Breaking News - Good, For a Change!

Father of Slain Marine Wins Case Against Foul Phelps Family

When decisions like this come down, it reassures me that at least some semblance of our system of justice is still intact!

There seems to be a controversy over whether this horrible cult is considered to be "right-wing" or "left-wing." Heard Bill O'Reilly tell the nation on his show the other day that apparently, Fred Phelps (the lunatic founder and father of these sickos) is a registered Democrat! The moonbats are not going to like to hear that!!

Whatever their political affiliation, the fact that this family is so far out there and doesn't believe that salvation is possible for repentant homosexual behavior, just shows how far from God's Word and Truth in the Bible they really are!

Found this interesting article:

Fred Phelps, Homosexual Activists Both Wrong

Excerpt:

Fred Phelps insists that individuals who engage in homosexual behavior are beyond hope or redemption, a false doctrine that -- while at odds with the true Christian gospel of repentance and forgiveness available to all -- is much closer to that of homosexual activists who echo Phelps' insistence that individuals involved in homosexual behavior have no hope of abandoning that lifestyle.

We strongly disagree. The false gospel preached by Fred Phelps and the Triangle Foundation is proven wrong by the life experience of individuals who through faith, with God's help, have abandoned homosexual activity and now live their lives in normal loving relationships between a man and a woman, many married with children. In four Michigan cities, counseling services are available staffed by individuals who themselves abandoned homosexual behavior and are compassionately committed to giving others hope and help in doing so.

In a former blogpost titled Many Will Be Deceived, I pointed out the same fact about the Phelps cult.

Excerpt:

A few nights ago, I witnessed a verbal exchange between Sean Hannity, Alan Colmes, and a member of the Westboro "Baptist" church (Fred Phelps fame). What a riveting segment. That group is a cult that has, unfortunately, been used to discredit true Christian ministries that seek to help people who are unhappy and struggling with same-sex attraction find freedom in Jesus Christ.

This group goes even further down to the pit of Satan. They were picketing at funerals, demonstrating against, and demeaning our brave military heroes who had given their lives in the effort to defeat terrorism and keep our country safe from any additional attacks since the tragedy of 9/11.

This is profoundly ugly. It's totally disgraceful and utterly unChristian to do such a thing. Yet, these people think that they are the "genuine" Christians and all the rest of us are "abominations."

The Bible does not call people abominations. It calls certain acts of sin abominations.

I would like to state one important observation about the Phelps cult member that appeared on Hannity and Colmes. She never once mentioned the power and saving grace that any sinner can be given through repentance and belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

That one fact is what unites Christ's true, universal church (believers, not a denomination or building) despite differing "human traditions" added to individual denominations! This is the crux of the matter. If a church does not teach, "Jesus Christ and him crucified" as the way of salvation, then it is not following what God requires for reconciliation between God and man.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NKJV)
Christ Crucified
2And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the *testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of *human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

I feel bad for that group of 100 people who are under the deception of Satan through Fred Phelps skewed ideology. But this is what happens when people follow a finite man's lead rather than the eternal Son of God, Jesus Christ and His revealed Word, the Bible.

1 Corinthians 2:6 (NKJV)

Spiritual Wisdom
6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. (bold mine)

It was nice to see this Idiot Museum exhibit consisting of deranged and mentally ill sprial-eyed nut-case loons lose this case.

However, I can't imagine how they'll be able to cough up a few million dollars, considering their entire income is derived from a collection plate that's passed among a few dozen complete and total losers.

Dear Susan,

Thanks so much for being salt and light in my life!

Much love,

You got that right Doug!

They have been a thorn in the sides of so many Americans and are an absolute evil Halloween nightmare!

How ironic and apropos that this judgment comes down against that awful group on this very day...Halloween!!

In between running to the door to give out candy tonight, I read through many of the comments over at the LGF Phelps post. I learned a lot of things that I didn't previously know about that loonie group.

Examples:

1. Fred Phelps is running a scam, he and his 'church' (mostly his family members) go out and cause disruptions in order to get the next town to deny him a permit, and then he sues (he and his wife and some of his children are lawyers) for money, or he hopes someone attacks them, and then they sue the police, etc. for not protecting them. The irony here is delicious.
BTW: ol' Fred is a registered Democrat, endorsed Al Gore in 2000, and has praised Fidel Castro, so don't even try to make him look like a conservative.

No wonder the MSM doesn't delve deep into his background.

2. Did you all know Phelps was a big supporter and friend of Al Gore? Yep google both names and look at all the picks of the 2 together. Maybe his buddy Al with gib=ve him some of his money from An Incontient toof...

That's amazing -- I didn't know that he was a Dem. But, that doesn't stop liberals from pointing to Phelps whenever the issue of same-sex marriage comes up. They want to claim (or infer) that anyone who is opposed to same-sex marriage is hateful, uncaring, etc., and Phelps is sometimes used as their favorite right-wing demon to hold up for purposes of demagoguery.

4. Gore Political Ties to "God Hates Fags" Founders Uncovered
Gore and Wife Tipper Headlined Fundraiser at Phelps' Topeka Home; Phelps Family Reportedly Invited to Clinton-Gore Inaugurations in 93 and 97
October 25, 2000

(WASHINGTON) Reports linking Vice President Al Gore with notorious anti-gay activist Fred Phelps, Jr., and the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas were confirmed with the release of photographs showing Gore at a fundraiser at the home of Fred Phelps, Jr., who told the Conservative News Service on October 16 that he served as a Gore delegate on the floor of the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta in 1988.

Gore, who was quoted by the Nashville Tennessean in 1984 saying homosexuality is not "an acceptable alternative that society should affirm" and said in his 1984 U.S. Senate race that he would not accept money from gay rights organizations and that he opposed a "gay bill of rights," reportedly sought the support of the Phelps family in his 1988 presidential campaign, and invited the Phelps' to the Clinton-Gore inaugurations of January 1993 and January 1997.

Off topic: CONGRATULATIONS CHRISTINE!

I just noticed you're a finalist for a Weblog Award in the Best Religious Blog category.

When voting starts I'll help drive a few votes your way from my blog!

Way to go!

I was VERY happy to see that the Phelps verdict exceeds his assets. Aside from the fact that his theology is, at best, flawed, he disrupted the funerals of many fallen men and women. He had no idea whether they were Christian or not, he used their deaths to further his agenda and that's just evil.

I did come across something, totally off topic, that I find even more disturbing. I believe this should be brought to light, and I will be posting about it over the weekend. I hope you'll think about posting this info too...

http://snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.asp

(sorry, you know how I am with links in comments!)

It's about the new movie coming out called The Golden Compass. It's based on a series of children's books written by an atheist. They're about a girl who goes through a series of situations in an effort to assassinate "a senile God." Yes, they are children's books about killing God! I am outraged!

Thanks Doug! I didn't even know I made the finalist list until I read your comment here!

Thank you for offering to send votes my way, too! So kind of you to do that for me at your blog.

I'm humbled, excited and... a bit scared. Now I really need to "do well for the Lord." The pressure is on.

On second thought, I am going to keep in mind what Susan Smith said over in the nominations thread at Weblogs 2007. She wrote:

Religion is man trying to reach God. Christianity is God reaching man. This blog is not "religious." However, it shows true LIFE in Jesus the Messiah. When we accept the way and understand the truth, then we have the LIFE.

Beautifully stated, Susan! Thank you for your true words of wisdom!

Jesus the Messiah is where my focus has been and where it will always remain.

Hi Jaded,

I don't think that anyone (except the ACLU) is displeased about this verdict. One thing that I noticed both yesterday and today is the fact that there is absolute silence about it over at the liberal Daily Kos site. Isn't that strange? They are one of the largest liberal "community" blogs out there and not a peep about this huge story? Hmmmm....

That "Golden Compass" movie sounds awful and egregiously blasphemous. Thanks for alerting me about it. I will take a look at the Snopes post today.

The latest attacks on God, the Bible, and religious belief (particularly Christianity) seems to be ratcheting up on a daily basis now! With all the "New Atheism" books out there and that vile group "The Rational Response Squad" encouraging people to "blaspheme the Holy Spirit" in YouTube videos; it just doesn't surprise me one bit that a terrible movie like this would be made.

I will be checking your blog this weekend for your post and will link to it.

Yes, great news about the Phelps verdict. When I lived in Littleton, I attended a community memorial for the Columbine tragedy the day after it happenend - Phelps and his cronies were there. I will never be able to describe the disgust I felt about his presence at that event for people in such horrible pain. I have never felt such anger toward another human being in my life. Ridiculous.

Christinewjc said...

They protested the Columbine tragedy? Either I didn't know about that awful fact or I just had forgotten about it. How ugly...and awful!!

Mb, what do you think about the connections being made between the Phelps family and Gore, as well as other far-left liberals and Democrats?

Whenever this loon group was in the news, they were often labeled as "right wing fanatics." Since father fool Fred is a registered Democrat, shouldn't they really be considered left wing lunatics?

Frankly, I was shocked to read about all of these connections on the LGF community blog. But, perhaps I should have been paying closer attention. After all, they are supported by the ACLU ideologues.

Plus, the fact that the liberal "Daily Kos" community blog has said nothing about this makes me wonder about the connections of this phony church and the secular, liberal left loonie end of the political spectrum.

Please note - I'm not saying that all Democrats or liberals are like this. I'm speaking about groups like Moveon.org and Code Pink, etc.
