Obama's Euro Group-Think Tour

There are so many great articles and blog posts about Obama's Magical Non-Mystery European Tour that it is difficult to pick just a few to share. So far, I have found three, in particular, that caught my eye and certainly held my attention.

When writer J.D. Longstreet asks, "Will Obama's European Tour Backfire on him?" - I feel led to personally respond to that title question. My answer is I CERTAINLY HOPE SO!

Longstreet:

Those of us who live out here in the real America, in the so-called 'fly-over' country hold very little love for, or admiration of, the European nations. Many of us come from families that fled the European shores to get to America. Unlike the many on the political left we do not look to Europe for leadership in anything, especially not politics.

I may live in California, but my Christian heart is closer to the morals and values of that so-called 'fly-over' country, and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Next, we have a link from that article to Alan Carumba's blog post that's titled, Warning Signs: Obama the Intellectual. Be sure to read the entire post!

Mr. Carumba begins with this sobering thought:

Anyone who has ever studied history knows that intellectuals have been the cause of more misery in the modern world than any other group.

Excerpt:

So now the nation is being asked to elect a classic intellectual, Barack Hussein Obama, to lead us and, typically, he has no idea about the lives of ordinary Americans holding jobs, raising families, and trying to survive the idiocy of several previous administrations that have left the nation hostage to foreign oil and locked in battle with the worst elements of resurgent Islam.

I personally take some comfort that John McCain finished far down in the bottom half of his class at Annapolis. Smart enough to graduate, smart enough to fly fighter jets, smart enough to rise in the Navy’s command structure and tough enough to survive five years of torture by his North Vietnamese captors. Despite his differences with his own political party and inclined toward the element that greases any government action, compromise, McCain offers the capabilities and character that suggests an understanding of human nature.

Compare this with Barack Obama whose interpretation of the 9/11 attack on America was due to “a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers.” If Obama took the time to learn why Osama led the attack, he would have discovered that in 1998 he was a leader in the World Islamic Front for Combat Against the Jews and Crusaders. Since the Koran repeatedly commands attacking unbelievers and killing apostates to Islam, Obama has demonstrated extraordinary ignorance and foolishness.

Indeed, Obama attributed the attack and its lack of empathy to feelings that grow “out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.” Bin Laden is a university graduate with a degree in engineering. He comes from one of the wealthiest families in Saudi Arabia. His close associate, Ayman El Zawahiri is a doctor of medicine. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who planned the attack is a graduate of the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University with a degree in engineering. Mohammed Atta who flew one of the airliners into the World Trade Center was a graduate of Cairo University, an architect. They were neither poverty-stricken, nor ignorant.

They are or were intellectuals who took great pleasure in destroying the lives of 3,000 Americans and bringing down two great skyscrapers in New York and destroying a big chunk of the Pentagon.

In a similar fashion, Obama expressed the view that Americans in “small towns in Pennsylvania and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest” are guided by feelings of bitterness. “They cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

In short, Obama hasn’t a clue about ordinary Americans who go to church, may enjoy hunting or the concept of self-defense, and are angry with a government that has done nothing to stem the flow of illegal immigrants who will deny jobs to Americans and drive down their wages in the process. Americans are not anti-trade. They buy stuff from China and everywhere else in the world if the price is right.

Obama’s stint as a community organizer managed mostly to make a number of Chicago developers wealthy without improving the lives of those he was supposedly trying to help. He got himself elected to the Illinois legislature where he was reluctant to vote much of the time and then to the U.S. Senate where he has served less than half of his first term in office, having devoted himself solely to getting elected the next President of the United States. His attendance record in the Senate is worse than a joke. It is an offense to those who elected him.

He is, in a word, clueless.

This is a common characteristic of intellectuals who are convinced they know how everyone else should live their lives and convinced that only an all-powerful central government can and should determine the content of those lives.

A commenter named "Justin" summed it up this way:

Modern day liberalism is definitely a very scary "group think" that frowns upon conservative "street smarts."

Of course, Big Dog's Weblog had the best blog title - The Fuhrer Speaks in Germany.

One commenter named Fritzkatz over at Digg contributed a hilarious quip:

"Ich bin ein Appeaser!"

Despite the fun and laughs that we all have been enjoying about the craziness surrounding Obama's candidacy, I still must admit the fact that I am one of the "head shakers" (as described in Longstreet's article) who cannot believe that this man is running for president!

Longstreet:

Look, you may not like it but the fact is, most Americans who consume the daily tripe, hailed as news, and spoon fed to us by the mainstream media in this country, shake their heads in astonishment and wonder just how stupid the media must think we are. We KNOW what the domestic press is doing as they cover the Obama European photo-op as the morning dew covers a lovely green pasture. The point is, only those who wish to be impressed by the current demonstrations of European support for Obama will be. The remainder of us will grin, shake our heads, and get on about our business. We won't be the least bit impressed.

Yep...

Just more proof that the Obamessiah Kool-Aid drinkers of Hussein's campaign have no class, no sensitivity towards a holy site, no shame and will do any corrupt thing that they can think of to push this moron towards the presidency.

Obama Campaigned at Western Wall

This is despicable - beyond belief - people!

Have you seen the latest "both ways Barack" commercial? It's highly entertaining, as well as very accurate in it's message. Obama is even worse than a flip flopper!

One of the latest examples has to be his "both ways" comments regarding the division/non-division of Jerusalem.

See Joel Rosenberg's blog post: Obama Backs Away From Pledge FOR AN "UNDIVIDED" JERUSALEM: Calls his own AIPAC speech a "mistake"

FORGET THE "AUDACITY OF HOPE" BOOK HE WROTE...THE SCOPE OF OBAMA'S RELENTLESS, ARROGANT AND EGOTISTICAL AUDACITY IS ON DISPLAY FOR ALL TO SEE. HIS "BOTH WAYS" MENTAL DISORDER IS ENOUGH TO MAKE ANYONE CRINGE!!

NOBAMA president...the AUDACITY OF NOPE Campaign continues at Talk Wisdom!

This article link deserves to be placed on the front page as well. HT and thanks to blogger sh007r for sharing the link in the comment section!

Gerard Baker's hilarious satire article on Obama-mania. Really makes the MSM (and Obamabots) look hopelessly foolish in their messiah-like mindless adulation of this man. It's a must read! Great comments too.

This is GREAT, found it on Michelle Malkins site;
here's a little bit...
"And it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow. "

READ IT ALL.

Heh heh...odd weed and a little blow... That's hilarious!

It is so gratifying to read that some writers in the UK are not fooled by the Obamabots and the MSM's blue-pill Matrix mania!

Those still with Obama and enthralled by him have swallowed the "blue pill." As Morpheus so famously stated in the movie, The Matrix, "You [they]take the blue pill and the story ends. You [they] awake in your [their] beds and believe whatever they want to believe."

I'll stay on the "red pill" side of reality. I have already seen "how deep the rabbit-hole goes" in ObamaLand.

Here are some updates that I have now added to the front page:

Christine, I'm just waiting for the final vote in November. Hopefully, most Americans will see through all of this hype and nonsense!

Although I do believe both McClain and Obama are clueless regarding the poor and middle-class Americans, I just see McClain as more believable.

Obama just comes off as pure rhetoric and I just don't see anything real about him when it comes to politics.

Hi Carlotta,

I think that many Americans are already seeing the bias of the MSM in their reporting of Obama - as well as the lack of positive reporting of John McCain. Last I heard, 59% in a survey said they see how in the tank the MSM is for Obama.

I think that you are correct that two rich men probably don't have the knowledge that they need to have about the poor and middle-class Americans. However, Obama wants government (and our tax dollars) to pay for "programs," rather giving tax breaks so that more Americans can donate. This allows the churches and charities (which is what they are designed for) to help the poor.

I'm concerned that this new mortgage bill which looks like it will pass Congress and be signed by President Bush will turn out to be a big bailout for people who probably shouldn't have had such mortgages in the first place - simply because they really didn't have the income necessary to support it. It makes me think of a "nanny-state" solution.

However, if the bill is something that will ASSIST these people to get lower-rate mortgage help, then it might be a good thing. I haven't read up on it enough to give a final opinion about it.

It just bothers me when our government has to come to the rescue of fallen companies, banks, and mortgage lenders. What's up with that?

I keep hearing commercials about law offices taking on the IRS and allowing people who owe back taxes to get away with just paying 1/3 of what they owe. My husband and I have paid 100% of what we have owed every year for almost 25 years since we've been married. It doesn't seem fair.

I have sympathy for those who are struggling...don't get me wrong. But those who spent money way beyond their means by blowing it on luxuries, cars, casino trips, lottery tickets etc. and then find themselves in financial trouble should not have 2/3rds of their tax burden forgiven. Whatever happened to "everybody pulling his/her own weight" in this nation?

The charities are there to help those in desperate need. There are "rescue" type industries (like the one Montel Williams touts in commercials) for those who can't pay for their meds. There are dozens, probably hundreds of local programs to help the poor and middle class (and/or the formerly drug or alcohol addicted) to get back on their feet and get jobs.

I don't think that federal government regulation of such endeavors is a good thing. Of course, this is all just my own opinion.

My parents worked their butts off to raise three children. My dad worked two jobs for most of his life. My mom worked part time when we were young, and full time when we were older. They never took a dime of money from the government. We were considered middle class.

My husband actually came from a poor, low-middle class family. He has worked his way up the corporate ladder and is successful. He has put a lot of blood, sweat, tears, sacrifice and time to get where he is. Yet, if Obama becomes president, the tax rate increase will probably force my husband to work several more years before he can retire. Is that fair? No. Of course not!

We would rather give extra money directly to charities (which we have over the Bush years because of the tax cuts!!!) than to trust it in the hands of politicians in Washington. The pork-barrel spending and "special interest groups" that get our tax money sickens me no end. When I hear about things like the "bridge to nowhere" and the "big dig" stupidly using up 14.6 billion of tax dollars - I just have to wonder how many other incidents there are of wasteful spending going on.

Sorry...I kinda went on a tangent there.

I just don't think that big government is the answer to our nation's concerns and problems. I also have a health care story to share with you via email. The socialized health care that Obama wants to spread throughout our nation would be disasterous.

I agree that McCain is more believable. I am gearing up to post more about his vision for our country vs. Obama's in a blog post soon. I really hope that readers here will take it to heart when they see the stark differences between these two presidential candidates.

I thought that the differences in the 2000 and 2004 elections were huge. But now, with the most liberal senator in Congress - Obama - running for president, the gap between liberal and conservative in this election cycle is even more stark and pronounced than I had ever imagined it could be!
