How To Spin a Debate!

I plan to discuss the presidential debate in more detail later (hint: McCain knocked it out of the park!). However, since I really enjoyed reading (and laughing!) about the very first blog post reaction to the debate that I chose to click on this morning (over at Newsbusters), I thought that I would encourage everyone here to go over and read it!

Reading New Republic Teas Leaves Determine Debate Winner

The last paragraph made me laugh out loud! I could not believe that any serious journalist would ever write such a stupid title!! Someone needs to point that writer in the direction of the Fox News Channel's text message poll. As of last night, the "who won the debate" question results were:

McCain - 82%
Obama - 16%
Undecided - 1%

Last I heard, over 56 thousand people participated in that text message poll!

Over at CNN, they utilized their typical spin mantra to make one believe that Obama had a slight lead over McCain in the "who won" telephone poll they had conducted. Even one of the persons in their "after the debate" panel admitted that they had polled mostly Democrats and would have to see the national results that will be broadcast the next day. Ha!

The MSM spin is so laughable when it comes to their Obamabot mindset. It is like their brains have all been deprogrammed, then attached and assimilated by pseudo-humanoid drones like the Borg!

Debate #1 Wrap-up

What's the name on my bracelet?

[Note: A bit unrelated (at least, directly) to the debate, but when I saw Obama fling the rose onto the 9/11 memorial site, I cringed. Ran across this post and video of it. A Tale of Two Roses]

Excerpt:
It’s a small gesture, but gestures matter at the hallowed grave site of so many murdered innocent Americans.

Barack Obama flings a memorial rose at Ground Zero like he’s a kid tossing pennies into a fountain at the shopping mall — or a spectator tossing flowers at a bullfight.

He doesn’t know what he’s doing.

(Clueless NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg copies him.)

By contrast, John McCain and his wife kneel and gently, somberly, place their roses down at the foot of the 9/11 tribute.

Tons of you e-mailed me about this. Here’s the vid for the rest of you who didn’t see it. It’s a telling cultural and generational distinction between these two men vying to be commander-in-chief of our nation.

from a cnn story online: "Immediately after the debate, both campaigns issued statements declaring their candidate the winner."

imagine that.

luckily, we have - thanks to your objective post here, christine - the veracity of a FOX news poll to make judgments by.

let's see ... 56000 votes ... 300 million people ... by my calculations 98% of the people in america elected not to participate in that poll.

oh well, i'm off to a newt gingrich 'solutions day' event here in atlanta. i doubt i'll by his new book, but i'll go and try to be a voice of reason there like i try to do here. i'm trusting that honest, informed opinion hasn't run dry there like it has ... in a lot of places.

carry on.

From the Wikipedia "Borg" link:

The Borg are depicted as an amalgam of cybernetically enhanced humanoid drones of multiple species, organized as an inter-connected collective with a hive mind, inhabiting a vast region of space with many planets and ships. They operate towards one single-minded purpose: to add the biological and technological distinctiveness of other species to their own, in pursuit of perfection. This is achieved through forced assimilation, a process which transforms individuals and technology into Borg, enhancing individuals by adding synthetic components.

In alien encounters, they exhibit no desire for negotiation or reason, only to assimilate. Exhibiting a rapid adaptability to any situation or threat, with encounters characterized by matter of fact 'resistance is futile'-type imperatives, the Borg develop into one of the greatest threats to Starfleet and the Federation.

Obamabots = The Borg

in all honesty, i was a jimmy connors' fan as a teen. although my friend, keith owens, played with a wilson T2000, and had borg as his idol.

and, you know what happens when you assimilate, right?

(neither do i, but i was trying to come up with something along the lines of the door hitting you in the butt on your way out - just haven't had enough coffee yet, i guess...)

here's another cnn quote you'll love:

"It can be reasonably concluded, especially after accounting for the slight Democratic bias in the survey, that we witnessed a tie in Mississippi tonight," CNN Senior Political Researcher Alan Silverleib said. "But given the direction of the campaign over the last couple of weeks, a tie translates to a win for Obama."

now THAT's 'spin'...

:) :)

I watched the debate last night and this isn't a football game because the winner all depends on whom you listen to. CNN's polls show that Obama won and FOX News shows that McCain won. A reporter from the BBC thought that McCain won on points and Newsweek thinks that McCain won even though they say that it might not matter who won. I think McCain showed the inexperience of Obama but I came away with respecting each more.

I think that both sides revealed there are problems. Just as Bush gets blamed for the problems he inherited, the next leader will be blamed for the problems he inherited and it might not be bad for the Republicans if a Democrat gets elected because the Democrats will be blamed for all of the problems plus all of the problems that the new policies of Obama will create and I predict that Obama will double or triple the deficit.

I remember the caption for Alien VS. Predator: "No matter who wins, we lose."

Since I'm just a pilgrim passing through, heaven is my home and I don't care who is the end times leader because God will have a say and he may give the office to the basest of men...

Daniel 4:17 This matter [is] by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men
