Exposing the Foolish Things of the World

The current political climate in the United States of America demonstrates the truth of 1 Corinthians 1. Anyone who has been paying close enough attention sees this. In yesterday's post, I said that I will post about commentary that has appeared on news channels and in a major weekly magazine that will show you just how "foolish things of the world [do] put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty."

Since then, I have been accumulating links to web pages and blogs that reiterate my point. The fact is, there are far to many to include in just one post! Perhaps I can write about them all week!

The following dialogue with links will show only a fraction of what is out there in the blogosphere regarding what the Bible mentions on how "foolish things of the world [do] put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty."

Recall that I started yesterday's post with these particular verses:

1Cr 1:27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

1Cr 1:28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

Today, I want to add one more verse:

1Cr 1:29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

Blue Letter Bible's Treasury of Scripture Knowledge page on that verse gives additional Bible verses that help to explain what Paul meant by that statement. One of the best listed there is this verse:

Rom 15:17 I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.

The following verse is one that is particularly good to remind us that our own human-based, earthy wisdom is nothing and just like our physical bodies which will one day fall to dust and blow away. Human wisdom cannot be compared to the supreme wisdom of the knowledge of God!

Isa 10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? [or] shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake [itself] against them that lift it up, [or] as if the staff should lift up [itself, as if it were] no wood.

How silly would it be for an axe - a tool in the hand of a man - to boast against the man who uses the tool for a certain purpose? How utterly ridiculous would it be for a saw to "magnify itself" against the man that uses it for the purpose that was intended for it? It is then that we realize how ridiculous and unworthy we are to "boast against Him (God)" or that we should "boast ourselves against Him" that created us!

The following verse concludes that matter for us then:

Rom 3:27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

The "law of faith in God" is knowing Jesus Christ! He is the only One worthy of boasting!

Eph 2:1 ¶ And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Eph 2:6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:

Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

See? We are HIS WORKMANSHIP. We were born again - created in Christ Jesus unto good works. And note this: "which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Let's apply this concept to the two young Christian Conservative 20-year-olds; both of whom took enormous risks but still took it upon themselves to expose a very influential and powerful political entity - ACORN - in order to prevent taxpayer dollars from continuing to support their corrupt and illegal activities.

Similarly to David facing the giant Goliath, both Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe cast away their fears and faced one of our country's most menacing political giants - ACORN. And with God's help (they are both Christians) were able to expose this criminal organization - even when the Fringe Media tried to cover it up by NOT reporting it. Of course, with mounting evidence being exposed day by day against ACORN, (and the Census Bureau severing ties to ACORN, and the Congress voting to de-fund ACORN), the Lamestream Media finally had to come around and report it.

These two young people were diligent enough to be willing to do what many had been heretofore unwilling (or too afraid) to do!

These two young people are heroes of our Republic!!

But wait! There is even MORE CORRUPTION being exposed!

When it comes to evaluating the current Bogus POTUS (who constantly twists words into a bunch of lies) and his fraudulent, corrupt administration, Patrice Lewis says it well in her recent article at WorldNetDaily:

The arrogance is breathtaking!

But God is not mocked!

Liars are exposed!

Sins are not hidden from HIM!

Num 32:23 But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.

Psa 69:5 O God, you know how foolish I am; my sins cannot be hidden from you.

Pro 20:27 The LORD's searchlight penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

Mar 4:22 "Everything that is now hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light.

Luk 8:17 For everything that is hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light and made plain to all. [all NLT]

Well, with the absolute insanity at the UN today, starting with our very own totus (I wonder what the world thinks of our illustrious leader having to READ everything from a teleprompter?) I don't think you have the time to attempt a summary of the worlds probs now. They've grown exponentially in a few hours.
Gee thx barry.
.
So, PRAY for Israel, they are going to need it.

I agree. Obama hates America and NEVER states how our military has sacrificed dearly over decades for freedom around the world.

He has contempt for Israel and makes foolish claims that Israel is "occupying" Palestinian territory.

Does he know nothing about history and the re-creation of the Jewish state after the Holocaust? Or is he a Holocaust denier like Iran dictator I'minajihad?

Mohamar (sp?) Quadafi spews his incoherent propaganda and calls Obama his "son."

The world has been turned upside down and the insane asylum members are being given a platform for destruction.

God help us all.

The political climate of Western Europe and Canada demonstrates a preference toward worldly wisdom.

Culturally many 'gods' and types, perhaps naturalistic, humanistic and atheistic are sought.

The gospel and Christ are rejected by many.

How sad it is that many here in the U.S. are following in the footsteps of those European pagans who hold to "worldly wisdom."

Heck - many are so clueless that they actually "pray" to ObamaFRAUD!

UGH!!!!
