesterday, so that was definitely a good sign.
We will meet with the doctor again today for a final evaluation and instructions for care at home.
The episode that Charlie endured on Thursday night was brief; then it only happened one more time when he sat up in the emergency room for a chest ex-ray. Once he laid down again, it was gone and hasn't happened since.
Charlie described it as like someone was putting a huge amount of pressure on his chest.
There are more details to share, but that will come later. Right now, I'm so glad he's coming home! He can't wait to come home to sleep!!
I have so much to share about how the hand of God moved through the people around us during this scary time. It was amazing! His presence was so obvious to me, as well as many of the people at the dinner who were praying and assisting him through this crisis.
The power of prayer is bigger than any of us, or any "thing" that we may face. The power of God is so awesome and real. He cares so deeply for our every plight...and need.
Love & thanks,
Christine
This is great news... my prayers remain with Charlie, you and your family. Keep us posted!
Hi Christine - just stopped here for a visit and wow. Know we are praying for Charlie and your family and will lift him up tomorrow during prayer at church.
I know how scared you must have been, but also Charlie - not really knowing what's going on yet.
Our love and prayers to you all -
Stephen, Irene & the kiddos
Hi Christine -
Just popped in to check out your blog. We'll be praying for your husband. We know about late-night trips to the ER.
Psalm 118:17 is a particular blessing to us.
Love,
Anna
