Paul's "Anchor Babies" Ad Riles Supporters

I am not in support of Ron Paul, but I couldn't resist posting this link today. Looks like Paul has created the latest buzzword..."anchor babies."

It appears that his latest, anti-illegal immigration ad has irked many of his followers!

Excerpt:

However, many of Paul's supporters – who have donated more than $20 million to his campaign over the past three months alone – are not pleased with the ad. And some have expressed shock at his sudden tough stance against immigration.

Justin Raimondo, editor of AntiWar.com, a blog Paul regularly contributes to, called the ad "disgraceful."

"Rarely has a more ignorant proposal been advanced," he said. "And it is made even worse by the fact that this is Ron Paul we're talking about."

He and other angry fans accused Paul of pandering to the conservative base of the GOP, specifically border-security voters who backed presidential candidate Tom Tancredo before he recently dropped out of the race.

"'No more student visas from terrorist nations' stands against his rhetoric of 'lets talk to people, trade with them, etc.,' as opposed to 'bomb them and interfere with them,'" writes a blogger called "Ali" on Reason.com's blog. "But I think he's trying to appeal to a certain segment of the Republican base. I do not like it though. Otherwise, it is a good ad that has a Tancredo feel to it – despite the fact that I despise Tancredo."

How funny. The one issue that I could agree with Paul on is hated by his constituents?

No doubt about it...this is a crazy election year...

*******

P.S. The SPIKED STORIES OF 2007 list is out. I wrote in and voted for the #5 choice on the list.

I voted for Tom McClintock to be governor of California after Davis was recalled. I had a feeling that Arnold was a Dem wolf in RINO sheep's clothing. With the passing of that awful bill to indoctrinate school children, it appears that I was right all along.

No question about it, that bill that bans any "discriminatory bias" against gays, sure makes Arnie look like a girly boy.

Ha! Arnold...the girly- boy!

Well...he deserves that title! Now that his steroid use has worn off and he's not the gross muscle-man he used to be...we can't even apply his favorite phrase "girly-man" to him!

I am in the process of reading the transcript from the GOP New Hampshire Debate sponsored by ABC News.

In just the first two pages, I have found even more evidence why I could never support Ron Paul (sorry, my brothers and sister in Christ who are promoting him).

Here's just a few:

PAUL: I'm as concerned about the nature of the threat of terrorism as anybody, if not more so. But they don't attack us because we're free and prosperous.

And there all radicals in all elements, in all religions that will resort to violence. But if we don't understand that the reaction is, is because we invade their countries and occupy their countries, we have bases in their country -- and we haven't done it just since 9/11, but we have done that a long time.

I mean, it was the Air Force base in Saudi Arabia before 9/11 that was given as the excuse.

If we don't understand that, we can't win this war against terrorism.

That's a hopelessly ignorant foreign "policy" comment by Paul!!!

I really liked Romney's comeback at him:

GIBSON: You can break in here, Governor Romney.

ROMNEY: Well, unfortunately, Ron, you need a thorough understanding of what radical jihad is, what the movement is, what its intent is, where it flows from. And the fact is that it's trying to bring down not just us, but it's trying to bring down all moderate Islamic governments, Western governments around the world, as we just saw in Pakistan.

Excellent points by Romney!

On the first page of the transcript, McCain's comments won the day!

Thompson came out strong, too.

More Paul ignorant ramblings:

PAUL: There's always a radical element in almost all religions. They have to have an incentive. We give them that incentive.

Paul must live in the land of Oz...either that or he is reading and believing too many of the liberal left "blame America first" blogs!

Paul says WE give them that incentive???

Oh my gosh! Someone plop Paul down in a chair and make him view Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West. He desperately needs some education on this EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ISSUE! I don't think that the presidency is a place where he should EVER be with his woeful ignorance about radical Islamic terrorism!!!

Oh boy...

Later in the transcript, Paul compares his "attraction" from young people for similar reasons that Obama attracts the younger crowd.

Yeah...it's precisely because BOTH YOUNG GROUPS are totally clueless about the issues (especially the terrorism threat) and want to live in a utopia-like-la-la-land!

These young people need to get out from under their socialistic, anti-God, liberal-lunatic-leftist propaganda indoctrination that they are being inundated with at school and realize what is truly, seriously happening in the world...and why!

I did not watch the debate so I have no comment on it though many whom I know said Paul really did a very poor job.

The reasons I was about to vote for him for President is because he seemed to be the only one who was honest, against granting amnesty to illegals and for our Constitution as it was meant to be.

Now, I am confused.

Here's a link to Ron Paul's site: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/border-security-and-immigration-reform/
When I first saw his name, it was presented in a Christian context and I was skeptical (GW burned us, as far as I'm concerned)but I have researched Dr. Paul and find him to be the only candidate who wants to give back the country to Americans. When he finally was "allowed" to finish a statement during the deabte last night, no one had a response until FThompson finally tried. Please research! I am not of the youth you scoff and I would hope that you would understand what Dr. Paul meant by giving the "extremists" incentives is the depravity and arrogance. Very surprised at your lack of thinking more "encompassingly". No disrespect, but every time MRomney spoke, I felt a creepy foreboding. I haven't perused your site but am shocked at your allusion to support of him, as well. Honest, no disrespect intended. I was in FaceBook following the comments during the debate and was equally surprised that so many had no idea about RPaul's stance. He's our best bet and I usually would NEVER talk politics. See http://wordforit.wordpress.com for her links and info!
Now, I'll chaeck out your blog!
Peace and Love, in Jesus' Name.

Chris maybe you need to take a walk in the world outside the US and see and hear what they think of America. They are tired of the selfish motivations behind the so called world police and their self serving, superiority complex. Love your God, your neighbor and your enemies definitely is not the message sent by your government.

Cristine,
On the subject of the original post, I actually found it quite funny that all of the Paul supporters were so upset with him, and thought he was pandering to conservatives. This is of course not what was happening at all. What happened here is that the ad forced them to look beyond the microcosm of his views that they agree with and realize that most of his other stances are staunchly conservative, and against most everything Liberals stand for.

I'm still in agreement with you about how far out in left feild he is when it comes to foreign policy, as I just watched the debates (ABC and FoxNews) on my DVR this morning. I think Ron Paul did just fine. He was himself, if you supported him before you have no reason not to now, of course, if you didn't before, you have no reason to now.

I do have to say that I can understand that there is a large Anti-American sentiment in most parts of the world, partly due to some of our foreign policies, HOWEVER, this is not why we were attacked on 9/11, nor is it the only cause of those feelings. Many around the world do hate us for our prosperity, and for our freedom, and of course because we are not a socialist state (yet) and the media, worldwide, has taken any and all possible steps to make sure the world hates us. The Jihadists, on the other hand, didn't need reason, they just hate us.

Saltnlight,

I am sorry that my stance against Ron Paul has upset you and confused you.

I must admit, it has been difficult for me to make my own choice for the GOP nominee!

I will say this. I have several Christian friends on "Digg" who are fervent supporters for Paul. We happen to disagree on our choice for the GOP nominee, but we often agree on most other issues (especially moral issues) being discussed on Digg.

Each of us, as Christians, must pray for guidance in our voting decision. Each of us must come to our own conclusion in the matter.

There are issues that I disagree with regarding every GOP candidate! However, the FIRST AND FOREMOST issue that is most important in my own mind is the fight against radical Islam. I have already decided that this one issue is the most important when it comes down to my final choice in the voting booth.

Currently, I am leaning towards John McCain because I think he has the most experience regarding the military decisions that will be crucial in the war against terrorism. He proposed the need for a surge in Iraq even before Bush considered it!

I don't like his position on illegal immigration, but even that takes a back seat (IMO) to the war against radical Islam.

Hi Lily of the Valley,

Pretty screen name!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding Ron Paul. Please see my comment to Saltnlight.

Also, I praised some of Romney's answers, but you will see that in this post I criticized Romney about his flip-flopping on several issues. Also, I don't like the idea of a rich man buying the presidential nomination!

I'm glad to "meet" another fellow believer in Jesus Christ here at my blog! I hope you will visit and comment on the many posts I have done regarding Christian faith!

In Christ,
Christine

Oh I have seen quite well what other countries think about America. However, I think that they only "see" what the main stream media (and the "hate-America-first left wing lunatics) spouts with all of its' negative portrayals of our nation and government.

I hope that you will read my latest post. It may give you some additional insight as to who, and why America is perceived incorrectly.
