Allow Gospel to be Silenced?

Yesterday, WorldNetDaily reported the news about the recent Colorado legislative decision that will inevitably lead to Biblical messages being criminalized. Penalties have been created for those who criticize homosexuality outside church walls.

Many of my blogging friends have written extensively about the ramifications of this turn of events. [Note to bloggers: If you have blogged about this topic please show a link in the comment section and I will add it here to this frontpage list.]

Biblical Message Now Criminalized! and, to see what's already happening in Canada Pastor Banned for Opposing Homosexuality by Carlotta Morrow

We can see the secular humanistic battle of homosexual behavior affirming rhetoric, encouragement and indoctrination quite clearly when we read an essay about a Gay Religion Professor Telling Audience to "Abandon the Bible."

Understand that evil and deception knows no bounds. Homosexual activists who "get their way" on so-called "rights," have an ultimate agenda in mind. Don't be fooled into thinking, "Well...if we just let them have the right to be married...they will be happy."

Nope.

Read about Norway's Same-Sex Law Passage and notice what a gay activist says in the article:

"I am extremely pleased that we managed to get this last stage passed. Now we have to tackle the prejudice which still exists in society," Finance Minister Kristin Halvorsen, also leads the Socialist Left Party, told news bureau NTB."

Ask yourself, just whom is considered "prejudice" in the minds of gay activists? That's right. Bible-believing and following Conservative Christians. Be sure to read Stacy's article (linked above) for more on this.

There is much more at stake than meets the eye. La Shawn Barber encourages us to Exercise Our Freedom to Offend.

I have noticed that Christian believers who formerly ignored this issue have now been awakened (especially here in California) to find that same-sex marriage has been decreed by activist judges who, in one felled swoop, waved away over 4 million votes which were cast in support of Proposition 22 - that marriage in California will only be legal and recognized as the union of one man and one woman.

Who can be trusted to uphold the laws of our land when judges take it upon themselves to trump the votes of people, make new law (where one had never existed before), and by judicial fiat - subvert the will of the people in our state? We are supposed to be living in a democratic REPUBLIC!

Many Christians are now being forced to play "catch up." Those who thought that traditional marriage would be protected here in California have now seen what black robed rogue judges can do. They can change the moral structure in a day! If such rulings are not opposed, they will continue to run roughshod over people in every state in the union!

Don't think that there is a homosexual agenda?

I would recommend a book called, "The Homosexual Agenda: Exposing the Principal Threat to Religious Freedom Today." by Alan Sears and Craig Osten.

One thing to keep in mind is that the homosexual activists seek tolerance only for some. If you (or your beliefs) do not agree with theirs...look out. You are a target, not someone who will be tolerated. This is a fact! Just speak to any former homosexual person who has been released from both the bondage of the behavior, as well as the identity. They will tell you about the "double target" of their existence - first, for being an ex-homosexual. Second, for being a born-again Christian.

The battle to protect marriage has reached the point where a Federal Marriage Amendment will likely be necessary. It wouldn't have been necessary (like years ago) if the courts were not systematically attempting to overturn the will of the people in this matter. Millions of people who voted on this subject in 24 states overwhelming affirmed that marriage should remain defined as it has been for thousands of years - the union of one man and one woman.

You can read excerpts from the book:

1. Chapter 3, "Stupid Parents, Enlightened Kids"

2. Chapter 5, "The Family Under Attack"

3. Chapter 6, "The Silence (and Silencing) of the Church"

In the final chapter, "Where do we go from here?" the authors write:

"We cannot allow [a false understanding] of love to trump truth." In our hope of being accepted, we have often backed away from the spiritual battle for the hearts and souls of men. Rather than confront the culture, we have often chosen to conform to it. Instead of promoting self-fulfillment in our churches, we must get back to modeling self-sacrifice. Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for us, and like him, we must be humble servants and not haughty judges. We need to point the individual trapped in homosexual behavior to the true cross, not a revised, meaningless gospel that require no sacrifice, no repentance, and provides no real lasting deliverance from sin and its pain and sorrow.

We must be willing to be salt and light in our culture, no matter what.

[We] must not remain silent, we must speak up, when Christ and his teaching are ridiculed and sexual deviancy is exalted. This includes the media, our public schools, our elected officials, and our workplace. There may be a price that we will all have to pay, but whatever that price is, we must remember it pales in comparison to the price Christ paid for us. If we stay silent, our children and grandchildren will reap the consequences of our apathy.

Our voice must be consistent: we must love homosexual men and women, and because of this love for them we must want to see them redeemed from a lifestyle of certain, ultimate despair.

[So] many are living testaments to the joy and healing--through faith in Jesus Christ--available to the person who escapes from homosexual behavior.

[For] many years, the church and Christians were essentially AWOL from the courthouse while dozens of legal cases were litigated, setting precedents the homosexual activists rely on today. We can no longer ignore the legal realm.

[Reverend Peter Jensen] said, "...The Christian Gospel is the insertion of truth into the untrustworthy discourse of the world."

[We] cannot shy away from this task, regardless of the price. We need to ask ourselves: Are we willing to take a stand, to keep the door open for the gospel, or are we going to allow it to be silenced? Are we willing to share Christ's love with the person trapped in homosexual behavior, or will we simply walk by them like the Levite and the priest on the road to Jericho and not offer a helping hand? (see Luke 10:25-37)

The book concludes:

The answers to those questions will determine the future of marriage, the family, culture, and the gospel in America, and of America itself. They will determine the futures of millions of hurting individuals in need of a loving Father who alone can provide them with the true affirmation, true fulfillment, and the true love they so desperately need. And the good news --even a nation's heart can turn in a single day (Jonah 3:10).

Soli Deo Gloria.
