Jesus - You're Everything [Update]

Christian singer and performer Colton Dixon did an awesome job singing the Lifehouse worship song "Everything" on American Idol tonight. A copy of Dixon's performance should eventually appear on his page located HERE.

If you recall, I posted the Lifehouse's Everything Skit here at this blog a few years ago. The song itself is very moving, but when listened to in conjunction with viewing the stage performance depicting Jesus as our everything who saves us from evil, sin and death;  it has an even more powerful message!

This life is very brief when compared to eternity.  Therefore, it is only logical to realize that Jesus is all we could ever want or need!

Update:

For those who may not have known this, Colton Dixon was told by the producers of American Idol to "tone down" his comments about his Christian faith. What did Colton do after that? He chose a WORSHIP SONG and fell to his knees at the end of his performance in adoration, reverence, respect, thankfulness, and WORSHIP of God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord! Good for him!

In her obviously secular mind (since she was already told that Colton was singing a WORSHIP song) she wanted something - worship - that really only belongs to God.

Son Living: 'American Idol' Colton Dixon Talks About Faith to Millions.

When host Ryan Seacrest asked what Dixon was thinking, he replied, "I was just collecting myself and saying God use me I want Him to shine through first and foremost."

Producers of the secular show recently asked Dixon, a devout Christian and singer, to tone down his faith tweets suggesting they could have a negative effect on his contending.

"When we first started the Twitter and Facebook stuff, they said beware of political and religious tweets," he previously told TODAY.com. "Just because it can turn off voters or whatever. But you know, being a Christian is who I am. It is a part of me musically. It is what I want to do after the show – go into Christian music."

Without any fear of his faith, nor the possible negative effect on his contending, Dixon firmly asserted that hiding who he was just for some votes was not an option.

"I am not going to hide it, and I am not going to stray away from it just because I am on a TV show."

His fearless stance in front of millions on live TV received an outpouring of praise on social media. Twitter and Facebook fans by the thousands cheered his shout out to God.

Why was Colton's rendition of the song so moving?  He stated it himself while speaking quietly back to Ryan Seacrest on stage:

Jennifer Lopez admitted being "moved" by Colton's rendition of the song. That is precisely what that worship song, sung so beautifully, genuinely, and uplifted towards God did for every person witnessing the performance.
