For Such a Time As This

Here we go. A new blogment! Thanks, again, to Carlotta for coining that word!

Over at Sean Osborne's The NEIN blog, I was responding to a comment written by a blogger named "Maxine."

Here is her comment:

Sean,

I discovered this blog through Bob Park's "Black and Right" site. I thought I'd let you know he has an interesting video of people in Kenya posted there in case any of you haven't seen it:

Black and Right: Kenyans Have to be Lying as Well Video [Note: A must see!!!]

I have to say that this whole thing has boggled my mind--I just don't know what to say. I listen to Michael Medved on conservative talk 990 and last week he mentioned the birth certificate issue and said that the issue was "suicidal" on the part of conservatives and we shouldn't go there. He said that the birth certificate was seen by people, that it was valid, that people had touched the seal, etc. He said those harping on this issue are not accepting defeat and are making themselves look ridiculous. Now this was a conservative talk show host, so it confused me as to how I should feel about it all. Then, the next day, someone sent me an email about the Keyes litigation and I was even more confused. I have been praying that the Lord would lead my heart rightly about how to respond to this whole matter.

I also want to mention that last night I listened to a large portion of the broadcast at Political Pistachio Radio and was spellbound. The general theory they were propounding is that the media and even the conservative media are afraid to go there with this thing because it is so HUGE. The fact is, they said, it is so monumental that no one wants to touch it. Anyone who has time, I would suggest you listen in if you can to the particular broadcast, particularly to the caller named Jack (I think I'm remembering his name correctly.)

One thing that has not turned me off about this blog and about that broadcast at PPR is the spirit that I am seeing in people who are not "bashing" the man, but who seem to have a sincere desire to see right prevail. That's what I am praying for right now.

Here is my reply:

Maxine, I'm right there with you! Praying for the truth to come out! You have inspired me greatly here.

I used to listen to Michael Medved - occasionally. But have not listened to his radio show over the past four years or so. I can't remember which issue turned me off about him, but it was strong enough not to continue listening.

His statement about conservatives continuing on about the birth certificate issue as being "suicidal" upsets me. Either the guy doesn't care whether or not "the greatest nation on God's green earth" survives and abides by our Constitution; or, he fears the repercussions so badly that he is willing to overlook Obama's eligibility to be POTUS at this point in time.

Does that guy ever read his Old Testament? He is Jewish - right?

Recall the story of Queen Esther. It is a story of God's sovereignty and human will. God prepared the place and the opportunity, and His people, Esther and Mordecai, chose to act.

This will be a very brief synopsis. Recall that Haman was a descendant of King Agag, an enemy of the Jews. Lust for power and pride drove Haman to hate Mordecai, Esther's cousin. Haman convinced the king to kill all the Jews.

Enter Queen Esther. She interceded on behalf of the Jews. Faced with death, she interceded anyway! Both Esther and Mordecai set aside their own fear and took action. Esther risked her life by asking King Xerxes to save the Jews. And, this is key - they were not paralyzed by fear!

I didn't even hear the Medved broadcast, but I could see the fear in his words (that Maxine shared here).

I understand that God is in control of history. Several people posting comments here understand that too. He, (God) is never frustrated (though we might be!) by any turn of events or action of man.

I don't know if Medved's views are shaped by his own faith in God. From what I recall, for a second time I ask - he is Jewish - right? However, I see him fearing what would be done to us (conservatives) if the truth comes out and Obama ends up being disqualified because he isn't a natural born citizen. Perhaps Medved feels that he and all conservatives are outnumbered and powerless. When a person feels that way, they often feel helpless to change anything. This is truly sad.

Both Mordecai and Esther acted with courage and self-sacrifice for the sake of others. They did this precisely because they were following God's guidance.

What if God is watching Christians in America today, seeing if that despite all of the hostility that is being heaped upon us (look at the homosexual terrorists targeting Christian churches because Prop. 8 passed!!!); he wants us to demonstrate wisdom by giving respect to what is true and good and by humbly standing against what is wrong?

What if our actions to find the truth about Obama are in His grand design?

What if this challenging circumstance is not to be viewed as chance - but as evidence that we agree that God is sovereign over every area of our lives?

No matter what happens. No matter how many people label me as ridiculous, a fear-mongerer, a rabble-rouser...whatever - I will do the right thing because of my faith in God and Jesus' command, "If you love me, keep my commandments."

This is how we serve Him effectively. We aren't supposed to run and hide because the mass of humanity worships at the feet of their secular idol, Obama. We are to warn, exhort, share, and persuade people towards the TRUTH - whether they want to hear it or not.

OK...sorry. I just needed to vent.

One last thing. If it be God's will that Obama is president, then so be it. However, I will view the next four years as a mandate to urge our nation back to spiritual renewal. God knows we need it badly!

So many people in our nation have taken their eyes off of God - and their lives are crumbling down all around them because of it!! As a follower of Christ, I will use every opportunity to share the gospel and encourage people to rebuild their dependence on God.

"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14 - NIV version)

US SUPREME COURT SCHEDULES FULL CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS NJ CITIZEN SUIT CHALLENGING OBAMA ELIGIBILITY

Excerpt:

THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT HAS SCHEDULED FOR FULL CONFERENCE, LEO DONOFRIO'S NJ CITIZEN SUIT CHALLENGING THE ELIGIBILITY OF MULTIPLE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CANDIDATES, INCLUDING BARACK OBAMA.

Today, the United States Supreme Court scheduled the case - Leo C. Donofrio v. Nina Mitchell Wells, Secretary of State of the State of New Jersey - US Supreme Court Docket No. 08A407 - for a conference of the nine Justices. The conference is a completely private affair.

If four of the nine Justices vote to hear the case in full review, oral argument may be ordered. The conference is scheduled for December 5, 2008, ten days before the meeting of the Electoral College.

Christine,
I think you're right about even the conservative journos wanting to keep the lid on this COLB affair: it's just too mind-boggling for them.
Just suppose the Supreme Court upheld the objection to Obama's citizenship and declared him ineligible to hold POTUS: there would be riots and mayhem across the country, such as would make the 1965 race riots look like a schoolyard fist-fight. This sort of thing has never happened before, and it would vindicate at the same time the Electoral College system (which has been challenged as to its validity from time to time). The commentators know this and are frightened to side with the issue. But it is the only way now to save the country from becoming a de-facto Marxist state.

If you read the latest column on Dick Morris' site he observes that already Bush has streamlined procedures to integrate America into Europe. Obama would complete the process: he is ultimately quite unconcerned about citizenship of the U.S. He is a "citizen of the world", as he emphasised in his Berlin speech last July. And he wants to make us all "citizens of the world".

Do I see prophetic implications in all this? You betcha! I am not a pre-trib rapturist; I believe in a single, climactic, public Second coming when the Christian dead will be raised first and those alive will be gathered to join them when the Master returns. That said, we are witnessing the move to a global, totalitarian state where the final Man of Lawlessness will rule the world. Europe, I believe, will be the theatre and powerhouse of this world dictatorship. But Christians will have to endure it: the Lord never said that He would extract us from tribulation; only that He would give us grace and strength to endure it. Matt.24:13.

Get ready for a roller-coaster ride, and to suffer for the Master. Take heart! Beyond it all is the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hi MurrayA,

Yes. I realize that there would be riots. But I do think that upholding our Constitution through abiding by the "natural born citizen" clause is extremely important. What's more, it would mean (as you wrote) saving our Republic from becoming a Marxist country. This is far more important than worrying about riots.

Unfortunately, riots occurred in Kenya (do you know about the Obama/Odinga connection?) when Odinga lost the election. The same thing probably would have happened here in America if Obama had lost on November 4th.

The way I see it - riots are inevitable if Obama would be found to be ineligible. But if we don't adhere to our Founding Documents, then why have laws in the first place? What truth will be left to hold onto within our nation?
