News Roundup 4/4/07

A. The blogs are abuzz with pictures and reports about Nancy Pelosi's actions in Syria. Some of the best are:

1. Pelosi Forgetful in Syria. She's not Condoleeza Rice...that's for sure!

2. She must be so proud of this accomplishment! Terrorists endose Pelosi's 'good policy of dialogue.' Yeah...right! Look at the damage done:

Abu Abdullah, a leader of Hamas' military wing in the Gaza Strip, said the willingness by some lawmakers to talk with Syria "is proof of the importance of the resistance against the U.S."

"The Americans know and understand they are losing in Iraq and the Middle East and that their only chance to survive is to reduce hostilities with Arab countries and with Islam. Islam is the new giant of the world."

3. So...what is an ultra liberal woman's liberation type person like Pelosi doing with a hijab on while walking the streets of Syria? Apparently it's one thing to wear one while in a mosque, however, Syrian Reformists say the damage done from Pelosi's visit will be felt for years to come. Good show...Nancy.

4. Oh and, last but certainly not least are the "triple R blogs" (meaning rabid, ranting, and raving) liberal left blog reactions to LGF's posting of Pelosi in a hijab. Lots of links to click through from LGF's blog (if you want to, that is). Just remember to prepare and shield your hearts and minds from the inevitable hate-spewing-vomit verbiage coming from those triple R's!! Whew!! The ranters obviously don't get the point.

LGF sums up the huge difference between Pelosi's inadvisable visit and the so-called "examples" of other American women wearing head scarves:

...With a picture of Jackie Kennedy Onassis wearing a scarf.

In a church in the United States. Not a mosque in Syria.

You know, Syria? The puppet government of the Islamic Republic of Iran? Supporters of Hizballah? Insane hatred of Israel and America? The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a TV series? Nazi fugitives harbored for years? Am I ringing any bells?

B. The good news of the day is word of the release of the British sailors and marines (who were illegally kidnapped in the first place). Let's hope and pray that Iran's sappy propaganda stunt doesn't ever happen again.

Update @ 2:54 p.m. PT

And then there is this! Yet another group of legislators who don't want the people to vote on critical issues. Indiana Voters Denied Chance to Protect Marriage".

Excerpt:
Mona Passignano, state issues analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said the committee members who voted against the amendment need to listen to the people.

"The fact that they felt the need to sacrifice the rights of voters in this instance certainly doesn't speak very highly for the five members," she said, "who apparently felt like the people of Indiana did not deserve the right to vote on this critical issue."

Whatever happened to the mantra of the Democrats that we should let "every vote count"? Apparently, that excludes the military absentee ballots in the 2000 and 2004 elections and any topic where the Dems KNOW THEY WILL LOSE!

This ranks as "the most ridiculous item of the day":

N.J. Drill Casts Christians as Terrorists"

Excerpt:

"This is an egregious violation and discrimination against Christians," said Len Deo, president of the New Jersey Family Policy Council. "Christians are not the ones that are terrorizing the world. For a school to even portray Christians in that mode, it's just an egregious example of the bias of the administrators in these schools."

Candi Cushman, education analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said the high school's mock drill was also a mockery of Christians.

"At the very least it was poor judgment, and at the worst, it was flagrant discrimination against socially conservative, Judeo-Christian citizens," she said. "It's ironic — and frightening — that even as high schools across the nation are holding 'diversity' and 'tolerance' programs that exalt homosexuality, they overlook such blatant discrimination against Christian students."

Update 4/5/07

Check out Doug Powers April 4th post "Hostage Release: Gift to U.K., or Good Old Fashioned CYA?"

Doug writes:
"As the laughable praisings continue to be heaped upon the historically humanitarian Iran for the release of the British hostages, the real story begins to emerge."

It will be interesting to see how the MSM spins the story...

So, the hostages were released (I'm sorry, "offered as a gift") just as the USS Nimitz was headed to the Gulf? Sure does seem like interesting timing, doesn't it?

Christinewjc said...

Hmmm....sure does!

Great point Doug!

Iran's slimeball Imadingbatjob tried to make himself look good. But when you know the truth...he's more like a little ugly cockroach scurrying back into the shadows of his little dark corner! What a creep!

Hey Doug, did you get my email? I sent it via the WorldNetDaily site. I couldn't locate your regular email so send me a reply when you get a chance! Thanks!

P.S. Do you ever watch Glenn Beck? Most of his show tonight was about this whole situation. It was excellent! I think you can see a recap at his website.

You are absolutely right Doug!

Good call!

USS Nimitz Forced Iran's Decision

We know who really runs the Iran government...the mullahs! We got 'em running scared!

I feel bad for the Iranian people. Between Mahmoud Imadingbatjob and the Ayatollah Ali Khall me a neinny maniacs, they have the worst leadership in the world. Well, maybe the second worst. Kim Jong Il is even worse.

I didn't get the email through WND... I think there's been a little problem with that forwarding address.

Send to doug@dougpowers.com
