Most surprising to me was one fellow Christian who decided to chastise me (and rant against the "rich" Republicans) for sharing the Obama ring story via email to him.
Look...this blog is always a "Talk Wisdom Reports - You Decide" kind of blog. I report stories that are backed up by hard evidence - even though some people don't want to face the truth.
So be it!
Each Christian has to answer to God for what he or she does while here on this earth.
There are sins of commission, and sins of omission.
In my mind, staying home on Election Day, 2012, is a sin of omission.
Because living in the freedoms we currently enjoy here in America are most likely at stake in this upcoming election. We have NEVER had such a criminal, radical, LYING, anti-Constitution, anti-First Amendment government (like we do now) in the history of our nation!
Some people will choose to remain with their heads in the sand and like the monkeys who cover their eyes, ears, and mouths (so that they can claim that they see no evil, hear no evil, nor speak no evil) doesn't mean that they would not be responsible for just letting it all happen by refusing to take advantage of our voting freedoms this year. More Christian voters on November 6th will help counter the usual corruption and voter fraud that will happen once again because of nefarious individuals working in and for the government. Don't you see, this is our chance to do something about it!
Sometimes, as Christians we need to be compelled to TELL OTHERS THE TRUTH about the evils going on in this nation and around the world. If we don't speak up now, the right to do so in the future may be eliminated.
But don't just take my word for it...listen and learn from Chuck Norris and his wife. Listen to the words of warning from one of our greatest presidents - Ronald Reagan - in the following brief video at this link. [I tried to embed it but it wouldn't work.]
WND: Chuck Norris Video [Scroll down at page]
My Christian brothers and sisters, DO NOT let the naysayers, blasphemers, haters of Christ, haters of the Bible, and haters of God Himself put a muzzle on our words of warning on ANY SUBJECT. But especially, don't let them keep us from warning voters about the current evil badministration that has wreaked havoc upon our beloved nation because of the current puppet resident in the White House, the "powers that be" puppeteers and their ilk, as well as and the irresponsible followers who have fallen for their horrible agenda! As Rep. Paul Ryan recently quipped on the campaign trail, "[Obama's] 'hope and change' has turned into attack and blame."
These are dangerous people.
Just because the media of mass deception won't tell you the truth about them doesn't mean that you should accept the status quo.
PLEASE RESEARCH for yourselves and EDUCATE YOURSELVES via the irrefutable EVIDENCE that others have uncovered!!
DON'T BE FOOLED AGAIN!!
In an article at WND, Dr. James Dobson asks the question, How Can A Single Christian Stay At Home On Election Day?
Vote, and take a friend with you, for the sake of our children.
That’s the plea from Dr. James Dobson of FamilyTalk radio broadcasts.
In today’s Family Talk newsletter, he follows up on the request from martial arts champion, television and movie actor Chuck Norris, who with his wife, Gena, recently released a public service announcement asking Christians to vote.
They noted that there were some 30 million Christians who did not vote in the 2008 election, and Barack Obama won by 10 million, bringing into the White House his plans for open homosexuality in the U.S. armed forces, nearly unlimited abortion on demand and other policies.
Dr. Dobson, who does not advocate for or against individual candidates in this year’s election as a representative of FamilyTalk, noted the situation in which the nation finds itself approaching the 2012 election.
“Given the state of the world and the decline of our country, how can a single Christian stay at home on Election Day? The stakes are simply too high,” Dr. Dobson wrote to constituents.
- The nation “is … in a moral and spiritual freefall.”
- “Religion liberty … is under assault like never before.”
- “Christians are being required to pay for abortions through their health insurance.”
- “Twenty-one countries [in the Middle East] are in turmoil.”
- “Israel’s very existence continues to be threatened.”
- “Iranian analyst Alireza Forghani boasted … [Jerusalem] will soon become a mass ‘graveyard.’”
“If you’re among those eligible voters who haven’t determined whether you’ll even bother to make your voices heard on Election Day, I want to urge you – in the strongest possible terms – to rethink your position!” he said.
“In a sense, every election is a ‘crossroads,’ especially when it involves the selection of national leadership. Whether directly or indirectly, our president, congressmen and senators will establish life and death policies on our behalf and our children. These decisions will have an impact long after our elected officials have left office. In the following quadrennial, for example, the next president may make at least two appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court. If confirmed, each of them will be appointed for life. Given the unprecedented power of the court today, the selection of those justices could have a profound effect on the country for decades,” he said.
He said issues even as fundamental as whether the Constitution of the United States will be protected are being decided.
“May I suggest that you not only vote on November 6th, but that you try to take one or more people to the polls with you?” he continued.
But most importantly, he said, “your trip to the polls must be preceded by a time of earnest prayer. Pray that the Lord would grant you wisdom as you prepare to cast your ballot. Pray that His will would be accomplished in the election and that the leaders of His choosing would win their respective races. And pray that those who hold positions of authority over us, both now and after the election, would hear the voice of God and seek His face as they embrace the numerous responsibilities placed upon them.”
The Bible is filled with warnings to "flee from evil." Look at the verses where Jesus discusses the negative effects of evil:
|Jhn 3:19||"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.|
|Jhn 3:20||"For everyone practicing evil hates
the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be
|Jhn 5:29||"and come forth--those who have done good, to the resurrection
of life, and those who have done evil, to the
resurrection of condemnation.|
|Jhn 7:7||"The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify
of it that its works are evil.|
|Jhn 17:15||"I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but
that You should keep them from the evil one.|
Soon after publishing this post, I noticed that Bill Muehlenberg of Culture Watch had a similar theme in his latest post!! He states it all in a much more articulate manner than I did here, so be sure to read it all!
It happens far too often, and it really is reprehensible. But I get Christians telling me all the time they don’t like politics, they don’t like hearing about politics, they want nothing to do with politics, and so on. But given that God is the creator of political life – as well as social life, cultural life, intellectual life, etc. – all these irresponsible Christians are doing is shaking their fists at God.Continue reading at Culture Watch: Christian Culpability and Political Responsibility.
God is deeply interested in political affairs – indeed, he is interested in all affairs. If a person calls himself a Christian, then he must take the Lordship of Christ seriously, and that must extend to every area of life. One cannot call oneself a true follower of Christ if they think their faith is just meant to be a privatised affair which has no impact whatsoever on the surrounding culture.
Simply obeying the command of Jesus to be salt and light means that we must let our faith have a social and political impact. Jesus warned us about hiding our light under a bushel, and letting our salt lose its savour. Yet that is exactly what disobedient Christians are doing when they refuse to take their social and political responsibilities seriously.
Christians who choose to rebel and just opt out of this world are being grossly irresponsible, and will one day stand before their Lord to explain their culpability here. They will have to explain why they rejected the clear commands of Christ in this regard.
Aside from all the biblical exhortations for us to be aware of what is going on in our world, and to be world transformers, there are many practical reasons as well. Politics impact all of us, and there is a world of difference between good government and bad government.
Much is at stake, and we pay far too high a price if we try to bury our heads in the sand and pretend political life is irrelevant or somehow nonspiritual. We all must work for godly government, since “righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
P.S. I LOVE how God works in my life! He knew I needed some help with this topic and it was right there - at Bill's blog - waiting for me to link to it! :-)
