Two Examples: Homosexual Behavior Destroys Lives

There is a lot of ugly information coming out about Obama's horrible choice for "safe school czar" - Kevin Jennings. When you go to the link, have a barf bag ready. It is all quite sickening...to say the least! [WARNING! VERY GRAPHIC CONTENT at the link below! Don't claim I didn't warn you.]

Big Government: Fistgate - Barack Obama's "Safe Schools Czar's 2000 Conference Promoted Fisting to 14-year-olds.

That title alone is enough to turn your stomach! Such depravity...

In a somewhat related matter (additionally despicable topic but thankfully not as graphic), GMPilot continues to make an issue of the church cover-ups regarding homosexuality in the priesthood of the Catholic Church. In a thread at my message board that was started a few years ago (and has 1,152 views), GMPilot recently added the following:

News of the Weak(land)

There’s been no church cover-up news in a while now, but this one comes just in time for Christmas.

From the Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 03 Dec 2009:

Quote:
Weakland shredded copies of sex abuse reports, documents say
By Bruce Vielmetti of the Journal Sentinel
Posted: Dec. 3, 2009

Former Milwaukee Archbishop Rembert Weakland routinely shredded copies of weekly reports about sexual abuse by priests, according to formerly sealed testimony turned over to Milwaukee County's district attorney on Thursday.

In a 1993 deposition, Weakland admitted destroying copies of the reports in his office, according to a partial transcript of the deposition released by Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.

Peter Isely, SNAP's Midwest director, turned over the partial transcript, as well as portions of the logs to which Weakland was referring, to Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm and asked him to review them for any possible criminal violations. Chisholm accepted the records and promised a thorough review.

The 16-year-old deposition documents have come to light during the discovery process in more than a dozen civil fraud lawsuits filed against the Milwaukee archdiocese.

SNAP made the announcements at a news conference Thursday morning outside Chisholm's office at the Milwaukee County courts complex.

Julie Wolf, communications director for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, said Thursday she had not seen the documents SNAP released and could make no comment on them for the archdiocese.

In the deposition, Weakland explains that he got copies of the weekly logs made by vicars in the archdiocese about ongoing problem priests. He said he would read them, then shred them because he didn't want to keep them in his office. He would "try to remember anything that is quite serious and important," and later discuss the matters with the vicar.

SNAP also released portions of logs kept on two abusive priests, Siegfried Widera and Franklyn Becker. Widera killed himself in 2003 after police cornered him in Mexico; Becker has been removed from the priesthood. Isely said not all portions of all vicar logs have been released yet as part of the civil litigation.

Isely said SNAP also will ask Archbishop-designate Jerome Listecki to censure and discipline Weakland and anyone else who may have been involved in covering up sex abuse by clergy. He said Listecki has refused to say whether he would review why the Diocese of La Crosse, where he is bishop, has cleared more clergy accused of abuse than most dioceses.

Listecki told Wisconsin Public Radio that he did not have enough time left in his term as bishop in La Crosse and that, besides, it was the holiday season.

My response:

The difference between playing "church" rather than being of the Church of Christ:

What makes you think that the people involved in such cover-up, corruption, and/or sexual misconduct are genuine followers of Jesus Christ?

"Church" cover-up of the type you are describing is limited to, and representative of, the human side of the equation. The church of Jesus Christ (all genuine saved believers) are on the side of God, His written Word the Bible, and His Living Word - Jesus Christ.

I can tell you with 99% certainty that the "alleged representative of Christ" is more like a MIS-REPRESENTATIVE of Christ. The 1% is there in case the pseudo archbishop repents - which we all must do.

Thoughts, comments and questions from readers on either of these two stories are welcomed in the comment section.

Whenever the subject of homosexuality is brought up here at Talk Wisdom, the discussion often becomes a battle. I know it's difficult, but let's try to keep a civil tone. The Kevin Jennings story is so outrageous that it is hard to believe this evil pervert was chosen by Obama for "safe schools czar."

Big Government.

P.S. GateWay Pundit has two stories on the radical homosexual agenda being pushed upon children in public schools. Jim Hoft's site has been continually attacked since revealing this story. The link isn't working right now, but when it is, be sure to read about the books and the content in them in the post there. Absolutely unbelievable that schools are promoting such gay p0rno books - to children!!

Links are working now. Here are the two links:

I "make an issue" of it because, obviously, IT'S STILL GOING ON. You caan rant about misrepresenting Christ all you wish, but the fact remains that those supposedly best in a position to know better fail to practice it.

Maybe this is whhy you turned your back on it? I know I would have.

You're welcome.

GM, the Bible is filled with verses that state how many will come in the last days professing to know Christ and speak for him. But Jesus knows their hearts and says back, "I never knew you."

Mat 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I turned my back on the Catholic religion because I learned the truth. The gay pederast priest scandal happened long after I was a born again Christian.

You wrote, "you're welcome."

For what?

GM,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "still going on." Certainly not defending child molesters, not even ones with a homosexual bent, but what I read in the the posted literature is a recent report of a case from the 90's and someone who was cornered six years ago, presumably from the same case. Now, if you have some reports of ongoing abuse cases, I certainly hope those are being brought to the attention of proper authorities, regardless of who is the perpetrator.

Sometimes I envy atheists. It seems that everything horrible that they do is just the product of a bad individual, whereas those of religious affiliation have to carry the weight of everyone associated with their denomination caught or accused of horrid behavior. So few people give atheists the credit they deserve for being the biggest mass murderers and torturers in history, simply because they generally avoid affiliation. Ah well...

For giving you something new to rage about, of course!
Not that you really need it; lately your list of Horrible Things has gotten longer and longer...

But, you're welcome anyway. ^_^

What's really scary is that none of Obama's crazy antics, creepy czars or terrible policies seem to bother you.

You have been assimilated.

You are ObamaBORG.

Hi, Mr. Baker!

No, there's probably not such ecclesiastical naughtiness going on right now; and if there is, well...given the church's record of keeping things it doesn't want discussed quiet, we won't learn of any new stuff until at least a generation has passed--just like those that went before.

Didn't Christine send you the memo? When someone of religious affiliation does wrong, the standard response is to say that that person was not a 'true' Christian/Muslim/Buddhist/whatever. That's what I'm always told, anyway.
If you ever learn of mass murders explicitly committed in the name of Copernicus or Darwin, I would like to hear of them. If we get any credit at all, it's probably because we tell people how they can live, rather than how they must, in order not to upset SkyFather.

I understand that envy is part of your outfit's ''Do Not Do'' list. You should not yield to it...not even 'sometimes'.

Gary Baker said...

Hi GM,

"If you ever learn of mass murders explicitly committed in the name of Copernicus or Darwin"

If I did, what would be the point? In the first place, Copernicus and Darwin were Christians. In the second place, neither of them advocated mass murder. Neither did Christ. I could claim to be killing people in the name of Bhudda, but that would hardly mean that Bhuddism advocated or resulted in murder. Atheism, on the other hand, leads to the conclusion that man has neither divinity nor divine station above the animals. A lot easier to kill people or repress them in that frame of mind, as history shows. Stalin and Lenin and Mao had no problem targeting Christians however, seeing them as major impediments to their plans for absolute statist domination. Hitler did the same thing, though he maintained a public facade for political reasons.

Gary Baker said...

"it's probably because we tell people how they can live,"

Yes, you're great at telling Christians and other religious types what's wrong with their societies. Yet for some reason, each time atheists get to run a country of their own it ends up hip deep in mass graves, prisons, secret police, slave labor camps, etc. You set an inspiring example.

I read an article at Townhall.com by Dennis Praeger. He made an excellent point in that for all of the atheist finger wagging, it would be really hard to point out any kind of major contributions. Oh, there have been some atheists with great talents or gifts, the same as everyone else, but look around at who is feeding people, building hospitals, volunteering time, etc. So, I guess while atheists kill and maim and steal as often as anyone else, instead of using the remainder to improve things for others they just sit and criticize. As I said before, an inspiring example.

Gary Baker said...

BTW, GM,

Though Darwin would not have approved, there have been a great many murders in his name. The entire idea behind abortion and forced sterilization that was instituted in the US and Europe was based on the philosophy of improving the breed through evolution. Considering them to have no divine character, scientists had little trouble recommending ways to deal with the poor, the disabled, the Jew, etc.

That's only one published connection. It would be hard to accurately gage how much destruction can truly be laid at the foot of atheist philosophy.

Heterosexuality destroys lives as well--so can we talk about that here too?

You left out the possibility that a Christian could be a backslider in his/her faith.

However, in the case of the archbishop trying to cover up pederasty, that is a deliberate and well thought out sin designed to prevent consequences to his "religious position" (a.k.a. hiding one's sins to prevent loss of income/job/authority with the church denomination etc.). Trouble is, people can be fooled but nothing is hidden from God.

In most cases, (but not all, of course - especially when it involves an evil psychopath who has been delivered over to the dark side) a backslider experiences the guilt of his/her sin and is prompted by the Holy Spirit to confess, repent, and turn back to following the Lord.

Hi Christine,
I'm sure you will agree with me that there are some pretty awful heterosexuals out there--priests that molest little girls, men who molest little girls. There is no question they destroy lives.

Gary Baker said...

Hi Kevin,

You make an excellent point, and the point is that sexual activity outside of God's plan for sex (one man, one woman, sexually monogamous) is damaging in all of its forms. The priest or laymen who molests little girls is just as abhorrent as the priest or layman who molests little boys. (Of course, in some countries, they can get away with child molestation by calling it "marriage", but that's another subject.) Contrary to popular belief, God doesn't tell people that things are "bad" to be a cosmic killjoy. He does so to warn people that they are heading down a road to trouble.

Kevin said...

Hi Gary,
Actually, I didn't make the point you are referring to ("that sexual activity outside of God's plan for sex (one man, one woman, sexually monogamous) is damaging in all of its forms"). Christine brought up that homosexuality kills. I brought up the point that heterosexuality can kill as well. There are plenty of cases where one man and one woman who are married abuse each other, even when they are sexually monogamous.

Gary Baker said...

Hi Kevin,

You make a distinction without a substantive difference. The reason that homosexuality is damaging or deadly is that it is by its very nature an abusive relationship as defined by God. I don't recall Christine or anyone else defending heterosexual relationships that are abusive, but simply making the point that they are not inherently abusive. (The term "abusive" in this case is applied to indicate an abuse of sex, not physical, emotional, etc.) Pointing out that some heterosexual relationships are abusive does nothing to reduce the abusive nature of homosexuality. It simply allows homosexual proponents to wrongly feel better about their own relationships.
