Soulforce to Challenge Mega-Churches

Over at the NARTH website, there are hundreds of articles that give tremendous information regarding gender identity issues and disorders, the various causes of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality etc.

I have been supporting this organization for several years now and each magazine I receive is chock full of valuable information. Many of the articles deal with scientific statistics that challenge the politically-correct driven APA's attempt to keep their own unscientific status quo of homosexual affirmation alive. At the same time, gay activists continue to demonize and condemn NARTH's valiant efforts to help clients bring their desires and behaviors into harmony with each client's deeply held values.

I have noticed that NARTH has a theology issues section, and I ran across the following article today:

Gay Christian Soulforce Will Challenge Mega-Churches.

Read the article.

Now, pay particular attention to this excerpt from that article:

A delegation of gay families with children will visit each of these churches between Mother's Day and Father's Day weekends. Forty families will be recruited to visit the churches.

Caleb Price, a research analyst with Focus on the Family, warns these churches about Soulforce's tactics: "These churches that have been targeted by Soulforce need to be clear about the real agenda behind these staged actions. It's not for dialogue and greater understanding - it's to tempt them to embrace a false doctrine, which will keep many from the gospel message of hope and transformation for those who are trapped in homosexuality."

One likely goal of the Soulforce campaign against these churches is to provoke an incident that can be used to garner negative publicity for the church and to gain nationwide publicity for Soulforce's efforts. This tactic is part of an overall strategy mapped out years ago by gay activists: portray gays as victims of intolerant bigots.

People, this is a tactic straight (pardon the pun) out of the "After the Ball" playbook. If you are unfamiliar with what I am referring to, please read this post: It's About Manipulation.

That's right. This Soulforce effort is all about manipulation. They are attempting to force Bible believing, Jesus Christ honoring people to, as the Bible says, "exchange the truth for a lie."

Now, contrast all that you have just read with the following interview between Michael Glatze, a former gay activist, and Dr. Joseph Nicolosi of NARTH.

Interview With Michael Glatze: A Former Gay Activist Explains How He Left Homosexuality.

Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments. Comments are being moderated, but civil open dialogue is welcome.

Dear Christine—

This is a very informative post. I have not read the links yet.

I was active in the homosexual “lifestyle” for more than 20 years as a lesbian. Jesus the Messiah delivered me from overt lesbian behavior in 1985 and the Lord delivered me from the identity of a lesbian in 1988. Christ can set us free from any sin.

The truth sets us free on a daily basis. It is not the truth about others that sets me free, it is the truth about me and my sinful nature. We are born again in the spirit, not in the flesh. Our flesh remains the same.

Jesus is building His one Church body as He said He would. What your post describes will be for the glory of God if it happens. The kingdom of God has confrontations every single day and the battle is in our minds and hearts. Will Christians respond in love to “homosexual activists” or will they fight them with weapons of this world. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

God bless you this day, my “little” sister on the West coast. Much love and Shabbat Shalom to you and your beautiful family. (ss)

Dear Susan,

I appreciate it each time you share your story of how Christ set you free from this particular sin. I'm sure that you give so much hope to those who are struggling in such an identity.

Each of our stories of freedom from the bondage of sin (any sin) is unique.

I sincerely hope that you get the chance to read Michael Glatze's story of deliverance through Jesus Christ. He is rapidly becoming a great voice of freedom for those who not only were trapped in the sin of homosexual behavior, but also, as a former gay activist, he can use his testimony to wake up those who have "exchanged the truth for a lie" simply because they have been manipulated to believe that change is not possible through the radical gay agenda.

Charlene Cothran is another wonderful example of how even a former gay magazine editor can be released from the bondage of lesbianism and become a powerful voice for freedom in Jesus Christ.

God bless you Susan. God mightily uses those who are humble and willing to submit to His Will for their lives. You are a perfect example of that reality.

I admire you for who are and how open and candid you continue to be about your deliverance from sin through repentance and believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

I know that whatever direction our Lord God is leading you this day...it will be great. Not because of anything that you have done, but because of Him working mightily in you.

I remember an interview years ago on 60 minutes between Mary Kay Ash (the successful business woman who often talked about her Christian faith at sales force meetings) and Morley Safer.

Morley asked, "Aren't you, in fact using God to sell cosmetics?"

Mary Kay answered, "I hope not. I sincerely hope not. I hope that He is using me, instead."

Powerful words! Wonderful come back! She wasn't going to let Safer "exchange the truth for a lie" when it came to identifying her true motives for sharing her genuine faith with people in the company. She believed in God first, family second, and job third. In that order everything works. Out of that order, it doesn't.

I met that wonderful woman back in 1980 when I became a director with the company. It was part of the becoming a director process (back then) for the DIQ's (directors in qualification) to come to Dallas for a week of training. One tradition while touring her round house in Dallas, Texas was to sit in her huge round bathtub to take photos with the other new directors. I lingered there a bit too long and ended up being last in line to get to shake her hand, briefly talk with her, and get an individual photo with her.

By the time I got up there, the male assistant told the last 3 in line that Mary Kay was so tired and would we mind letting her go and rest. Mary Kay said, "no," and she finished meeting and greeting every single one of us.

I will never forget that moment. She looked me right in the eyes and listened intently to what I wanted to tell her. It was as if I was the only one in the room. Actually, by then it was just her, me, and the assistant that wanted to scurry me away! Heh heh

That woman was a genuine Christian believer who created a wonderful company for women. I got the chance to thank her, in person, for that accomplishment and for giving women such a tremendous opportunity. I can't even tell you how many times the extra income from my business came in handy in my life.

Mary Kay died several years ago and is now with the Lord.

Why did I tell you all of that? I don't really know. It just kind of popped into my head. It's not directly related to this post, but I typed it all out anyway! Ha!

Love to you Susan!
God bless,
Christine

Soulforce is an organization that is dedicated to non-violent social change for LGBT borrowing from Gandhi and Dr. King. That you would misrepresent them is no surprise.

It is laughable that you are still quoting from 1990's "After the Ball" to justify your anti-gay bigotry. perhaps after you have established your theocracy in America you can round up all the gay and lesbian people and have us executed as in Leviticus 20:13.

Robbie,

Soulforce may mask their true intentions through their "dedication to non-violent social change for LGBT" mantra. But the truth is that they are attempting to manipulate people away from their convictions and consciousness towards holiness in their lives. They do not want anyone to hold onto their Bible-based worldview of truth and deeply held religious beliefs about the sin of homosexuality.

How tolerant is that? Not tolerant at all. Soulforce's tolerance is a one-way street; it is either their way or no way.

The "visits" to several Christian Universities last year had mixed reviews. Soulforce's written condemnation directed at some colleges (i.e. those that had the Constitutionally protected freedom of association right to decide not to allow them to come on campus in order to indoctrinate the student body towards acceptance of homosexual behavior for Christians) after their so-called "non-violent visits" just demonstrates that their lack of tolerance of others points of view is sorely lacking.

Thank you for labeling me as a bigot. Why am I thankful? Because that label, to me, means:

Bible
Is
God's
Only
Truth

P.S. BTW, we ALL deserve to be "executed" because of sin against God. Thank God that He provided a way - the cross of Christ - to be forgiven through repentance (which means confessing and turning away from sin) and believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Much more about Soulforce and their tactics here.

Dear Christine—

I read Michael Glatze’s interview with Dr. Joseph Nicolosi and enjoyed what they both said.

More than a year ago when I was in Jerusalem, I listened to Charlene Cothran’s testimony via the Internet when she first received deliverance from the “lifestyle” and identity of a lesbian. Thank you for including the link to her website. She has some very good information for anyone who is interested in the subject of homosexuality.

Your willingness to be a conduit of truth regarding the sin of homosexuality is appreciated Christine. Your grace and love to all is beautiful to watch as God continues to work in your life while He transforms you from glory to glory molding you and making you into the image of His Son It is His purpose to conform all He has chosen into the likeness of His Son (see ROM 8:29). You are a pristine example of how the Lord works in our lives.

It is a privilege to know you and drink the truth from your blog so often. I was in the parched and dry existence of lesbianism for many years and it is a blessing to see how God is using many believers to set others free from this sin. You are a beautiful woman and you are loved and prayed for by many. (ss)

All I could think of while I was reading this post was this, they may be targeting "Mega-Churches" today, but don't feel safe, they may be targeting your church tomorrow.
