Committee of Correspondence: A Republic if you can keep it.

Upon exiting the Constitutional Convention. Benjamin Franklin was asked by a woman, "What kind of government have you given us?" Franklin responded with one of the most famous quotations in history, "A Republic if you can keep it." Ask most Americans today what kind of government they have and most will respond a democracy. While a democracy is a form of government a republic is different.
The United States has a democratic form of government known as a representative republic. Under said government, outlined in that founding document called the Constitution, we the people have been given the right to elect our representatives and to run for those leadership positions as long as we meet the defined criteria.
[A] Republic operates under the Rule of Law as found in the Constitution. The governments primary responsibility is to Protect The Rights of the People. This means that the government is set up to ensure man's freedom and protect him from brutal force. A problem can arise, however, in that the government can become the brutal force.
We now have a bogus POTUS (who cannot be a natural born citizen of the United States)* who has spent a million dollars to suppress his COLB (isn't it strange there are no newborn photos?) and other documents; a Democrat filibuster-proof majority in the Senate; and as a result, we are now experiencing the "brutal force" of Marxist policies at a break neck speed that flies in the face of what our Founders intended and what our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of Rights laws all proclaim under what is supposed to be our Constitutional Republic form of government.
This morning, I completed reading Glenn Beck's portion written in the book "Common Sense" and started reading Thomas Paine's original "Common Sense." The parallels between the 1776 fight for America's independence and our current, desperate need to fight against the horrible Republic-and-Constitution destroying policies of the tyrannical Obama regime tell us that we must make more Americans wake up before we lose our Republic, forever.
Yes people - it's that dire of a situation!
July 4th TEA Parties across the country will demonstrate how many more Americans HAVE awoken to this truth and will be protesting against this evil eyed, Chicago styled politician turned usurper who is now occupying OUR White House as a bogus POTUS.
Our nation went horribly astray when some of the people wanted a type of "king" in the person of Obama. Some even went so far as to label him a "messiah!" (UGH!!!!) Look at how disastrous this NOT VETTED, inexperienced, Chicago thug and his cronies have turned out to be for our nation!!
It is interesting to note that people do not learn from history; especially when such history as recorded in the Bible would serve as a warning to people NOT to exalt one man so greatly above the rest or elect such a person without really knowing who he is or where he came from.
Thomas Paine:
As the exalting one man so greatly above the rest cannot be justified on the equal rights of nature, so neither can it be defended on the authority of Scripture; for the will of the Almighty, as declared by Gideon and the prophet Samuel, expressly disapproves of government by kings.
[N]ear three thousand years passed away from the Mosaic account of the creation, till the Jews under a national delusion requested a king. till then their form of government (except in extraordinary cases, where the Almighty interposed) was a kind of republic administered by a judge and the elders of the tribes. Kings they had none, and it was held sinful to acknowledge any being under that title but the Lord of Hosts. And when a man seriously reflects on the idolatrous homage which is paid to the persons of kings, he need not wonder that the Almighty, ever jealous of his honor, should disapprove of a form of government which so impiously invades the prerogative of heaven.
Monarchy is ranked in Scripture as one of the sins of the Jews, for which a curse in reserve is denounced against them. The history of that transaction is worth attending to.
Even though Obama does not actually have the title of "king," the way the people perceived him rose to an even further abominable level - actually calling him a "messiah." I would not imagine that God is pleased by such dishonor. [Add-on: Need proof? Take a look at this: Newsweek: Obama = God]
Of course, eight months after all of the euphoria at the inauguration and the continuing slobbering love affair of the Media of Mass Deception, people are coming to learn the truth about Obama via the Internet websites, social networks, and blogs. They are now realizing that the media is withholding a lot of important information that they SHOULD have known BEFORE the election.
The saying that if "men are not ruled by God, they will be ruled by tyrants" is as relevant today as it always has been throughout history. Click here and scroll down to "The Obama Doctrine" political cartoon. It is an example of a "picture is worth a thousand words."
In Glenn Beck's book, chapter five is entitled, "The Cancer of Progressivism." It will make you shudder!
Beck writes:
Many people will hear the word Progressive and immediately think of liberals or Democrats - but they're not synonymous. Progessivism has less to do with the parties and more to do with individuals who seek to redefine, reshape, and rebuild America into a country where individual liberties and personal property mean nothing if they conflict with the plans and goals of the State.
Beck goes on to explain that this ideology is like a disease that permeates the entire political class, as well as bureaucrats, lobbyists, trade unions and corporations. This is what's scary.
Beck:
The Progressives weren't interested in taking over the political parties, because that kind of thinking was too small; they wanted their movement to engulf the entire country.
PEOPLE!! And I'm speaking primarily to WE THE PEOPLE who are not drinking the Obama Kool-Aid any longer - what are you going to do about this??
Here's the stark contrast between what our Founders warned us about and what our current bogus POTUS intends to do to this nation:
JOHN ADAMS: "The moment the idea is admitted into society, that property is not as sacred as the laws of God and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence."
KARL MARX: "The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."
