Pays to be A Squeaky Wheel

I wrote an email letter to both the general Fox News comments address as well as to John Gibson of "The Big Story" T.V. news show, complaining that my California wildfire opinion posts were ignored.

I am pleased to report that three of the posts have now appeared in the comment section of "Your Blog."

Sometimes, it pays to be the squeaky wheel...

On a positive note, I found an article that helps explain why several of our friends and co-workers' homes were spared while other communities around them were ravaged by the fires.

Exclusive homes emerge unscathed as fire-protection concept is tested.

Now that the "shelter in place" program has been tested and found to work, it should be utilized for all new home building in southern California.

Unfortunately, southern California is not completely "out of the woods yet" when it comes to these devasting fires.

Continued prayers are needed. The fires are not completely extinguished and are still threatening many homes.

Yesterday, a few rain clouds showed up in the area and huge drops of rain fell, helping to clear the polluted air a bit. However, it was not nearly enough. The conditions did help the firefighters make a lot of progress against the fires still raging in the area. However, the severely dry conditions appear to have returned which worries a lot of officials and residents whose homes are still in the dangerous path of the fires.

Yesterday, the air quality was much better and I didn't feel the need to wear a filter mask. This morning is a completely different story. When I took my dogs outside briefly, the smoky air was, once again, stifling. I now wear my mask whenever I go outside. I am beginning to think that indoor air purifiers might be a good investment.

Speaking of purifying, I think that it is not only the air in California that needs it, but the legislature and Governor who would pass such hideously evil laws designed to indoctrinate even the youngest of public school children into aberrent and sinful sexual behaviors...

I was quite surprised to see this comment posted over at the open Fox News wildfires blog:

I feel for the people and pray for them …
Last week Arnold passes a law doing away with Father and Mother and to promote Sodomy
Sodomy was once illegal in USA. Unbelivers changed the law of our founding fathers.
There are Bible verse that tell us - God will answer when we turn our backs on him.
The LORD GOD who is in control answered this once Christian Nation for rejecting His laws.

Inevitably, people have already been comparing this wildfire disaster with the devastation done in New Orleans and Mississippi due to Hurricane Katrina.

Back when hurricane Katrina happened, I wrote several posts and added links to articles that created a combination of agreement from some Christians, and absolute outrage amongst several other people who read at this blog.

2. The Meaning of Katrina: A Sign?

3. People Asked: "Where Was God?"

4. A Big Lesson for 2005

Is all of this just a coincidence?

My husband found a good link to investigate the air quality in the San Diego area each day:

Christine, I take it God has bad aim, as the gay areas of California, the Castro in San Francisco, West Hollywood in Los Angeles, and Hillcrest in San Diego, weren't touched by this "purifying" fire.

Well hello again Jody.

I thought that you didn't believe in God. Have a change of heart lately?

As far as His "aim" is concerned, consider this: many of the "gay areas" of California that you specifically mentioned have unsaved homosexual people living in them. Have you ever considered the possibility that the fact that they, and their homes were spared from the raging fires and might be considered evidence of God's mercy at work?

"[God] sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:45)

I don't know if you read any of the additional links in this post. If you did, you will recall the thread about the "Southern Decadence" homosexual event that was supposed to start just days after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005. In the comment section, I pointed out that if the hurricane occurred a few days later, many homosexuals visiting New Orleans at the time would most likely have been killed.

Could this have been considered another sign of God's patience and mercy for the lost? You are free to decide for yourself.

As far as a "purifying" fire goes, I think that you missed the true meaning of my post.

This time, it isn't specifically about those who reject the God of the universe and celebrate the idolatry of aberrant homosexual behavior. One day, each and every one will have to answer to God for their rejection of Christ's sacrificial death for their sin.

In this case, it is the sad and evil fact that the government legislators and Governor of California put forth, and signed, such vile sexual indoctrination bills that will immensely harm the hearts, minds, bodies, souls and spirits of young children.

Jesus certainly had strong words for those who would lead children astray:

Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Mar 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Luk 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

One could consider the wildfires as just a coincidence. That is most likely your take on it. Others, might sit up and take notice that our government officials need to wake up and see the future, devastating effects such abominable bills will have upon our children. They need to smell the putrid stench of their evil legislative bills just as we are now, unfortunately, seeing the devastation and smelling the putrid effects of the fire...so to speak.

Or it could be that building homes in a chaparral, whose natural ecology consists of fires and floods isn't a brilliant idea.

Show a little humility, Christine. The wind doesn't blow to cool you off.

Christinewjc said...

Way to ignore my comment and side step the issue, Jody.

O.K. I'll play your little "ecology" game.

But first, why is it that certain homes remained untouched in three "chaparral" areas of San Diego where the builders and community had the sense to create a defensive strategy and program called "shelter in place"?

Play chess much?

Check!

It is a wildfire protection plan that imposes construction and landscaping standards intended to be so stringent – including mandatory interior fire sprinklers and broad swaths of protective landscaping – that homeowners can remain sheltered in their houses if they cannot evacuate...

Where, exactly, is the supernatural element in that, Christine?

Go fish.

Christinewjc said...

Is it supposed to have one Jody?

I was stating an example that when men use common sense and put forth preventative measures, then the tragedy of this wildfire would not be as severe.

There were also areas that didn't have the man-made prevention measures in place, yet were saved from any destruction. What could account for this? Several factors, one of which could be God's hand of protection.

It could have been much, much worse. The death toll was minimal as well.

In Texas holdum style...know when to fold them...

What could account for this?

Off the top of my head?

Wind-patterns...Brush levels / combustible materials present... Chance.

Thor.

Christinewjc said...

Thor?

Now who is putting forth fables and myths?

Of course, you are free to believe in "Thor" if you want. But he certainly lacks any power in this universe.

Remember. In answering the question, "what could account for this?" I wrote:

"Several factors, one of which could be God's hand of protection.

I have seen God's power at work in my own life as well as the lives of many others.

No myths in my faith.

Christine, you have exactly the same quantity and quality of evidence that God's hand was one of the factors as I have that it was Thor's.

Where is Thor's Holy Book?
Did Thor's son come to earth to be the propitiation for man's sins?
Where is the archeological, historical, and fulfilled prophecy evidence of Thor's son's existence?

No Jody. Your "Thor" is no match for the God of the Bible.

Then in terms more apropos to your claim: you have the same degree and kind of evidence for God causing California wildfires do to displeasure with the politics and morality of the state, that Fred Phelps has for God killing American troops in Iraq do to displeasure with the politics and morality with the States.
